Call Of Duty: Warzone Teases That The End Is Near On April 21

Call of Duty Warzone_03

Call of Duty is the franchise that seems like it'll still be getting entries up until the heat death of the universe. Now the series even has its own ongoing battle royale mode in the popular Warzone. It has very much become its own thing as a compliment to the annual Call of Duty, such as 2020's Black Ops Cold War and presumably will do the same for the next game, rumored to be a return to World War 2. Now, it seems some end is near, however.

The official Call of Duty Twitter twitted out a cryptic teaser that says simply that the end is near. There's no other context, but most likely it is related to a new map update. A recent leak seemed to indicate that a new map is coming based on 1980s Verdansk. It's unclear at this point how all of this will go down, but it seems we'll find out something on April 21st one way or another.

Call of Duty: Warzone is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… Looks To Get Free DLC Costumes Based On Automata

nier replicant

Later this month, we will get a remaster of the original NieR with a goofy and long title, fitting of the quirky series. While it will be revisiting the first game, and has now officially gone gold, many were first introduced to the franchise via its sequel NeiR: Automata. It seems Square Enix is pretty aware of that, so they are giving a little bit of a cosmetic crossover for the new title.

A listing on the Xbox store has gone live, which you can see here, that sees some costumes for NeiR Replicant. It's titled 4 YoRHa and includes several costumes for the game based on the sequel, specifically some very 2B-themed garbs. It's listed as being free, though is not live as of now. While only up and live on the Xbox store as of now, there's no reason to expect this won't also come to the other versions.

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… will launch on April 23rd for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Nintendo Switch Lite's New Blue Color Launches On May 21

Switch Lite Blue

When it comes to conversation around the Nintendo Switch, most is centered around the rumored 'Switch Pro,' a stronger version of the system that many enthusiasts are eagerly anticipating. However, it seems Nintendo wanted to reveal another version of the system, this time in a familiar form with a new color shade.

Nintendo has announced that a new color of the Switch Lite will be coming out next month. The system will join four other colors the console is already available in: coral, yellow, gray and turquoise. It will also share the same functionalities as previous releases and will be handheld-only and retail for a suggested price of $199.99 USD. While the system launches alongside the re-release of Miitopia (as highlighted in the official announcement below), there is no game bundled.

The Nintendo Switch Lite is available now in the four color mentioned above, with the blue edition set to launch on May 21st.

Ghostrunner Sees Free Photo And Kill Run Modes Alongside Paid Metal Ox Pack

ghostrunner

Last year's Ghostrunner seems to have been a bona fide success story, and the IP is now owned in full by 505 Games. And there are still updates coming. As we already know, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S native versions of the game are on the way sometime this Fall. As part of the continued releases, there is also some free modes and some premium cosmetics.

The free updates came today that brought Photo Mode and Kill Run Mode. Photo mode is probably pretty self-explanatory, but Kill Run Mode is an arcade score attack. You have a strict time limit where you play through a section of the game as quickly as possible where killing enemies nets you extra time. Alongside it is the Metal Ox pack, which is a paid cosmetic pack for $4.99, and you can check out the trailer detailing it below.

Ghostrunner is available now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. You can check out the roadmap for the upcoming content planned, including the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game, through here.

Ninja Gaiden Master Collection's Latest Trailer Is All About Playable Characters

ninja gaiden master collection

Later this year, we will see the return of the action series version of Ninja Gaiden with the Master Collection. The collection will see three games, each a re-release of some kind of previous games in the legendary franchise (though, unfortunately, we will not see an option for the original releases). The games themselves stand alone, however, and today we got a look at all the ninja you can play through the collection.

As mentioned, all three games were re-releases of previous titles, and all added and/or altered content from those releases. One of the big things was the addition of multiple characters outside the main protagonist of Ryu Hayabasa. The trailer highlights him, as well as Ayane, Momiji, Rachel and Kasumi, all of whom were playable throughout the trilogy of titles. While you cannot play through the campaign in full as all characters, they each have either a dedicated section or can be played in alternate mission modes in the case of Sigma 2.

Ninja Gaiden Master Collection will release on June 10th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch and PC. We got to sit down and do an extensive interview with the Head of Team Ninja Fumihiko Yasudan about the release, which you can read in full through here.

oculus-rift

While virtual reality has not quite caught on like many expected it to, there still is a dedicated market to the tech. Now, the latter has a showcase of what's coming next.

