The Metal Gear Solid Board Game Has Been Delayed Again

Metal Gear Solid

For those of you who are trying to get your Metal Gear Solid fix in any way now that the series is practically dead, you might have to wait a bit longer to get your hands on the board game.

Via Polygon, the publisher behind the tabletop game, IDW Games, announced on Friday that we can expect to get our hands on it sometime in the summer of 2021. This wasn't the first delay Metal Gear Solid: The Board Game has had. Back in November of 2019, IDW announced a delay that pushed the release back until the summer of 2020. The recent statement to customers who pre-ordered stated that the publisher will be pushing it back an entire year.

On top of the delay, the developers had an update on the final price of the board game as well. The price will be a little bit higher than expected. However, those who already backers and have paid $109 for their pre-orders will not see a price increase. The statement reads: "After additional development work, we've determined that moving forward, the game will be $125. So, you'll be saving $16 for your early support!"

The publisher behind the board game has stated that there will be more updates in "the next few months." This will be everything from gameplay coverage, components for the board game, and missions. It was also mentioned that those who pre-ordered the game will receive an invite to a virtual edition of Metal Gear Solid: The Board Game in Tabletop Simulator and Tabletopia next year in March of 2021.

While yes, this is a blow for all of those huge Metal Gear fans out there who were looking forward to this board game. However, the news of Metal Gear Solid V players on the PS3 disarming all of the nukes online and unlocking the secret ending might make up for it.

Check Out The Launch Trailer for Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2

2020 has been a year we will all likely remember even though it probably is a year we would all likely like to forget. Even though there haven't been that many positive things this year we can look fondly on, at least Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 will be able to transport us back to simpler times. At least for a little bit.

We finally got a glimpse at the launch trailer for the upcoming remaster.  It showed off some of the returning modes as well as new ones such as online multiplayer. We even got a brief side by side comparison to the locations in the original games compared to how they are represented now in all its high definition glory. You can take a look at the launch trailer below.

I think this might be the game many of us need right now. At least I know it is for me. It has been a tough year and I think some of us need to just be transported back to simpler days where all you had to worry about was slurping down Sunny D and jamming out to Superman by Goldfinger.

I sure played the crap out of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater when I was a kid. However, for some reason, I never completed either of the first two games. I am excited that I will be able to finally complete these games that made a pretty big impact on my gaming life as a child.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 will release on September 4 for PC, Xbox One, and PS4. The game has not been announced for the Nintendo Switch but someone has discovered a Switch control scheme in the demo files. For those of you who are unaware, if you pre-order the game digitally you will receive access to the warehouse demo right now.

Needless to say, all of this concerns the Japanese version of Sinoalice, though this collab might come to the global version some months later.

The new Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni anime adaptation will start airing on October 1 in Japan.

The first chapter of Higurashi is available for free on Steam until a vaccine for Covid-19 is found. You can read more on Ryukishi07 and 07th's Expansion's legendary series with our past coverage.

Eiyuden Chronicle Goes Full Sports Anime with Unite Hero Attacks, Beyblade Fights and Chocobo Races

Rabbit & Bear Studios revealed new updates on the Kickstarter news page of Eiyuden Chronicle revealing Unite Hero Attacks and various minigames.

Eiyuden Chronicle will include a fishing system. Players can fish all around Allraan after reaching a certain point in the story. Each fishing spot will have different fishes. You'll need to use the right baits and upgrade your fishing equipment, cooking or selling your catches. Lastly, the fortress town you develop will also have its own fishing spots, which work as aggregators. It'll have fishes from all around the world.

Next up, you'll also be able to play Beigoma, spinning tops. You'll be able to buy Beigoma customization kits, make your ultimate Beigoma, and battle NPCs. You'll even be able to learn Beigoma skills.

Next up there's trading. Doing business will also be one of the minigames. The price of goods changes depending on the time and place, and you'll have to observe the market, buying and selling the right goods at the right time.

