The AMD Ryzen 9 5900X is the company's latest high-end consumer processor, offering 12 cores and 24 threads using the incredibly fast Zen 3 design. AMD's latest generation CPUs have made incredible strides against Intel*, and are now often the best choice for both gaming and content creation - an unthinkable situation just five years ago when Ryzen first launched.
The 5900X has been the hardest Ryzen 5000 model to find at a good price, thanks to low supply and incredible demand, but today you can pick one up for a significant discount - £43 below RRP, or £466.92. That's a great price for a CPU of this quality, especially in the middle of a silicon shortage.
The Logitech G Pro X is a fantastic headset - a comfy and well-built premium option that sounds fantastic. Today, it's not so premium any more, as Currys has discounted the headset from its original RRP of £110 to just £62.99 - a massive bargain. To get that price, you'll need to use code FNDDGAMING at the checkout.
As it goes in online competitive games, Activision are in a constant battle against cheaters in Call Of Duty games. They've banned more than half a million cheaters in Call Of Duty: Warzone and yet there are always more. They've announced a new tool to help crack down: their Ricochet Anti-Cheat system. When it launches in Warzone and Call Of Duty: Vanguard it will include server-side tools along with a kernel-level driver to monitor applications interacting with the game.
Plenty of PC gamers hold a deep reverence for System Shock, a series of first-person, action-adventure games that take place in a futuristic sci-fi setting. Both the first System Shock and its sequel left an impact on many players for a variety of reasons, which include their engrossing atmospheres and their iconic AI antagonist SHODAN. The series' immersive qualities may have led some to wonder what a film set in the System Shock universe would look like. Fortunately for those people, it seems that the team at Binge, "an upcoming gaming entertainment streaming platform," wondered the same thing, as it revealed that a live-action TV series based on System Shock is currently in development. Larry Kuperman and Stephen Kick, two members of System Shock rights holder Nightdive Studios, will function as the executive producers of the project, while Allan Ungar, the chief content officer at Binge, will serve as the main producer. Kick expressed excitement over the prospe...

When Fortnite added its new Imposters mode, it was blatantly obvious that the team was taking cues from Among Us. The plot is thickening, however. In a blog post detailing updates, a caption under an image related to role bias and voice chat admits that the mode was "inspired by Among Us." Duh! It's becoming frequent to see brands name-drop another. In this case, you better believe that there's something in the works between the two behemoths. To hammer this home far more succinctly, the Fortnite Twitter account tagged the Among Us one in a tweet and the two got into a little prefabricated PR pow-wow. The Fortnite team tweeted the update blog and then tagged the Among Us account, which replied with the eyes emoji. I'm trying so hard not to gag while I type this, so I hope you're appreciating it. The Fortnite account followed up by saying, "Since you're here we've got something we wanted to ask you." The other carefully coor...

Disney kicked off a new Star Wars product reveal campaign that encompasses multiple products and media. Dubbed "Bring Home the Bounty", it's made up of twelve weeks of reveals running to the end of the year, the first of which is a swath of action figures and clothing. Each week of reveals is hinted at with an icon of some sort. Some are characters from the Star Wars universe, while others are more abstract concepts, like a logo for the 50th anniversary of Lucasfilms, or a pair of lightsabers.
Most interesting is Week 10, which is represented by a game controller, suggesting a game announcement is imminent. No other info is offered as to what that game would be, though. We already know about the Knights of the Old Republic remake in the works for PC and PS5, and the port of the original game for Switch. And there's a new expansion for The Old Republic on the way. Beyond that, there's only rumors and barely announced threads of upcoming games to go on.
And there's plenty to glean from out there. We know about an Ubisoft open world game set in the Star Wars universe, and then there's the rumors of a David Cage-directed Star Wars game. Or it could be the sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. We didn't see it at EA Play, but we might see it here. And then there's the possibility of something entirely unexpected. There's plenty to speculate on.
Final Fantasy 14 director Naoki Yoshida revealed that the popular MMO has passed the 24 million player mark, making it the most profitable game in the Final Fantasy series. And with Endwalker, the next expansion, set to release very soon, that number seems poised to continue to go up.
In a press briefing at a preview event for Endwalker, Yoshida showed off the steady progression of players over the game's lifespan, starting with four million at the launch of A Realm Reborn, the reboot to the game that changed its fortunes after an extremely troubled initial launch. By the time the third expansion, Stormblood, came out, it hit ten million. That number doubled over the next four years, and now, with the release of Endwalker looming, Final Fantasy 14 has reached its latest milestone of 24 million.
"It's perhaps unbecoming of me to say but in terms of our business, we've been able to achieve great success. Moving forward, we're going to spare no expense with our investments to ensure that this game continues to be one which our players can enjoy," said Yoshida.

