Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War PC Specs Revealed, 175 GB Required

Activision has provided new information on the PC version of Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. Along with a new trailer that showcases the gameplay from the same, the publisher also outlined the various customization options that one can expect. System requirements across a wide range of configurations have also been revealed.

Handled by Beenox, the PC version features 4K resolution support, uncapped framerates and RTX shadows and ambient occlusion. Nvidia DLSS and Reflex Technology are also supported, the latter facilitating low latency for competitive play. One can also expect Ultrawide and multi-monitor support along with cross-platform play.

Check out the different specifications below. It's worth noting the installation size which is – at launch, mind you – 50 GB for multiplayer alone and a whopping 175 GB for all game modes. Granted, it seems possible to uninstall the campaign once you're done with it so that's a nice bonus. Just remember that the 50 GB required for multiplayer will balloon with subsequent updates.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is out on November 13th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC.


Destiny 2: Beyond Light Launch Trailer is Here

Bungie recently released a Vidoc for Destiny 2: Beyond Light and what's coming next. But there's still time to get to all of that since the expansion's launch is less than two weeks away. Check out the launch trailer below to learn more about the set-up for the Guardians' trip to Europa.

Essentially, most of the Fallen houses have rallied around Eramis and formed the new House of Darkness. With the help of an ancient pyramid, they wield the power of Darkness in the form of Stasis. The chosen Guardian responds to a distress call and commits to stopping Eramis with The Stranger, The Drifter and Eris Morn helping out.

Along with a new destination and story missions, there's also a new Strike to experience, new Exotic weapons and armor to unlock, and three new Stasis subclasses to wield. Destiny 2: Beyond Light is out on November 10th for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia while Xbox Series X/S and PS5 upgrades arrive in December. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.


Far Cry 6, Rainbow Six Quarantine Delayed to Fiscal Year 2021 to 2022 [Update]

Update: Ubisoft has since confirmed in a recent conference call that Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine are planned to release between April 2021 and September 2021. Interestingly, as per Niko Partners senior analyst Daniel Ahmad on Twitter, it's also looking to release its Avatar title between April 2022 and March 2023.

In its latest financial report, Ubisoft has announced delays for Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine. Originally, the former was to launch in February 2021 while the latter was slated for fiscal year 2020 to 2021, meaning it could arrive by March 31st 2021. Both titles will now be releasing between fiscal year 2021 to 2022.

This means they could release at any point between April 1st 2021 and March 31st 2022. The delay was made to "leverage their full potential in the context of production challenges caused by COVID-19." Ubisoft's non-IFRS operating income targets for this fiscal year year remain within "the boundaries we set back in May."

"Being able to maximize the long term value of our IPs while at the same time maintaining solid financial targets highlights the increasing recurring nature of our revenues, the strength of our portfolio of franchises, confidence in our holiday season release slate and current supportive industry dynamics." The last part no doubt references the publisher's line-up of open world titles for the coming months. Watch Dogs: Legion is out now for current-gen platforms but launches next month for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla also launches in November for current and next-gen platforms. Meanwhile, Immortals: Fenyx Rising will come to multiple platforms in December. Overall, that's a pretty solid line-up of titles and two of them will have strong post-launch support, allowing Ubisoft to leverage additional revenue from microtransactions and Season Pass sales.

In the meantime, we'll have to wait for more details on Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine. Stay tuned in the coming year or so.


Resident Evil 3 Has Sold Over 3 Million Units

Capcom recently stated that the continued steady sales of the Resident Evil 3 remake, released earlier this year, drove the company to record Q2 profits in the current fiscal year, but what exactly does that mean for the game's sales?

In their fiscal presentation, Capcom revealed the updated sales figures for the game, revealing that as of September 30, within 6 months of its launch, Resident Evil 3 has crossed 3 million units in sales, up from 2.7 million units three months ago.

Those are solid numbers, especially given the game's relatively muted critical reception- though the remake is still falling significantly short of the pace at which other recent Resident Evil games have sold. For instance, at last count, Resident Evil 7's sales stood at 7.9 million units, while Resident Evil 2's sales were at 7.2 million units.

