Surprise! The Division 2 TU12 is Apparently Not The End

If you thought your days playing The Division 2 were about to end any time soon, you may want to rethink that stance. To the surprise of its own developers at Massive studio, Ubisoft has announced plans to keep you hooked in its dilapidated post-pandemic America far longer than Division 2 TU12 (or Title Update 12), which released last December.

Taking to Twitter, Ubisoft's official The Division 2 account had this to say:

"Today, we are thrilled to confirm that there will be additional content for The Division 2 released later this year! It is your continuous passion and support which enables us to continue to build upon The Division 2 experience, and we cannot thank you enough for that."

Whereas there was never any public confirmation The Division 2 TU12 was the final planned update for the game, its own developers at Massive studio apparently expected it to be the last major piece of The Division 2 content before moving on to greener pastures, perhaps in the rolling plains of Naboo, for its new open-world Star Wars game. (h/t WIRED)

If this sounds like a departure from what fans were expecting and what developers thought they already knew, given that the current The Division 2 season as of TU12 is called "End of Watch",  that's because it is. This news largely comes hot off the back of Ubisoft's closed-door February 9 investor call, from which VG247 reported that Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot had stated The Division 2 will receive more content throughout 2021 and into 2022.

Nothing here is particularly unusual for an online service-based game of this size and stature, though we've spent long enough living in a real-life pandemic now that perhaps a little vacation on Tatooine isn't such a bad thing.

In other related Division 2 news, crossplay is finally a thing — but only between PC and Stadia players.

It's not immediately clear what type of content could appear in updates after Division 2 TU12, but given that Division 2 next-gen updates have already come out, the sky's the limit. Now to find a PS5.

FIFA 21 Season 4 Objectives — Full Week 1 Guide

FIFA 21, EA Sports,

FIFA 21 Season 4 has officially started. That means tons of new cosmetics, packs, and players to unlock via the season battle pass. Personally, I'm not too excited by the current selection of players, but it's still worth completing the objectives to grab some free packs and test your luck. Of course, one of the more annoying things about FUT is that they don't do a good job of sourcing the weekly objectives in the game. So, if you need some help with the FIFA 21 Season 4 objectives for week one, check out our quick guide below. It should get you to where you need to be.

Week 1 – Bronze Objectives

As always, the bronze level objectives are incredibly easy to complete. Just hop into a few Friendly games on beginner and knock them out while you watch Netflix on another screen. There's really nothing to it.

  • Play 3 matches in any FUT Game Mode.
  • Score and Assist a goal during the same match in any FUT Game Mode.
  • Score using a Volley in any FUT Game Mode.
  • Win a match by at least 2 goals in any FUT Game Mode.

Week 1 – Silver Objectives

The silver objectives require a few more brain cells, but not many. You just need to play two games of Squad Battles on semi-pro and everything else can be done on beginner difficulty. Just jump on and knock them out quickly. You won't struggle.

  • Play 4 matches in any FUT Game Mode.
  • Score 3 goals in Friendlies.
  • Assist a goal in 2 separate Squad Battles matches on Min. Semi-Pro difficulty.
  • Win 2 matches in any FUT Game Mode.

Week 1 – Gold Objectives

Now things get a little spicier. Of course, these objectives still aren't that tough. The Squad Battles objectives will take a little effort, but you should be able to knock them out in a few games against the lower-rated teams in that mode. The Rivals objectives a bit tougher, especially that Chip Shot, but you have two weeks to make it happen. You should be able to get it done through brute force and sheer will power.

  • Score 2 goals in 2 separate Squad Battles wins on Min. Pro difficulty.
  • Score a goal using Finesse Shot in 2 separate Rivals matches.
  • Score a Header using a ST in Squad Battles on Min. World Class difficulty.
  • Score a goal using a Chip Shot in Rivals.
  • Earn 3,500 Rivals points.

FIFA 21 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

Apex Legends Warlord Event Leaked – Arriving Earlier in March

Apex Legends - Fuse Reveal, Respawn, Apex Warlord Collection Event

Currently, Apex Legends players are busy playing the Anniversary Collection Event and its limited-time mode, Apex Locked and Loaded. The event is supposed to end on February 25, but some of the data miners have discovered that it will be followed by a new Apex Legends Warlord Collection Event earlier in March.

Thus far in Season 8, Respawn has added a new playable legend, Fuse, along with the currently running Anniversary event, but it seems this season is going to be one of the rich-content seasons of the game so far with multiple events. According to the data miners, there's a new Collection Event on the way for Apex Legends which is codenamed Warlord, which means the final name of the event might be something different.

