Football Manager 2021 Beta Version Is Now Available on PC

Football Manager 2021

Less than two weeks prior to the game's launch, you can now start your career in Football Manager 2021 on Steam and Epic Games Store, and help developers to address bugs and technical issues.

According to the official website of Football Manager, the Beta version of the next entry of the franchise is now available for all PC players that have already pre-ordered the game on Steam or Epic Games Store. The game is set to be launched on November 24th, but the Beta version doesn't have anything less than the full edition, except the fact that it's a little bit unpolished. If you start your career right now, you will be able to carry over your progress into the full version of the game at launch.

The developers encourage players to jump into the Beta phase by offering 10% off for those who pre-order the game as of now until it's launch later this month, lowering the price down from $49.99 to $44.99.

Football Manager 2021 will have some significant changes compared to the previous entries. First of all, the game will now allow you to have more control over recruiting new players. There will be some pre-match and post-match events with the purpose to give you more chances to interact with media and express your feeling about the different aspects of a match. Below, you can check out some of the new key features of the game:

For the first time ever since 2008, the Football Manager series will target an Xbox launch with the new iteration. Football Manager 2021 will be available on Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Xbox One on November 24th along with the PC version of the game. It will support Play Anywhere on Xbox, which allows you to play the game on Windows 10 as well, without being charged again. The game will also be available on Nintendo Switch, Android, and iOS at a later date.

The Last of Us Part II and God of War Benefit From DualSense Features on PS5

Excited Sony fans will currently be eagerly awaiting their brand new next-gen console as it finally releases tomorrow. The PlayStation 5 will say goodbye to the PS4 and lead the way into a thrilling fresh adventure for players around the world with more features than you can shake a stick at. If you are looking to play God of War or The Last of Us Part 2 for the first time or to experience it again on your new console, the games will apparently make use of the PS5 DualSense controller's adaptive triggers.

According to a member of the staff at GamesRadar, the difference between using the PS4 controller and the PS5's DualSense controller in The Last of Us Part 2 was immediately apparent when running in backwards compatibility especially so when in a fight sequence. The haptic feedback on the DualSense kicked into play via the adaptive triggers when you draw the string back on the bow and also when firing your gun. While Ellie is controlling the boat on those stormy waters in The Last of Us Part 2, the haptic feedback came out to play here too and began to vibrate in tune with the boat's engine. If you're not the most graceful of drivers and end up knocking in everything in your path, the DualSense picks up on this and gives off feedback.

Moving onto God of War, GamesRadar said that in combat the DualSense created a layer of immersion when opening Kratos' shield or throwing his Leviathan ax, so much so that they could feel the intensity in the controller immediately. Developer Santa Monica Studio recently shared details on PS5 backward compatibility support on God of War more specifically that players will be able to run the game in 60fps, and will also let players transfer their save files from the PS4 version to pick up where they left off. God of War III Remastered will also feature save transfers from the PS4 version, too.

For those who haven't been able as yet to preorder a PS5 or are just as happy with their PS4, Sony has launched a new PS5 Remote Play app that is now available on the PS4 that has popped up on the dashboard of the console. The PS5 Remote Play app will allow users to stream games from their next-gen console to the PS4 and play with the DualShock 4, but in order to remotely play PS5 games, you'll have to enable the feature from the newer console beforehand in the system settings.

The PS5 will launch on November 12, 2020, in select countries, followed by its worldwide launch on November 19, 2020

Pokemon HOME Finally Adds Pokemon GO Integration

Pokemon GO Pokemon HOME

The Pokemon HOME service was announced last year, before releasing in February 2020. It allows players to transfer their Pokemon across different titles through the use of a handy app. It was designed with the Nintendo Switch in mind and released just a few months after Pokemon Sword and Shield.

Initially, players who owned both Pokemon Sword and/or Shield and Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu and/or Eevee, would be able to freely transfer their Pokemon between the two games, helping complete their 'Dex and move their competitive Pokemon across games. That left Pokemon GO players without access, however. That was until now.

As of right now, Pokemon GO players who are at the max level, 40, will be able to transfer the Pokemon they've caught to Pokemon HOME and then across to Sword or Shield from there. There are some caveats with that, however, some which include extra charges.

