Mass Effect Legendary Edition Patch Features Fixes, Rebalances

Mass Effect Legendary Edition got a new patch today that brings a number of bug fixes, balance tweaks, and general improvements. General fixes include fixing errors that resulted in achievements and trophies not popping when they should, turning the lights on in some of the pre-rendered cutscenes (apparently, some of the lights were not on), making spoken English dialogue separate from English subtitles, improving PC performance for various hardware configurations, and several other "calibrations."

The fixes become a little more complicated when you go on a game by game basis. Mass Effect has seen improved eye animations for some male characters, fixed a bug that prevented characters from reaching the max level, and squashed another one that prevented some people from buying tier VII Spectre gear.

Over in Mass Effect 2, Illium's fog got toned down a bit and a character who unintentionally had red eyes in the Overlord DLC has had their eyes fixed. Mass Effect 3 had the fewest fixes, though a bug that prevented certain characters from properly appearing during the Citadel DLC has been fixed. This is by no means an exhaustive list. You can read the full patch notes here.

The game is set in Dragon City in the year 2046. While technology has advanced at a rapid pace and is widely available, the gap between rich and poor has only grown. The story follows "Xiang Zixu, a brilliant private eye, [who] is killed while investigating the disappearance of a famous female journalist. Immediately after his death, he wakes up with a start in his apartment bedroom. Before he can process what happened, his phone rings and his colleague at the agency tells him of a new case: the disappearance of a famous female journalist."

Elderand, Lovecraftian Metroidvania, Announced

Publisher Graffiti Games and developer Mantra announced Elderland, a Lovecraftian Metroidvania title, for consoles and PC today. Elderland is scheduled to launch in 2022.

According to the publisher, "In Elderand, players will experience a Lovecraftian inspired, story-driven action RPG game that forces players to use skill-based combat to take down deadly creatures. Explore and fight in a rich world to collect bountiful loot."

Elderland promises skill-based combat, a number of items, weapons, shields, relics and potions to discover and master, several lands to explore and master, characters to befriend, and monsters to fight. You'll also be able to haggle with shopkeepers for better items, which is a nice touch. Combine all of that with some truly gorgeous pixel art and, if the trailer is to be believed, a great soundtrack, and Elderland looks to be a winner.

The Division Series Won't be at Ubisoft Forward, New Content is on Track

The upcoming Ubisoft Forward presentation is starting to come together with the announcement of Rainbow Six Extraction. However, along with Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake, Ubisoft Massive's The Division 2 also won't be at E3 2021. In an official tweet, the developer said that it's "still hard at work" and that new content is "on track for the end of the year."

As for The Division Heartland, which saw its gameplay and details leak from a recent closed test, it will more tests available for those interested. More details on the same will be provided when the developer is ready. It's worth noting that the recently leaked BattleCat – a PvP shooter with characters from Ghost Recon Breakpoint, The Division and Splinter Cell – could still be announced at Ubisoft Forward.

Of course, it remains to be seen which development team is working on it so don't get your hopes up. Ubisoft has confirmed that along with Rainbow Six Extraction, Riders Republic and Far Cry 6 will be Ubisoft Forward along with additional content for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

Rainbow Six Extraction Officially Announced, New Teaser and Dev Team Revealed

Months of rumors and leaks later, Ubisoft has revealed the official new name for Rainbow Six QuarantineRainbow Six Extraction. A short teaser showcases the alien parasite that is described as "sentient" and "consuming" as it spreads throughout a facility. The world reveal is slated for June 12th, 12 PM PT at Ubisoft Forward.

A separate video discusses the development team which is "led by a senior team of veterans at Ubisoft Montreal and around the world." Producer Antoine Vimal du Monteil noted that the game has grown "a lot" since the initial announcement. The gameplay involves the tactical shooting of Rainbow Six Siege against an "always evolving" alien threat while the main goal seems to be leaving no one behind.

Previous leaks from the game's technical alpha hinted at the extraction part. Players would use airlocks to transition between different sections in a zone with the difficulty increased in response. Depending on how much intel was gathered, one could extract or locate more (presumably for better rewards). Stay tuned for more details and official gameplay from the title at Ubisoft Forward.

Warner Bros. Games – Upcoming Presentation Consists of Back 4 Blood Only

After the schedule for E3 2021 was revealed, many were excited at seeing Warner Bros. Games present. The company has numerous big games in development, from Hogwarts Legacy to Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad. Previously, it confirmed a PvP showcase for Back 4 Blood on June 13th at 2 PM PT, which seemed to be separate from the main presentation.

