Minecraft Java Edition and Bedrock Edition are coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC

Minecraft Live 2021, Mojang's annual celebration of all things bright and blocky, is happening right now, and while we've been expecting updates about updates and new mob reveals, Mojang has also unveiled that two versions of Minecraft are coming to Xbox Game Pass for PC later this year.

To be more specific, the two versions are Java Edition and Bedrock Edition, and they'll both be available via Xbox's Game Pass for PC service from November 2, 2021.

Now if - like us - the many different Minecraft versions scare and confuse you, then here's roughly what each of those versions offer. Java Edition, which is normally sold via the Minecraft website for £17.95 / $26.95, is the most customisable version of the game, and is the version you'll want if you plan on using custom Minecraft skins, Minecraft mods, and booting up custom Minecraft maps and servers. Those are basically all of the things that make Minecraft on PC one of the best sandbox games around.

Suicide Squad's first screenshot may be teasing Lex Luthor

The first in-game Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League screenshot has been released in advance of today's big reveal at the DC Fandome event, which will presumably bring the first proper look at Rocksteady's next game in motion. Even more intriguingly, however, is that the screenshot seems to hint at the involvement of Lex Luthor in the game's story.

It's been over a year since the announcement of Batman: Arkham developer Rocksteady's long-awaited next game, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League - which was only shown off with a CGI trailer, unlike fellow DC co-op game Gotham Knights - and fans are eagerly anticipating a full gameplay reveal at today's event along with more details on the game's story.

As a tease for this, Rocksteady creative director Sefton Hill posted the first proper in-game screenshot of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League - and while it's mostly focused on the four Squad members, fans have noticed a subtle tease in the background of the shot that seems to point towards Lex Luthor's involvement.

Epic will give you $10/£10 for your email address

In what is usually a holiday tradition, Epic is giving away free $10/£10/€10 coupons to take off on any game on the Epic Games Store worth $14.99/£14.99/€14.99 or more, creating some potentially fantastic deals - however, in order to get the coupon, you have to be prepared to surrender your email address.

What's becoming a regular yearly tradition in the Epic Games Store is the release of a special coupon to take a decent amount of money off any single game release - $10/£10/€10 or equivalent local currency (see the full list here) off any game worth a little bit more in price - but Epic appears to be handling it a bit different this year.

Instead of simply handing Epic store users their vouchers, which are often reusable multiple times, this time around Epic would like something in return - your email address. In order to get the voucher, players have to be prepared to receive marketing emails from the company regarding "Epic Games products, news, events, and promotions."

Genshin Impact precursor Honkai Impact 3rd is coming to Steam

MiHoYo's anime RPG Genshin Impact continues to skyrocket in terms of popularity, so fans have wondered why the studio's previous game - the similar anime action title Honkai Impact 3rd - hasn't been made widely available to English-speaking territories. That's apparently about to change as a Honkai Impact 3rd Steam release is coming this month.

Honkai Impact 3rd was originally released in 2016, four years before Genshin Impact, and while it's not a direct sequel there are many elements in common between the two - such as the distinct anime look, social interaction, similar character design, and some similar plot threads.

However, while it's generally available through the game's website in English this month's Steam release will be the first time Honkai Impact 3rd has been made available through a proper mainstream gaming client. Even more interesting is that it's hitting Steam before Genshin Impact has - MiHoYo's more popular title is currently exclusive to the Epic Games Store, although with Honkai Impact 3rd hitting Valve's platform it's entirely possible that will change soon.

Gotham Knights Story Trailer Court Of Owls Dc Fandome 2021DC Fandome 2021 delivered once more with a story trailer and inside look at the Court of Owls for the upcoming Gotham Knights. The multiplayer co-op action title was revealed at last year's show, along with Rocksteady's Suicide Squad game — which got a trailer earlier today. Gotham Knight's story trailer today, however, is still packed with some beat 'em up action. But this time, things get a little creepy with the introduction of the antagonist group, the Court of Owls. Following the trailer, DC also released a behind-the-scenes video introducing you to the Court. For those not aware, the Court of Owls showcased in Gotham Knights is inspired by a Batman comic run. Batman: The Court of Owls unveiled a secret society of Gotham elites that pulled the strings from the dark. Both the comic series and Gotham Knights share a similar story, in which the Court of Owls was thought to be a myth. There will be clear differences between the comic and the game, of c...

