DOOM Eternal Coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC on December 3rd

doom eternal

After debuting first on Xbox Game Pass for console, id Software's DOOM Eternal is bringing its brand of ripping and tearing to PC subscribers. It will arrive on December 3rd on Xbox Game Pass for PC. New content is also coming with the Super Gore Nest receiving a Master Level.

Completing challenges in the new Master Level will net players the Gold Combat Shotgun skin. But Super Gore Nest's Master Level is interesting because it also introduces Classic Mode. This starts the player with only a Combat Shotgun and they must clear the map, picking up all of their weapons and mods along the way.

It's intriguing and actually meshes well with DOOM Eternal's focus on enemy weaknesses. Competing Classic Mode will net players the Classic Green Slayer skin. DOOM Eternal is currently available for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Google Stadia. It will finally arrive for Nintendo Switch on December 8th and eventually for for Xbox Series X/S and PS5.

As for this month's Game Pass offerings, stay tuned for more details especially with Remedy's Control apparently being teased as a new addition.

King Arthur: Knight's Tale Enters Steam Early Access in January 2021

King Arthur - Knight's Tale

NeocoreGames of The Incredible Adventures of Van Helsing fame has something a bit different coming up next year. It's called King Arthur: Knight's Tale and is a turn-based tactical RPG that will release for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. PC users will get to experience it first when it launches for Steam Early Access on January 12th 2021.

The developer noted that early access would be for a few months with the PC version launching early next year. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players can get their hands on it "later." As for what to expect, players will essentially control Sir Mordred and explore Avalon with a party of heroes, taking on quests and making different decisions.

There will be over 30 heroes with five different classes but they can die permanently so caution is advised. As each hero levels up, they can equip better loot and learn new skills. Based on your decisions, they may even become your enemies. Overall, King Arthur: Knight's Tale looks interesting especially with features like 20 story missions, over 50 points of interest on the map and 10 major boss fights. Stay tuned for more details on it in the coming months.

Worms Rumble is Out Today for PS5, PS4, and PC

worms rumble

Team17's Worms series has a history of releasing fun, accessible multiplayer games, and though Worms Rumble is trying something different, it's still looking very interesting. As the first 3D game in the series, it's looking to do some new things, and it's out today for everyone to try out.

Worms Rumble has launched with three maps and three playable modes, but developer Team17 plans on adding more content to the game with post-launch updates. Cross-platform play across all the systems it's available now is also supported. Curiously enough, it's currently only available on PlayStation and PC, so whether or not it will come to Xbox and Switch (or other platforms) remains to be seen. In the meantime, check out its launch trailer below.

Worms Rumble is available on PS5, PS4, and PC. The game will also be available for free to all PlayStation Plus subscribers throughout the month. You can learn more about the game and Team17's post-launch plans for the multiplayer title in our interview with lead designer Adam Findlay through here.

Chronos: Before the Ashes is Out Today

Chronos Before the Ashes_07

Remnant: From the Ashes has been a massive success for Gunfire Games and THQ Nordic, and it's still going strong- but it wasn't the first Souls-like game Gunfire Games made. In 2016, they launched the action RPG Chronos exclusively for VR, and now, they've retooled the game and brought it over to non-VR platforms as Chronos: Before the Ashes.

The dark fantasy action RPG, set in the same universe as Remnant: From the Ashes, serves as a prequel to the 2019 shooter RPG. Though relatively more of a "light RPG" when compared to Remnant, the game offers a similar Souls-like structure and leans on challenging, deliberate combat like Remnant. Check out its launch trailer below to get a better idea of what to expect.

Chronos: Before the Ashes is out now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Get more information on the game in our interview with the developers through here.

Fall Guys Season 3 Will be Revealed at The Game Awards

fall guys

Last week, Mediatonic revealed that Fall Guys' third season would have a wintery theme, and while we're still waiting for some more details to be shared on that and when to expect it, the developers have taken to Twitter to drop some more teases.

Through recently shared images, they've revealed that penguins and massive Christmas bells are somehow going to be involved. The penguin is called Pegwin, while Mediatonic have started a poll on Twitter with several options, with the winner being decided as the name for the Christmas bells.

\Right now, Ringus Dingus is far ahead of all the other options with a healthy lead, so it's looking likely that that's going to be the winner. Considering the fact that Fall Guys has a huge hammer called Big Yeetus, that won't be the weirdest name the game has gone with for something.

Meanwhile, it also looks like season 3 is going to be revealed in full at The Game Awards on December 10, based on what the developer said in the tweet revealing the penguin Pegwin.

Fall Guys is currently available on PS4 and PC. Recently, it was revealed that the game had sold 10 million units on Steam alone.

Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Update Increases Weapon XP For Multiplayer And Zombies

call of duty black ops cold war

While it took a little longer to get here this year than previous ones, this year's Call of Duty title, Black Ops Cold War, is now here. As always, the game is a fun romp, even if we weren't as hot on the multiplayer this go around. The game will also be with us for a year more or less as the main title, which includes fixes and updates, of which the latest should make some people pretty happy.

