Pokemon Sword and Shield: The Crown Tundra Trailer Teases New Areas and Pokemon

Pokemon Sword and Shield - The Crown Tundra

Pokemon Sword and Shield received its first paid expansion The Isle of Armor in June but there's more to come. A new trailer from Nintendo hypes up The Crown Tundra which takes players to a new snowy region in pursuit of its once-ruler Calyrex (who also happens to be a Legendary Pokemon). Check it out below.

Along with Calyrex, two additional Legendary Pokemon are being introduced with Regieleki and Regidrago. You can also look forward to new regional forms for Articuno, Moltres and Zapdos which also confers new abilities for them. Overall, there are more than 100 Pokemon returning from previous titles along with some new ones.

Pokemon Sword and Shield: The Crown Tundra doesn't have a release date yet but it's expected sometime in Autumn. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks (especially with how Nintendo has been with stealth dropping trailers and announcements this year). In the meantime, you can check out our review for Pokemon Sword and Shield here.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon Trailer Highlights Masato Arakawa, Reaffirms November 13th Release For Current Gen/PC Versions

yakuza like a dragon

It took almost a full year, but we in the west are finally getting our hands on the latest entry in the Yakuza series, Like a Dragon. The title is a big change up for the series, from a brand new protagonist who is a polar opposite to what we played in the previous titles, to a battle system that changes the very foundations of its gameplay. The game will get an English localization, which Sega has highlighted, as well as confirming (again) when we can get our hands on it.

First up, we get to see the voice behind one of the characters, Masato Arakawa. He is the main antagonist of Like a Dragon, and is a huge foe being the current governor of Tokyo. He will be voiced in the English version by Will Yun Lee, who voiced Kung Lao in the more recent Mortal Kombat titles.

Alongside the video, we also got reaffirmation of the current generation and PC versions' release date. If you recall, they were originally announced to come out on November 13th, but it was then announced that the Xbox Series S and X version would be moved up to the 10th to coincide with the launch of those systems. While it was assumed the other releases would stay on the 13th, Sega sent mixed messages by refusing to clarify when asked. But with the new trailer, they have done just that.

We now know when we'll be able to play Yakuza: Like a Dragon: November 10th for Xbox Series S/X and November 13th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The only version without a solid date is the PS5 one, which is only said to be coming "later."

NBA 2K21 Brings Back Old Shot Stick Controls With Latest Update

nba 2k21

Like many of the annual sports titles, NBA 2K21 will be coming to the next generation of consoles. In fact, that version made quite the splash of controversy due to the lack of upgrade options as well as the fact that it'll cost more than the current gen versions. But as it stands, if you want to get on that virtual basketball court as of now, you'll have to stick to current gen versions. And now a new update is here to make it feel a bit more familiar for fans.

One thing that players noticed in 2K21 is that the shooting mechanics were slightly different. One of the changes for this iteration was only using the shoot button for jump shot timing, which is in contrast to how it was before where the stick could also be used. The newest update has a few technical fixes, but the big thing is returning that option for shooting. When you download the update and boot up the game, you'll have a choice between the old or new scheme. You can read more through here. The patch is live now.

NBA 2K21 is available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, PC and Stadia. You can read our review for this current version through here. The game is also confirmed to be coming out for PS5 and Xbox Series S and X.

Sony To Use Air Freights To Ensure PS5 Can Meet Demands As Much As Possible In US

ps5

Sony's PS5 is launching this holiday season. As it stands now, we've learned a lot about the console and television ads are already running. But we still don't know key details still, such as the price and exact launch date though many are expecting the $500 range as well as sometime in November. There is, of course, fear of stock for both this and Microsoft's Xbox Series X and S that's also launching this holiday season. But it seems Sony is going to do what they can to make sure demand will be met, even taking to the sky.

As mentioned by industry analyst Daniel Ahmand/ZhugeEX, Sony has taken the unusual step of scheduling air freights in the United States to make sure stock is available. Usually, these type of shipments are done by sea freights to reduce costs. As Ahmand details, there are 60 flights planned (though it's unclear if that is 60 separate flights or 60 different aircrafts). This comes from only Delta, so it's entirely possible there are more flights being scheduled from other airlines as well as possible more stock coming via sea.

Ahmand says that the stock is expected to last for the remainder of the quarter. That bodes well for those in the US looking to get a PS5, but of course, just because they think it will match stock, it's not guaranteed. At the very least, it seems Sony is doing their best to make sure you can buy their new system this year. A PS5-based showcase is set to be held on September 16th, where it's possible we'll get the date and price information, so stay turned.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 is Fastest Title in Series to Sell 1 Million Units

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2_07

After a glowing critical reception, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 has achieved a significant milestone for the series. According to Activision Blizzard on Twitter, the remake compilation became the fastest game in the franchise to hit one million units sold-through. Considering how popular the original games were, that's no small feat.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 has been a financial success – in Gfk's UK physical sales charts, it remained in second place despite stiff competition. If the compilation does well enough, perhaps Vicarious Visions will work on remakes of other titles. Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3 and 4 are pretty well regarded after all, as is Tony Hawk's Underground 1 and 2.

In the meantime, Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 and 2 is currently available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC (via the Epic Games Store). You can check out our review of it here. Stay tuned for more updates and details, including other sales milestones, in the coming months.

Twin Mirror Release Date Announcement Coming Tomorrow

twin mirror

Dontnod Entertainment first announced Twin Mirror back in 2018, so people have been looking forward to get their hands on the studio's ambitious narrative adventure title for a while now. Originally scheduled for a 2019 launch, the game was delayed to 2020 last year, following which updates on it have been few and far between.

It will, however, be getting a major new update soon. Dontnod Entertainment recently took to Twitter via the game's official page to confirm that a release date announcement for Twin Mirror will be coming tomorrow, at 6 PM CEST. Given the fact that we're already halfway through September, it's looking likely that the game will be delayed once again, into 2021, but you never know.

Unlike previous Dontnod titles, though Twin Mirror was originally also planned as an episodic release, the developer confirmed in June that it will now be released as a single package. The game is due out on PS4, Xbox One, and PC (where it will be exclusive to the Epic Games Store), but it's likely at this point that PS5 and Xbox Series X versions will also be announced.

Dontnod Entertainment recently released Tell Me Why for PC and Xbox One with Microsoft. You can read our review of the game through here.

The short sees the Empire's forces having to retreat after a surprise attack by the New Rpublic, following which Grey is hunted by a a renegade New Republic X-Wing pilot. Halo 3: ODST Arrives on September 22nd for PC

Halo 3 ODST

Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC gets even bigger when Halo 3: ODST arrives next week. 343 Industries has confirmed that the title will release on September 22nd. A new trailer has also been released, teasing the ordeals that the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers or ODST will have to go through.

As a sort-of spin-off from Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST focuses on a squad of ODST troops that land in New Mombasa. It's not the smoothest of entrances, however, as the squad is split up. As the Rookie, the player must reconnect with their squad-mates while battling the Covenant. Of course, it's not just the campaign that Halo: The Master Chief Collection owners have to look forward to on PC.

Firefight is also coming and serves as the original wave-based survival mode. With numerous maps, modifiers and tough enemies to fight, Firefight still ranks as one of the best Horde modes in a first person shooter. Stay tuned for more details when Halo 3: ODST arrives next week on PC
