Nexus Mods Has Banned All Political U.S Content Until After November 3

Nexus Mods

Nexus Mods, a central hub for PC game modding content, is banning all political U.S based mods until "after the next President of the United States has been inaugurated."

Nexus Mods, simply known as Nexus, is a modders heaven, full of player-created content for a majority of popular PC games. Its most popular titles for mods include SkyrimFallout 4, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and the Dragon Age series.

The ban on political mods was announced in a news update, posted by the site's owner Robin "Dark0ne" Scott. "Recently we have seen a spate of provocative and troll mods being uploaded based around current sociopolitical issues in the United States," the post reads. "As we get closer to the US election in November we expect this trend to increase as it did this time 4 years ago."

Citing the quality of said mods and the often "polarising views they express" as well as "the fact that a small but vocal contingent of our users are seemingly not intelligent or grown up enough to be able to debate the issues," a ban has to be enacted.

If it wasn't obvious by now, Scott is not mincing words about what he thinks of the folks uploading politically charged content. "Most of these mods are being uploaded by cowards with sock puppet accounts deliberately to try and cause a stir," said Scott. He suggests that any users browsing through Nexus Mods that find politically charged content report the mod and move on.

Scott also isn't worried about any negative feedback he may be getting for this zero-tolerance position. "To be blunt, we do not care how this looks nor do we care if you think the mods we do or don't moderate reflect on us, our political beliefs or what we do and don't want on our site," said Scott. "Say and do what you want on other sites or services, we care nothing for it here."

Spider-Man Director Comments on Peter Parker Remodel for PS5

Spider-Man

Yesterday Sony and Insomniac Games gave us new information regarding some of the new features we can expect in Spider-Man: Remastered for the PlayStation 5 with the most talked about subject being the complete remodel for the game's main protagonist Peter Parker. Naturally, everyone went to Twitter to explain their feelings which ended up being relatively mixed. Due to the feedback Spider-Man Creative Director Bryan Intihar made a statement on the social media platform giving more explanation as to the reasoning behind on their decision.

As stated from Insomniac originally, the decision behind the change was due to "finding a better facial match" for Yuri Lowenthal who does the voice acting and performance capture for Peter. Intihar pushed by saying "We care as much about this character as your attachment to him, so please know we didn't make this decision/change lightly. He later continues, "…I hope you can trust us that this decision is what we feel is best for the future of the franchise and our upcoming goals for this beloved Marvel character."

It does make sense as to why they made the change whether we like it or not and I'm sure it is the right move moving forward. At the very least we still got Miles and he looks great in Spider-Man: Miles MoralesSpider-Man: Remastered will only be available to those who buy the Ultimate Edition of Miles Morales on PS5 or through upgrading from the PS4 version to the PS5.

Both Spider-Man: Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales will be available on November 12 for PlayStation 5. You can pre-order the Miles Morales Ultimate Edition on Amazon.

Super Robot Wars OG Anime: Director Masami Obari Wants To Make A New Series

Super Robot Wars 29th anniversary wallpaper

Super Robot Wars, the tactical RPG crossover featuring multiple different mecha or sci-fi anime, will soon celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2021. While the series features characters and mecha ranging from Gundam, Getter Robo and Mazinger, to Macross, Evangelion and Cowboy Bebop. each game traditionally features "Original Generation" characters. These are nameable protagonists specifically created for each game by Bandai Namco, with their own original mecha as well.

As the Super Robot Wars games piled up over the decades, hundreds of OG characters were created. Which prompted Bandai Namco to create the sister series Super Robot Wars OG, which isn't an IP crossover but only features the OG characters from various past SRW games. Many characters, mecha, and story elements from old Banpresto games are used as well, such as the Compati Hero series.

Super Robot Wars OG is an unique and fascinating franchise in game history, in how it works as a prequel, a remake, and a sequel to past SRW games. The series often introduces the OG characters prior to the events that happened in their game of origin, rewrite said events, and keep said characters permanently. The Super Robot Wars OG series started in 2002 and is made of four main games as of now. The latest being Super Robot Wars OG The Moon Dwellers, released in 2016 and PS3 (Japan only) and PS4. Multiple anime adaptations have happened as well.