Suicide Squad Game Kill The Justice League Dc Fandome 2021Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Rocksteady Studios' next big DC game venture, got a story trailer earlier today during the DC FanDome 2021 livestream. It's been more than a year since the game was revealed at the last showcase. But, you know what? It's still looking great. The story trailer once more introduces the members of Task Force X, while also running through some Justice League members. There's also a brief shot of a popular member of Batman's rogues gallery, and he might be a little down on his luck. The trailer begins with Amanda Waller, founder of Task Force X, giving her new crew the rundown. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League puts you in command of four of the usual TFX mainstays: King Shark, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot, and, naturally, Harley Quinn. The trailer is heavy on the cinematics, but it's all in-engine footage and looks gorgeous.   The trailer also shows off some of the Justice League members you're of...

Posing too hard crashes Apex Legends, but a fix is coming

A new Apex Legends crash problem is doing the rounds in one of the best battle royale games around, although the cause is an unusual one this time - posing too much. Apparently, players are experiencing crashes based on using animated epic poses, although Respawn is working on a fix for next week - and have posted a big "bug notice" in-game.

Like many other major online games, there has been no shortage of issues with Apex Legends since it released - such as the massive disconnection errors players experienced last month. This issue is a little less serious and a little more amusing than problems like that or the ongoing server problems Apex Legends seems to continuously suffer from - although it's notable how Respawn is handling it.

As noticed by players a few weeks ago, animated epic poses have been crashing games. This wouldn't be so bad as they can easily be unequipped, except players can use them on the lobby too - which can crash the game for anyone who views them too.

What if: Far Cry 6 became a battle royale instead of Ghost Recon?

I'm actually quite excited about Ghost Recon Frontline. Admittedly, I'm not really a Ghost Recon fan, so years of questionable genre shifts haven't left me exasperated and angry like much of the official Ghost Recon subreddit. But while I'm quietly excited for a fresh battle royale from a triple-A publisher, Ghost Recon isn't the series to try this experiment with.

Come May 2022, it will have been a decade since the last truly tactical Ghost Recon game, Future Soldier. Why not give the community what it's been pleading for before starting the next experiment? Ubisoft's determination to ignore the focused single-player experiences that birthed IPs like Ghost Recon and Splinter Cell is increasingly baffling, especially in a world of remakes and reboots. Trend chasing is out and traditional single-player games are back in - look at Jedi: Fallen Order, God of War, Cyberpu - ok, not that, but there are plenty of examples.

And if Ubisoft must have a battle royale with ties to a major IP (rest in peace, Hyper Scape - I still say you were done dirty) then there are plenty more candidates. Just Dance? The Crew? Watch Dogs? Ok, probably not them. Let's take a quick peek through Ubisoft's IP catalogue: Rainbow Six? No, that's already a successful multiplayer game. Splinter Cell? That would just reproduce the fan resentment that's caused Frontline's closed test to be delayed. The Division might already be getting a battle royale game in Heartland, so that's out. Well, there's always the Rabbids licence…

Fortnite is getting its 5th Batman skin, but this one's a darker Knight

The next Batman x Fortnite crossover event has been revealed for October 26, bringing with it a new skin pack and the answer to a big Fortnite lore question. The Batman Who Laughs will be the next Fortnite DC skin and it'll be free to anyone who buys the crossover comic - and like with the previous Harley Quinn skin, it'll be available to buy in-game too.

In advance of the DC Fandome event later today, Epic has revealed the details of the new crossover coming later this month. It'll mostly be centred around the Batman/Fortnite standalone comic "Foundation" coming on October 26, and it'll see the introduction of a new Batman skin - the fifth that Fortnite's seen so far, although this one is based on the mysterious "Batman Who Laughs".

The Batman Who Laughs is a Joker-fied Batman from a dark dimension introduced by writer Scott Snyder in 2017, who'll be contributing to the Fortnite comic. The villain appeared in DC Universe Online recently, but otherwise hasn't really appeared in much outside of the comics.

New World server transfers are delayed yet again

Stop us if you've heard this one: the long-awaited New World server transfer feature has been delayed to next week. Last week we reported that the promised free New World server transfers would be coming this week, but now that's come and gone Amazon Game Studios has confessed that the feature has been delayed once more.

A quick history recap: Amazon's MMO New World has been a big success - even Jeff Bezos himself says so - but as a consequence, the game's servers have been overwhelmed with players. Amazon has since opened up more servers, but those early adopters - in other words, New World's biggest fans - are currently stuck on packed servers.

Amazon has promised that a free server transfer option would be made available to players, which was initially planned for the first week of October. That was then pushed to last week, and now the team has announced that it'll totally be next week now, honestly this time.