Rocket League has revealed that its Haunted Hallows 2021 event begins tomorrow and runs through November 1, and it will bring Batman-themed cars, decals, and more to the arena.
More specifically, Haunted Hallows 2021 will feature a new Gotham City Rumble limited-time mode, new items, and the return of all three Batmobiles previously sold in-game. Alongside all of this, new Halloween Hallows challenges will be added to Rocket League to give players the chance to unlock villain-themed items.
Everyone who logs in will be able to earn the Dark Knight Player's Title and by completing challenges, players can earn special limited items like the Joker Dominus Decal and Boost, the Gotham's Finest Merc Decal, the Harley Quinn Wheels and Topper, the Poison Ivy Boost, and more.
In Gotham City Rumble, drivers can expect the same Rumble gameplay but with the added twist that power-ups in the mode are themed after Batman and his rogue gallery. Some of the power-ups include Joker's Boxing Glove, Harley's Hammer (instead of the Boot), and Poison Ivy's Vines (instead of the Grappling Hook).
To coincide with this new mode, the Beckwith Park (Gotham Night) arena has been added to the game and it includes plenty of easter eggs for Batman fans to spot. It's the arena seen in the Haunted Hallows 2021 event trailer above.

If you missed out on the release of the 1989 Batmobile, the Dark Knight's Tumbler from the Christopher Nolan Batman movies, or the 2016 Batmobile from Batman v Superman, all three will be available in the Rocket League Item Shop. Each comes with the Reel Life Decal, too, which gives the Batmobiles their signature black color from their respective movies.
The Bat-Signal Goal Explosions triple-pack available in the Item Shop starting tomorrow features a Bat-Symbol that explodes on-screen. The explosion will be either the Bat-Symbol from the 1989 Batman movie, the Christopher Nolan Batman trilogy or that of Ben Affleck's Batman in the recent Zack Snyder movies.

The quirky Let's Build A Zoo opens its doors to enterprising zookeepers on November 5. The game hands you the keys to your own sanctuary of animals that you can take in several directions. Whether you want to promote conservation, turn it into a soulless money-making machine, or concoct brand-new creatures using a gene-splicing mechanic, Let's Build A Zoo has you covered.
This goofy title lets you erect and design enclosures, buildings, and other infrastructure to house your furry attractions and entertain guests. Though it looks simple, layers of systems allow for a deeper level of play and plenty of customization, including a morality system. Kind-hearted players can properly care of their animals, promote environmentalism, and even save some species from going extinct. Those who prefer to walk on the dark side can exploit critters by building factories designed to squeeze as much cash out of them as possible.
The game's other prominent feature is gene splicing. Do you find plain old giraffes boring? Mix its DNA with, say, a bat and see what you get. The game boasts over 300,000 possible combinations of animals; maybe your zoo can exclusively showcase your horrific mistakes miracles of life. Let's Build A Zoo is coming to PC via Steam for $19.99.
At first glance, the Lego Super Mario 64 Question Mark Block looks pretty uneventful; simple, in fact, especially following on from the interactive gamification featured in the previous Lego Super Mario sets. It's just a solid Lego block, right?
Though we'll need to wait until 2022 for Alfred Hitchcock - Vertigo on Switch, we're nonetheless still rather intrigued by what it'll deliver. Publisher Microids has now published the second of its Dev Diary video series on the game, this time focusing on the soundtrack.
It's an interesting insight into the process not just for this game, but indeed for medium-sized games of this scope. We get a glimpse of developer Pendulo Studio's internal studio, learn how the composer works alongside the script and design teams, and also see some recording sessions. It's not the big studio resources you'd see from a major 'triple-A' retail game, but is nonetheless an impressive setup to see in action.

