Later on, more allegations came out. This time from iOS 14 users claiming Genshin Impact does clipboard snooping and reads the content of their clipboard at startup. However, multiple Japanese Twitter users pointed out it's possibly due to a known bug caused by firebase dynamic links and likely unintentional on miHoYo's part. You can read the full story with our past coverage.

On September 30, 1526 JST, miHoYo answered the Genshin Impact clipboard snooping allegations from Japanese players in a new statement published on Twitter and its official site:

Genshin Impact Clipboard snooping allegations mihoyo statement

Summary of miHoYo's statement regarding the Genshin Impact clipboard snooping allegations:

miHoYo explained it received reports regarding how Genshin Impact automatically reads clipboard information on iOS 14 devices. miHoYo stated this issue only exists in the iOS version of Genshin Impact.

miHoYo also explained where the problem stems from. In early stages of development, a system console function was added to the game's test version. In order to test Genshin Impact on each system. This function was used for reading the clipboard, copying specified coding in the game, and start the system console. miHoYo was planning to remove this function in the official version of Genshin Impact. But now discovered it wasn't completely removed. miHoYo sincerely apologized for the inconvenience caused by the mistake of its development team.

miHoYo stated that Genshin Impact does not process, save, upload or perform any malicious operation with the information it reads.

miHoYo contacted App Store in order to update the game and delete the function. The update should soon pass the App Store review. miHoYo will notify players on Twitter once the update is available.

Lastly, miHoYo apologized to all players for the inconvenience. Stating the development team and miHoYo as a whole will never do anything that could bring harm to players or their personal information. miHoYo hope players will keep supporting Genshin Impact.

Steam Digital Tabletop Fest To Take Place October 21-26

Gloomhaven, Steam

The Steam Game Fests we've been treated to this year have mostly been a hit. They're a great way to try out demos of upcoming games, while also enjoying some deeper dives with the devs. Now, Steam is looking to expand beyond board games with its upcoming Steam Digital Tabletop Fest. The week-long shindig kicks off October 21 and will feature several panels and games.

Thus far, the team at Steam hasn't given out too many details for what to expect. For now, we only know a few things, but they are pretty exciting. Personally, I'm most looking forward to the Gloomhaven live stream featuring the game's developers. In early access, that game has been pretty fun, though it still needs some work to bring the full experience to the digital world.

We're also going to be treated to panels for Plague Inc: Evolved and Othercide. Plus, a team of designers will sit down with actual scientists to talk about what games get right and wrong about being on Mars. The last panel currently on the docket is all about Cthulhu games. Hopefully, in the coming days, we get a better idea of what to expect from the event.

Presumably, several of the games included will also get a heavy discount during the event. So, if you're hoping to grab some new digital board games, this might be a great time to do so.

The Steam Digital Tabletop Fest runs from October 21-26. Be sure to check back with DualShockers closer to the event to see what might be worth watching.

China Hero Project Shows Off New Trailers for Developing Titles

China Hero Project Hardcore Mecha

Overnight PlayStation held an event giving us new development updates on the titles under their China Hero Project initiative and while there seemingly wasn't an actual presentation of any sort, seven games got new trailers giving those loyal devoted fans a taste of what is yet to come.

Unfortunately, there is still no news regarding the status of Lost Soul Aside, one of the founding titles of the project. Creator Yang Bing stated earlier this year that the goal was to release the game in 2020, but with COV-19 and its noticeable absence today it is now the second time in a row that it has been missing. It looks as though we will have to be waiting just a little bit longer.

Despite Sony helping directly with the development of these titles, it does not make any of them exclusive to the platform Lost Soul Aside has already been confirmed to be a timed-exclusive, and other titles games like Hardcore Mecha have already been released on other platforms like Nintendo Switch and PC so these games may interest more than just PlayStation players. For more updates on the China Hero Project, you can follow their Twitter page.

Here are all the trailers debuted below:

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart Will Boast Ray Tracing and New Gameplay Mechanics

There's no doubt whatsoever that Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is one of the more anticipated games from many when it comes to release window lineup of the PS5. And even though developer Insomniac Games has already given us many details on the upcoming entry in the series, further information has today come to light about what we can expect from the game.

Over on the PlayStation website, a litany of new pieces of info related to Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart have been divulged, mainly those associated with how the title will perform on PS5. As it was previously confirmed, Rift Apart will obviously be able to perform at a visual fidelity of 4K and will also boast HDR. In addition, the game will also be able to hit 60fps in a specific performance mode that will prioritize the frame rate.

As for other new details that have been given, Insomniac says Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will also contain ray tracing, which is something that currently is not possible on Sony's current-gen PS4. Enhanced lighting is said to be included, as are special features associated with the PS5's new DualSense controller.

When it comes to new gameplay mechanics, this is where things get a bit more interesting. The description for Rift Apart goes on to say that Clank will be able to utilize "all-new interdimensional mechanics." While we aren't given a further description of what this might mean, it sounds like the dimension-jumping that was shown in previous trailers for the game might be something that Clank can do at will. Don't take that as a certainty just yet, but this could prove to be true.

