Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Leaked Video Shows Insanely Quick Load Times On PS5

marvel's spider-man miles morales

From the beginning of the upcoming next generation console marketing cycles, probably the biggest new feature that was hyped up was the SSDs the new systems would have. Sony, especially, seemed to design their PS5 around SSD capabilities. We've seen some examples of just how incredibly fast loading can be on the system, and now we have another one from the upcoming Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

In a leaked video found by Reddit user nicoreese, which you can see below, it seems to show someone who is in possession of a PS5 and has a copy of Miles Morales. He boots up the game, which only takes about 2 seconds to get to the main menu and then from there gets into the game in roughly 7 seconds. While it's not explicitly made clear this is a cold boot, considering how it goes directly into the main menu it most likely is, but even if this is coming from suspend it's still incredibly fast. Loading was one of the many ways in which the PS5 version of Miles Morales was said to be optimized.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will launch for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 on November 12th, and an incredible skin based on the Into the Spider-Verse film was just revealed which you can see a demo of through here.

PS5 Loading times: Spider-Man Miles Morales from Home Screen to in-game in just 7 seconds from PS5

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales Gets Incredible Video Of Into The Spider-Verse Suit

marvel's spider-man miles morales

Miles Morales as a character has existed for quite some time. He was introduced all the way back in 2011 in the Ultimate Spider-Man comic book series, but for many, he was probably introduced in the hit film Into the Spider-Verse. That helped to boost his presence and popularity, and here we are about to see the launch of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales alongside Sony's PS5. The game is also tipping its hat to that film in the coolest possible way.

It was revealed earlier today that one of the many suits that Miles will be able to don will, in fact, be the suit from the Spider-Verse film. However, it's a lot more than just a random skin. Marvel released a video demoing it, and not only does it change the character's art style to mimic the film, it even animates in the unique way the movie does. It's a tad jarring at first, but it's a very cool touch.

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales will release for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 November 12th. The Into the Spider-Verse suit will be a pre-order bonus.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: House Of Ashes Gets First Trailer, Releases 2021

the dark pictures

Supermassive Games' ambitious The Dark Pictures Anthology has been an interesting project ever since it was first announced. At one point, it was to be a series of 8 smaller titles, each spanning different settings and following different characters in tales of horror. It's unclear if the plan is still to have that many, but the second game just released with Little Hope, and now we know the third.

Much like how Little Hope was teased in the first game of the series, the seemingly successful Man of Medan, the third game also got a similar treatment. While it's not gone up on official channels, you can see it uploaded below thanks to RabidRetrospectGames. The plot is not clear, but it seems to follow soldiers in a desert setting, possibly Iraq, that find themselves in what appears to be an underground cave with potentially demonic forces. No platforms are given here as you can see, but it's probably safe to assume the game will be cross-gen.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan and Little Hope are both available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. House of Ashes will release at some point in 2021.

Demon's Souls' Music Gets Highlighted In New Trailer

Demon's Souls

Next month Sony will launch the PS5 and alongside it will be Demon's Souls. The game is a remake of the PS3 game from 2009. It was the first in the Souls saga, one of the most influential franchises of this ending generation. The remake will look to capture the energy of that game in many ways, but in some ways will be different, such as the music.

Via the official PlayStation channel, a preview of what to expect for the game's soundtrack has been posted. While the music does invoke the original, it certainly does it in a very different, grander way. It's something more akin with the later Dark Souls games which tended to have a bit more theatrical flair to their soundtrack. You can check it out below to see what you think.

Demon's Souls will launch November 12th for PlayStation 5. You can check out a ton of details that Sony recently dropped about the game, including photo mode, through here.

Monster Hunter Rise Video Showcases Great Sword Gameplay, Aknosom Hunt

Monster Hunter Rise

Capcom has released some new gameplay footage for Monster Hunter Rise, which launches next year exclusively for Switch. The focus is on the Great Sword in a hunt for Aknosom in the Shrine Ruins. However, we also get a look at various other mechanics like the Wirebug and how it mixes up the combat.

The Great Sword has always been known as a "high risk, high reward" weapon. As such, it delivers strong damage at the risk of lower movement and perfect timing. With the Wirebug, the player can more easily zip around and set up aerial Great Sword hits. The tool can also be used to more easily evade attacks and recover from being knocked down.