In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Final Fantasy XIVDirector Naoki Yoshida spoke at length about the MMO's influx of players, and his mixed feelings about World of Warcraft comparisons. When you fire up Minecraft's latest snapshot, you'll be treated to a new cubemap gently revolving behind the sandbox game's main menu. It's a big, wide open scene from the upcoming Caves and Cliffs: Part II patch, and it looks quite nice. But that's not the only thing that's been replaced in this update: Java edition Minecraft's random number generator has been swapped out, too.
"We've replaced the random number generator used for world generation, which makes more seeds come out as different... but it also moves everything around in the world, so expect all worlds to look different in this snapshot," Mojang explains in the snapshot's changelog.
Snapshot 21W41A makes a few other key adjustments. Geodes can now only generate up to height 30, and the frequency with which they spawn has been brought back in line with where it was circa Minecraft 1.17. The other top-line change in this snapshot is that Mojang has increased the angle at which you can sprint against a block without the collision breaking your spring.
Spooky month is upon us, so according to tradition it's time for obscure slasher movie marathons, ghoulish Twitter usernames, and pumpkin spice foisted upon all of your food and drink favourites. God help us all.
In the game industry this loosely translates to browsing list features about the best horror games - oh look at that, we've got one, too - and spending more trying to choose which middling '00s splatterfest to replay than you'll actually spend playing it. Of course you could try a new game instead, perhaps a shiny upcoming indie game? We've been spelunking in the depths of Steam's upcoming releases tab to plunder Lovecraftian first-person shooters with comic book visuals, pictorial point-and-click adventure games, hack-and-slash mech games, deck-building roguelikes about ritual sacrifice, and much more.
We've cast the net far and wide, so there's a little something for everyone here. Similarly, none of our picks are themed around Halloween, but you'll still find plenty of horror inflected indies on this list in case you're looking for something seasonal.
As it does, action and explore 'em up Genshin Impact has rolled out another game update adding more characters, weapons, a domain, and a new island too. You can hop into the new update titled "Into the Perilous Labyrinth of Fog" as of today to get started on all the new activities.
Solar Ash is the next action-y adventure from the folks behind Hyper Light Drifter, which they've described as "Super Mario Galaxy meets Shadow Of The Colossus, and sprinkle in a bit of Jet Set Radio." South Korean studio Pearl Abyss, better known for action games like Black Desert Online, first revealed gameplay from its upcoming creature collector DokeV at gamescom 2021. On October 8, 2022, the enormously successful Mortal Kombat franchise will officially become 30 years old. It almost seems hard to believe that players have ripped off heads and pulled people's spines from their bodies for that long. It just goes to show how effective the series is at appealing to players' darkest fantasies. Ed Boon, one of the famous creators behind the series, wasted no time in commemorating the upcoming 30th anniversary of Mortal Kombat, as he posted a tweet showing the creative process behind the character Scorpion's iconic "get over here" spear attack. Famously, the original Mortal Kombat installments featured real-life actors that the developers then superimposed into the games as character sprites. The video included in Boon's tweet shows footage of both him and fellow creator John Tobias working with Scorpion's actor to get the motion for the spear throw exactly right. The moment when Boon first comes up with the ide...

Ubisoft revealed Ghost Recon Frontline during the 20th anniversary showcase for the franchise. The Ghost Recon community has been vocal about Frontline, and it hasn't gone unnoticed. Earlier today, Ubisoft confirmed that the closed beta test for Ghost Recon Frontline has been delayed. Ghost Recon Frontline is the first battle royale game for the series. The free-to-play shooter features a large map where 100 players are shuffled into three-person teams. You survive against other players while hunting down intel, and once that's done you call an evac to take you off the wretched island. The formula is your standard battle royale fare, with some aspects of The Division tossed in. Players could choose among classes, each of which has an ability to employ on the field. One is able to scout ahead for enemies, for example, while another could call in air drops that range from armored barriers to vehicles. It wasn't enough for fans, clearly. A quick tour around the...
