Red Dead Online: Blood Money Coming July 13

Players will be able to enter the burgeoning criminal underworld with the release of Rockstar Games' Red Dead Online: Blood Money on July 13, 2021.

Red Dead Online: Blood Money

Right-hand man and underboss to Angelo Bronte Guido Martelli is on the hunt for gunslingers, seeking out a valuable commodity known as Capitale. Bronte and Martelli want it back, and if he gets it, he will reward you with more worthwhile criminal opportunities. Note that no upfront investment is required.

Visiting Martelli's contacts will allow players to take on Crimes, which run the gamut from coach holdups to multi-stage robberies. One can tackle these missions as a lone gun or with a full Posse, keeping an eye out for Capitale along the way. Unlocked Homesteads and vulnerable Camps can also pay host to valuable Capitale.

Those that net enough Capitale can unlock Opportunities that are dispatched by Martelli in a scheme to stifle a Lemoyne senator that is disrupting operations. The first of three Opportunities will be available July 13; more will be revealed in due time.

New to the game is the Quick Draw Club, a series of four distinct rapid-fire passes that will arrive in consecutive installments during the coming months. Membership will entitle players to bonuses, reward and items – kicking things off with Dutch's outfit The Redcliff. Each consecutive pass purchased will allow players to earn additional perks and rewards. Each pass will cost 25 Gold Bars, which can be earned back by completing the Pass' 25 Ranks. Those who purchase all four passes will receive the upcoming Halloween Pass 2 on the house.

Skill and Satchel Pamphlets previously released via the Outlaw Pass will be placed on general sale at the Fence, while some of the oft-requested clothing items from Outlaw Passes No. 2 and No. 3 will make their return. This includes Outfits worn by the Van der Linde Gang, including Marston's outfit, The Clelland, Arthur's Haraway outfit, the Dedham outfit worn by Bill Williamson, and Javier's The Zapatero outfit.

Finally, this update will allow Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online to offer NVIDIA DLSS support to all Windows users with eligible NVIDIA GeForce RTX graphics cards. This will boost frame rates and generate sharp images.

Cosplay Wednesday – Monster Hunter Portable 3rd's Arzuros Armor

The world of Capcom's Monster Hunter is getting an RPG spinoff with Monster Hunter Stories 2. In honor of this title, Gamers Heroes takes a look at a spot-on cosplay from one of the female hunters.

Shown off at Animatruti 2012 in St.Petersburg, Narga-Lifestream got these shots of her in her Monster Hunter Portable 3rd's Arzuros armor cosplay. She is a fan of the series, and said that this is one of her favorite armor sets. The costume was made and worn by her, but her heavy bowgun (made by her and Aoki) is still in progress.

Frostpunk: Console Edition Expansions Coming July 21

Starting July 21, The Last Autumn, On the Edge, and The Rifts will all make their way to 11 bit studios' Frostpunk: Console Edition.

A prequel story set before the endless snow, The Last Autumn will task players with overseeing the rise of the base game's Generator. On the Edge follows the events after the Great Storm and has players building and maintaining an outpost far outside of the city. Finally, The Rifts brings with it a new map for Endless mode and bridges.

Learn more with the trailer below:

All Frostpunk Expansions coming to consoles! | Date Announcement Trailer

According to Kuba Stokalski, Lead Designer of Frostpunk:

"All expansions had to serve two purposes when we designed them. We wanted to broaden the lore since the game portrays people's hardship in the fight with nature, and we put a lot of emphasis on narrative, but also introduce new mechanics. We didn't want to go with delivering more fun that plays almost like the base game approach, and three expansions ended up being distinguishable from the base game but also each other. And we're happy that console players, at last, have a chance to play them. Thank you for waiting so patiently."

These expansions will come out for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Each one can be bought separately or in a Season Pass. A bundled Complete Edition that comes with the base game and the three expansions will also be available.

SnOut Review

Everybody's played Snake and Breakout, but what would happen if you played a game that combined the two? Aarjvark changes up the formula with SnOut, a game that combines ball bouncing and brick breaking with the graceful movements of a snake. Does this unorthodox combo work, or is there a reason it hasn't been done after all these years?

SnOut Review

Much like the classic Nokia game, players will take control of a snake that can move in four different dimensions. The world this long fellow inhabits is a small one, surrounded by a number of small blocks that mean certain doom the moment they are touched.

To make matters worse, SnOut introduces an ever-bouncing ball that continuously breaks the blocks of its world. Every time the ball bounces on the snake, the snake gets larger. The ultimate goal of the game is to bounce the ball off the snake as many times as possible without crashing into anything.

It's a simple premise at its core, and it works – at least in theory. The control scheme works just as you remember it, with players turning 90 degrees at the press of a button. In addition, the ball bounces at a steady pace a la Breakout and Arkanoid, working exactly as you'd expect it would.

However, the world of SnOut is just too small to make any serious sort of impact. It's far too easy to come face first with the ball, ending what could have been a great run. Though the world gradually gets bigger the longer one plays, the longer version of the snake makes it a bit tricky to get around. Although players can quickly get back into a new run after failure, it doesn't always feel rewarding. The whole package feels awkward, and a bigger playfield would have helped tremendously.

This can also be exacerbated by the coins that appear on the battlefield. While it serves the same purpose as the apples of Snake, they tend to spawn at the most awkward of spots. On more than one occasion, a coin would spawn in a dead end surrounded by blocks, with no chance to recover from that given spot. When that happens, it feels unfair, like the title wasn't designed properly.

Each run is judged based off of one's score, coins gathered, blocks broken, and time. Coins can unlock additional palettes and block styles, while one's score can be added to the all-time and monthly leaderboards. There's a fair amount of people on the leaderboards as of this writing, so the replayability is high for those looking to be the very best.

SnOut's combination of Breakout and Snake is great in theory, but the execution leaves something to be desired. There just isn't enough real estate to move around, and the awkward layout means that runs will be over sooner rather than later.

This review of SnOut was done on the PC. The game was freely downloaded.

Retro Racer Review

The vaporwave subculture may have fallen by the wayside, but everything old is somewhat less old with the release of Sweet Games' Retro Racer. Neon lights, synth sounds, and supercars all come

Slappyball Review

The game of volleyball gets a lot more slap-happy with the release of Goin' Yumbo Games Slappyball. Swapping out players for oversized hands, is this three-on-three sports game an ace?

Scarlet Nexus Review

Fully voiced and available on all major console platforms and PC (barring the Nintendo Switch), Scarlet Nexus definitely looks to be ticking all the right boxes, but does it boast a greater appeal
