Assassin's Creed Valhalla Gets Another Cinematic TV Spot

Assassin's Creed Valhalla_04

We're just a week away from the next entry in Ubisoft's long running action franchise, Assassin's Creed Valhalla. It'll be the first mainline game in the series since the well-received Odyssey of 2018. This time we'll be in the time of the Vikings, and Ubisoft is in full commercial mode.

Over the last few days the publisher has released several trailers, including one that's kind of, sort of about Norse mythology though is more about Norse and Viking history in the end, as well as a cinematic TV commercial that is…rather odd in how it uses its main character. Now they've released another cinematic TV spot, something a bit more traditional. It's largely reused footage from other trailers, but makes for a nice little spot to find for channel flippers I imagine.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla will release on November 10th for most major platforms. For everything you'll need to know about the game, we got you covered through here.

Dragon Quest 11 S Demo is Out Now on PC, Xbox One and PS4

dragon quest 11 s

Before Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition launched on Nintendo Switch, it received a super-meaty demo with up to 10 hours of content. With the RPG coming to Xbox One, PS4 and PC in December, said demo is now available to download on those platforms. Check out the trailer below.

Along with showcasing the game's beginning, where the player controls the Luminary in their quest to save Erdrea, the demo should provide an idea of the game's exploration, combat and story-telling. It also offers a look at the visuals, especially since the Definitive Edition for all three platforms is based on the Switch version. We'll see how it measures up to the original in good time.

Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age – Definitive Edition is out on December 4th for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Xbox Series X/S (along with Xbox Game Pass). It includes both English and Japanese voices, a 2D mode, more story scenarios and other improvements. Stay tuned for more details en route to its release.

Gran Turismo 7 Possibly Targeting First Half Of 2021, Per New Ad

Gran Turismo 7

It seems Sony is planning to make the PS5's first year as must have as possible. Not only are they releasing several first party titles at the system's launch, 2021 is planned to have both God of War 2 and Horizon 2, and possibly even Gran Turismo 7 within the first half.

Gran Turismo 7 was one of many first party titles shown off in one of Sony's PS5 showcase videos. A lot has been used to hype it up already, such as the plan to target 4K and 60 FPS as well as the promise to use all of the PS5's enhancements and features. It also could be coming sooner than you think. Despite no date or time frame being set with its announcement, a new French ad says that it'll be setting sights at the first half of 2021, as you can see from the video uploaded by GT ELIEANOR below (thanks to PSU for the find there). It states "Sortie prévue pour la première moitié de 2021″, which roughly translates to "Expected to premier in the first half of 2021."

While this does seem to be from an official ad, we'll be filing this under rumor for the time being since no other sources from Sony are saying this. However, considering the last Gran Turismo released way back in 2017 and Sony is clearly aiming to make 2021 a big first year, it's not that far-fetched.

Outriders Broadcast Set for November 5th, End-Game Content Teased

Outriders

People Can Fly's Outriders will receive a new Outriders Broadcast on November 5th, streaming on Twitch and YouTube at 9 AM PT. It will take a look at end-game content along with providing a spotlight on the Technomancer class. The title "Expeditions" could provide some hint as to the end-game system.

Otherwise, the purpose of end-game – perfecting one's build – should be familiar to looter shooter fans. The campaign with all of its side-quests will take roughly 40 hours to complete. End-game content is about 20 hours on top of this, based on statements made back in July, with the development team avoiding a live-service model to focus on story.

Outriders is currently slated to release on February 2nd 2021 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. It was delayed from its holiday 2020 launch window to next year for more polish and will feature cross-platform play at launch. Stay tuned for more details after the next Outriders Broadcast.

Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition Briefly Shows Off Weaponry Of Vergil

devil-may-cry-5-special-edition

The first foray into next gen for the Devil May Cry series will be the familiar Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition. An enhanced re-release of the game from last year, it will add a few key features to the action-packed title. Probably the biggest selling point will be the addition of Vergil, the franchise's signature sort of antagonist, sort of anti-hero (though don't worry, current gen owners of the vanilla release can still get him). Today we got a look, a very brief one, at some of his arsenal.

