Ready or Not is a tactical horror game where you creep through sprawling mazes of American decay searching for violent suspects amidst cowering bystanders. Steam currently loves it, but after spending a few hours with it I can't say I do. At its best it's an admirably tense puzzle game punctuated by twitchy shootouts,…

Minecraft players spend 400 hours building Genshin Impact's Mondstadt at 1:1 scale

Members of German Minecraft build group Skyblock Squad have spent a combined total of 400 hours putting together Genshin Impact's city of Mondstadt at 1:1 scale. Well, actually, it's at an even larger 1:1.15 scale, since Minecraft has "limited ways of getting detail into your builds". Work began in August, so those hours were spread out over about five months of work.

The build is absolutely gorgeous, and some of the more important buildings even have full interiors, to boot. You can scroll on down to see a timelapse video of the construction, or check out more images at Planet Minecraft, where you can also download the map to explore it for yourself.

This isn't the first time we've seen Genshin Impact rebuilt in Minecraft. Back in November, we were mighty impressed to see Albedo's Campsite faithfully recreated - it's still a fantastic creation, but perhaps slightly less impressive now that we've seen all of Mondstadt recreated in the block-builder.

Project Zomboid's revamped endgame will let you build a

Project Zomboid blew up big time in 2021, and the devs at The Indie Stone are providing more and more detail on what to expect from the game's upcoming updates. We've now got a broad roadmap laying out the basics of what to expect from the next seven major updates, and loads more info on what to expect from the upcoming Build 42.

Build 42 will rebalance mechanics like traits, professions, and skills, and will "begin the expansion of the 'tech tree' (as in the soft emergent tech tree from recipes, not an 'unlock via tech points' type of tech tree) of the game significantly to provide a more rich end-game experience", as the devs explain in a blog post.

"While we may not hit this spot in our first build, our ultimate goal is to provide significantly extra crafting potential to allow players to effectively create a post-apocalypse nu medieval community, to provide plausible alternatives to any of the lootable items in the game that would logically be plausible with the correct skills and resources so players don't feel pressured to restart the early game repeatedly to get long term fun out of the game."

Geoff Keighley reminds you of Summer Game Fest as E3 2022 goes online-only

E3 will once again be an online-only event, as organising body the Entertainment Software Association has now confirmed. The group cites continued concerns around COVID-19 outbreaks as the reason, though the Consumer Electronics Show has gone ahead in Las Vegas this week. The Game Developers Conference is still scheduled to take place in San Francisco this March.

"Due to the ongoing health risks surrounding COVID-19 and its potential impact on the safety of exhibitors and attendees, E3 will not be held in person in 2022," the ESA says in a statement provided to GamesBeat. "We are nonetheless excited about the future of E3 and look forward to announcing more details soon."

Geoff Keighley took the opportunity for one of his now-trademark cheeky jabs at modern E3, reminding the world that "Summer Game Fest returns summer 2022" in a tweet. The event had already been confirmed ahead of The Game Awards in December, and there are certainly more places than E3 to get your mid-summer gaming announcements these days.

Guacamelee devs swap Metroidvania for Diablo in Nobody Saves the World, out this month

The devs at Drinkbox Studios have built their reputation with colourful takes on the Metroidvania formula like Guacamelee and Severed, but they're taking a more Diablo-inspired path with the action-RPG Nobody Saves the World. Revealed back in April 2021, Nobody Saves the World has just gotten a proper release date for later this month.

Nobody Saves the World hits PC via Steam and PC Game Pass on January 18, 2022. (It also hits Xbox One, Xbox Series S and X, and console Game Pass on the same day.) If you want to pick it up with a standalone purchase rather than Game Pass, you can expect to pay $24.99 USD on your platform of choice. The game's online co-op features are supported for friends "within the same platform ecosystem", according to a press release.

The game casts you as a nobody - but one who can transform into over a dozen different forms, each of which has its own unique mechanics. You can create your own loadout by mixing and matching an array of abilities, as you delve into randomised dungeons in an effort to, as the title suggests, save the world.

Genshin Impact Enkanomiya Key Sigil locations

Looking for Genshin Impact Key Sigils? The Genshin Impact 2.4 update introduces a brand new region called Enkanomiya, a mysterious land underneath Inazuma that is said to be the original home of the Watatsumi people, Kokomi's ancestors.

Enkanomiya holds many secrets, and in order to access them, you need to collect Key Sigils. These magical floating runes come in five varieties, and they are used to open seals across Enkanomiya - each seal can only be opened by a Key Sigil of the same design. Like Anemoculus in the overworld, they're spread throughout the map, and you'll pick them up as you explore.

Not all the Key Sigils are immediately collectible; some of them can only be accessed as you progress through the area's quests. Collecting all the Key Sigils nets you an achievement and a small number of primogems. To help you find any you may be missing, we've put together a map of all Genshin Impact Key Sigil locations. Before you can access Enkanomiya for the first time, you need to find a couple of Key Sigils in Inazuma. If you're looking for those, we've got you covered.

     Dragon Age 4 is

It has now been over one full year since we saw a trailer for Dragon Age 4. (It still doesn't have a title, either, but what else are we going to call it in the meantime?) BioWare has provided a few scant details since then, and today brings fans another tiny morsel of acknowledgment.

"Of course, we remain hard at work on the next iterations of Dragon Age and Mass Effect," BioWare general manager Gary McKay says in a blog post. McKay says that "as for Dragon Age, we have a veteran group of talented developers working on the next iteration of the franchise. We are focused on a single-player experience that is built on choices that matter."

And that's your Dragon Age update for 2022 - but hopefully it won't be the only one this year. The devs previously confirmed that it would be a single-player-focused experience in another blog post last year. Earlier in 2021, industry insiders reported that BioWare scrapped live service plans for the new Dragon Age in favour of a traditional RPG campaign, which may explain why it's been taking so long for a substantial update on the new game.

Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order sequel cliffThese days, it feels like everyone has become cynical about Star Wars. Even those who enjoyed some of the more recent Star Wars films feel that Disney handled the new trilogy poorly. And the series has indirectly led to countless internet fights and controversies that became very tiresome very quickly. However, series aficionados at least seem to agree that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, the 2019 Metroidvania-esque action game made by Titanfall developer Respawn Entertainment, turned out surprisingly well. And fortunately enough for those who enjoyed the game, it seems that Respawn may announce a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order sometime this year. As of right now, Respawn has not officially confirmed that an announcement will come. Word of this potential sequel came courtesy of reporter Jeff Grubb, who spoke about it on the most recent episode of his GrubbSnax news show.      Mass effect bioware reputation fans trustIt's with mixed feelings that I view BioWare these days. Around a decade ago, the Canadian studio was one of my favorite developers of Western RPGs. BioWare introduced us to such classics like Knights of the Old Republic and, of course, Mass Effect. While the company thrived under EA after its acquisition in 2009, it didn't take long before things got concerning. The failure of Anthem and the departure of some of its top creators certainly felt like a red flag. However, the new general manager, Gary McKay, is optimistic for a turnaround.