Capcom, however, have been perfectly happy with the pace at which Resident Evil 3 has been selling, having said earlier this year that it's sales are more or less matching internal expectations.

Resident Evil 3 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC, and it's possible that the game could be headed to the Nintendo Switch as a cloud-exclusive release as well. Read more on that through here.


Demon's Souls Remake Doesn't Have Difficulty Options

Difficulty, accessibility, and the balance between those two has been a hot topic of discussion in the industry for a while now, and FromSoftware's games have been at the forefront of that discussion. While many feel that the games are specifically designed to be challenging and thus should not have a difficulty option, others argue that simply having an option for a lower difficulty wouldn't harm the core design in any way, and would make the game more accessible to wider audiences.

Thus far, the Souls games haven't had any difficulty options whatsoever- and the upcoming Demon's Souls remake won't either. Speaking with Game Informer in an interview (which you can view below), creative director Gavin Moore said that the Demon's Souls remake won't have any difficulty options.

"There are no difficulty options in Demon's Souls, and there shouldn't be," Moore said. "I think the original challenge is fair. It's all about learning enemy patterns and learning your environment, and then knowing when to move forward in combat with that risk/reward system. When to attack, when to back off."

"A lot of people tell me, 'Oh, Demon's Souls is such a hard game,'" he continued. "I actually don't believe it is as hard as people imagine it was. I think the difficulty levels of subsequent games in the genre have got harder."

Demon's Souls Reveals New Details on Fracture Mode, Photo Mode, the Nexus, and More

Earlier today, we were promised a good deal of new Demon's Souls gameplay, and we've certainly got it. A round of new hands-on impressions has gone live around the internet at various media outlets, not only showing plenty of new gameplay footage, but also revealing lots of interesting new details on the upcoming remake.

For starters, it looks like the game is actually going to have quite a bit of new content that wasn't included in the original PS3 release in 2009. Speaking with Polygon, creative director Gavin Moore said, "There's a lot of new content that we've added to the game and for fans to find and enjoy. And there are lots of things that I think fans are going to go, 'Oh, that's amazing. Great. You know, I didn't know they put that in the game.' I'm not going to tell you any more than that, because [I don't want] to spoil anything."

Some of this new content has been revealed as well. For starters, there's the Fractured Mode, which is essentially a mirror mode that flips the entire game horizontally, which means you have to learn the placements of enemies and where attacks are going to come in from all over again. Moore calls it "the most challenging experience I've ever had with Demon's Souls."

Demon's Souls is also going to have a photo mode, which Moore describes as "exceptionally amazing in-depth". Apparently, there's quite a lot of options and filters for players to play around with. Photo mode will, of course, pause the game (which is a first for Demon's Souls), but if you're playing online and get invaded, the game will warn you and then boot you from photo mode.

Additionally, players can also play the entire game with several different filters. One filter will make it so that the game looks closer to the PS3 original and the way that looked at launch in 2009. Another filter makes the game black-and-white, achieving a look similar to the Kurosawa Mode seen in Ghost of Tsushima.

Curiously enough, you can also change the game's camera positioning to make it more like the original, though Moore says that players should stick with the new setting that Bluepoint Games have gone with for the remake, since it does a better job of showcasing the game and its technical achievements.

Meanwhile, some interesting balancing changes have been made as well. For instance, healing grasses now will be much less plentiful, in that unlike the original game, you won't be able to carry hundreds of them, and will actually have to deal with encumbrance. On top of being able to carry fewer grasses, the more powerful ones will also be heavier than the others.

Meanwhile, Moore has also revealed to GameSpot that players will now actually be able to store their characters in the Nexus, change their build, and continue playing the game, free to go back to older builds at any time by accessing them in the Nexus.

"What we have done is we've updated the character creator and we've given thousands upon thousands of new permutations where you can create and you can play," he said. "And then once you've chosen a character, what you can do is, after you've paid a number of souls for it, in the Nexus you can actually kind of store your character and then go in and change your character in the Nexus. So that's the quick interpretation of it, I guess."