The company announced on their official blog that the first ever Oculus Gaming Showcase will happen next week. Cloudhead Games, Ready At Dawn and ILMxLAB are all teased as being part of the event, as well as updates on Pistol Whip, Lone Echo 2, and Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition Comparison Trailer Released, Over 30,000 Textures Improved

mass effect legendary edition

BioWare has released a new comparison trailer for Mass Effect: Legendary Edition, showcasing all of the graphical improvements made over the original games. In a separate post, it also detailed the different processes, from improving over 30,000 individual textures to upgrading its version of Unreal Engine 3 to make it more unified. Check out the trailer below.

Though physically based rendering or PBR hasn't been used, various materials like metals, fabrics and so on will react with light "in a more convincing way." Significant work has also been done to improve skin, hair and eye shaders while new environmental particle effects were added throughout each game. All of the pre-rendered cinematics have been re-rendered in 4K and for those that couldn't be re-captured, an AI upscaling program was used for the original videos. Numerous cutscenes and conversations have also had "dozens, if not hundreds" of bugs though some – like the "What'd you just say?" bug – still remain.

The post also highlights upgrades to shadows, the implementation of screen space ambient occlusion, anti-aliasing and bokeh depth of field, and bringing features like dynamic volumetrics from Mass Effect 3 to the first two games. Mass Effect: Legendary Edition is out on May 14th for Xbox One, PS4, and PC. It recently went gold.

nintendo indie world

Less than two months after its last Direct, Nintendo has announced a new Indie World Showcase for tomorrow. As per Nintendo of America on Twitter, it will take place at 9 AM PT. The livestream will feature about 20 minutes of fresh and new indie titles coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Other publishers confirmed to appear include Microsoft, Ubisoft, Capcom, Take Two Interactive and more. Stay tuned for more details and updates in the meantime.

Among the investment partners is Sony Group Corporation which invested $200 million, following its $250 million investment for a minority stake last year.

Epic Games stated that, "[The investment] builds on the already close relationship between the two companies and reinforces their shared mission to advance the state of the art in technology, entertainment, and socially-connected online services."

Founder and CEO Tim Sweeney said that, "We are grateful to our new and existing investors who support our vision for Epic and the Metaverse. Their investment will help accelerate our work around building connected social experiences in Fortnite, Rocket League, and Fall Guys, while empowering game developers and creators with Unreal Engine, Epic Online Services and the Epic Games Store." Appaloosa, Baillie Gifford, Fidelity Management & Research Company LLC, Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan Board, funds and accounts managed by BlackRock, GIC, Altimeter, Franklin Templeton, funds and accounts advised by T. Rowe Price Associates, Park West, KKR, AllianceBernstein and Luxor Capital make up the other investment partners.

We are excited to strengthen our collaboration to bring new entertainment experiences to people around the world. I strongly believe that this aligns with our purpose to fill the world with emotion, through the power of creativity and technology."

The relationship between Sony and Epic Games has developed significantly since the latter debuted its Unreal Engine 5 tech demo running on PS5. We've also seen Kratos from God of War being included in Fortnite with Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn making her debut on April 15th. PS5 players can also partake in the Aloy Cup for unlocking the Horizon Zero Dawn bundle early. As for where things could lead next, stay tuned for more details.

Why is RIP Fortnite Trending on Twitter? Controversy Explained

New Peely Skin Fortnite

It's not a day that ends in 'Y' without people claiming that an extremely popular and competitive online game is dead. Here's what's up with #RIPFortnite.

If you've hopped on Twitter over the last several hours, you might have noticed that "RIP Fortnite" is a trending hashtag.

So what's the deal? Is Fortnite dead–like, actually dead? Are people just upset about changes in the newest season?

Here's everything you need to know about the "RIP Fortnite" hashtag.

  • MORE: Fortnite x Rocket League: What are the Llama Rama Challenges

Why is RIP Fortnite Trending on Twitter?

So here's the deal: Fortnite isn't shutting down or dead or whatever else you might want to call it. People are currently upset and tweeting with the "RIP Fortnite" hashtag for one of two reasons. The first is that they simply think the game and its community are old news and "dead." The other reason is a little bit more complicated.

