DICE looks to be taking the health of the Battlefield 2042 community very seriously. Today, the developer outlined a number of initiatives designed to keep the game's community welcoming, as well as several key ways to counter cheaters and abusers.
For starters, Battlefield 2042 will be relying on the popular Easy-Anti Cheat (EAC) service to detect and ban cheaters. EAC is being used by Apex Legends and many other online games. Easy-Anti Cheat will be active during the upcoming beta, too.
DICE confirmed that it has a zero tolerance policy when it comes to cheating, meaning cheaters will be permanently banned immediately without warning or suspension. Because Battlefield 2042 supports cross-play, getting banned from one platform means you won't be able to play the game on any of them.

In the wake of PlayStation's acquisition of Bluepoint Games, the Demon's Souls remake released in 2020 for PS5 was revealed to have sold more than 1 million copies.
Sony has acquired another studio, one it's worked closely with for many years, Bluepoint Games. Bluepoint's president, Marco Thrush, and Head of PlayStation Studios, Hermen Hulst, discuss the acquisition, Bluepoint's future games, and more.
Capcom knows you love to hunt monsters so the company brought almost nothing but Monster Hunter news to Tokyo Game Show 2021. Here's everything announced in the developer's showcase.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition - which one could assume would contain remastered versions of Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City, and San Andreas - has been rated by Korea's Game Rating and Administration Committee.
As fans continue to wait for the release of Ghostwire: Tokyo, Tango Gameworks founder Shinji Mikami has revealed another new title is already in the works, and it's being led by Evil Within 2's director.
February 4, 2022 is getting closer and closer, and now's the best time to hop into The City and learn a little bit more about the large open world of Dying Light 2 Stay Human. Villedor's full of secrets, memories, and complex characters, and today, we're going to take a closer look at where to […]

The annual Game Awards hosted by Geoff Keighley returns as an in-person live event on Thursday, December 9. The event will be held at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles and will be live-streamed for free across over 40 streaming and social platforms. Last year's event was an online-only affair that, despite the limitations, managed to garner record-breaking viewership.
Details are still scarce about who or what will be at the show other than the return of The Game Awards Orchestra. Expect plenty of world premieres of new titles, musical performances, and as well as free playable demos for upcoming titles. For you streamers, The Game Awards fully supports co-streaming. Given that we're still in a pandemic, additional health and safety protocols will be shared in the coming weeks for those planning to attend in person.
Last year's show saw The Last of Us Part II clean up with numerous awards, including the coveted Game of the Year trophy. You can read the full list of award winners from 2020 here. To learn more about how it came to be, as well as a glimpse into how the yearly show is put together, check out this behind-the-scenes interview with Geoff Keighley.
So what games do you predict will run away with Game of the Year? Will it be a big-budget hit like Hitman 3, Returnal, Resident Evil Village, or Deathloop? Perhaps an indie darling like It Takes Two, Before Your Eyes, The Forgotten City, or Death's Door? Don't forget the games still to come like Metroid Dread, Far Cry 6, and, maybe, Halo Infinite (which launched a day before the show). Let us know your picks in the comments!
After years of making critically acclaimed remakes of PlayStation exclusives, Sony has finally brought Bluepoint Games officially into the PlayStation family. Announcing the acquisition on the PlayStation Blog accompanied by an announcement video on Twitter, Head of PlayStation Studios Hermen Hulst welcomed the new studio.
"With each of its projects, Bluepoint has raised the bar on console-defining visuals and gameplay, and the studio's vast expertise in world building and character creation will be a huge plus for future PlayStation Studios properties," Hulst said in the blog post about what Bluepoint brings to Sony's portfolio.
Bluepoint has made itself a top studio for developing game remakes by preserving the core spirit of the game while updating visuals and mechanics with modern sensibilities when it makes sense. The studio is known for releases like Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, 2018's Shadow of the Colossus remake, and last year's masterful PlayStation 5 launch title Demon's Souls. We aren't aware which game Bluepoint is working on right now, but whether it's remaking a classic (fingers crossed for an update to Bloodborne) or something new entirely, we're excited to play whatever it is.