Players will have to use the "Pokemon Transporter" in Pokemon GO to move their Pokemon to HOME. This item only has a certain amount of "energy", however, which depletes with every Pokemon transferred. How much energy is used depends on the type of Pokemon and whether it's shiny, legendary, mythical or otherwise.

The Transporter has a maximum capacity of 10,000 energy, with shiny legendaries taking 9,000 out of that 10,000 straight away. While the Transporter naturally recharges by itself, it takes almost exactly a week to go from nothing to maximum capacity, meaning players who were looking to do mass transfers are out of luck. Unless they pay that is.

To recharge the Transporter, players can pay with Pokemon GO's premium currency, Pokecoins. If the Transporter is completely empty, the cost to recharge is 1,000 coins, equivalent to $10, however, this does drop based on how much energy the Transporter has.

In slightly better news, The Pokemon Company has confirmed that players will in fact get access to Gigantamax Melmetal for the first time. This mythical Pokemon can be received via the mystery gift option in Pokemon HOME. Players will also get a Mystery Box within Pokemon GO when they make transfers to Pokemon HOME, giving them the opportunity to catch plenty of Meltan.

UK Customer Receives "Broken" Xbox Series X That Crashes With Green Dots

xbox series x

People around the world started to receive their pre-ordered Xbox Series X / S consoles yesterday, and while many spent time waiting for the Destiny 2 servers to come online, and we even saw Xbox Live go down for a significant amount of time, one person had received a defective Xbox.

As reported by HullLive, Dane Weymes pre-ordered an Xbox Series X in the UK from the retailer, Smyths Toys. Dane visited the store to pick the console up when it opened. However, upon getting it home it appears as if his next-generation console is broken, to what he describes as the consoles appearing "dead" and that it "constantly crashed".

Images on HullLive show that Dane seems to have been able to at least install games and set the console up, and in one image shows a series of green dots scattered over the screen at a Call of Duty Warzone menu. Dane says that the console shows these dots and "crashes all the time." It's unclear if this issue is present across the entire Xbox console or if it's just isolated to Warzone and if there are external elements involved.

Dane is apparently in talks with Microsoft on what can be done to fix the console, and the retailer he received it from says it's unable to help. The Xbox Series X / S is in incredibly low supply, but the demand for the console is high, so being given a console that seemingly doesn't work as intended is a major blow. Whether this issue would require a new console or just an update of sorts is obviously something we don't know yet. If the issue is present for others then Microsoft will most likely address it publicly.

This gets me curious though, have you received a new Xbox console and faced any problems with it since setting it up? I received the Xbox Series S yesterday, and while the console itself is working fine, I've been having issues with drift in the right analog stick. Certainly irritating while playing Rocket League!

Fall Guys' Latest Cosmetic Comes From Untitled Goose Game

Fall Guys Untitled Goose Game

The Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout cosmetics crossover train keeps on rolling. Recent highlights include skins based on Sonic the Hedgehog, Godzilla and Gris and now, there's a new goose in town.

Teased throughout the week, then confirmed via a Twitch live stream, is a new skin based on the titular protagonist from the viral hit Untitled Goose Game. The costume is exactly as you'd expect. A giant white goose with an orange beak and orange feet and it represents its source material very well, minus the honking.

The team showed off the skin wearing their own horrifying home-made goose costumes and confirmed that it would be available via the Fall Guys shop in just a couple of days. From November 13 players will be able to dress their beans up as their favourite goose, for the likely fee of 10 crowns.

Yesterday, Fall Guys received its Season Two mid-season update. The update came loaded with new content, changes and bug fixes. Of the new content, the most exciting for players is a brand new level. The level, titled Big Fans, falls into the ever-popular race category and sees players scramble across a range of giant fans to reach the finish line and qualify.

In the update, developers Mediatonic also made some changes to the existing levels, including adding new hazards and the creation of some new playlists. It also quashed some rather large bugs including some on two of the finales. Players will thankfully no longer randomly drop through the floor on Hex-A-Gone.

The medieval second season has been live since the start of October, so these new changes and fixes are more than welcome, helping keep the game fresh as we slowly approach Season Three.

Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is available now on both PC (Via Steam) and PS4.

Xbox Series X Production During a Pandemic Detailed

Xbox Series X

In 2020, the world fell to its knees due to the coronavirus pandemic as cases began to spread across the world. In March, many countries threw themselves into lockdown, seeing companies of all types being forced to close down unless otherwise essential. This was the case for video game manufacturers and studios, and in a new Bloomberg feature, the production of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S is detailed.