Epic Games is trying to crack down on wager matches by telling popular streamers who promote them that they'll be banned unless they stop. Wager matches are exactly as they sound: a type of unofficial game mode that has people betting on who will win the match. Despite being against the Terms of Service agreement that every Fortnite player agrees to when playing the game, popular streamers like Clix have been promoting them.

"RIP Fortnite" is trending because a lot of people think that these wager matches have been keeping the game alive. Even though it promotes gambling to children, a lot of people are upset over Epic Game's newfound strictness.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.2: Patch Notes, Release Date

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.2

Cyberpunk 2077 had been one of the most hyped games of last year. However, much to the disappointment of fans, the game had a lot of issues at launch, and it failed to live up to expectations. In fact, the game's poor optimization on last-gen consoles led to its removal from the PlayStation Store.

After the backlash it received at launch, the developers posted an apology promising fans that it will be releasing two major updates to fix the issues the game had. The 1.1 Patch was released back in January, and it did bring a number of improvements to the game, ranging from crash fixes to memory usage improvements. Here is what we know about the next patch, Update 1.2 so far.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.2: Release Date

When CD Projekt Red issued an apology back in December, it had stated that the first patch will come in January, followed by the second one in February. The first patch came on time, but just after that, the company was hit by a cyber attack that disrupted its plans, causing the patch to be delayed.

Now, the patch is slated to be releasing this month itself. With just less than a week left for March to end, we will get the 1.2 Update pretty soon. However, as of now, the release date hasn't been announced. That being said, the developers have stated that the patch is being tested, so it shouldn't be long before we get the update.

Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.2: Patch Notes

The patch notes of the 1.2 Update haven't been shared yet. However, in a recent Night City news report, the developers have highlighted what fans can expect from the update. Here is a gist of everything confirmed so far.

  • Police will be responding to crimes slower than earlier.
  • Drones will be assisting the police in assessing crimes.
  • A new steering sensitivity slider will be added to the game.
  • The Steering has been optimized to make it smoother and more more consistent whenever there is a drop in the framrate.
  • A new feature will be added which help players get their cars freed when stuck
  • Right now, double tapping on a movement key makes the character dodge. This will be disabled in the next update.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier: Who Is Isaiah Bradley?

isaiah bradley falcon and winter soldier

The second episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier is now available on Disney+ and many fans were left with the same question, who is Isaiah Bradley?

For those that may not have caught up with the latest episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier you have been officially warned, there are spoilers ahead.

  • FORTNITE: How To Get The Psylocke Skin – Marvel Outfits Return

Who Is Isaiah Bradley?

Episode 2 of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier introduced a brand new character to the MCU, Isaiah Bradley. The new character was portrayed by Carl Lumbly and although this is his first appearance in the MCU, it appears the character is a pivotal part of the super-soldier storyline.

Isaiah Bradley isn't a made-up character just for the MCU, he is actually a character that appeared in the Marvel comic books. Bradley is depicted as an early outcome of the USA's Super-Soldier program, which fans will know is how Steve Roger's Captain America came into existence during World War II.

In simpler terms, Isaiah Bradley is another Captain America. In the Marvel Comic Book universe, Isaiah took on the name of Captain America after it was presumed Steve Rogers had died.

During Episode 2, Sam and Bucky head to Baltimore to meet Isaiah Bradley, who is now an elderly and confused man.

Bradley informed Bucky and Sam that he stopped using his powers a long time ago because he believed the process of being turned into a super-soldier was government-sanctioned torture. Bucky then insists that Bradley was a hero and one of the soldiers that HYDRA truly feared. Bucky knows that HYDRA feared Isaiah because the two were on opposite sides back in the '50s.

It looks like this won't be the last time we see or hear of Isaiah Bradley, but fans will have to wait until next Friday (April 2) to see where Episode 3 takes The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier Episode 2

Fans can watch "The Star Spangled Man", which is the second episode of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, right now on Disney+.

The runtime is 50 minutes long, so get comfy, get the snacks, and get watching!

New episodes of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier are released every Friday.

What Is Risk of Rain 2?

