The next Sims 4 DLC has leaked

We're entering a new season for The Sims 4, and we've got a roadmap teasing us with what to expect through the end of March. We know a new game pack is coming - likely one focused on wedding parties - but there are also two more kits on the way, and one of the micro-DLC packs has apparently leaked through a store listing.

A Microsoft Store listing for The Sims 4 Carnaval Streetwear Kit was uncovered by Aggiornamenti Lumia on Twitter this week. A February 3 release date was noted for the DLC, and the listing included a screenshot. The tweet with the leaked info has since been deleted, but fansites like Sims Community have saved it for posterity.

The designs of the Carnaval Streetwear Kit fit in with the roadmap's promise of "vibrant kits that celebrate fierce design". As you'd expect, the Carnaval clothing is mostly colourful and revealing - maybe a bit chilly this time of year, but hey, Brazil is mostly south of the equator, it's fine.

The best God of War settings for performance on your gaming PC

We've climbed the mountains of Midgard, braved the fogs of Vanaheim, and slayed plenty of Valkyries along the way to bring you the best God of War settings for performance on your gaming PC. While the former PlayStation exclusive is infamous for pushing the PS4's hardware to its limit, you don't need the best graphics card to get Kratos looking as photogenic as ever. If you're still on the fence whether you should jump into this console classic, check out our God of War review.

This PC port comes with several PC-exclusive features, such as improved graphics settings and ultrawide monitor support. God of War also boasts Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR to help boost fps, so there's something for GeForce and Radeon users.

Meanwhile, Nvidia Reflex helps keep system latency down to a minimum, so you don't suffer any unnecessary input lag when trying to avoid an attack from an enormous troll.

Valve says the Steam Deck is definitely, for real shipping in February

In November, Valve announced that the first shipment of Steam Decks had been delayed from December 2021 to February 2022. Shortly after, Valve said that it was confident there would be no further delays to the system's production. Now, in the new year, Valve is saying once again that the first wave of Steam Decks are going out in February.

"We're on track to ship Steam Deck on time," Valve says. "Global pandemic, supply issues, and shipping issues notwithstanding, it looks like we'll be able to start getting these out the door by the end of February." The devs point pre-orders here, where you can check on the current availability window for your reservation. Of course, any new reservations are going to have a vague 'after Q2 2022' window.

In the remainder of the new January update, Valve says it's ramping up work on the Steam Deck Verified effort, and you'll start to see games on the Steam store rated for categories like input, seamlessness, display, and system support soon.

Watch Company of Heroes 3 smash a bunch of helpless buildings to smithereens

WWII RTS games Company of Heroes and Company of Heroes 2 were great at showing off destruction on the battlefields, whether they were on the Russian steppe or the quaint towns of Normandy. Company of Heroes 3, however, has the benefit of modern graphics hardware to power devastation that's more realistic, down to loosened bricks tumbling onto soldiers below after an artillery barrage.

A new devblog posted in the Company of Heroes 3 forums shows off how this is going to look in-game, and even provides some comparison video between the older Company of Heroes games and the upcoming version. As Patrick, a lead environment artist on Company of Heroes explains, the older games had to use some, er, smoke and mirrors to convey the effects of buildings collapsing or having holes punched through the walls by tank rounds. Camera-based effects were used to show debris, which wasn't truly part of each scene.

It's a whole new ball of wax for Company of Heroes 3, however, and Patrick includes no less than four examples of what it looks like on video. Now, there's real physics involved. "In CoH 3 we fracture the entire building, which results in real geometry pieces of debris - as opposed to FX debris used in the past," Patrick explains.

American Truck Simulator devs provide 18 screenshots of upcoming industrial buildings

I love looking at American Truck Simulator screenshots, because it means looking at an absurdly detailed recreation of the most mundane facets of American life. Today, the devs are bringing us an extensive look at the industries of the upcoming Montana DLC, including 18 bespoke screenshots of industrial buildings. This is legitimately very exciting for me.