We don't have a specific release date for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart just yet, but an arrival in early 2021 seems likely. As for the PS5 itself, the console will finally launch in a little over a month on November 12.

Spider-Man Fans Are Conflicted About Peter's New Model for PS5

Spider-Man

PlayStation and Insomniac released new details regarding Spider-Man Remastered for the PlayStation 5, but the most important information that is being talked about on social media right now is the remodeling of the games protagonist Peter Parker. While the voice performance is still done by Yuri Lowenthal, but John Bubinak who is most known for his roles in Barry and Girls has been replaced by Ben Jordan who is seemingly a new face (ha) in the acting sphere. Immediately the news brought a myriad of opinions as to whether the switch was the right move or not.

The first thought in many people's minds when it came to Peter's new model was the comparison to Tom Holland who plays the silk webster in the Marvel Cinematic Universe which led to the creation of some clever memes.

Others, like myself, straight-up hate the new model in general and prefer the original version which some used the actual game to describe how they're feeling in funny and creative ways.

Then there are those who like the new model better whether be due to graphical fidelity, general attraction, or because it matches Peter's age more in the game.

As I said before, I'm not a fan of the redesign simply because I think the original looks better. Peter is 23 in the game and there are those that think the switch is better because he looked too old for his age, but in reality, some people look older than they are and some younger. Age shouldn't play that much of a factor.

Despite everyone's feelings, Insomniac says that they have a good reason for the redesign as it will apparently be a better match for Yuri Lowenthal who does the performance capture on top of the voice acting going into the next generation of hardware. The voice actor tweeted jokingly about the decision on his personal Twitter.

What are your thoughts on the new model? Regardless we all better get used to it as it isn't going anywhere anytime soon. Do not forget, for those that want Spider-Man: Remastered on the PlayStation 5 you will need to buy the Ultimate Edition of Spider-Man: Miles Morales or the PS4 version of the game to get this remaster. It will not be available for purchase separately.

Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War Debuts a First Look At Its Very '80s-Themed Zombies Mode

As the first entry in the series to make its debut on next-gen platforms, Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War is kicking the series into high gear with its launch this November. Like tradition for the series, alongside its campaign and multiplayer, Treyarch's latest entry will feature the return of the fan favorite Zombies Mode, this time with a distinctly '80s flair to it.

Activision and Treyarch officially revealed the first look at the Zombies Mode for Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War, with the reveal video giving a closer look at what's in store for players as they try to combat oncoming hordes of zombies. Featuring a mix of cinematics, gameplay, and interviews with developers on the mode, the reveal trailer for the Zombies Mode in Black Ops – Cold War should offer a bit of something for everyone, while highlighting what's new in the latest take on the horde mode.

You can take a look at the full reveal video for Zombies Mode below:

According to the reveal, the Zombies Mode in Black Ops – Cold War will feature up to 4 players as a squad fighting off hordes in the story mode's "Die Mashcine" campaign, which is set in a colorful, neon graffiti bunker. Alongside the campaign, the Zombies Mode in Black Ops – Cold War will also have new features such as Field Upgrades to provide players with buffs and healing items in the midst of a wave, and the ability to craft new gear on the field such as weapons and support equipment.

Notably, Black Ops – Cold War will feature the first iteration of Zombies Mode with cross-platform play across different platforms and console generations, allowing users to play between both current-gen/next-gen consoles and PC. Additionally, the mode will also support the Battle Pass system, allowing players to play and work towards unlocking new gear and perks.

Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War will release for PS5, Xbox Series X/Series S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 13, 2020. For a closer look, you can also check out the new screenshots from Zombies Mode below:

FIFA 21 Ultimate Team Season One Revealed, Looks Very Familar

FIFA 21, EA Sports

Today marks the release of the FIFA 21 Web App for Ultimate Team. That means anyone as obsessed with FIFA as I am can log in and start the process of upgrading their team through pack opening and trading. Plus, it means we get a confirmed picture of what players will have waiting for them in season one. Sadly, it's pretty much the exact same stuff as FIFA 20, with a few fun changes.

https://twitter.com/EASPORTSFIFA/status/1311353914235793415

I have to note of course, that there are still things coming that should change all of this up greatly. Sure, season one rewards will stay the same, but we're not seeing the full picture. There will almost certainly be some of the new FUT events on launch day, which should pad out these rewards quite a bit. Plus, the list of SBCs and Objectives should fill out once we can actually play the game.

That said, the season pass is mostly the same. Tons of cosmetics, untradeable packs, and loan items. At the very tail-end of the season, you can unlock an 85-rated version of either Alexandre Lacazette, Marcel Sabitizer, or Juan Bernat. Given how stacked the Premier League looks to be this season, I expect most will go for that Lacazette.

The good news from all of this is that the Milestones section seems to have finally gotten some love. EA introduced it in FIFA 20, but hardly used it. FIFA 21's section is jam-packed with stuff to do over the course of the game cycle. Hopefully, they continually update it and don't just let it languish like last year.