Risk of Rain 2 is a third-person shooter developed by Hopoo Games, it was released for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in August of 2020. The game most recently received an Anniversary Update to celebrate 2 years since the release of it's Early Access version.

The sequel to the popular title Risk of Rain follows a similar approach in terms of gameplay, up to four players must progress through several levels whilst taking out enemies.

Each of these levels will have a teleporter that players must find and activate, once activated they must survive the hoard of enemies and bosses until the teleporter is fully activated.

One of the biggest changes from the original title, is Risk of Rain 2 is now set in a 3D environment as opposed to 2D.

Risk of Rain 2 is available right now on Steam, PlayStaion 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Google Stadia.

How To Unlock Heretic In Risk of Rain 2

If you're wondering how you can play as Heretic after the latest update on March 25, here's how.

The Heretic is a unique character that isn't actually playable from the character select screen, instead, there's a different method to obtaining this character.

To play as the Heretic you will need to collect all four of the Heresy Items in-game, you will then turn into the Heretic. It's also worth noting that since the latest update, there has been two new Heresy Items added, meaning there are now four to collect.

Unfortunately, even after you collect the four Heresy Items, the Heretic won't become a selectable character to play with. If you want to continue playing as the Heretic in Risk of Rain 2, you will need to continuously collect the four items.

Heretic Skills

So what special abilities or skills does the Heretic have? Well, the abilities will come from the Heresy Item set. This means that you will have the following abilities as the Heretic:

  • Essence of Heresy – Ruin

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut Review

A couple of years after Disco Elysium hit the scene, ZA/UM has released the Final Cut on the PlayStation 5. Find out if the game is worth checking out two years later with our review.

Disco Elysium: The Final Cut Review

Disco Elysium begins with you waking up in a haze, one where you can't remember who you are or what you are doing. As it turns out, you drank so much that you are now suffering from some sort of amnesia. You groggily collect your clothes and stumble downstairs to try and find out what is going on, but quickly learn you are a detective sent to investigate a murder. After a man was found hanging from a tree behind the hotel you are staying at, you now need to find out what happened. Thankfully, a different precinct sent the detective Kim Kitsuragi to help you out, with him filling you in on the details. While you haven't worked together before, you have been assigned as partners for this case.

Figuring out who you are and what you were doing is only the beginning of your nightmare. It turns out that in your drunken stupor, you lost your badge and sold your gun. The body out back has been hanging for a week, and now smells so bad you can't approach it without getting sick. There is a massive strike going on outside of the union, so getting to the boss to ask him questions about the murder is difficult. To top it all off, you owe the hotel $130 and you are broke. Cleaning up this mess will take roughly 20-25 hours.

Disco Elysium The Final Cut Honest Review

Disco Elysium is an RPG, but not your typical RPG. You don't do much combat, and even the combat isn't controlled by you. That is because a lot of skills are based on dice rolls. Some are easy to pass, while others are impossible. This is where your skills come into play – and there are a ton of them. There are 24 different skills to pick from, and each of them plays a separate role. These skills act as your inner voice and point out things you may have missed. However, skills can clash with one another, leaving you to sort out which one to believe. Is the suspect lying, or is he just scared? Empathy says one thing, while Drama says another.

The skill system plays into the replayability of the game as well. A different build and play style won't change the game's outcome, but it will change each conversation. You also get new clothes to wear, which will improve specific skills. You can turn your weaker skills into strong ones by wearing the right outfit. Booze, drugs, and cigarettes will give you temporary boosts at the expense of HP or Morale. The boost can be worth it – assuming Kim isn't watching you do speed and you don't kill yourself by doing it. I had to buy a raincoat, drink some wine, and increase my endurance to get the body down without puking my guts out. I'm sure there are other ways to do it, but that one worked for me.

Disco Elysium The Final Cut Honest Game Review

Another strength of the game is how it lets you be the kind of detective you want to be. With no memory of who you are, you can say all sorts of things about your past. You can play it straight, ask questions, get info, and find the perp. You can be the cop of the apocalypse, foretelling of the coming doom, and thoroughly confusing your partner. Superstar cop is a winner. Disco may be dead in our world, but in Disco Elysium, you are a star. Give people that "Look" and the finger guns to let them know you are a cool cop who isn't above taking bribes. You get to play the way you want to play.

