Watch Dogs: Legion isn't getting any more updates

Ubisoft has announced it will not be updating Watch Dogs: Legion any further, marking an end to the 2020 RPG's post-launch support. The news comes just one year and three months after the game's release on October 29, 2020.

In a message to the fans posted on Ubisoft's website, the Watch Dogs: Legion development team look back on the game's journey and previous post-release content, before stating that update 5.6 was the "final update for Watch Dogs: Legion". The devs thank fans for their engagement, saying: "we've loved seeing your content and passion."

Season 5 for Watch Dogs: Legion's online mode began on January 22, though the game will enter an end-of-life state once the season ends. Its content will cycle, moving between seasons three to five, and repeating indefinitely. Ubisoft says players will be able to receive "both new and returning rewards" in Online Mode, and will have the chance to unlock content they missed out on in the past. That includes a jacket belonging to a Mr Aiden Pearce, as well as the outfit of his favourite nephew, Jackson.

The best Milano loadout in Warzone Pacific

Looking for the best Warzone Milano loadout? The Milano 821 is a special weapon as it can be paired alongside the best assault rifles in Warzone and the best sniper rifles in Warzone. Whether you're looking for the Milano to handle medium range or long range encounters, this weapon can be built for any situation.

There are two distinct ways to build the Milano. While you could make it a powerful long range weapon, it excels as a medium range gun, typical of SMG class weapons. We reckon that the medium range build is likely to be the better one out of the two, but for something a little bit different, we figured it's certainly worth looking into a longer-range spec.

So without further ado, here are a couple of the best Warzone Milano loadouts to try out for yourself: whether you wish to use it as more of an assault rifle or its intended use as an SMG. Once you've seen the best loadout, you can compare them with the best Warzone guns to see how it fares.

You can overclock an Intel i5 Alder Lake CPU to 5.7GHz, but probably shouldn't

Non-K processors aren't designed with overclocking in mind, but an enthusiast has managed to squeeze more performance out of Intel's Alder Lake Core i5-12490F. How much performance? Well, according to CPU-Z benchmarks, the chip reached 5.7GHz, meaning it could be one of the best gaming CPUs in terms of base clock speeds.

Spotted by TUM_APISAK, the CPU-Z validator figures are thanks to BCLK overclocking, a method that boosts clock speeds by altering the TDP limit. By bumping the chip to 142.53MHz and switching boost core voltage to 1.696V, the overclocker managed to increase the CPUs original base frequency by 90%.

Unlike similar 12th gen Intel CPUs, the i5-12490F features the same P and E cores found in high-end Alder Lake models. This particular i5 also comes with a larger 20MB cache, something that also distinguishes it from other 6C silicon chips. Before you get too excited, it's worth noting that the Core i5-12490F is exclusive to the Chinese market. Even if you manage to get your hands on one, you'll likely need an elaborate CPU cooler to achieve similar performance heights.

This Valheim mod adds good dogs and pesky rabbits

A dog is man's - and, apparently, Viking's - best friend, though good puppers are nowhere to be found in Valheim. You can typically fill the void with oodles of wolves, but there's now a mod you can try if you want to hang out with some dang good boys.

OdinPlus's Goodest Boy mod adds some pesky rabbits that'll munch on your berries and some fine hounds to chase them away once you find them. With that in mind, I set out to find myself a dog once loading into the Viking game after downloading the mod - I've got a garden to think of, after all. Dogs only spawn in the Black Forest during the night when it's raining, though, so I busy myself with base building and material collecting for the new pupper. The mod adds 'bestest sticks' and a 'yummy bones' you can craft with wood and skeleton remains, so I go hunting for them to ensure I can feed the dog.

Night comes and goes, though the rain doesn't follow, so I use the power of Odin - read: the command console - to bring a downpour. While a pupper eventually shows, I forget you have to tame animals in Vaheim before they're friendly. Thankfully, I'm able to lure the dog into the log cabin while only being slightly mauled, though the furniture isn't so lucky. After some time and treats, though, the pupper settles, and we're free to go chase off some rabbits.

Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless gaming mouse review

The Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless gives you just about everything you'd want from a gaming mouse, wireless or otherwise. It should be a comfortable fit for most hands and grip styles, has fantastic build quality, and offers a good amount of customisation via its iCue software. There are a few niggles that stop it from being perfect, but none of these drawbacks significantly impact the experience to the point of spoiling the appeal of this reliable rodent.

The first thing that strikes me about the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless is its weight. After playing a tonne of Call of Duty: Warzone and League of Legends, I can safely say that I don't feel weighed down by this clicker. Creating a lightweight wireless gaming mouse is no easy task (just ask the HyperX Pulsefire Dart), and the design of the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless thankfully doesn't compromise to achieve its 79g weight.

In fact, there are only five grams separating the wireless and wired versions of this mouse, which are otherwise more or less identical. The wired version is significantly cheaper, costing $50 USD / £40 GBP less, but this is a given disadvantage of all wireless peripherals. And while there's a jump in cost to cut the cord, the Corsair Sabre RGB Pro Wireless is competitively priced compared to its rivals at $109 USD / £89 GBP.