How do you feel about Bluepoint Games joining the PlayStation family of studios? Which game would you like to see the remake masters work on next? Let us know in the comments!
As Tokyo Game Show takes off today, publisher Prime Matter pulled the curtain back on the first gameplay footage for Gungrave G.O.R.E. The sequel to the dormant Gungrave franchise has been in the works for some time, and if today's video is any indication, its bloody brand of over-the-top action seems to be coming along quite nicely.
The trailer below provides an extended look at the previously shown cinematic trailer, revealing new scenes before transitioning into footage of anti-hero Grave doing what he does best. That is, mowing down undead targets using his twin pistols and weaponized transforming coffin. Gungrave G.O.R.E. looks absurdly frenetic, which likely couldn't make fans happier.
Prime Matter also announced that former Platinum Games and Tango Gameworks designer Ikumi Nakamura is working on the game. You may remember the bubbly game developer from her endearing and viral presentation of Ghostwire: Tokyo during Bethesda's E3 2019 showcase. Nakamura formerly served as creative director for Ghostwire: Tokyo before departing Tango Gameworks in 2019. She also worked as a lead artist for The Evil Within series, Bayonetta, and Okami and formed her own independent studio this year. It's not clear what her exact role is on Gungrave G.O.R.E. other than she's working alongside developer Iggymob to help bring its vision to life. Senior Editor Blake Hester recently interviewed Nakamura and wrote detailed biography about her fascinating journey through the game industry, which you can read here.
Gungrave G.O.R.E. is slated for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC and launches in 2022.
What do you think about this first look at Gungrave G.O.R.E.'s action? Were you a fan of the previous entries or does this new title entice you to jump in for the first time? Let us know in the comments!
Capcom's Tokyo Game Show presentation this morning was all about Monster Hunter, showcasing new additions coming to existing games like Monster Hunter Stories 2 and Monster Hunter Rise. However, all eyes were on the significant expansion for Rise next summer, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.
The Sunbreak segment introduced us to Director Yoshitake Suzuki, who has been simultaneously leading the development of the upcoming expansion and the updates for Rise since release. He introduced the new mystery monster from the Sunbreak trailer as a new Elder Dragon called Malzeno, but that's all the information the devs were willing to spill on the headlining wyvern.
We were also treated with additional information on Sunbreak and what players can expect when venturing into its content. Suzuki confirmed Sunbreak will bring Master Rank hunts to the game, giving hunters their most daunting challenges yet. After completing the final Hunter Rank seven story mission, Players will leave the cozy village from Rise and embark on a journey to a new hub area. We don't know much about this new base, but Suzuki promises the team will share more information in the coming months.
One of Sunbreak's hunting locations will be the moonlit castle area, which debuted in the announcement trailer during last week's Nintendo Direct. At night the sky and crumbling, abandoned gothic architecture in this area are painted with an ominous red moonlight. As for other monsters you'll have to contend with on your way through Master Rank, the giant crab beast Shogun Seanataur is making its long-awaited return to the mainline series. Introduced initially back in Monster Hunter 2, this Carapaceon monster wears a giant skull on its back for protection and uses its long, sharp pincers as deadly weapons. Sunbreak will have many returning monsters, but those announcements will have to wait for another day.
Those looking to try out the base version of Rise on Switch have plenty of time to do so before Sunbreak releases in 2022. During the presentation, it was announced Rise will make its PC debut in January, with a demo coming in a few short weeks.
First up is a fun collaboration with Ghosts 'n GoblinsResurrection, which arrives on 29th October. It'll have an event quest in which you can earn the Arthur-inspired layered armour, and it'll even feature music from the tough platformer for good measure.
Darksiders III is now available on Switch, meaning that the entire series is now available to play on Nintendo's hybrid console.
As you may already know, this new Switch edition of the game comes with both DLCs (Keepers of the Void and The Crucible) included, and is available to pick up both digitally on the eShop and physically at retail. It's a hack-n-slash action-adventure where players take on the role of Fury, the third of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse:
Here's a bit of Donkey Kong trivia for you, and no mistake.