Next up, Eiyuden Chronicle will also include Eggleg Racing and raising. You'll be able to find new Egglegs throughout your adventure or buy them.

Next up, we got a new short Eiyuden Chronicle gameplay video revealing the Unite Hero Attacks:

Next up, two more characters were also introduced, Gocteau and Iris:

Eiyuden Chronicle Gocteau

Profession: Guild leader

Favorite food: Steak topped with plenty of garlic

An influential leader of several guilds. That grin of his seems amiable enough, but this is a man who has been through hell, more times than one. When trouble goes down, Gocteau gets a look in his eye that scares the pants off the younger guildsmen.

He loves to gamble, but rarely wins. Gocteau certainly sounds like an experienced fellow! He could make for a very useful ally!

Quote:

"Heaven hadn't even shat you down to earth yet when I started working this business. So do us all a favor, clam it, and watch a master ply his trade."

Eiyuden Chronicle Iris

Home: The University of Carles

Favorite food: Black tea, and biscuits to go with it

An architect who graduated from the League of Nation's prestigious University of Carles. She's usually quite pleasant to chat with, but when it comes to her trade, she can't shut up. Mention the word "gables" and you're in for an hour-long ode to the perfect slope—and don't even get her started about gambrels!

No question, an architect could certainly come in handy when building a whole town

Quote:

"Oh, hello there! Come in, don't be shy. This is a happy space! That's what they pay me to build. I know, I live a charmed life."

Lastly, a new short interview video with Junichi Murakami was published:

Eiyuden Chronicle is scheduled to launch in Fall 2022 on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PC, and the Next-gen Nintendo platform if it releases by then.

You can read more on the game and check out some gameplay via our past coverage.

PlayStation 5 – Here's Where You Will Be Able to Pre-order

PlayStation 5 PS5

We're only a few short months away from the Holiday season where we can expect the PlayStation 5 to release and begin a new generation of consoles. At this point, fans are just waiting for three things; a price, release date, and pre-orders to start. Numerous retailers now have pages dedicated to the PS5 that will eventually be where pre-orders take place. If you haven't been informed regarding the details of the PlayStation 5 we've have detailed everything that we know about the system up to now. While nothing has been confirmed, there have been rumors that Sony will announce the price(s) of the PlayStation 5 sometime this month.

To help prepare you for the highly anticipated console here are options as to where you can pre-order once it officially goes live. Pre-orders are likely to go fast so having quick access to different sellers will make your search much easier.

For those looking to buy at either Best Buy or GameStop, you can sign up for an e-mail alert for when pre-orders go on sale. You can also sign up directly through Sony on their website.  Sony has said in the past that fans will be well aware when pre-orders go up after a false rumor regarding pre-orders took flame earlier this year. Xbox Series X – Here's Where You Will Be Able to Pre-order

Xbox Series X

The new Xbox Series X will be making its way to shelves later this holiday and while we have no idea on a date or price, many of us are ready to put our hard-earned money into Microsoft's pockets. Pre-orders for the Series X have yet to go up, but we here at DualShockers are going to make your search simpler once pre-orders appear in hopefully the coming weeks. Similarly to the PlayStation 5, popular retailers have begun placeholder pages for the Xbox Series X so they will already be raring to go once Microsoft gives them the go-ahead.

Here are all the sites where you can currently keep in mind for once pre-orders are live.

If you visit these pages, Microsoft, Amazon, GameStop, and Best Buy all have their own e-mail notifications that you can sign up for to also notify you when pre-orders are available. Phil Spencer confirmed that there will be another Xbox Series X event taking place later this month. There have also been several rumors about Microsoft announcing the highly speculated Xbox Series S later this month along with revealing the price of both upcoming consoles. We will update this page once pre-orders go up so be sure to check back into DualShockers on-site as well as our Twitter page.