It will be very interesting to see how everything shapes up once the game is actually out. Fortunately, we only have a few more days to wait. FIFA 21 launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 6. It will come to PS5 and Xbox Series X at a later date.

PlayStation Store Games of a Generation Sale Discounts Some of the PS4's All-Time Greats

PlayStation

With the PS5 set to arrive in just over a month, PS4 owners will likely be trying to get in a few more gaming experiences before the arrival of next-gen. If there are any PS4 titles that you've missed out on or been meaning to catch-up with, Sony's latest sale on the PlayStation Store is likely to have a few games worth picking up from across the past generation.

Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has detailed its latest sale that is aimed at offering discounts on some of the best titles that have released on the PS4 over the course of the generation. Specifically, Ghost of Tsushima–which released this past summer from Sucker Punch Productions–is one of the headline games of the sale for , alongside a ton of other old favorites and classics.

In terms of highlights from the sale, Ghost of Tsushima is currently discounted to $44.99, while those looking for a similar action-adventure experience can also pick up Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order for $29.99. If multiplayer games are more of your thing, Overwatch: Legendary Edition is down to just under $20, alongside other hits from the last generation like Red Dead Redemption 2 ($27.99) and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt ($11.99). Given that the PS5 will also support PS4 titles through backwards compatibility, this is likely a good time to stock up on digital games that will (likely) crossover into next-gen with the system's launch in November.

The PlayStation Store's Games of a Generation Sale is currently happening now through October 14, 2020. For a closer look at the full list of games on sale, you can check out the North American and European store pages.

Lego Fall Guys Stop Motion Animation Is a Visual Treat

Fall Guys, Mediatonic

You don't need me to tell you that Fall Guys is great. It took the world by storm earlier this year and, while Among Us has taken some of that sweet, sweet Twitch numbers away, it's almost time for Season 2 to kick off. That should boost the playerbase once again. Truly, the only thing that could make Fall Guys better would be a stop motion fan animation using Lego. What's that you say? A fan named TheJumiFilm did exactly that? And it looks incredible? Well, let's check it out below.

TheJumiFilm is known for this kind of stuff. Give their YouTube channel a look and you'll see tons of neat Lego stop motion animations. However, they've really outdone themselves here. Sure, it doesn't quite capture the pure insanity that happens in Door Dash because there are only six players. Otherwise though, it's pretty much spot-on. Even down to that pizza guy sacrficing their chances of winning to be a jerk.

Worry not, Among Us fans, TheJumiFilm says they're working on an adaptation of that game as well. So soon, we should have both of the year's best party games in condensed Lego form. While you wait, make sure to check out some of their other creations. They're all pretty solid.

Of course, this is far from the first of last fan creation or art for Fall Guys. My personal favorite remains the Resident Evil 3 Remake mod that turns Jill, Carlos, and Nemesis as jelly beans. It's not quite as good as the sexy Mr. X mods from Resident Evil 2 Remake, but it's definitely up there.

Fall Guys is available now on PC and PS4.

Marvel's Spider-Man for PS5 Features a New Peter Parker Character Model, Finally Adds the Amazing Suit

Spider-Man

Insomniac Games just recently promised that it would be showing off more of the Marvel's Spider-Man remaster for PS5 before the game's arrival alongside Miles Morales in November. Well, it didn't take long for the developer to follow through on that promise.

In a new post on the PlayStation Blog today, Insomniac detailed all of the major changes that will be coming in the remaster of Marvel's Spider-Man, and they seem to be far more substantial than originally thought. While the game has notably received some graphical and performance enhancements on PS5 that make the title far prettier than it ever has been before. Along with these expected changes though, Insomniac has made one major adjustment as well.

The character model for Peter Parker, which was originally modeled after John Bubniak, has now been changed altogether. The new model resembles an actor named Ben Jordan and the resulting look for Peter in-game makes the character look far younger. In fact, the new look for Peter in Marvel's Spider-Man oddly resembles the current big screen adaptation of the character that is played by Tom Holland. Insomniac says it made the change in order "to bring the best performances to players with our next-generation Marvel's Spider-Man games" which is somewhat of an odd explanation. Regardless, Yuri Lowenthal is still the actor portraying Peter in-game.

Lastly, it was also unveiled that one of the three new suits that will be included in Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered is indeed the costume from the original The Amazing Spider-Man film. While this series of Spidey films which saw Andrew Garfield in the central role isn't as beloved as the Raimi or MCU editions, the suit itself coming to the game finally brings all of the various movie looks of Spider-Man to the title, which is actually pretty darn cool. You can get a look at the suit at the bottom of the page.

While I will admit that the decision to change Peter's look in this remaster is a bit strange to me, overall, the game itself looks awesome on PS5. Even though I was pretty hesitant to spend the additional $20 to gain access to this once again, Insomniac looks like it has at least put a lot of love into this new iteration. I'm actually looking forward to revisiting it later this year.

Marvel's Spider-Man Remasted will be packed in with Miles Morales for those who buy the Ultimate Edition of the game and will release alongside the PS5 on November 12.