The Donkey Kong Jungle Action Special was an officially licensed British comic based on Donkey Kong Country for the SNES and published in 1995 by Fleetway Editions. Richard Burton (no, not that one) is listed as the Managing Editor – comic fans might recognise his name from the British sci-fi comic 2000AD, as well as the successful UK publication Sonic the Comic, which was also published by Fleetway.

The Switch version comes packed with 21 stages and costume customisation, as well as online and local multiplayer – the latter of which is exclusive to Nintendo's platform. Gang Beasts was first revealed for Switch in August during an Indie World Showcase, but was actually being considered for a release on the platform all the way back in 2017, can you believe?
Update: Korean rating confirms collection is coming.

Free-to-play game Genshin Impact made $2 billion on the Google Play and Apple App stores in its first year. That makes Genshin Impact the third most financially successful mobile game in the world, sitting comfortably behind Honor of Kings and PUBG Mobile. Excluding sales figures from China, Genshin Impact is the…
If you're still looking for one of the best graphics cards, take heart - even if supply is still well short of meeting demand, you can at least pretend to own the latest and greatest in GPU hardware, and it won't even cost you a cent. That's because Epic's regular distribution of free PC games is bringing us a gratis copy of PC Building Simulator.
You'll be able to grab PC Building Simulator from the usual Epic Games Store promotion page on Thursday, October 7 at 8am PDT / 11am EDT / 4pm BST. It'll be there for one full week, at which point it'll be replaced by another freebie. As always, you'll 'purchase' the game at a price of zero dollars, and it'll remain in your library just like any game you might pay money for.
As the store page describes it, PC Building Simulator lets you "build and grow your very own computer repair enterprise as you learn to diagnose, fix and build PCs. With real-world licensed components and comprehensive hardware and software simulation, you can plan and bring your ultimate PC to life."
Last week, we learned that China's crackdown on cryptocurrency mining could help improve consumer GPU availability. Unfortunately, while the Chinese government's virtual currency ban will benefit the gaming PC market, its mandated industrial power shutdowns could worsen the current situation.
For context, China's temporary industrial power shutdown is designed to curb the country's excessive emissions and cap energy carrier prices. Naturally, suspending energy supplies to manufacturing plans directly affects companies that serve the likes of AMD, Intel, and Nvidia's. So, the decision could affect tech manufacturing on a global scale, including the production of RTX 3000 series graphics cards.
TSMC and UMC, the two companies that help fabricate the best gaming CPUs, have essentially been given a pass by local authorities in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Guangdong. This is largely since both companies' continuous production cycles can't simply stop and start - at least not without consequences. Unfortunately, this doesn't help the likes of ASE Technology and GlobalWafers, who supply TSMC, UMC, and other tech titans with silicone supplies.
Searching for the best AUG Warzone setup? Now that all of the Call of Duty Cold War guns have made their way to the battle royale game, you have the choice between two very different AUGs. The Modern Warfare AUG is an SMG with an excellent fire rate, capable of killing enemies faster than some of the best assault rifles in Warzone.
Unlocking all of the attachments for this SMG will take a while, but you can transform this weapon into a mid-range monster with the correct loadout. There's also the Cold War AUG, a semi-automatic tactical rifle that fires in bursts of three. This variation of the AUG focuses on taking down enemies from a distance, allowing you to have the accuracy of a sniper combined with the mobility of an assault rifle.
Our AUG Warzone build guide covers both of these weapons to ensure you have the best AUG Warzone loadout possible. The MW AUG should be used as a secondary weapon in loadouts, whereas you may want to use the CW AUG as a primary weapon due to its long range capabilities. Many players in Warzone Season 5 Reloaded have been using the Modern Warfare AUG because of its impressive time to kill speeds.
Want to know where to find seeping stones and get New World oil? Confusingly, there are multiple different kinds of oil in New World. If you're looking for New World Fish oil, it's a simple process: you can obtain fish oil by salvaging caught fish, which you can learn how to do in our New World fishing guide. You can make New World cooking oil by combining two fish oil with one nut, or searching in the supply cart in towns, provided your New World faction controls the town.