Super Robot Taisen August 2020 Stream: New Tobikage, Dendoh Toys, Chitose Figure And More

Super Robot Taisen August 2020 Stream Feature

Bandai Namco held a new Super Robot Taisen stream on August 21. As usual the stream had specific corners for mobile games SRW DD and SRW X-Ω , and a toys corner. No new console game was announced, which is a good thing in my book.

We had the usual people on stream: the comedy duo MC, seiyuu Kenji Akabane, and the producers: Takanobu Terada (Series producer), Hiroaki Oochi (SRW X-Ω), and Red / Akaii (SRW DD). Guests seiyuu were Yohei Azakami, Yuki Nagaku, and Midorikawa Hikaru.

The first corner focused on SRW DD celebrating its first anniversary. The next Crossing Pilot event was announced, Masaki Andoh piloting Bilbine. We detailed all that in its specific article.

You might have heard of Getter Noire too, revealed on the Mahjong stream earlier this month. It joined Cross Omega alongside Getter Robo High. Now, Getter Noire will be joining DD too as some point.

One pretty cool moment was Greenriver playing with the Discutter toy they made for the Masaki x Bilbine event. He fooled around with iconic dialogue lines. You can catch that moment at the 36:00 timestamp:

Next up was the Cross Omega corner. The biggest news is how Josh and Rim, with Aile Chevalier and Blanche Neige, will be added to the game. Josh is voiced (Yuichi Nakamura) but Rim isn't. However, Rim has a new illustrated cutin, while Josh's illustration is recycled from Dai Ni Ji SRW OG and SRW OG Moon Dwellers. Gameplay footage with the siblings was shown on stream at the mark 1:13:19 mark:

Next up was the toys corner:

New Eva RG.

Super Robot Taisen August 21 2020 stream Ayame Amanomiya daki cover SRW X-Ω wataru watanabe Super Robot Taisen August 21 2020 stream Ayame Amanomiya oppai mousepad SRW X-Ω wataru watanabe

New dakimakura cover and mousepad for Ayame Amanomiya from SRW X-Ω.

The illustrations are by chara designer Wataru Watanabe. Bandai Namco asked Hobby Japan to make goods for Ayame following the Chatte figure, meaning she's one of the most popular characters of Cross Omega. Chitose Kisaragi, the female protagonist of SRW V, also got a Daki cover and a mousepad back in 2017:

Official SRW daki covers already released in the past, one for Excellen and one for Seolla, but they were tamer overall. Meanwhile, these are really lewd. So when these Chitose goods were revealed, some Japanese fans were angry about it, feeling they're desecrating the series instead of focusing on the games or the mecha. I personally don't really care either way as long as they keep making good games.

Cross-Omega as a whole as Wataru Watanabe going all out and uses very lewd illustrations, as it is the case with most mobile gacha games. It's much more risque than regular SRW which draws the line at sexy pilot suits and bouncing breasts animations. Other Cross Omega OG characters like Olive and Chatte already got daki covers too. It's likely more Cross-Omega OG characters will get similar goods in the long run, so it's best to get used to it now.

Super Robot Taisen August 21 2020 stream Chatte swimsuit figure finished SRW X-Ω wataru watanabe Super Robot Taisen August 21 2020 stream Chatte swimsuit figure 2

Finished version of the Chatte swimsuit figure.

The Chatte figure was shown off on multiple streams before. Those who preordered it will finally get it.

Super Robot Taisen August 21 2020 stream Chitose Kisaragi SRW V figure

New figure announced, Chitose Kisaragi, OG female protagonist of Super Robot Taisen V.

Now that they're done with the Chatte figure, Chitose will be getting one too. No release estimate yet. The OG characters in Super Robot Taisen V were also designed by Wataru Watanabe.

As the stream ended, they announced the next Nama Suparobo Channel stream should be happening in October 2020. 2021 will be the 30th anniversary of SRW. As such, a new console game will definitely release that year. It might be announced on the October stream. The stream's date will be announced in a few weeks on Twitter.

