Godfall is finally set to release in tandem with the PS5 next week on the console's launch date, but it seems like it won't be confined to the next-gen platform for long.

Disclosed in the game's new launch trailer that was unveiled earlier today, it was briefly stated that Godfall will only be a console exclusive for the PS5 for six months. Come May 12, 2021, the game is said to be losing this exclusivity, leaving the door open to a release on other consoles after that time.

Up until this point, Gearbox Publishing and Counterplay Games haven't announced any plans to bring Godfall to Xbox Series X, but the prospects of this coming to fruition now seem quite likely. Obviously, we won't know if this turns out to be the case for another six months or so, but given the fact that Counterplay is a smaller developer in the industry, it would make sense for the studio to want to bring its title to as many platforms as possible.

It's worth noting, however, that Godfall isn't strictly confined to the PS5 when it arrives next week. Despite being a console exclusive at launch, Godfall will also be releasing on PC as well. So if you're not picking up the PS5 and still want to play Godfall as soon as possible, you have another way of doing so.

As for us, we should have a review to share with you on Godfall at some point in the next few days and weeks. Up until now, it hasn't looked like the most impressive next-gen game that we have been shown, but perhaps the looter-slasher could prove to be a sleeper hit.

PS5 — Sony Details How to Transfer Data from PS4

In this age of modern video game consoles, one of the first steps that many folks look to take when upgrading their hardware comes with transferring all of their existing game data to that new, shiny machine. Luckily, when it comes to the forthcoming PS5, Sony has today provided us with some insight when it comes to carrying out this process.

In a new video posted to the PlayStation YouTube channel today, it was detailed how upcoming PS5 owners will be able to bring over their game data from the PS4 they might currently own. Depending on the data that you're looking to transfer, there are multiple ways to go about all of this. One of the most basic involves simply connecting both your PS4 and PS5 to the same WiFi network, signing into the same PlayStation account on both, and then transfer said data via your wireless Internet. Conversely, you can also link both consoles together with an Ethernet cable to make the move go faster.

The best part about this manner of transferring your data is that the PS5 won't be put on pause while it transpires. The moving of your data from PS4 will simply happen in the background, meaning that you can still use your next-gen console as you normally would.

The video also details other means of transferring data to PS5 as well. If you're looking to play PS4 games on the console and still own those physical discs, you can just pop them into the system and install them as you normally would on the current-gen model. Hard drives can also be attached to the PS5 so if you have an external drive that you currently utilize on PS4, you can seamlessly just plug it into the PlayStation 5 and you'll be good to go.

Lastly, game saves were also touched on and the process of bringing your active saves over to PS5 is largely the same as what we've seen on PS4. Assuming that you're a PS Plus subscriber, you'll freely be able to download any previous saves that you have on PS4 to your PS5 via the cloud. Conversely, you can also upload the saves to a USB drive and then transfer them over manually.

All in all, the entire ordeal of bringing over your PS4 data to PS5 seems very straightforward. Despite previous reports, let's just keep our fingers crossed that P.T. will be able to make the transition to next-gen as well.

Walmart Announces New Wave of PS5 Consoles Will be Up For Sale Throughout Release Day

PlayStation announced this morning that you won't be seeing any PS5 consoles sitting on store shelves this time next week. With the move to all PS5 units being sold online rather than in-store, however, the question still remained with whether or not retailers would have more consoles to sell on launch day. Fortunately, it looks like that will indeed be the case.

Retail storefront Walmart revealed this afternoon that it will have PS5 consoles going up for sale on its website all throughout the platform's launch date of November 12. Walmart says it will be making new units available over the course of the day in three-hour increments starting at 12:00pm EST. It hasn't been said how many consoles will be available in total throughout next Thursday, but this is definitely a welcome development for those who still haven't locked-in a pre-order.

Considering that Walmart already has a plan like this at the ready, it stands to reason that other storefronts will be doing something similar. As of this writing, other notable chains like Target, Best Buy, and Amazon haven't announced plans like this of their own, but if we hear anything from each of them in the coming days, we'll keep you in the loop.

At the end of the day, though, communication is key when it comes to this next wave of PS5s that will be for sale. Considering how botched PlayStation 5 sales were in the pre-order period, hopefully, prospective purchasers of the console will be able to put in some sort of plan of action this time around.

Outriders Details Post-Campaign Content in Latest Broadcast

The team at People Can fly finally dropped the fourth iteration of their Outriders Broadcast. It was a big one. For the first time, PCF pulled back the curtain on what players can expect to do once they finish off the campaign. I'm happy to say that it looks like you'll have tons to do. They have quite a bit of content ready to go for launch, and it seems like they're poised to add more if the game is successful. Check it out below.