Regular old oil is acquired from seeping stones. You need a level 20 mining skill level before you can mine seeping stones, but once you do you can harvest crude oil. You can use New World oil to create coatings at arcane repositories in town to give your weapons buffs against certain enemy types. Oil is also used in potion-making, and when making certain items of furniture. If you're heading into one of the game's many expeditions, including the New World Amrine Excavation, then you may wish to stock up on potions and weapon coatings to bolster your damage.
You can only find seeping stones in two areas: Weaver's Fen and First Light. Finding them early on can be tricky, especially if you don't have level 45 mining skill which unlocks the ability to track the stones; they appear as droplets on your compass at the top of the screen. They yield precious resources and give decent mining experience, so they're worth seeking out. We found a great New World seeping stones oil farming location for you to get oil early in the game.
Looking for the Call of Duty Cold War and Warzone Season 6 release date? A trailer for the latest season dropped earlier this week, marking the return of Russell Adler. In the previous seasons, Adler was captured and brainwashed by Stitch, but his mind has been restored thanks to Alex Mason and his team. With the NATO team back at full power, the squad is ready to uncover the mystery behind the Verdansk bombings.
Judging by the trailer, we anticipate Verdansk is in for a shake up as several buildings located downtown, including the stadium, have been completely destroyed. We've seen a few changes to the map - like the satellite crash sites - in previous updates, but the last few Warzone seasons have primarily focused on adding new weapons and addressing the long distance meta. This looks like the most drastic map change we've seen in a long time.
Season 6 is likely going to be Verdansk's swan song, before it's replaced with the new Warzone map set in the Pacific. If you thought the map changes coming in Season 6 look big, the Vanguard integration may well knock your socks off. Here's everything you need to know about Call of Duty Cold War and Warzone Season 6, including the release date, which operators are coming to the game, and what weapons are being added.
When it comes to picking the best SMG in Warzone, there are so many candidates to pick from since the Cold War guns made their way to the battle royale game. Warzone Season 5 Reloaded introduced a number of slight tweaks to the SMGs, but nothing significant enough to push them out of the meta.
For the longest time in Warzone, SMGs weren't very popular as most players favoured assault rifles and the best Warzone guns like the AMAX. While the changes introduced in Season 4 Reloaded primarily affect assault rifles, the balance changes also targeted SMGs by reducing their damage output. These changes hit all of the popular SMGs, including the AK-74u, the Bullfrog, and even the Milano 821.
If you're looking for a long-range option to compliment some of your best Warzone loadouts then here's our guide to the best sniper in Warzone. However, when you reach the final circle or need to cross some close-quarters streets to reach the next zone you'll be grateful you have the best SMG in Warzone.
Stellaris is fresh off a new major update that adds new content to old DLCs, as well as taking a large swing at balance and quality of life changes as part of the grand strategy game's custodian's initiative. While a hotfix was needed to address some newly introduced oddities, the team is largely looking towards its next release, which we're told will be sometime in November.
This week's dev diary is largely devoted to what the team is looking at next, with a general update on the situation going forward. "In the November 3.2 update, our strategy will be to be a bit less ambitious than the Lem Update, and to focus on a bit more safe improvements," the post reads.
The update after that is scheduled to drop in February, and will likely be a bit more "spicy", looking at introducing reworks of Unity and the sprawl mechanics. These particular changes were first mentioned in June, and given their nature the developers are likely to an open beta first.
It's finally official: Monster Hunter Rise is coming to PCs in January. The Monster Hunter Rise Steam release date was announced during Capcom's presentation at the Tokyo Games Show today, and it's set to launch January 12, 2022. The Steam edition of the co-op game will include a welcome suite of enhancements for PC, and there's a demo you'll be able to try out in a couple weeks.
When it arrives on PC, Monster Hunter Rise will support resolutions up to 4K and ultrawide displays, as well as "high framerates" (although the presentation doesn't specify whether that means you'll have the option to uncap the framerate). However, the PC version definitely features new high-res textures to go with the increased resolution over the Switch edition.