How to choose a YuGiOh Master Duel starter deck

Wondering which YuGiOh Master Duel starter deck to pick? The new YuGiOh digital duelling platform is here, and card game veterans, anime fans, and new players alike are diving in to try it out.

After downloading the free-to-play game and completing the basic tutorials, you receive 1,000 gems and the option to choose one of three starter decks. Each of the three starter decks belongs to a different playstyle and uses a specific type of summoning, which prompts the all-important question - which one is the best?

The answer to this question, of course, depends on your level of familiarity with the card game. If you're new to YuGiOh, you may want to stick with a simple deck for a while as you learn. On the other hand, if you're a more experienced duelist, you may want to know which starter deck has the best cards for future use. Fortunately, your choice here doesn't matter too much, as you can eventually unlock all three starter decks as you play through the missions.

What is the current and next Genshin Impact banner?

Wondering what the next Genshin Impact banner is? Genshin Impact banners adhere to a pretty regular schedule. Each update arrives with a new banner that lasts around three weeks, and after it expires, it's followed by a second banner which also lasts roughly three weeks, at which point it's update time once again.

This means even though we hear rumours of new Genshin Impact characters arriving in forthcoming updates, we won't know their exact release date until we know which banner they will be a part of, and whether it'll be the first or second banner in the update. Occasionally, banners don't stick to this schedule - most notably, update 1.3 had three two-week banners, so that Hu Tao's banner didn't cross over with the Chinese New Year.

Typically, each limited character banner - or Event Wish - contains a five-star character, and three four-star characters. There's also a Weapon banner - Epitome Invocation - which runs alongside each character banner, and features different weapons each time. Here's everything you need to know about the current and upcoming Genshin Impact banners.

Destiny 2: what is the Legendary Lost Sector today?

Are you looking for the Legend or Master Lost Sector locations in Destiny 2? While many Destiny 2 Exotics can be bought from Xûr or even in the world loot pool, the Exotics in these special Lost Sector instances cannot, forcing players to explore these dangerous areas if they want the best equipment available. To make matters worse, you have to complete them on your own to get a chance at the best rewards.

Before you can take on Legend Lost Sectors, you need to complete all the normal Lost Sectors first. If you don't, the new Legend Lost Sectors will not appear on the map. There are two quests per day in which the location, modifiers, and rewards rotate out for something new. The location for the Legend Lost Sector quests appear with the daily reset at 5pm UTC.

It's important to remember that Exotic drops are not guaranteed after completing these quests, so you may have to run through the same Lost Sector multiple times. You can go through them quests with a fireteam, but your rewards will be reduced to Enhancement Cores only.

Best PC controller – the top gamepads for PC in 2022

Whether you're wanting to tear up the mud and asphalt in the new Dirt 5, stroll through the forestry in the best RPG games, soar above your local city in Microsoft Flight Simulator, or you just prefer using a pad over mouse and keyboard, owning one of the best PC controllers is the way to ensure the perfect gaming experience. From flight control replicas to your basic analogue joystick controllers, the best gamepads for PC have a lot to offer across many game genres.

Yes, whether it's a great wired or wireless pad, an official or third-party device, having a well-built, comfortable controller can really make the difference to your game. So it's important you make the right choice.

We've checked out the official Microsoft Xbox and Elite pads, as well as the excellent new Sony DualSense PS5 controller. But the likes of Nacon and Razer are all making decent alternatives if you're looking for a flashier design or just want a host of different buttons at your disposal. But the biggest gamepad decision is about whether you favour the Xbox's offset thumbstick design or the symmetrical PlayStation layout. For our money, the offset design gives you the best balance between control and easy access to the buttons, making the Xbox controller the best PC game controller you can buy.

The Twitch Rivals tournament SquidCraft Games over the weekend included a number of players in Andorra, several of whom dropped out after their connections exploded. Trying to blast a whole country offline to ruin a Minecraft tournament sounds like the setup for a bad YA metaverse novel but may be a terrible vision of our future.

Japanese singer and songwriter Daichi Miura will also appear as a guest on the broadcast. It will be held on February 4, 2022 at 8pm JST/3am PT/6am ET/12pm CET. The broadcast will be an hour long. It will be available to listen to entirely for free through radiko. However, the Hideo Kojima radio broadcast will only be available to listen to for a week after its initial broadcast date. Samurai Bringer

Indie developer Alphawing and Publisher Playism have announced Samurai Bringer, a new roguelite action game coming to current platforms in Spring 2022. The announcement game via Playism's Game Show 2022 live stream event. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

A trailer for Samurai Bringer was also on hand to show off the game's unique art style, which blends "low-fi" voxel style graphics with more modern lighting and shading.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=97gawLsbKIM

Alpha Wing and Playism bill Samurai Bringer as a single-player "roguelite"-style action game. Players play as the deity Susanoo, on a quest to rescue his spouse from Yamata-no-Orochi, the eight-headed snake. However, his quest goes awry, and he's drained of his powers. He must undergo a gauntlet of tests from his big sister Amaterasu to regain power and subdue the villain. Stage layouts will change each time players play. Players can change their loadout of special abilities to find the right mix of tactics and weapons to defeat the numerous Yokai and samurai enemies in their way. They can select from a variety of samurai archetypes with different weapons, looks and combat styles.