"Everyone has a plan until a global pandemic punches you in the face," Marketing Chief at Xbox, Jerret West tells Bloomberg. And really, no one, not even the government had planned on how to manage a pandemic that has seen 10.3 million new cases and 240k deaths according to The New York Times.

With employees working from home due to Microsoft closing doors, the company had to find ways for employees to still work efficiently on personal hardware. Bloomberg reports that Microsoft shifted to using cloud computing tools alongside improving its network infrastructure. But it was also game development that took a hit, as specific roles were reliant on equipment and tech that were only available in their studios.

It's detailed that Microsoft repurposed its xCloud dev app that allowed for testing and creating games over the internet. It was tinkered with and allowed teams to access high-end hardware at the office, from the comfort of their homes. "Nearly 60 studios, including some of Microsoft's own […] used the tool to develop and test their games. Microsoft also used it to fix bugs with the hardware."

Employees at Turn 10 Studios, the studio behind Forza Motorsport had been working from home as well, but when it became apparent that it still wasn't safe to return to the office environment, Alan Hartman, Vice President of the studio told employees to go to the office and grab what they need and take them back home. "I had people literally piling hundreds of pounds of equipment into the trunks and backseats of their cars." Despite this, the next Forza Motorsport game still doesn't have a release date, as Hartman explains, "It's like molasses in the gears; it [the pandemic] just slows everything down,"

Phil Spencer, head of Xbox told Bloomberg "Having Halo and an Xbox console launch at the same time was something that was going to be a cool moment for us,". Halo Infinite was due to be a launch title, but the game was delayed, and recently lost its director. However, Phil Spencer feels the new release period for Halo Infinite could benefit the company as Bloomberg writes, "The new timing for Halo Infinite could work in Microsoft's favor, Spencer said, if it can help sell more consoles when supply catches up with demand."

The Xbox Series X and the Xbox Series S has officially been launched, and you can read the full feature on Bloomberg.

Rocket League PS5 and Xbox Series X/Series S Enhancements Detailed By Psyonix

Rocket League One Million

Going on five years strong since its release, Rocket League has continued to build an extensive player base around the world and on numerous different platforms. With the next-gen consoles on the horizon, players looking to continue scoring goals and playing with friends in the car-soccer title will continue to be able to play on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/Series S, with developer Psyonix detailing what to expect from its next-gen enhancements.

Ahead of the new console launches, Psyonix has officially released more details on the next-gen enhancements coming to Rocket League. Breaking down the updates in a new blog post, Psyonix announced that Rocket League will support 4K/60fps on Xbox Series X, 1080p/60fps on Xbox Series S, and 4K/60fps (checkerboard) on the PS5. Additionally, the developer noted that the Series X version will also have the ability to play in 2688×1512 resolution at 120fps, while the Series S version can run at 1344×756 resolution at 120fps, but the PS5 will not support a high framerate mode for the game at launch.

Psyonix noted that the game's performance and visual settings will be dependent on which platform you're playing on, and that options to switch between its "Quality" and "Performance" modes (which prioritize resolution or framerate) will be available in an update later this year. Additionally, the studio also confirmed that player progress and cosmetic items will carry over by linking an Epic Games account.

Rocket League is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux, with the game also receiving next-gen enhancements for PS5 and Xbox Series X/Series S.

Genshin Impact Official Twitter Apologizes After Auto Retweeting A Dick Joke

Genshin Impact campaign

The Japanese twitter account for Genshin Impact (PC, PS4, PS5, Mobile, soon on Switch) recently got trolled into retweeting a dick joke through its follow and retweet campaign. Ever since the JRPG's launch on September 28, miHoYo is organizing a release commemoration Twitter campaign in Japan.

Each day, those who follow and RT a specific tweet on the Genshin Japanese twitter get a chance to win some prizes. Including goods of the characters like acrylic stands, mouse pads, postcards, badges. Then there are 10K Yen Amazon gift cards up for grabs. And last but not least, autographs from the game's seiyuu (Japanese cast). Genshin Impact is full of highly popular and talented seiyuu, so even those who aren't actually playing the game are competing for these signatures.