Capcom says it's also optimised keyboard and mouse controls for the PC edition, and you'll be able to use voice chat to communicate with your hunting party members. As with the Switch edition, you'll have a chance to try out Monster Hunter Rise ahead of the PC launch, with a demo that will arrive on Steam on October 13.
Another month, another batch of games headed to Amazon's Prime Gaming. Last month, members could get their hands on another classic LucasArts game - Sam & Max Hit the Road - as part of their subscription. For October, there's something somewhat related, though far newer and, well, Star Wars-ier coming to Prime Gaming - one of the best Star Wars games around, Star Wars: Squadrons.
Amazon has unveiled its October Prime games lineup, which is headed up by Motive Studios' 2020 space combat game. Launched just under a year ago, Star Wars: Squadrons sees you take to a galaxy far, far away in the first-person cockpits of starfighters across the Galactic Empire and New Republic navy. The game was pretty warmly received by critics, currently sitting at a score of 79% on Metacritic, while our very own Ian Boudreau gave it a nine-out-of-ten, concluding that, "after such a long wait for a successor to X-Wing and TIE Fighter, Star Wars: Squadrons feels like a lucky shot with a proton torpedo".
Elsewhere in October's mix of ten new Prime games is the 2014 survival horror game Alien: Isolation and 2020 cyberpunk game Ghostunner (which we scored an eight-out-of-ten in our Ghostrunner review).
We're due to land in Forza Horizon 5's stunning recreation of Mexico come November 5 and we now know what your gaming PC needs to get you in the driver's seat. Given that the game will also release on both the Xbox One and Xbox Series S|X, Forza Horizon 5's system requirements are understandably low. Even so, those with the best graphics cards and best gaming CPUs will be able to push their pedals to the metal with beautiful levels of visual fidelity and blisteringly high frame rates.
There's no news on PC-exclusive settings or features to help boost fps, such as Nvidia DLSS or AMD's FSR, but the developer confirms that Forza Horizon 5 will feature ray tracing. However, the intensive graphical setting will only be used in the game's 'Forzavista' model viewer and requires a compatible graphics card.
Like other new releases such as Far Cry 6, Playground Games recommends you install Forza Horizon 5 on a solid state drive. While this isn't necessary, the best SSDs offer massively improved loading times when compared to HDDs. Whatever your storage solution, you'll need a chonky 110GB of space available to accommodate Forza Horizon 5's vast open-world.
Want to know what this week's Destiny 2 Nightfall weapon is? Each week you've got a chance at a different weapon for completing Nightfall Strikes, and as of Season of the Lost, you can now get fan-favourite legacy weapons from the original Destiny. Two more of these weapons arrived in Season of the Lost, so it's more important than ever to know in advance the Nightfall weapon schedule.
In case all these words are new to you, Nightfall: The Ordeal is a playlist available in the Vanguard menu, alongside the basic Strike playlist. Each week, a different Strike is chosen as the Nightfall, and offered in five escalating difficulties, with harder enemies, challenging modifiers, and enemy power levels cranking up.
The coveted Nightfall weapons have a chance to drop from any Nightfall Strike difficulty, but it's far more likely at higher levels. Your best bet for farming each week's Nightfall weapon is to set the Strike to Master difficulty, according to YouTuber Aztecross. You should also note that there's no automatic matchmaking above Hero difficulty, however, so you'll need to get a squad together.
What is the GTA 5 podium car this week? GTA Online vehicles are expensive things, so we're happy to take a spin on the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel to get a discount. Winning isn't guaranteed, sure, but it isn't out of the question either. Look, we don't have a problem - leave it alone.
You can spin the Diamond Casino's Lucky Wheel once a day, and each Podium Car refreshes after seven days on a Thursday. Basically, you have seven shots to get the vehicle of that given week. If you own a Penthouse, you can spin it for free, but if you don't it's $500 a spin. Don't fret if you don't win, though, as you can win something else. You have a one in 20 chance of getting the podium vehicle, a car discount, or a mystery prize. There's a four in 20 chance of getting clothes, chips, and cash. Finally, there's a five in 20 chance of getting RP.