Players can also unlock new styles, weapons, and armor by defeating one of the more than 100 named warlords roaming Samurai Bringer. These warlords correspond to famous names from Japanese samurai history, like Oda Nobunaga, Sanada Yukimura, and Date Masamuna. Defeating them unlocks new weapons and abilities, like war fans, spears, and even ninja-style dual knives. Players will also retain the techniques and loadouts they unlock, so being defeated doesn't mean the end.

Samurai Bringer is coming to PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC in Spring 2022. It'll support Japanese, English, and Chinese upon release.

genshin impact mondstadt figures

AmiAmi has opened up pre-orders for a collection of Genshin Impact Mondstadt figures from miHoYo. The collection is called "Senjou no Yuushi," which can translate to "Noble Figures on the Battlefield." Each box of six will cost 7200 JPY (approximately $63.40) and will ship out in May 2022. [Thanks, Dengeki Hobby!]

This "Senjou no Yuushi" collection is focused on Klee, Venti, Barbara, Fischl, Kaeya, and Diluc. Each figure also has them with or holding a relevant item. For example, Diluc and Kaeya are holding their swords, while Venti has his lyre. Meanwhile, Oz perches on Fischl's head. Barbara's item is also a seventh "secret" figure, which is the Anemo Statue of The Seven.

[gallery columns="4" ids="913845,913848,913847,913846" link="file"]

Despite the fact that each box contains six figures, there is no guarantee that you will get all of them. That means you may have to purchase additional boxes if you are after a certain character, or are interested in collecting all variations. When and if miHoYo will release a similar series for Liyue or Inazuma characters is unknown.

Though the type of merchandise is different, fragrance company primaniacs announced pre-orders for Genshin Impact perfumes earlier in January 2022. This line-up has bottles for the Liyue characters Zhongli, Childe, Ganyu, Keqing, and Xiao. While Childe is from Snezhnaya, he frequently appears in Liyue-oriented advertisements or merchandise. The same company also released fragrances for Mondstadt characters in September 2021.

Genshin Impact is readily available on PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. The Genshin Impact "Senjou no Yuushi" Mondstadt series figures are available for pre-order on AmiAmi.

Sol Cresta Release Date

Platinum Games announced the release date for its arcade-style shoot em' up Sol Cresta. After a brief delay announced earlier in November 2021, Sol Cresta will release on February 22, 2022, for the Nintendo Switch, PC, and PlayStation 4. Additionally, Kamiya revealed that he is now the Vice President of Platinum Games.  [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

Initially slated for a December 2021 release, Platinum Games later delayed the game in order to ensure Sol Cresta's quality and add new gameplay elements. Platinum Games founder Hideki Kamiya stated on stream that he does not believe in "mastering up" a game and prefers not to set release dates. Sol Cresta producer Takahito Washisaka, on the other hand, stated that they must decide on a release date.

In order to choose, the company employed the use of a gacha machine and ended up with the February 22 release date. After the official announcement, the live stream also revealed new key visual art. Towards the end of the stream, Kamiya played a new portion of the game and explained some basic gameplay mechanics. Nagoshi Studio

NetEase officially established Nagoshi Studio, with Yakuza series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi as President and CEO. Alongside Nagoshi is Daisuke Sato, who also left Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio last year. Other members include industry veterans and frequent past collaborators from SEGA and other Ryu Ga Gotoku franchises. In an interview, Nagoshi explained why he decided to leave his former studio to go independent. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

At its founding, Nagoshi Studio totals nine members from various backgrounds. Aside from Nagoshi and Sato, Judgment series producer Kazuki Hosokawa is part of the team, as well as Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania producer Masao Shirosaki. With this new endeavor, Nagoshi hopes to make "dramatic games" that will entertain people across the world. Notably, Nagoshi already has a plan for the studio's first game. He describes it as a "diverse title" that will be valuable to those from various cultural backgrounds and perspectives.

Furthermore, Nagoshi reveals that he decided to go independent due to the difficulties involved in games for large companies.

It's a pretty obvious thing and not necessarily bad, but large businesses have plans laid out years in advance, and decide their product line up based on that. Even if you make a game, development revolves around those details and budgets. The reason why we went independent is because we wanted to make games without any of those prerequisites. And when we told NetEase that we wanted to 'go our own way creatively', they said they were on board.

This doesn't mean we'll be making games that won't sell, of course. As before, proper release timing and a product that fans will enjoy are our major requirements. The content might be bolder than before, but we'll still be looking at the market realistically.

Nagoshi expressed hope that Nagoshi Studio will be a company where people can talk freely. He adds that NetEase respected his creative freedom the most and that he himself is surprised that a non-Japanese company is funding him.