Aksonom is also intriguing because it has a number of interesting moves despite its moderate speed. Along with charging ahead and flying, it can also unleash molten projectiles. Monster Hunter Rise is out on March 26th 2021 for the Switch – stay tuned for more gameplay, especially covering the other weapon types.

Watch Dogs: Legion – Xbox Series X Trailer Showcases Ray-Tracing, Improved Fidelity

Watch Dogs Legion

With Ubisoft's Watch Dogs: Legion is now available for current-gen platforms, the development team is focused on its next-gen launch. It's released a new trailer showcasing the various improvements and graphical feats capable on Xbox Series X, including 4K/30 FPS gameplay. Check it out below.

Along with dramatically reduced loading times, players can also expect assets in the open world to be of higher resolution and fidelity. This means that shadows, render targets, textures and high level geometry will look much better. Ray-traced reflections and variable refresh rate can also be expected, further increasing the immersion while exploring London.

Xbox One players can also benefit from Smart Delivery, which means a free upgrade for Xbox Series X/S at launch. Watch Dogs: Legion will be available on November 10th for Xbox Series X/S while the PlayStation 5 version releases on November 12th. Apex Legends Season 7: Ascension Gameplay Debuts, Trident Showcased

Apex Legends Season 7

After introducing Horizon's backstory and setting up the journey to Olympus, Respawn Entertainment has finally unveiled gameplay for Apex Legends Season 7: Ascension. It offers a look at the different cosmetics, including some snazzy finishers, and Horizon's abilities. Check it out below.

The Trident is arguably the highlight of this trailer. Capable of fitting an entire squad, various abilities are also compatible with it. For instance, Gibraltar can deploy his dome shield to protect the vehicle from incoming fire. On the other hand, if playing as Rampart, she'll prop up her turret on the back for destruction on the go.

As for Horizon, it seems she can use her gravity-defying technology to lift herself up to higher places along with suspending other players. Along with trapping foes in a blackhole – which also serves as a nice defensive measure – she can use it as a finisher. Those who purchase the Season 7 battle pass can avail of the Prowler Polished Perfection skin along with three new Rare skins for different Legends.

Season 7: Ascension arrives on November 4th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Stay tuned for more details when it goes live.

Metroid Prime 4 Developer Reportedly Investing $500,000 to Expand and Move Into New HQ

retro studios

Metroid Prime 4 developer Retro Studios is gearing up to expand and move into a new headquarters, it seems. As per data published by Intelligence360 (and spotted by VGC), the Austin, Texas-based developer is looking to invest $500,000 to move into and flesh out a new 40,000 square feet office building, which will be the fourth time they have moved offices in their history as a studio. Retro is aiming to complete the move by Summer of 2021.

Development of Metroid Prime 4 was taken over by Retro Studios in January 2018, at which point they rebooted the game and started working on it from scratch. Since then, updates on it have been few and far between, and it remains to be seen when it will be ready to release (or be shown off, at the very least). However, Retro have been on a pretty heavy recruitment drive, and have been tapping up top talent from across the industry.

This includes developers that have previously worked on franchises such as God of War, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Mirror's Edgeand Halo.

A recent job listing suggested that Retro Studios wants Metroid Prime 4 to be a more cinematic, narrative-driven experience. Read more on that through here.

Xbox Series X/S Launch Stream Announced for November 10th

xbox series x xbox series s

As teased last week on Twitter, Microsoft will host a launch event for the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S on November 10th. It will be streamed live at 11 AM PT/2 PM ET on YouTube, Twitch and Facebook. The gist of the event is that Team Xbox members, "your favorite creators" and development partners will be playing titles on both consoles to celebrate their launch.

There will be special launch highlights, behind-the-scenes looks at next-gen titles and also details on their development from the studios responsible for them. The idea is to provide "a moment of play, not press releases, as next generation consoles begin to land in the hands of players around the world. Instead of big announcements, we will mark the beginning of a new era by gaming alongside one another. We will take this moment to have some fun and look forward to having you join us."

The Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S retail for $499 and $299. The full list of launch titles can be seen here. Microsoft has already revealed enhancements for current-gen games like Gears 5, which will also receive a new update that adds New Game Plus and Ironman Mode, and Halo: The Master Chief Collection, which will support 4K and 120 FPS. Titles like Gears Tactics will also debut on consoles for the first time alongside next-gen versions of third-party games like Assassin's Creed Valhalla, DiRT 5, Watch Dogs: Legion and much more. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.