Keeping tabs on the GTA Online podium car can be a bother, though, so we're going to keep this GTA 5 guide updated so you have somewhere to check back on. On that note, here's the GTA 5 podium car for this week.
The GTA Online Los Santos Tuners update introduced plenty of new content, all focused on the city's underground tuner scene. There's a new 'social space', called the LS Car Meet, where you can show off your souped-up cars, race with fellow gearheads, and take on jobs - here's how to join the LS Car Meet in the Los Santos Tuners update.
Throughout your time spent in the Car Meet, you can level up your reputation and unlock new benefits as you progress. There's also a huge Test Track inside the warehouse, where you can try out Test Rides - a great opportunity to take different vehicles for a spin.
Becoming an LS Car Meet member sets you back $50,000 in-game bucks, but it grants you access to a bunch of underground shops - the Merch Shop, Tattoo Shop, and a Modding Area where you can tweak your car in real time. At higher levels, you can create your own customised area in the Car Meet, called a Private Takeover. LS Car Meet members can also compete in Prize Ride challenges, in order to be in with a chance to win a Prize Ride.
How do you claim Twitch Drops in New World, and can you still claim the Golden Rage armor? Twitch is an Amazon-owned platform and New World is a game developed by Amazon, so it's absolutely unsurprising that there's some crossover in the form of New World Twitch Drops.
In honour of the new DLC for Outer Wilds, this week on The Electronic Wireless Show Podcast we're discussing our favourite spaceships in games. In the process, while we do discuss some games, there is quite a lot of chat about the origin of the spaceship as 'space-house' - the hub area where all your pals hang out - both in games and in wider space media. Also, Nate has a great Cavern Of Lies that is Star Wars themed, and does indeed give us a terrible fright.
Digressions this week are a big discussion on Matthew's tooth situation, and a semi-argument about what planetary circumstances would be enough for me to agree to go into space (e.g. planet covered in really nice soup). Also: is Elon Musk's divorce the origin story for Warhammer 40k?
Want to know how to get iron ore in New World? Crafting is very important in New World, as it is in most MMOs. If you want to make new weapons or armour for your character, you'll probably end up needing some iron ore pretty soon.
This guide will walk you through everything that you need to know about Iron in New World, including how to get iron ore and what you can use iron ore to make.
What is the best armor in New World, and how do you craft it?New World is a game all about war and conquest, so naturally armor plays a large role and should be one of your first considerations when choosing your character's loadout. Fortunately, armor is abundant on Aeternum. Unfortunately, that can make it very difficult to decide what pieces to equip, especially as the game doesn't waste a lot of time explaining it to you. But luckily, that's what this New World armor guide is for.
Twitch yesterday launched new moderation options which let hosts restrict chat to people who have verified their account by tying it to a phone number, hopefully helping fight the plague of 'hate raids'. Frustrations with the livestreaming platform's ineffectual response to harrassment recently came to a head with the #ADayOffTwitch campaign, when many streamers and viewers skipped Twitch for one day. The new (optional) options are fairly nuanced, and should help channels control marauding hordes of bots and dickheads without keeping chat fully locked down.
NEO: The World Ends With You launched on PS4 and Switch a couple of months ago. I was surprised when it showed up on PC, honestly. While there's no way for PC players to have played the original game on this platform, this game is absolutely understandable without prior familiarity, although you'll miss out on some details. It's basically part visual novel and part action game, containing a lot of content for anyone interested in collecting pins and running around Shibuya. But the question stands: is NEO: The World Ends With You worth it? NEO: TWEWY (yes, this is the acronym I'm using) begins with a guy named Rindo as he's on his way to meet his friend Tosai, in Shibuya. They go and get curry (you can choose whether they get ramen or Indian food) and then walk around. But, they start seeing strange things in the streets as other people battle monsters. Then, a strange man appears on the massive TV overlooking the area. Rindo and Tosai are now taking par...