It's important to note that the post-campaign content in Outriders contains exactly zero recycled content. That means each Expedition is a brand new, bespoke area. Now, they'll likely still have some of the same enemies and things like that, but the 14 Expeditions all have their own set of challenges and stories for players to uncover.

Expeditions also bring with them a new form of the world tier system from the campaign. Tiers in the post-campaign serve two purposes. As you progress through a tier, you'll unlock new content. Outside of that mission to mission progression, tiers determine difficultly. And, of course, the higher the difficulty, the better the rewards.

Speaking of rewards, PCF went into a ton of detail about how players will progress their character through the gear they pick up. Obviously, the game makes use of weapon drops; however, Outriders boasts a deeply customizable crafting and modding system that lets you tailor your gear to your playstyle. The video above provides a great primer, but essentially, know that you're going to have tons of tools at your disposal to make the exact character you want.

Destruction AllStars: PlayStation Details Its Game Modes

In a post on the PlayStation Blog, we've received new details on car combat game Destruction AllStars and its game modes. You can watch a new trailer for the game below.

At launch, the game will include four different modes.  Stockpile is a capture and control mode where you collect Gears dropped by other cars that are knocked out or wrecked. The player then has to get out of their car to pick the Gears up and try not getting hit by other cars. Next up is Mayhem which is the game's take on deathmatch. As a team or on your own, you just have to wreck as many cars as you can in the time limit. From there you can take your skills from Mayhem into Carnado, the third mode. This one requires more risk and has you sacrificing your car to the Carnado and getting in another car. Lastly we have Gridfall, which has 16 players fighting it out will there's one left standing. Additionally, the game features a training mode and challenges to complete.

In the PlayStation Blog post, George Rule, community manager at Lucid Games, confirms that the game will get new content throughout next year. The new content ranges from new seasons, new AllStars, challenges, and game modes.

Destruction AllStars was announced in June during PlayStation's Future of Gaming showcase. Last week, PlayStation announced the game will be delayed to next February and be a PlayStation Plus title. Originally, it was supposed to be a launch title alongside Spider-Man Miles Morales, Demon's Souls, and Sackboy: A Big Adventure. Now that it's a PS Plus title, it can get more players and exposure.

Sega Sammy Holdings Will Move Part Of Its Arcades Developers To Games On Consoles

Sega Sammy Holdings announced it will shift part of its arcades game development staff to consoles. Famitsu reached out to Sega Sammy Holdings regarding the news of Sega Group selling 85.1% shares of Sega Entertainment to Genda. The shares transfer, happening on December 30, 2020, means that most of the 200 or so Amusement centers and Game Centers owned by Sega in Japan will now be owned by Genda. It's likely many shops will be closed, however, as the sale was decided in the first place due to the crisis many shops are facing with the Covid-19 pandemic.

We detailed everything we know about the shares sale alongside some hypotheses and thoughts in a dedicated story. Overall, it's important to realize the shares sale is a business move by Sega. Perhaps the company will come back to Amusement centers management one day.

Here is our translation of the short exchange between Famitsu and Sega:

Famitsu: "Following the shares transfer to Genda, will the name Sega remain on Amusement facilities?"

Sega Sammy Holdings: "The stores' names will be inherited with the shares transfer. The stores will be operated by a new management, but we ask our customers to keep supporting them."

Famitsu: "We already know Sega will keep making arcade games and amusement machines, but how will this sale affect their development?"

Sega Sammy Holdings: "As you already know, Sega Group will keep developing Amusement machines. Sega Group will now shift part of its Amusement machines developing personnel to console games development, which is a growing market. We will continue to optimize the resources used on each sector according to the markets' changes."

When it comes to games, Sega Group develops arcades machines and games, Amusement machines such as crane games, and games on all consoles: PC, PS4, PS5, Mobile, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, etc.

Sega is launching Yakuza: Like A Dragon outside Japan on November 10. We also recently got 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim as well, and Sakura Wars on PS4. Sega also teased more Mini like consoles are coming in 2022 following the Mega Drive Mini, the Game Gear Micro and the Astro City Mini.

PS5 Launch Title Godfall Receives New Launch Trailer

With the PlayStation 5 releasing next Thursday, there's a ton of great launch games to choose from. From Bugsnax and The Pathless to Spider-Man: Miles Morales and Demon's Souls, the PS5's launch has something for everyone. Godfall is among that lineup and Gearbox Publishing has just released a launch trailer that shows off its story and gameplay. You can watch the trailer below.

