Netflix Offer Mark Hamill Role Of Vesemir In The Witcher Series

According to We Got This Covered, Netflix have offered the role of Vesemir to Mark Hamill for The Witcher series. An apparently reliable source gave the site an official production document for the Netflix series, which revealed the possible casting call.

Hmm

Mark Hamill has become the number one choice for fans. The Internet has been pushing for this casting since season one ended, and it seems they just might get their wish. Mark Hamill himself has even got in on the action. The source provided them with accurate information in the past, so there's a very good chance this is true. Wether or not he will actually accept the role of Vesemir, remains to be seen. Alas, we can only hope.

Video Game Treasure Trove

Netflix seems to be looking to video game properties for the future of their content. It was announced back in January that The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf would be coming to the streaming service. For those unaware, this is an animated film that focuses on Geralt's mentor, Vesemir himself. The official synopsis reads:

Long before mentoring Geralt, Vesemir begins his own journey as a Witcher after the mysterious Deglan claims him through the Law of Surprise.

Studio Mir, best known for Legend of Korra, will be responsible for the animation. Lauren S. Hissrich and Beau DeMayo, two of the people responsible for the creation of The Witcher Netflix series will also be creating the animated feature.

Elsewhere, the synopsis regarding the Netflix Resident Evil series was posted and then subsequently removed. Can we expect Netflix to translate more video game properties for the small screen in the future?

We already have a Ni No Kuni animated film available on the streaming service, not to mention The Witcher series was quite the success for the streaming giant. Success that has also proven massively beneficial for the game itself, as it saw a dramatic increase in players.

Perhaps this is the beginning of a mutually beneficially relationship between streaming services and video game properties.

Massively Overthinking: What's your favorite type of MMORPG raid?

Raiding is one of those very simple MMO concepts that has somehow become a contentious one in the broader discourse. A "raid" in MMO terminology is just a relatively large group of players engaging in some sort of coordinated PvE combat – that's it. There shouldn't be anything wrong with this idea; it encompasses everything […]

Lord of the Rings Online hopes to start rolling out monetization changes in the next year

One of the longstanding criticisms of Lord of the Rings Online revolves around the game's antiquated and frankly expensive business model.
