Saori Marie Choulos believes in igniting the spark of people’s curiosities and strengths that allow them to strive towards continuous development of their authentic self in order to better serve as leaders.
Saori spent nearly thirty years in the business environment where she used her passion for developing teams and supporting the professional growth of employees through coaching, experiential learning, and mentoring.
Her career includes twenty years at VSP Global in leadership and management roles, including serving as its first Diversity & Inclusion Officer (2006 – 2008). Saori now invests more of her energy on understanding the personal and professional aspirations of people in the Greater Sacramento region and brings them together to collaborate on common goals. At Align Capital Region, she is the Director of Outreach and Business Engagement where develops and facilitates diverse teams focused on improving outcomes that support an inclusive and thriving economic region.
She is also engaged in the community, having served as board member and Board President, and currently advisor of ARI, a non-profit organization, focused on the workforce development of the immigrant communities in the Sacramento region, leads a mentoring program to support the professional development of upcoming college graduates and young professionals, serves as advisor for the Full Circle Project at Sacramento State University, is on the Diversity Committee for the American Red Cross, and is working on completing her training to be a Senior Professional Career Coach by the end of this year.
Saori received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in Business Administration from Sacramento State.