As Masami Obari noted on Twitter, October 2, 2020 marked the tenth anniversary of the first episode of Super Robot Taisen OG The Inspector, the last anime adaptation we've got. Obari directed that one, and said he's love to make more Super Robot Wars OG anime:

Obviously, Masami Obari often says he'd like to work on things, and it doesn't necessarily happen. However, as SRW celebrates its 30th anniversary in 2021, it's possible we'll soon get a new Super Robot Wars OG game and / or anime adaptation.

It's also interesting to note that Producer Takanobu Terada hinted back on the February 2020 SRW stream that they weren't done yet writing the script for the next Super Robot Wars OG game. They should have finished by now though.

The latest Super Robot Wars stream happened in August. Producer Terada most notably denied the decades old urban legend stating OG character Masaki and his mecha Cybaster were ripped-off from Aura Battle Dunbine.

In either case, while nothing was announced yet, it's certain a new Super Robot Wars PS4/PS5/Switch game will release in 2021 for the 30th anniversary. On the August stream, Bandai Namco mentioned another stream should be happening in October, which should be soon. We'll be sure to cover it as always.

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands Delayed To "Later This Year"

world of warcraft, blizzard

World of Warcraft: Shadowlands was set to launch on PC later this month. Between the series of Afterlives shorts and the relatively well-received beta, it seemed like it was on track to hit its October 27 release date. Today we learned that is no longer the case and the game has been delayed to sometime later in 2020. Obviously, given the current state of the world, everything in game development is even more in flux than it usually is. That said, it's a bit of a surprise to get the delay announcement this close to launch.

The post that Activision-Blizzard shared today makes it sound like the game is nearly complete. They seem very happy with where the campaign, leveling experience, and overall story currently stand. However, after getting some more feedback, they want to spend some more time polishing the end game.

Frankly, that's a smart move if they aren't happy with it. While the leveling experience is important, most players spend the bulk of their time with the end game. If that's not up to expectations, you almost have to delay to get it right. Especially when the community response to Battle for Azeroth was less than rosy.

Plus, the strain of moving to a work-from-home environment was always going to make development tough. Giving Blizzard a little more time to polish up bugs and retune the end game is only going to make World of Warcraft: Shadowlands better for everyone.

We no longer have a release date for World of Warcraft: Shadowlands. However, we do know that the pre-patch is coming on October 13. It will lay the groundwork for the expansion by introducing the new leveling system, adding in the new-player experience, and more. So, while you wait, maybe roll another alt or two.

Among Us — Watch Our Team at DualShockers Slowly Tear Itself Apart

It's a rare day at DualShockers when a large portion of our staff is able to get together and play a game together, but with the rise in popularity of Among Us over the past month, we knew we needed to set some time aside and give the asymmetrical multiplayer title a shot for ourselves.

In a group consisting of myself, Otto Kratky, Scott White, Kris Cornelisse, Mario Rivera, Ryan Meitzler, Nick Blain, and special guest Asa GreenRiver, we all came together to record our own experience with one another. With some of us being new to the game, and others being a bit more experienced, our matches slowly became more and more competitive as time went on until we were all incredibly "sus" of one another.

All of the matches we were able to record came from Mario's perspective and he was able to play as both a crewmate and an impostor. If you haven't played the game before, his own viewpoint throughout our video should give you a great idea of how Among Us works. And if you have played the game before, well, we had plenty of spicy moments take place.

You can check out our own experience with Among Us down below. Hopefully, the video is as fun as those that every other content creator in the gaming space have been putting out over the past few weeks.

And if you'd like to give Among Us a shot with your own friends, the game is available on mobile and PC and only retails for around $5.