When it comes to the skins and cosmetics, it seems the new event will bring Bangalore's heirloom as well as some other items. If nothing, the Apex Legends Warlord Collection Event will bring a new look to Loot Tick, which you can check out below:

Aside from Bangalore, you can expect new epic skins for Wattson, Caustic, and Octane along with Legendary skins for Loba, Gibby, Rampart, Revenant, Crypto, and Wattson. Not to mention that aside from new cosmetics, there will be some limited-time challenges as well. Even a new mode for the event-period can not be far away from Respawn's plans for this unannounced Warlord Collection.

The current Anniversary Collection Event in Apex Legends allows players to achieve 22 fan-favorite skins from the previous seasons of the game, all painted in classy red and gold colors.

Apex Legends is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and PC. The Nintendo Switch version of the game was also launched officially a few days earlier on February 9.

Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 4 changelog is yet to be revealed, but the developers did mention that the new update will remove your old saves, though you have the choice to play on the older version if you don't want to lose your progress. This, simply, is an indication that the upcoming patch will bring big changes to the game.

Larian Studios is supposed to officially announce Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 4 news on an upcoming Panel from Hell 2 stream that will go live on February 17 at 10 am PT. The stream will feature principal rules designer of Dungeons & Dragons Jeremy Crawford, Creative Director Swen Vincke and guests Nick Pechenin, David Walgrave and more.

If you are planning to stay away from Patch 4 for a while and continue your adventure in your current saves, make sure to follow the steps below to play the game on Patch 3:

  • Right click on the game in your Steam library
  • Select properties
  • Click the BETAS tab
  • In the list under "Select the beta you would like to opt in to", select patch3
  • Close the properties menu

If you first need to know about the upcoming content in Patch 4 before deciding on whether to continue your current playthrough or start a new one, make sure to disable the automatic update of your games before the patch arrives.

Baldur's Gate 3 is now available on PC for $59.99 as an early access game. Currently, there is no information on when the full version of the game will be released, and whether it hit the other platforms such as consoles or not.

Laura Bailey and Liam O'Brien Return as Nier Replicant Voice Actors

NieR Replicant ver 1.22 remaster new game awards 2020 gameplay

Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139 has been in the back of everyone's minds as we have slowly gotten closer to the game's April 2021 release. Today, the game made some waves when Square Enix gave us an extended look at its gameplay. A Square Enix YouTube video showed off the flashy combat and some sandy temple environments. The voice acting in the video was in English which gave us a surprising look into the Nier Replicant voice actors: Laura Bailey and Liam O'Brien have returned to the series.

Understanding the relevance of this news took me a little bit of time and reserach. So if you're unaware, let's catch you up to speed. Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139 serves as a prequel to 2017's Nier Automata. It also serves as a remake of 2010's Nier Replicant (or simply Nier to everyone outside of Japan.)

The English voice cast for Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139 hasn't yet been officially announced. However, it seems like Square Enix was ready to announce Laura Bailey and Liam O'Brien's return as Nier Replicant voice actors. The pair voiced characters in the original Nier Replicant and it seems like they're reprising their roles as Kaine and Grimoire Weiss respectively.

This is only the second look we've had at Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139, following its reveal trailer from the Game Awards, and the first English voiced footage we've seen of the game. So right now it's unclear if other actors from the original Nier Replicant will be returning to their roles.

For more on Nier, make sure to check out our coverage of the secret ending to Nier Automata that was discovered in January, four years after the game's release. You can also read our coverage of the new turn-based RPG in the series NieR Re[in]carnation that launches later this month right here at DualShockers.

FIFA 21 Reinier — How to Complete His Future Stars Academy Objective

FIFA 21 Reinier, EA Sports

FIFA 21 Future Stars is really in the thick of things today. There are new players in packs, SBCs, and objectives. One of the more exciting things happening is the new FUT Future Stars Academy players. This go around, players can earn a new version of FIFA 21 Reinier by completing a ton of objectives. Check him out.

If you missed Future Stars and the Academy players in FIFA 20, here's how they work. You'll unlock lower-rated versions of the player as you complete objectives before unlocking his fully-boosted card once you complete all of them. It's a fun way to add new cards to the club and does a great job of simulating a player's career. Here is how to get a fully upgraded Reinier.

Unlock His 78-Rated Version

The first card is incredibly easy. Just go score with your attacking players. The game mode doesn't matter, so this is just a matter of jumping into a game and banging in some goals. Couldn't be simpler.