The other main thing this title tasks you with is exploring. There is a lot to see, even though the game world isn't that large. Tiny dots flood the world, providing context, new info, and other little tidbits that help you get a feel for the area. By exploring these dots, you will unlock thoughts. Your thoughts range from ridiculous to just wondering how old you are. Thoughts require time to sort out completely and will give you an effect when the thought is completed. When they are finished, they will usually provide you with a new buff. You might get a bonus to one of your skills or get bonus experience for certain conversation choices. You can also become a communist if you want, though the bonus to that one isn't great.

Disco Elysium The Final Cut Game Review

I played this on PC when it released, but never got through it. The Final Cut voices most of the game, which proves to be a massive boon that makes it easier to navigate. That being said, there were some problems. I did have a couple of crashes, which hurts because the game doesn't autosave often. There were some UI glitches where text boxes would stay on screen. I couldn't complete certain quests, and conversations would stop having options to talk. The quest to get my gun back took me five times of hard closing the game and re-opening it to actually work. I still enjoyed my time with it, but there were some definite issues.

While Disco Elysium: The Final Cut won't appeal to everyone, those that do enjoy it will sing its praises for a long time to come. Just be prepared for a few bugs if you play on console.

This review of Disco Elysium: The Final Cut was done using the PlayStation 5 version of the game. A digital code was provided by the publisher.

Age of Empires IV Gameplay Trailer Released

One of the best-selling RTS series makes its return with Xbox Game Studios, Relic Entertainment, and World's Edge's Age of Empires IV – see it in action with the latest gameplay trailer for the game.

New to the game is the playable Delhi Sultanate civilization. In addition, the iconic War Elephant unit will make its return. In true series' fashion, spearmen, archers, and more combat-oriented construction will develop as civilizations start to age-up and skirmishes escalate to war.

Revealed during the global fan preview for the series, the trailer below takes a look at the new Norman campaign. This campaign tells the story of Duke William of Normandy as he wrestles control of England from King Harold.

Presentation-wise, the game draws inspiration from gilded manuscripts of the time, with the "golden soldiers" projecting historical events over present-day real-world locations.

SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID Review

A risk-reward title that encourages wild driving, kunstwerk's SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID (yes, we checked that we spelled that correctly) has players burning rubber to get ahead. Does this time-honored tradition translate well to this title, or have players seen this play out one too many times before?

SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID Review

Each of SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID's 30 levels keeps things simple and to the point. Your hot set of wheels needs some fuel, and there just so happens to be fuel cans dotting the landscape. With your foot on the gas, players can pick up the pace and enter a skid the moment they turn left or right. Players will be able to do so with either the WASD keys or arrow keys, but there's no need to worry about anything else but direction. Collect each can, watch the screen flash with joy on each one, and move on to the next stage.

However, there lies an always-imminent danger with the buzzsaws that also inhabit each world. Whether they be right in front of you or slowly creeping in from the sides, players will have to contend with these threats as they maneuver around. All poor unfortunate souls that touch one meet an untimely demise, so it pays to be perfect.

This combo is simple at its core, and SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID's minimalistic presentation really drives this fact home. However, what is here works as it should. Players won't be playing around with gears or even hitting the breaks; rather, what is here is pure and works as it should. While it takes some getting used to, those who can wrap their head around its system will enjoy hitting the perfect line to get ahead. It can be tricky at certain moments, but even the most challenging level of the lot can be vanquished without too much frustration.

It's just a shame that this simplicity also applies to this game's depth. Each level has just a handful of gas canisters, and collecting them all in the perfect run can easily be done in less than a minute, if not less than 30 seconds.

While it's nice that this game is a tight package, it also prevents players from coming back to this title again down the road. Completing its suite of levels takes around 40 minutes if you're really pacing yourself, which is good for the price tag but somewhat limited in its lasting appeal. No achievements, timer, or anything other than a menu select with all levels unlocked are available. While it's nice that the color scheme for each level changes on each attempt, there's little variety between each run and levels quickly start to bleed together.

SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID's minimalistic nature is both its greatest strength and its biggest weakness. Boiling the racing genre down to its most basic elements means that there's absolutely no fluff, but this ultimately kills any replayability it may have had.

This review of SKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIID was done on the PC. The game was purchased digitally.