Unfortunately, it seems that will be the only Warner Bros. title present at E3 2021. The Summer Game Fest Twitter clarified that, "The Warner. Bros Games presentation is Back 4 Blood, there is not a separate event." So if you've been hoping for any new details, then you'll have to keep hoping (especially since many of Warner Bros. Games' releases have been delayed to 2022).

Hogwarts Legacy, Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad (along with whatever NetherRealm is working on) aren't the only titles that won't be seen in the coming week. Ubisoft recently confirmed that the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake also wouldn't make an appearance. Stay tuned for more information in the meantime as E3 2021 begins on June 12 and ends on June 15th.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake Won't be at Ubisoft Forward

Ubisoft is one of the many publishers gearing up for E3 2021 and revealed which titles would be appearing at its Ubisoft Forward showcase. However, one title was missing in the line-up – Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake. In an official tweet, the publisher confirmed that it would not be making an appearance at the digital event.

"We are making great progress for our game to release next year but we are not ready to share any additional information just yet. We will share an update as soon as we are ready." The remake was originally slated to release in January 2021 before being delayed to March. It was delayed again to a "later date" and this is the first mention of it releasing next year.

The initial reveal garnered some criticism for allegedly cutting corners on the graphics and presentation (with the developer stating that there had been "no cutbacks" in the budget or timeline). Very little new information or gameplay footage has been provided since the delays and it could be a while before we hear about it again. The remake is in development for Xbox One, PS4 and PC though it may also be in development for Nintendo Switch.

As for Ubisoft Forward, it takes place on June 12th at 12 PM PT. Titles that will be featured include the next Rainbow Six, Riders Republic, Far Cry 6 and more.

Battlefield 6 – Countdown to Reveal Trailer Livestream is Live

After cryptic messages sent to various content creators, various social media platforms glitching and whatnot, a livestream countdown to Battlefield 6's reveal trailer is now available. The game's official Twitter noted that all systems were "offline" and "rebooting" with the current loading at 10 percent. A clip with glitch animations can also be seen.

A recent leak indicated that the next Battlefield is called Battlefield 2042. This would seem in line with the futuristic setting that's been touted in previous rumors and leaked screenshots. Along with 128 player multiplayer modes, there will reportedly be new tools like a grappling hook and wingsuit, "specialists" with unique abilities for each squad and much more.

The reveal trailer is currently slated to go live on June 9th at 7 AM PT so expect even more teases and updates on the "loading progress" in the meantime. An alpha is rumored to be announced and made available at EA Play Live on July 22nd. The game will release in Holiday 2021 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Terra Nil Announced – Broforce Developer's Next Game Focuses on Environmental Restoration

Developer Free Lives, known for violent titles like Broforce and Gorn, has revealed its next game which is decidedly more tranquil. Published by Devolver Digital, Terra Nil is an open-ended strategy title that focuses on restoring the environment. A demo is currently available on Steam – check out the first trailer below.

With procedurally generated maps providing diversity in each playthrough, players are tasks with cleansing the soil, recycling buildings, restoring the climate and rejuvenating their surroundings. Multiple regions are available on the map with different requirements, plants and animals to keep in mind. There are also different weather patterns for each.

The hand painted environments and peaceful soundtrack definitely provide a more chilled out experience (with the developer promising that everything moves and breathes… aside from the rocks, of course). Devolver Digital hasn't provided a release date for Terra Nil (which is listed as "TBA" on Steam) but perhaps we'll learn more during its upcoming Devolver Direct. Stay tuned in the meantime.

Gearbox Teaser Website Seemingly Confirms Borderlands Spinoff "Wonderlands" for June 10 Reveal

Of the more than thirty games that will be shown off at Summer Game Fest Kickoff Live on Thursday, June 10, it's been confirmed that one of them is going to be a new announcement from 2K Games and Gearbox. Gearbox has launched a teaser website for the same – BeChaoticGreat.com – and it seems that website may have spilled the beans on what that game is going to be.

As reported by VGC, the code for the website has more than a few mentions of the game's name, which is seemingly going to be Wonderlands. So why's that significantly? Well, according to a recent leakBorderlands' spinoff is going to star Tiny Tina, launch later this year, and be announced imminently, so it's quite likely that this is what that was in reference of. According to the leak, Wonderlands is going to have core gameplay similar to the main Borderlands series, and will feature "multiclass heroes."

The game is set to be announced on June 10, so we'll know soon enough what it is. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more details until then.