  • Score 4 Goals Using Forwards

Unlock His 82-Rated Version

The second version also doesn't care which match type you use, you just need to use that 82-rated card to knock off these three objectives. Again, just hop into beginner friendlies and knock this out quickly, if you want.

  • Score Using 78 OVR Future Stars Reinier in 4 Separate Matches.
  • Score 3 goals using 78 OVR Future Stars Reinier.
  • Assist 2 goals using 78 OVR Future Stars Reinier.

Unlock His 85-Rated Version

Here things get a bit more grindy. You'll need to go into Managerial Masterpiece, which is a mode with a cap on your team's rating. It's not too hard to get a team put together for this mode, but having Reiner in the squad is going to make it a bit tougher to slot someone like Mbappe in the team, but you should be able to make it happen relatively quickly.

  • Score using 82 OVR Future Stars Reinier in 6 separate matches in Managerial Masterpiece.
  • Assist 3 goals with Through Balls using 82 OVR Future Stars Reinier.
  • Assist 4 goals using 82 OVR Future Stars Reinier in Managerial Masterpiece.

Unlock His 87-Rated Version

This is where the true grind begins. Not only are you still in Managerial Masterpiece, but you have a metric ton of games to play. Scoring in at least 16 matches with a specific player is going to be a bear to complete. Honestly, I'm probably stopping with his 85-rated version. I just don't have that kind of time in my life.

  • Score in 6 separate Wins using 85 OVR Future Stars Reinier in Managerial Masterpiece.
  • Score using Finesse goals using 85 OVR Future Stars Reinier in Managerial Masterpiece.
  • Claim a Bace (2 goals) in 3 separate matches using 85 OVR Future Stars Reinier in Managerial Masterpiece.
  • Score in 16 separate matches using 85 OVR Future Stars Reinier in Managerial Masterpiece.
  • Play 25 games with Reinier in your starting lineup.

There are all the objectives for you to complete. One big tip for completing the Managerial Masterpiece sections is to get a few high-rated players on your bench and sub them in at the start of games. That should help you slide in a few extra solid players into your lineup.

FIFA 21 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.

FIFA 21 Curtis Jones — How to Complete His Player Pick SBC

FIFA 21 Curtis Jones, EA Sports

FIFA 21 Future Stars is back with its second team. That means tons of new players in packs and brand new SBCs to complete. If you have an absolute pile of fodder you're sitting on with nothing to do, there's a massive new player pick SBC for you to do. A new version of FIFA 21 Curtis Jones is going to break the bank, but he might be worth it. Doubly so if you're a Liverpool fan. He's quite the player.

As with previous player picks, you'll get a choice between two different positions for Jones. Personally, I think I like the left-wing version the most, but they're both class. He also provides an excellent option for anyone looking to link that End of an Era Wayne Rooney card that's been in SBCs for a bit. Jones gives him that solid English link, while letting you easily build into a stacked Premier League.

Of course, it's going to cost you an arm and a leg to get him. Jones is coming in at 400,000 coins at the time of this writing. You have two weeks to complete him, which means he'll outlast the current Icon upgrade SBCs. So, hopefully, that price comes down, but who knows what EA has up its sleeve next. If you need some help completing the SBC, check out the guides below.

FIFA 21 is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. With Future Stars taking center stage, now is an excellent time to hop in and start playing.

Kingdom Hearts is Coming to PC Now And Speedrunners Finna Sell a Kidney For it

kingdom hearts pc epic games store speedrun story feature KH 1 opening cutscene melody of memory version

You've already heard the news, Epic is adding the various Kingdom Hearts collection games on its Epic Games Store, bringing Square Enix and Disney's legendary JRPG series to PC, and possibly trigger a change in the plays of the KH speedrun scene.

Epic Games Store listed four Kingdom Hearts releases in total.

First, we have Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX. Containing Kingdom Hearts I Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix, and the cutscenes from 358/2 Days and Re:Coded. That's three games and some summaries for $50.

Secondly, we have Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. Containing Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance HD, the extremely short DLC-like game featuring the best KH protagonist: Kingdom Hearts 0.2 Birth by Sleep – A Fragmentary passage -, and the movie χ Back Cover. That's basically one game and a movie for $60.

Thirdly, we have Kingdom Hearts III and its Re Mind DLC, for another $60.

Lastly, the latest game in the series, Kingdom Hearts Melody of Memory, will be sold for 60 dollars.

In total, all of Kingdom Hearts will be available on Epic Games Store starting March 30, 2021, for $230.

Kingdom Hearts on PC is incredibly expensive compared to the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the games, and there's virtually no reason to grab these, unless you're in the speedrun scene.