Fun happenings and anecdotes on stream:

During the rehearsal, Yohei Azakami and Yuki Nagaku didn't get to see Greenriver. Since they were all in separate rooms. They looked for him but couldn't find him. So they just greeted him live through camera when he joined the stream. Greeting each other as seiyuu with a "ohayo" is pretty important.

Terada got to Bandai Namco for the stream on his bicycle. This is how he commutes these days. It's a 2 hours trip. He uses the trips to ponder on his work. He said he'll think about what to do for the Getter Noire trailer for SRW DD on his 2 hours trip back home. He's taking breaks needless to say, and isn't riding for 2 hours in one go.

Terada also wants to do a 4 hours stream only showing off toys. He doesn't know if it'll happen though.

Be sure to check out our extensive coverage of the Super Robot Wars series.

Wasteland 3 Co-op Trailer Reveals Some Exciting Features About Playing with Friends

Wasteland 3 InXile Entertainment

InXile Entertainment breaks down the co-op features of Wasteland 3 in a brand new trailer, which seems to be one of my favorite parts of the game as it provides more freedom compared to the other types of co-op sections in the games of the same genre.

Next week, we can finally jump into Wasteland 3's freezing Colorado to kick some ass and stop chaos by creating a new one, probably. The Wasteland series has always known for its highly flexible story-lines, and this feature is going to reach its peak in the upcoming entry, as per developers. That said, we are not here to talk about story options, which has already been explained by the development team. In fact, we are here to learn more about the co-op features of the game.

In Wasteland 3, you can either start a whole new game in co-op mode or continue your already saved games in co-op. As the host of the game, you will determine who controls which characters, and who takes charge of joint conversations. You and your teammate can easily go around the city and find different quests and talk to different people at the same time, with each of you controlling his own conversation options.

There will be some co-op-only features in the game as well, such as turning in a quest to two rival NPCs at the same time for double the reward. Moreover, you will even have the opportunity to mess with your co-operative friend like spreading rumors around him/her at your base.

Whenever you're done with a co-op playthrough, you will have a save from the last checkpoint that you'd left the game, so that you can be able to continue the game on your own, or with a friend in co-op mode once again.

Wasteland 3 will be available through Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft Store, and Steam on PC and Xbox One on August 28. The Xbox Series X version will also launch as soon as the console arrives.

Injustice 3 Probably Won't Be Revealed at DC FanDome

Injustice 3

DC FanDome is going to be this year's biggest online event from Warner Bros. Media that will be covering every new announcements and update related to the world of DC comics, including video games, but it seems there will be no Injustice 3 news.

A few weeks prior to the show, we got to know that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is the next project coming from Rocksteady, nearly five years after launching Batman: Arkham Knight, the final piece of their Arkham trilogy. Later on, we've been officially informed that WB Montreal will also be announcing its new Batman-focused project at DC FanDome, which has already received several mysterious teasers and screenshots.

Aside from the two titles above, there were some strong rumors around the announcement of Injustice 3 by Nether Realm Studios, given that the studio head, Ed Boon, will be attending the show tomorrow. That said, it seems the new installment of the Injustice series won't be revealed at the upcoming event as a new press release from Warner Bros. Media indicated that "two games will be announced" at DC FanDome, and we already know what are those two titles.

Of course, we can still expect a surprising announcement from Ed Boon at the show, but they might save it for another event if there would be a new entry for the Injustice series in the works. Previously, Nether Realm' Mortal Kombat 11 was revealed at Geoff Keighley's The Game Awards show, so the studio might be planning another exciting show for this year's The Game Awards event, or even the upcoming Opening Night Live show which will be presented by Keighley.

The Injustice series was first created by Nether Realm Studios back in 2013. The sequel arrived in 2017, which received mostly positive reviews from critics, turning into one of the best comic-oriented games of the current generation of consoles.