Each week, the Genshin account sends a huge wave of automated tweets, notifying those who won the RT campaign, and most notably, those who lost. These automatic tweets @ every account who participate in each campaign, always including the Twitter users' handles. The Genshin Impact Twitter account sends tens of thousands of tweets this way every week, making the account's feed pretty unusable if you check the tweets & replies category. This also explains why the Genshin official account is already over 2 million tweets.

Seeing all that, someone decided to pull a prank on the Genshin account, by participating in the campaign with a Twitter account named "tintin_4545_19". In Japanese, you could read that as "chinchin shikoshiko iku", basically "dick fapfap cumming". It's the kind of dumb horny teens joke similar to writing "boobs" with your calculator. Inevitably, when the next batch of auto tweets for the campaign were sent, the dick joke account got its own @ tweet (now deleted) from the Genshin account:

The tintin_4545_19 account was deleted soon after participating in the campaign, which made the automatic tweet from the Genshin account appear as a normal tweet instead of reply, thus showing up on the main "tweets" feed.

Thousands of Japanese twitter users ended up retweeting the tweet before it was deleted. The official Genshin account then followed with an apology, reading:

"Apology and report regarding the "Genshin Release Commemorative Campaign": After midnight, November 7, a problem occurred with our auto reply function to notify the campaign's participants. We deeply apologize for the inconvenience caused to those who were on Twitter at that time."

The joke in itself is inoffensive, but it's interesting to note miHoYo's professionalism, addressing even pranks like these and trying its best to make the game an even bigger success. Only time will tell if Genshin manages to stay popular and relevant over the months.

In far less important news than this twitter dick joke, Genshin Impact will receive its first big update this November 11, version 1.1: A New Star Approaches. You can read more about it with our past coverage.

Phil Spencer Releases Message to Celebrate Xbox Series X/S Launch Day

If you haven't heard, that there Xbox Series X and S have both released around the globe today, officially kicking off Microsoft's move into the next generation of consoles. To coincide with launch, one of the most notable faces at Xbox has released a new message.

Over on Twitter, the official Xbox account shared a new video message from the company head, Phil Spencer. In his speech, Spencer thanked fans for their support but also acknowledged that today is somewhat bittersweet given the challenges that have been present in 2020. Regardless, Spencer said he wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate with fans around the globe regardless of where they might be engaging with the Xbox ecosystem.

You can find Spencer's full message here:

In its entirety, the message from Spencer wasn't one that contained any key pieces of information, but it was good to see him make a statement in collaboration with the release of the Xbox Series X/S. Perhaps more so than any other console manufacturer, Spencer over the years has always been someone that likes to speak directly to consumers in this manner. It's nice to see that even moving into the next-gen, this trend will seemingly continue.

For more on the Xbox Series X/S launch, you can check out the celebration stream below that will be starting at 2:00pm EST/11:00am EST. Conversely, you can also check out our own review of the Xbox Series X.

PS5 Remote Play is Now Available on the PS4

After a long wait, the PS5 is almost here to bring PlayStation fans into the next generation of gaming. Launching this Thursday, the PS5 will mark the end for the PS4 generation, but if you happen to still be keeping the system on hand, you can give the system a new life to stream next-gen games remotely.

Coming ahead of the launch of its next console, Sony has launched a new PS5 Remote Play app that is now available on the PS4, which should automatically appear on the console's dashboard. You can take a look at the app in action below:

Like the app originally available on the PS4, the PS5 Remote Play app will allow users to stream games from their next-gen console to the PS4 and play with the DualShock 4. In order to remote play PS5 games, you'll have to enable the feature from the newer console beforehand in the system settings. Additionally, it was also confirmed by Video Games Chronicle that PS5 Remote Play is not supported on the PS Vita, which is probably a bummer for anyone that still has the handheld. But at least you can still play JRPGs on it pretty well.

With next-gen in sight, the PS5 Remote Play app offers an incentive for those that might want to hold on to their PS4s to use the console as a secondary streaming device. Having used Remote Play myself a number of times on my laptop or phone with the PS4, it's not a bad idea to consider putting the PS4 in another part of your home if you're looking for a different place to play your (soon-to-be) new favorite next-gen games.

The PS5 will launch on November 12, 2020 in select countries, followed by its worldwide launch on November 19, 2020.