While we don't know yet the specifics of Kingdom Hearts and PC and what kind of changes could benefit the speedrun scene, many players are already dreaming of finally being able to skip certain cutscenes. Like Utada Hikaru's Simple and Clean in KHI.

It's also worth mentioning PC ports can sometimes go particularly awry when it comes to optimization and performance. These are aspects of Kingdom Hearts on PC very important for speedrun, and we'll only know when the games are out.

At the end of the day, I personally wouldn't suggest preordering the games, and it's best to pick the wait and see approach.

Kingdom Hearts director Tetsuya Nomura has been teasing new developments since the announcement of Melody of Memory in June 2020.

After KH: MoM released, Nomura also teased how an hypothetical PS5, Xbox Series X Kingdom Hearts game would be "very surprising " for the fans. Nomura also teased developments for the KH series 20th anniversary in 2022.

Lastly, Tetsuya Nomura recently shared a new story regarding a canceled PS3 Kingdom Hearts game.

FIFA 21 Ilkay Gundogan — How to Complete His POTM SBC

FIFA 21, EA Sports, Christian Pulisic

It's official, the FIFA 21 Premier League Player of the Month for January is Ilkay Gundogan. The man absolutely deserves it. He's been tearing the Premier League to shreds over the last month, routinely scoring bangers and generally dominating the midfield for Manchester City. Of course, he's not the most meta player in FIFA, but he's doesn't cost you too much. Plus, he provides you with some interesting linking opportunities given his German nationality. Check him out.

Again, this is a medium-tier player. Don't expect to drop 50,000 coins on him and have him completely change your team. That said, he's a solid enough card at a reasonable price. Once you slap a shadow chem style on him, he becomes a quite good box-to-box center-mid. If nothing else, he's a shiny new card to spruce up your team.

In all seriousness, EA Sports needs more of this content in FIFA 21. There just aren't enough medium-tier SBCs out this year. Everything has felt overpriced because of how often they're dropping Icon SBCs onto the community. Those are incredibly popular and cause fodder prices to rise to a ridiculous degree. SBCs like this are fun for everyone to complete and provide more casual users with a way to upgrade their team without buying FIFA points. Which is exactly why EA doesn't want them.

If you want to stick it to the man and get Ilkay Gundogan in your club, check out my solution below. Remember, don't just copy me. Use it as a guide and find players in your club to finish the SBC on the cheap.

A commercial Steam game made in just one week, Narayana Walters' StarPrey has players blasting and bouncing their way to victory through dozens of levels. Does its physics engine play nice with its speedy gameplay, or should this title have spent more time in the oven?

StarPrey Review

Presented from a new perspective, players will take control of a rogue starfighter that is on the hunt for its prey. Presented through a handful of text-based screens, it lies squarely in the background to let the gameplay take center focus – a wise choice.

Much like Atari's classic arcade hit Asteroids, players will be shooting down threats in a 360 degree perspective with the use of the mouse. It doesn't matter if it's an enemy cruiser, turret, homing device, or homing devices with a dastardly red tail – if it's on the screen, it needs to go.

In order to do this, players have a blaster (mapped to the left mouse button) that can dispose of these threats fairly quickly. However, one needs to be careful – your ship can go down in two hits, and death is imminent at all times. To combat this, players can shoot their thrusters out and bounce against the walls to strafe and dodge bullets. When the going gets tough, a fast and speedy approach is the answer. The environment can often prove to be a problem though; running into an asteroid or wall can be just as deadly as an enemy fighter.

This might seem bog standard, but putting it into practice is what makes StarPrey really shine. Everything moves at a fast clip, with a number of levels running at less than 15 seconds. Though players will likely have to restart multiple times before they get things down, everything has a structure to it that makes it almost feel like a puzzle game. Make no mistake – this game has a learning curve that requires players to bite it until they've got it. No need to fear though; players will feel like The Last Starfighter before too long.

The game does do its part to keep things fresh. Each level has a different gimmick, from boxing the player in to dealing with a rotating circle of asteroids. A dogfighting miniboss and mothership final boss also make an appearance, though the latter proves to be quite the challenge. Thankfully, players can just as easily get back into the action upon a most likely inevitable defeat.

The entirety of the title can be finished in a little more than an hour, depending on one's dexterity and experience with the genre. Though there are no achievements in this particular title, players can record their best times for each level and can jump to any level from the get-go. For the masochistic among us, players can also try their luck with a hard mode.

Though it has a bit of a learning curve, StarPrey proves to be a solid arcade-like title that successfully combines speed with physics to create something grand.

This review of StarPrey was done on the PC. The game was purchased digitally.