At almost two minutes long, the launch trailer is a mix between CG cutscenes and gameplay footage. We get an idea of how the game's third-person gameplay works and the different weapons you can use. The weapons you can use range from swords and spears, to hammers and shields. Along the way, you'll face off against boss battles that test your skills and you become stronger once you beat them. Additionally, the trailer shows off some different environments you'll visit which all look amazing on the PlayStation 5.

For those that don't know, Godfall is a third-person fantasy looter-slasher from developer Counterplay Games. You'll be able to play it alone or online with friends. Since it's a PS5 launch game, it'll use features such as adaptive triggers and haptic feedback.

Godfall was announced last year during The Game Awards as a PS5 exclusive. It wasn't until this September when it was confirmed that it'll be a launch title. Similar to games like Destiny 2 and The Division 2, Godfall will require a constant internet connection, in addition to a PS Plus account. More recently, Gearbox announced the PC specs you'll have to reach in order to play it there.

Godfall launches on PlayStation 5 and PC on November 12. It's available for preorder on Amazon now. The PlayStation 5 releases the same day and on November 19 worldwide. Kerbal Space Program 2 Gets Pushed Back to 2022

The last time we heard anything big out of Kerbal Space Program 2 it was the news that the game was being delayed until 2021 due to COVID-19. Unfortunately, news came down today that the team is pushing the game back even further. While the reasoning this go-around is a bit more nebulous, it's important for devs to take the time they need to develop great games. After all, I'm sure most KSP fans would prefer a well-cooked dinner over a rushed trip to the gas station for a can of tuna and some Cheetos.

For those who haven't played the original, Kerbal Space Program 2 is all about creating your own rocketship program. The game takes a sandbox approach to gameplay, letting you mess around to your heart's content. The sequel builds on the original in some neat ways. Most notably, it will include a new multiplayer mode that should make for even wilder hijinks.

Other additions include things like new propulsion methods, habitation modules for on-surface building, and interstellar travel. That is quite the list of things I know absolutely nothing about. Which, to be fair, is sort of Kerbal Space Program for me. It's a game I love to watch people mess around with, but struggle to make much progress myself. So, while I'll likely enjoy KSP2 from afar, I'm very excited to see all the new stuff the team has dreamed up.

Kerbal Space Program 2 is set to launch sometime in 2022. The game was originally announced for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. However, it wouldn't be surprising to see those platforms shift given the new launch date.

Spider-Man: Miles Morales Commercial Has Arrived One Week Before Launch

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is almost surely going to be the go-to game that many look to pick up alongside their PS5 consoles next week, and prior to that much-anticipated date, Sony has today made the wait until launch a bit easier.

A new commercial for Spider-Man: Miles Morales was released this morning which shows off the titular hero in action whooping up on some local thugs. The video, which doesn't feature any actual gameplay, highlights Miles as he looks to move into the role of becoming Spider-Man. The trailer itself kicks off with Miles reminding himself of this fact before turning on some tunes and proceeding to lay the smackdown on some baddies.

When it comes to the commercial itself, it continues to be of the same high quality that we've come to expect from PlayStation over the years. Any time there is a major new first-party release, Sony seems to throw together a CGI trailer like this one. Previous standouts have included videos for God of WarDeath Stranding, and The Last of Us Part II to name a few. While commercials like this never make or break the game itself, it's a cool trend that I hope Sony continues throughout the PS5 generation.

Patches Continue to Improve Horizon Zero Dawn on PC

Since its launch on PC this past August, Horizon Zero Dawn has had some unfortunate technical difficulties. From the get-go, the game had stability issues, different graphics settings didn't function properly, it was a mess compared to its PS4 counterpart. Thanks to a number of patches and updates, the number of issues has come down, but there is still a number to go. That being said, the latest patch for Horizon Zero Dawn drastically lowers the number of serious fixes the game desperately needs.

The full list of patch notes, which can be viewed on developer Guerrilla Games' site here, boils down to a decently sized list of graphical fixes, along with the introduction of some new problems. Starting on the good side of things, anisotropic filtering and motion blur finally work correctly, although players will probably want to turn the second of those off.

Another improvement comes in the form of the removal of a mandatory shader optimization process when first launching the game. When I reviewed Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, this process actually caused my game to crash and slowed down my entire computer until I was able to force close it, so seeing it go away is pretty fantastic. From here on, shaders will be pre-optimized in the game's menu, but will also change dynamically in-game.

Of course, patch notes for Horizon Zero Dawn wouldn't be complete without some new issues to list off. Players with high-end 16 core CPUs might end up with unstable performance in-game, and those with HDR enabled may not see any actual difference.