The image you see above is of a waste transfer station, which the devs describe as "a building or processing site used for temporary deposition, consolidation, and aggregation of waste. This station is used for sorting of the waste to plastic, glass, or paper, and then all of these materials move on for recycling, or they return to different factories to be used in production."

All these buildings serve as depots for you to pick up or drop off loads, and range from airports to talc factories, sugar plants, and landscape supply distributors. There is, sadly, no release date yet for the Montana DLC, but you can get a broad breakdown of all the industries in the developer's full blog post.

Relicta epic games storeAt this point, everyone knows the Epic Games Store drill. The Fortnite kings over at Epic Games give out a free game every week, allowing players to jump in and experience a new title for no cost. It's a good deal for simply having the Epic Games Store launcher installed, as you'll probably find a game you're interested in sooner or later. If you haven't jumped into the Epic Games fervor yet, maybe this is the week for you. Relicta, the first-person physics-based puzzle game will be free on the Epic Games Store next week. Now, I was no physics star in high school. In fact, I failed magnificently, with low marks all around. So maybe a game that leans on physics-based gameplay is not for me, as my brain cannot properly understand why or how objects fly in the air. But maybe you're different from me and want to give the game a chance. In fact, Relicta was received well by us, so most players will probably end up enjoying it anyways.   Physics is puzzl...

The Settlers release dateThe Settlers is a rather storied franchise dating back to 1993. Developed by Blue Byte, the series was eventually distributed by Ubisoft by the fourth title and turn of the century, leading to releases through 2010. But Blue Byte then focused on the Anno games, leaving The Settlers to languish for more than a decade. Now, however, Ubisoft has announced that the reboot of The Settlers has a release date and will be out in couple of months. The game brings the series back to the land of the living by allowing players to once again set up their own settlements just like the good old days. The game is set to release on March 17, so we've got a couple of months to go before we can jump in. This reboot of The Settlers is being developed by Ubisoft Düsseldorf. It's one of Ubisoft's three German development houses that were all under the Ubisoft Blue Byte umbrella prior to that name being phased out in 2020. This new iteration is said to be strongly inspired by fan favorit...

Intel Arc Alchemist Gpu Lineup Release Date Price PerformanceIntel still has much to reveal about its upcoming ARC Alchemist GPU lineup due later this year, but a Linux Mesa driver update has revealed a few more clues about how many products we could expect. As spotted by Phoronix, Intel's open-source Linux graphics driver developers have revealed plans to support 20 different models, though that doesn't necessarily mean we should expect so many options. We know Intel plans to release desktop and mobile lineups for its first wave of graphics cards, but 20 different device IDs sounds like a tall order. The list likely accounts for engineering samples, low-end variants, models that are not guaranteed to release, and of course the surefire mainstream gaming-tier entries such as the 512 execution unit model that's rumored to challenge Nvdia's RTX 3070 family.   Seeing as Intel didn't have anything substantial regarding ARC to show at CES 2022, it remains unclear if the graphics cards will still launch in Q1 this...

King Arthur Knight's Tale Delay Delayed MarchThe fine folks over at NeocoreGames can't help but to keep teasing us. Once scheduled for a February release date, King Arthur: Knights Tale has been delayed once more. Thankfully for those awaiting this dark fantasy RTS, it isn't a significant amount of time. Instead of releasing on February 15, Knights Tale will emerge from the darkened depths on March 29. The developer is focusing on sharpening swords during those two weeks. In a press release, NeocoreGames writes that it is "confident that the extra weeks of development and polish will help to deliver the strongest possible version of King Arthur: Knight's Tale for its fans." This isn't the first time the game got pushed, however. A two-week delay was announced for the game nearly an exact year ago. Certainly, another month-ish isn't all too bad. I suppose it's the least fans could hope for. It could be worse.   Of course, it's not like you can't play it right now....