Minecraft Steve's Addition to the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Mural Looks Hilariously Out of Place

As more characters have been added to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate over time, Nintendo has continually updated the title's expansive key art which features all of the fighters in the game. Following the announcement that Minecraft Steve would be the next character added to Ultimate, the key art has once again been updated, but maybe not for the best.

Seen in the video below from the official Super Smash Bros. Twitter account in Japan, Steve has now been added to the ever-expanding mural, but he absolutely does not seem to fit. Steve's unusual character design when contrasted with every other fighter in the image just does not jive, making him look totally out of place but in the funniest way possible. Even though this image has obviously been created in Photoshop in the first place, Steve looks as though he was merely cut and pasted in.

Perhaps funnier than Steve's appearance, especially when compared to everyone else in the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate mural, comes with how he even is entering the frame. Rather than doing some sort of sick pose like Mario, Link, or Sonic, Steve is simply digging himself out of a hole in the ground and is just standing about looking almost confused. It's honestly the best thing I think I've seen today, so I can't say I'm complaining that this is how it turned out.

Nintendo and creator Masahiro Sakurai will be sharing more information on Steve's addition to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate this weekend on October 3, so stay tuned until that time to learn more.

Genshin Impact: Inazuma Hinted As New Region Coming in First Big Update

Genshin Impact Inazuma story feature qiqi yaoyao artwork

Genshin Impact. available since September 28 on PC, PS4, iOS, and Android. is set in the fantasy world of Teyvat. The regions of Teyvat are each inspired from various real countries. Mondstadt, the first region we get to explore, has a western European medieval feel. The second region the story brings us to, Liyue, is inspired from China. These are the two regions we can explore in game right now. However, the story mentions there are seven regions in total, one for each element in Genshin Impact: Pyro (Natlan), Cryo (Snezhnaya), Electro (Inazuma), Dendro (Sumeru), Anemo (Mondstadt), Hydro (Fontaine), and Geo (Liyue). In the long run, we'll supposedly get to see all seven regions.

The fact that there are only two regions right now, Mondstadt and Liyue, might seem small-scale, but both regions are incredibly huge, Liyue in particular. There's easily at least 60 hours of content right now, assuming you don't rush. As that's around the amount of time I spent on Closed Beta Test 3, which had less content than now. However, when will get to see the next region?

Well, it's worth pointing out there are various NPCs in Genshin Impact who share stories of the other regions in the game, most notably Inazuma, which is themed around Japan. Overall, many NPCs dialogues hint that Inazuma could be the next region to come around.

DualShockers recently had the opportunity to interview miHoYo, so we directly asked them about it. Here is miHoYo's answer:

miHoYo: "Perceptive players will have already noticed the hints that we dropped about the new city in development. We are working hard to bring it to players as soon as we can".

Judging from this answer, it looks like Inazuma is indeed the next region in Teyvat we'll get to explore. We don't know yet however when Inazuma will be implemented. It's likely it'll take at least one month from now on. There's a rumor claiming that version 1.1 will add Inazuma and launch on October 12. However, it's very unlikely as that would be way too soon. At the very least, if version 1.1 does launch on October 12, it won't add Inazuma or another region yet. I'm personally rather betting for late October or early November.  In any case, we'll see how it goes. We'll be sure to notify you when we have a date.

Genshin Impact Launch Trailer (English Dub)

We also learned miHoYo VTuber Lumi N0va might appear in Genshin Impact if fan demand is high enough. We'll soon publish our full interview with the Genshin Impact development team at miHoYo, along with a beginner Q&A guide for those starting out.

Soon after the launch of Genshin Impact, multiple Japanese players claimed the game was "spyware" or was doing clipboard snooping. miHoYo denied both of these allegations and explained in detail what actually happened. The issues were both unintentional, and have now been solved as well.

The featured artwork above is by Atoima and was shared by the Japanese Genshin Impact Twitter account. It's themed around the Mooncake Festival and features Paimon, a new character, and Qiqi.