On an episode of a Real eSports News, we got to see a look at Vergil gameplay from Special Edition. As mentioned, it's very brief, but you can clearly see him using his Beowulf gauntlets, which fans of the series will be familiar with, and switching to some sword attacks. It's unclear if that will be his entire arsenal and this obviously isn't an extensive look (thanks to DMCInfo on Twitter for providing the exact clip).

Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition will release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S at each system's respective launch with a physical release set to come December 1st. It will also feature a lot of different graphic options, which you can read more about through here.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Trailer Outlines Influence of Norse Mythology

assassin's creed valhalla

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is out in one week, taking players to Anglo-Saxon England as they lead a band of Vikings. It's a pretty big shift in tone, especially from Assassin's Creed Odyssey, due to the influence of Norse Mythology. In a new trailer, narrative director Darby McDevitt talks about it, especially with other influences rising up at the same time.

Odin, Freja and Loki are mentioned along with how the Vikings regarded their gods. A brief look at Asgard is provided along with its bright of light, the Bifrost. Protagonist Eivor can travel to this realm with the helm of Valka, the Seer, though their influence on it remains to be seen. But don't be surprised if Odin or even Thor is an actual character here.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla is out on November 10th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC and Google Stadia. It will become available for PS5 on November 10th. Post-launch support includes two paid expansions, seasons and Discovery Mode – check here for more details.

It's hard to believe, but in a week's time we will finally get to new generation consoles. 2020 has felt like something of a forever year with everything going on, and who knows what the year's end will bring, but for those who managed to get one, at least you can enjoy some new toys. We have a pretty good idea of what games you'll be able to play, but what about your favorite streaming apps? Well, it looks like they'll all be there more or less.

In a news post on Xbox Wire, it was confirmed that most major streaming apps will be available day one for Microsoft's new machines. Probably the newest one is Apple TV, a first for the ecosystem, but all the old favorites will be here: Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Disney Plus, YouTube, Peacock and a huge list of others. You can see most of the full list of supporting apps at the post through here. Some apps will also take advantage of the Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support the systems will offer, which you can read more about through here.

Fortnite – Xbox Series X/S, PS5 Improvements Include Faster Loading and 60 FPS Split-Screen

Fortnite_02

Epic Games' Fortnite comes to Xbox Series X/S and PS5 next week, sporting enhancements to take advantage of both consoles. It will launch on November 10th for Microsoft's consoles and November 12th for PS5. Official details on next-gen improvements have been revealed and there's quite a bit to take in.

The Xbox Series X and PS5 will both run the game at 4K/60 FPS and offers a more dynamic world with improved effects for storms, clouds, liquids and so on. They also benefit from improved texture loading and getting matches faster. Split-screen players will also be happy to note that it runs at 60 FPS on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.

PS5 players can expect support for the DualSense's haptic feedback and adaptive triggers along with Activity integration. If you want to jump straight into Solos, Duos or Squads from the Home screen, then go for it. It's worth noting that the game runs at 1080p/60 FPS on the Xbox Series S.

Of course, this is only the beginning for the free-to-play battle royale with a migration to Unreal Engine 5 planned for mid-2021. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Marvel's Avengers Permanently Discounts Emotes, Takedowns

marvel's avengers image

Square Enix's Marvel's Avengers has been seeing its fair share of struggles since launch, despite digital sales being fairly good. So at the very least, fans can purchase some of its cosmetics for a reduced price. After an in-game event that discounted the prices on takedowns and emotes by 50 percent, Crystal Dynamics confirmed (as noted by PC Gamer) that those would be the new prices going forward.

It's unknown whether this will apply to costumes as well – they're not mentioned but are still discounted. If you were planning on splurging real money for any cosmetics, now might be the best time. Or at least until the hypothetical next discount that occurs in another two months.

Marvel's Avengers is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. It was slated to launch for Xbox Series X/S and PS5 next week but those versions have been delayed into 2021. New story content centered on Kate Bishop as the latest hero has also been delayed. As always, stay tuned for more details on a new release date.