Weapon progress has seemed slow to a lot of players this go around, and it seems Treyarch has moved to fix that with the latest update. Both in the main multiplayer as well as zombies, you now have more weapon XP to help you get better weapons just a little quicker. There is also a fix for a small glitch on the new Nuketown '84 map. You can read all the patch notes below or see them through here.

Fallout 76 Helped Bethesda Understand What Many Fans Expect From Their Games, Says Todd Howard

fallout 76 wastelanders

Fallout 76 had something of an infamous launch for all the wrong reasons. The game was flat out broken in many ways, and it seemed Bethesda had snafu after snafu about the game. To their credit, they have done a lot of updating to it, something that continues to this day, to help improve what the game is, with many praising the current state of the title. Still, a lot of people were let down, and that's something Todd Howard acknowledges and says taught them a lot about what their fans expect.

Speaking with The Guardian, Director and Executive Producer of Bethesda Game Studios spoke about 76. There he acknowledges that the game's initial launch "let a lot of people down." He also says that 76, as well as their other online title, The Elder Scrolls Online, helped teach them that many of their fans want something akin to a single-player experience even with multiplayer titles.

"We have found that even if it's multiplayer, whether it's Elder Scrolls Online or Fallout 76, a large number of our players want to play it like a single-player game and not have the other players distract from it. Games handle multiplayer in different ways, and I think it all has merit."

Howard has expressed that the company would be open to doing more multiplayer titles in the future, but it sounds as if even if they do, it will probably have a solo-friendly approach from the get-go. Of course, by this time next year, the company will most likely be owned in full by Microsoft as well, so it's hard to say what the future holds one way or another in that regard.

Demon's Souls PS5 Guide – How to Unlock the Mysterious Door, and Best Starting Class

Demon's Souls PS5_01

As you've no doubt heard, there's a mysterious door in Bluepoint Games' remake of Demon's Souls that wasn't present in the original. This is located in Boletarian Palace behind the Tower Knight but what does it offer? Spoilers: It's a brand-spanking new set of armor based on a familiar foe.

As discovered by Distortion2 (check the YouTube video below), this is the Penetrator's armor. To open the door, you'll need to gather the new Ceramic Coins. These appear in Fractured Mode, which serves as a mirror mode for the game and could prove somewhat of a challenge. Make sure you're well-equipped before taking it on.

Best Starting Class

PS3 players who experienced the original Demon's Souls will know about the Royalty class. It's arguably the best starting class thanks to the spells it can wield and the starting items, namely Soul Arrow which is a good projectile spell and the Fragrant Ring which regenerates one MP per four seconds. You also get the Silver Catalyst, which increases MP by 20 percent, and the Silver Coronet helm which provides an additional 10 percent MP.

So essentially, put points into the Magic stat for more damage and into the Intelligence stat to learn additional spells. Useful items like the Ring of Magical Sharpness will increase spell damage and can be found in 4F of the Tower of Latria. Then there's the Insanity Catalyst, an upgrade for the Silver Catalyst that provides increased magic attack damage but 50 percent less MP overall. Pick it up with the Old Monk's Soul.

Now we get to the good stuff. Instead of the Insanity Catalyst, you can trade the Old Monk's Soul to Sage Freyke in the Prison of Hope for the Homing Soul Arrow. Soul Ray, a better version of Soul Arrow, can also be acquired from Freyke by trading the Doll Demon's Soul. Then there's God's Wrath, a Miracle obtained from the Dragon God's Soul. On top of dealing obscene damage, it also hits enemies through walls.

Last but not least, trade the Old Hero's Soul to Saint Urbain to get Second Chance. This is a Revival spell that triggers on death and resurrects you with 50 percent HP. It's simply perfect, especially for new players who want some extra insurance.

It's also worth noting that the Royalty class is equipped with the Rapier, which can be used to attack even if one's shield is raised. This makes it exceptional for parrying attacks but it deals some pretty good damage on its own. For more details on the best weapons, armor and rings in the game, check out our guide here.

Yakuza: Like A Dragon Update Adds Free Items And Weakness Indicator

Yakuza Like a Dragon

While it took quite some time for the game to finally leave Japan, Yakuza: Like a Dragon is here just in time for new console launches. The game takes the beat'em up gameplay of previous titles and shifts it into turn-based RPG combat. While some fans still aren't too pleased about that, we were fans, and now a new update is here with some extras to help you out.

The latest update is now out for consoles and it adds a few things. One is the Upstart Assistance Pack 2 which includes a new costume for Nanaba as well as a few material items. Oddly, despite not being mentioned in the patch notes, it also adds a great quality of life feature that we display when an enemy is weak to your attack, making it easier for you to plan out your strikes. The update is live now on all console versions, but has not rolled out just yet for PC.

Yakuza: Like a Dragon is available now on PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. A PS5 version will come in March of next year. A stream dedicated to the series will be December 8th and will have some kind of announcement to the future of the series.