Super Mario Bros. 35 is Out for Free on Switch Today, Only Available Until March

Even though the release of Super Mario 3D All-Stars seems to be the main way in which Nintendo has opted to celebrate the 35th anniversary of its most iconic character, the publisher has also whipped together another that is out right now.

Super Mario Bros. 35 is, bizarrely enough, a battle royale take on the side-scrolling games that started it all. Each match sees you squaring off against 34 other combatants who are each trying to make their way through a specific Super Mario Bros. level. As you kill enemies and advance onward, you'll then be able to use those same enemies to invade the worlds of other players to make their own run more difficult. The last player left standing is then declared the winner. It's a strange idea on paper, but one that seems like it could actually be quite enjoyable.

You can see the game in action right here in its new launch trailer:

The only strange thing about Super Mario Bros. 35 is that, like 3D All-Stars, the game will only be available for a limited time. From now until March 31, 2021, Super Mario Bros. 35 will be able to be downloaded and played by anyone, but after that time, it will be gone forever. This is a really strange thing that Nintendo keeps doing lately, and I'm not really sure why. While you could argue that Super Mario Bros. 35 is only meant to be around as part of the 35th anniversary of the original game in the franchise, I don't see the point in locking it away forever after next March. Then again, maybe Nintendo will change its mind, much as it did with Jump Rope Challenge.

We should have some more opinionated thoughts on Super Mario Bros. 35 for you coming in the next few days, so stay tuned.

Watch Us React to the Minecraft Steve Reveal for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

Minecraft Steve is officially heading to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. What was once only thought to be a possibility in memes has now become a reality. Fortunately, we were able to capture our own reaction to the news on camera and can now share it with you.

Our own video manager Mario Rivera was joined by one of our friends and Super Smash Bros. super fan Grant Callahan to watch the Steve reveal as it happened this morning. The two recorded themselves watching the video itself (which notably featured creator Masahiro Sakurai at its end) while also breaking down why Steve makes sense to be brought into Smash in the first place.

To conclude, Mario and Grant also discussed who they think the remaining fighters may be in this current Fighter's Pass lineup for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. With only four characters left to join the slate, we're getting down to the nitty-gritty when it comes to new additions. For those of you reading this, who are you hoping to see show up in the future? Be sure to let us know down in the comments.

You can check out our reaction video down below if you'd like to see what we have to say. As for more on Steve joining Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Sakurai has said that more will be revealed on the game's latest fighter this coming Saturday, October 3, in a new live stream. We'll keep you posted on any new developments from that event as they transpire.

Amnesia: Rebirth Gameplay Trailer Shows Off Puzzles, Monsters, and More

Amnesia: Rebirth, Frictional Games

Amnesia: Rebirth is Frictional Games' big return to the franchise that put them on the map. Sure, they helped a bit with A Machine for Pigs, but since releasing Amnesia: The Dark Descent, they've mostly been working on other projects. Now they're back, and it's a great time to be a fan of horror games. Or, at least someone who watches them on YouTube while hiding his eyes half the time. Today, Frictional dropped a sizeable gameplay trailer via IGN. Check it out below.

If you've yet to play an Amnesia game yet, you're in for a treat. The trademark mix of horrifying enemies and puzzle-solving makes for the perfect Halloween concoction. The gameplay trailer shows both off in quite a bit of detail. That first scene lets us see that Frictional still has complete mastery of building tension and getting your heart pumping. Expect to have that constant feeling of near helplessness throughout your playthrough.

After that, we get to see some of the puzzles Amnesia: Rebirth will use to keep your brain working in overdrive. These environmental puzzles require careful thought. After all, one wrong move can easily mean your death. Tiptoeing your way around the game's many traps is going to be both a common thread and a way to keep that tension at a maximum.

Fortunately, we don't have to wait too long to try the game out for ourselves. Amnesia: Rebirth comes to PC and PS4 on October 20. So far, I've yet to hear anything about a PS5 version, but you have to assume it will make that jump at some point. That lighting is practically begging for someone to throw the RTX switch to the "on" position.
