Superbrothers, the small team behind indie hit Superbrothers: Sword & Sworcery EP, have been teasing Jett: The Far Shore fow a while. It's been present at multiple PlayStation presentations, it's recieved a fair amount of hype on social media platforms, and it's piqued the interest of a few of us here at VG247, too.

But the game, now the reviews are out, has split opinion – there are some reviewers that seem to gel with its often irritating and difficult systems, whilst there are others that really didn't get on with how wantonly awkward Jett makes things.

In Jett: The Far Shore, you are sent on an interstellar trip to "carve out a future for a people haunted by oblivion," in a cinematic action-adventure. As a scout and 'anchorite' named Mei, you will be the first to be deployed to an ocean planet.

It's all that Calculator's fault.

You remember Calculator, right? The Switch eShop app that is just a calculator and costs actual money, and it became a 'thing' that spawned a thousand witty takes and parody reviews? Yes, you remember, and thanks to all that attention we now have a sub-genre of silly applications trying to get sales through the power of memes. The latest to join in is AAA Clock, which does - to give it a sliver of credit - include an actual game.

As you can see in the trailer it is literally a clock, though it does have a basic game that you can access if the excitement of telling the time isn't quite enough. This time it's RedDeer.games cluttering up the eShop, dropping AAA Clock this week on 8th October with an initial price of $1.99USD / €1,99, before being brazen enough to put the price up to $9.99USD / €9,99.

The best Stoner 63 Warzone loadout

Looking for the best Stoner 63 loadout in Warzone? Ever since Warzone Season 4, the best Warzone weapons have been receiving nerfs to reduce their time to kill speed. Some weapons seem to have slipped under the radar, specifically the Stoner 63. This LMG was already one of the best fully automatic weapons in the battle royale game, and now it has a chance to solidify its place in the Warzone meta.

Assault rifle and SMG users will know the pain of having to reload your gun in the middle of a fight. No matter how fast your reload speed is on a weapon like the FFAR 1 or the Mac-10, there's always the danger of being caught out while switching your magazines. This problem almost never happens with the Stoner 63 thanks to its huge magazines, storing over 100 bullets to ensure you can fight off numerous enemies at any given time.

That said, the stock Stoner 63 has a few issues you should keep in mind, such as heavy recoil and surprisingly small magazines. However, if you choose the right attachments for this LMG, you should have no problems handling the recoil and you won't need to worry about reloading until after you've taken out an entire squad.

This neat Civilization 6 mod gives you even more Civ 5-style National Wonders

Earlier this year, Civilization VI fan Albro created a mod that brought a neat feature from the long-running strategy games series' past to its latest instalment: National Wonders. Drawing inspiration from Civilization V, the mod adds a National Wonders system that lets players build some powerful, benefit-yielding buildings once per civilization, rather than once per game as with regular wonders. The mod was a popular one, going by its Steam Point awards and ratings, and now there are even more to pick from.

Albro has shared a new Civilization VI: National Wonders Pack One mod on the 4X game's slice of Steam Workshop, which adds three more National Wonders to their original creation. The first of these is the Ironworks. This requires six improved strategic resources in your game to unlock and in turn unlocks the Renaissance Era mass production technology if built.

The wonder itself brings bonus production (+4) and science (+2), while each improved strategic resource within four tiles of the Ironworks grants +3 production and +1 science. It also offers +2 great engineering points per turn, but you'll have to build it adjacent to an industrial zone district if you want to use it.

New World's bots are hogging the best fishing spots

Where there's an MMO, there are usually bots. They're typically used to make busy work like mining or foraging a lot easier, though many find it pretty frustrating as it makes it harder for them to grind certain spots for items legitimately. New World is indeed an MMORPG, so, as the way of the world decrees, the bots have shown up, almost like a rite of passage.

Players have been taking to the game's subreddit over the past few days to query the odd behaviour of the adventurers they've been coming across in Aeternum (thanks, Icy Veins). Some posts show fishing spots packed with adventurers cycling through their set animations, whereas others reveal some mining for rocks that haven't even spawned yet. Yup, it certainly looks like there are oodles of bots in New World right now.

At the time of writing, most of the bots are busy doing your typical busy work like fishing and mining rocks. You'll notice a few giveaways like the simple names of the characters like "iron1", "iron2", and "iron3", or the fact you can nudge them about without much reaction as their programming evidently doesn't really account for it.

Best gaming monitor deals before Black Friday

The humble gaming monitor has come a long way in the past few years, and now PC gamers are blessed with all sorts of options, from gorgeous IPS panels with sublime colours to curved displays that fully immerse you in your favourite game worlds. The best part is that you don't even need to wait until Black Friday to get your hands on a discounted gaming display.

For the competitively minded among you, you really can't afford to put off upgrading to one of the best gaming monitors with a high refresh rate. The difference between a 60Hz and 144Hz display is night and day, and you'll find the smoother picture will help you enter any gunfight in a game like CS:GO or Rainbow Six Siege with confidence. It doesn't matter how good your gaming PC is if you're still playing on a display with washed-out colours and a refresh rate that can't keep up with your framerate.

While the thriftiest of you might want to wait for Black Friday to get your hands on the best possible deals, there are plenty of discounts ahead of the November weekend.

A Windows 11 bug could gobble up your gaming PC's RAM

Windows 11 has finally arrived, and gaming PC users around the globe are getting to grips with the operating system's new features. However, as you'd perhaps expect, Microsoft's latest iteration of Windows comes with a few out of the box quirks, and a memory leak is reportedly causing the platform to hoard RAM resources.

For context, a memory leak is when a process on your computer fails to release its assigned cache memory. As a result, memory is unintentionally ringfenced, meaning it's unavailable to other system resources. Ultimately, this can affect your PC's overall performance, and even cause unresponsiveness in extreme cases.

According to Reddit user gyrohan269 (via PC Gamer), Windows 11's leaky trail leads straight to File Explorer, which seems to be clinging onto RAM usage stacks. The Windows 11 user also reports that memory reserves are retained by the file manager both on startup and whenever a new folder is opened, with each instance gobbling up more resources each time. Naturally, not using File Explorer isn't really an option, as the application is at the heart of Windows' navigation system.

Back 4 Blood will launch with controversial Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM

The release of Back 4 Blood is hotly anticipated, with just over a week to go until the game's October 12 release date. However, developer Turtle Rock recently made a controversial addition to the game in the form of Denuvo Anti-Tamper DRM. As spotted by NME, the game's SteamDB page indicates that the change was made on September 28 with no comment or update from the developer.

Digital rights management is something PC gamers have lived with for decades, with the likes of Steam making it more palatable and storefronts like GOG offering DRM-free options of many current and legacy titles.

Despite this, Denuvo has garnered an infamous reputation for hampering the performance of games. The most recent egregious example of this was in the PC port of Resident Evil: Village, which saw pirated versions of the game without Denuvo running with far fewer performance problems.

I thought Storyteller seemed promising when I first heard about the puzzle game way back in 2012, after it won the Nuovo award at the IGFs. Now that it's finally almost finished, I am delighted to play a demo in the Steam Next Fest and report back that yes, it's clever and quite delightful. Each puzzle presents you with a cast of characters, a few verbs and nouns, and an outcome which you must achieve by arranging everything in comic strip panels. Simple, clever, satisfying, and surprisingly funny.