We often have to worry a bit when it comes to PC ports of Japanese console games. Although, this is a Square Enix game, so it's a safer bet than some. After spending some time with it, the PC port of NEO: The World Ends With You is barebones, yes, but I didn't have a single issue with it and everything worked exactly as it you'd expect. It might not be a highly customizable port, but this is still the best way to play the game by a long shot. As the game runs on Switch, its specs aren't exactly going to do much damage, but let's take a look anyway. Minimum: CPU: AMD A8-5600K / Intel Core i3-3210 GPU: AMD Radeon RX 460 / NVIDIA® GeForce GTX 750 RAM: 6 GB Recommended: CPU: AMD A8-7600 / Intel Core i3-3210 GPU: AMD Radeon RX 460 / NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950 RAM: 8 GB Reviewer: CPU: AMD Ryzen 3 2600x GPU: AMD Radeon 5700 XT RAM: 16 GB The minimums are listed as aiming for 720p at 30 fps, while the recommended is for 1080p at 60 fps. Yes, the latter i...

An amazing thing happened on my way to the MMO variety store: I got completely sucked back in to Elder Scrolls Online. It did not come at a convenient time, what with New World's launch and all, but sometimes you can't help when your interest in an MMORPG ignites. The long and the short of […]
Monday night, we reported on a planned settlement between Activision-Blizzard and the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The EEOC was one of four state and federal agencies investigating and/or suing the company in relation to its ongoing sexual harassment and discrimination scandal. But Blizzard announced plans to settle the EEOC-related claims by creating an $18M […]
The other night, I found myself inevitably funneled into a mistake. There wasn't much I could do about it, sadly; Guild Wars 2 had decided that I was going to go into the Heart of Maguuma on that particular night, and protests that no one likes those maps were not going to do much of anything […]

Shared on a Chinese news website, one lucky recipient of the Steam Deck developer kit decided to show off some benchmarks although they probably weren't supposed to.
We already knew that the Steam Deck had some pretty impressive internals, and that Valve had said it's "the most powerful gaming handheld in the world" in their YouTube advert. However, we've not really seen any good numbers until now.
Something to remember is that this is a dev kit, and so tweaks are likely to be made before the consumer units go out. Not only that but plenty of developers will no doubt be tweaking their games ahead of time. There will also be multiple updates to the Steam Play Proton compatibility layer before release too for running Windows games on it.
Anyway, here's what they tested and how they ran. Sadly we don't know the exact settings they used in some places so we've mentioned "tweaked" for those:
One concern seems to be how hot it got after playing Cyberpunk. Not a very realistic game to be playing on High settings on the Steam Deck though. The user showed using a digital thermometer the back hit 42.6°C (108.68°F) and the grips stayed around 29°C (84.2°F).
A reminder on some of the specifications:
Compute
CPU: AMD APU Zen 2 4c/8t, 2.4-3.5GHz (up to 448 GFlops FP32)
We love 'Complete Collections'. Whether that be because they are cheaper and easier to purchase than needing to splash out the cash for individual games, or because they give a chance to bring together full franchises and series' as one, we don't know. But with ExZeus: The Complete Collection on Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Switch, we don't really care, for all that matters is being given the chance to take in this classic rail shooting series on our modern consoles.
It's a busy old day in the gaming scene, with new game launches and DLC drops galore. But when that DLC comes for free, it makes it all the more enticing. That's the case with Blue Fire's Void of Sorrows DLC - as it brings a new set of challenges for absolutely no additional cost.
Haven is already pretty special. Extremely laid-back and accessible, gorgeous to look at and complete with the smoothest of controls, when The Game Bakers released it onto Xbox, PlayStation and PC at the tail end of 2020, it provided a world that was rich for losing yourself in. Now though it's about to get all the more better, with a free Sweet Little Things update rolling out right about now.
Promising a base game of 35 hours, doubling that when you take in the side quests on offer, players on all modern formats can now find themselves fully immersed in Astria Ascending. And if you've got a Game Pass subscription, that world will open itself up for free.
In two of our previous posts we talked about the All Forza Horizon 5 Car List as well as Forza Horizon 5 Biomes and Seasons. Now, we are going to talk about the Forza Horizon 5 PC Specs which are now officially revealed by Playground Games. So, how well Forza Horizon 5 will play on […]