Finally, for all of you who've been wondering since the game was announced (if not before that) if the remake will have the five Archstone and a brand new world to take you to- that's not going to be the case. Moore has confirmed to Polygon that the game only has five unbroken Archstones in the Nexus, same as the original release.

Genshin Impact – Player Spending Hits $245 Million in First Month, Accolades Trailer Released

It's no secret that miHoYo's Genshin Impact is a success. After earning over $100 million in revenue in less than two weeks, it's hit a new milestone in player spending. Sensor Tower reported that the free to play action RPG accumulated $245 million in player spending in its first month.

By comparison, Fire Emblem Heroes saw $70 million in player spending in its launch month while Fortnite accumulated $25 million (though it was only available on the Apple App Store in its first month on mobile). Pokemon GO managed to emerge slightly ahead with $283 million earned in its first 30 days. While Genshin Impact earned $45 million in 30 days in the United States, becoming the the biggest mobile RPG launch in the region, China remains its largest market.

Player spending in China alone has crossed $82 million with Japan coming in at second with $59 million. Such a response isn't unwarranted – Genshin Impact received ample amount of critical acclaim (as seen in the accolades trailer below) for its combat, production values and world design. Demon's Souls Gameplay Trailer Highlights Armor Spider and Flamelurker

A good amount of gameplay for Bluepoint's Demon's Souls remake on PS5 was promised and the developer has delivered. The new trailer shines the spotlight on the Armor Spider and Flamelurker which have been lovingly remade for next-gen. Check them both out below.

All throughout the trailer, it's incredible to note the level of detail in what are supposed to be the more drab environments. Ambient lighting realistically illuminates the player and foes; textures are sharp and high resolution; and everything moves so smoothly. Of course, the feel of the original game, especially with regards to combat, seems to have been faithfully retained.

Other bosses are also showcased including the Dragon God, Penetrator, Old Hero, Maneater and Storm King along with some other gorgeous environments. Overall, this is shaping up to be Bluepoint's finest work till date and a stellar launch title. Demon's Souls is out on November 12th for PS5 and can be pre-ordered now.


Wasteland 3 Has Reached 1 Million Players Since Launch

Though rife with issues at launch (which patches have helped resolve), InXile Entertainment's Wasteland 3 stands out as an excellent tactical turn-based RPG. The developer has since announced on Twitter that the title reached one million players. It also shared a live-action short film it shot several years ago as a mood piece for life in post-apocalyptic Colorado.

While that figure is certainly impressive, it doesn't necessarily reflect sales figures since Wasteland 3 was available at launch on Xbox Game Pass for console and PC. It would be interesting to learn more about the revenue generated, especially when Wasteland 2 managed to earn $1.5 million in just four days of release. Time, as always, will tell.

Wasteland 3 is currently available for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. It tells the story of November Squad, whose survivors journey to Colorado Springs to assist the Patriarch in return for aid. Along the way, players will encounter various factions and make decisions that influence the overall world and story direction. You can check out our official review here for more information.


Apex Legends Season 7 Launch Trailer Showcases Horizon's Abilities, Olympus and More

Respawn Entertainment is readying the next season for its free to play battle royale shooter Apex Legends. And while actual gameplay of the next Legend, Horizon, and new map Olympus are still to be unveiled, the launch trailer does give an idea of what to expect. Check it out below.

There's a brief set-up explaining how all of the Legends ended up on Olympus, the floating city which looks fairly gorgeous. The Trident is also introduced, which provides the potential for vehicular mayhem, while Horizon gets the chance to strut her stuff. Along with lifting up enemies with gravity, allowing them to be shot in mid-air, she can also generate a miniature black hole to suck them in.

Whether a new weapon will also be added remains to be seen, especially since each new season had something new in store. Other new content that can be expected are Clubs for building up a community of like-minded players and a new Battle Pass with over 100 cosmetics. Apex Legends Season 7: Ascension goes live on November 4th, which coincides with the game's Steam launch.
