Genshin Impact's events can often feel puzzle-driven and sparse. Last year's Lantern Rite Festival was a bit like a festive museum display.      A new GTA game is

Rockstar Games has confirmed that the "next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway". While the news is surely unsurprising given both the series' longevity so far and the astonishing success of 2013's Grand Theft Auto V - which, as of November 2021, has sold 155 million copies - it does mean we now have official confirmation that the next GTA is in the works, whatever it might be.

"With the unprecedented longevity of GTA V, we know many of you have been asking us about a new entry in the Grand Theft Auto series," Rockstar says in a new Newswire post. "With every new project we embark on, our goal is always to significantly move beyond what we have previously delivered — and we are pleased to confirm that active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway."

While there are no details beyond this on what the game is, exactly, the studio adds that it looks forward to "sharing more as soon as we are ready, so please stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire for official details".

Total War: Warhammer 3 Tzar Boris Bokha – the secret legendary lord

So you want to know about Total War: Warhammer 3's Tzar Boris Bokha? Also known as Boris Ursus, he is the secret tenth legendary lord that will be available in Creative Assembly's highly anticipated fantasy strategy game at launch. But who is he? And how do you unlock him?

Tzar Boris Bokha is a popular character from the Warhammer Fantasy tabletop game, one of the few named leaders of the fan favourite faction, Kislev. Kislev is one of the six launch Warhammer 3 races but their main legendary lords have already been revealed as Tzarina Katarin and Supreme Patriarch Kostaltyn. If you're versed in Warhammer Fantasy lore, you'll know that Boris is actually Katarin's father and it's his voice we hear in the original Warhammer 3 reveal trailer.

It is believed that he vanished while fighting the forces of Chaos, but Creative Assembly recently announced on Twitter that he had been "freed from hibernation" and that he was coming to Warhammer 3 as a new legendary lord. This means that, at the time of writing, Kislev is the only faction with three legendary lords at launch. Boris isn't available straight away, however - you will need to unlock him first in order to play his campaign.

We finally know what Ghostwire: Tokyo is

Ghostwire: Tokyo made a heck of a first impression when it debuted back at E3 2019 with a mysterious trailer introduced by studio head (and Resident Evil legend) Shinji Mikami and creative director Ikumi Nakamura. Since then, Nakamura has left the studio, and after a few more similarly unrevealing trailers, we still haven't seen much indication of what the game actually is. A recent behind-closed-doors gameplay presentation changed that, and now we have an hour of action from the early stages of the story to break down for you.

So what is Ghostwire: Tokyo? Basically, it's a first-person action game where you shoot ghosts with spiritual energy. Combat looks something like a modern, action-oriented Resident Evil game: slow-paced, but without the constraints of true survival horror. It all takes place in an open-world version of Tokyo filled with activities to complete and quests to undertake. That stuff will all feel familiar, but the bit of Ghostwire that has me dying to see more is its unhinged sense of surrealism.

Ghostwire puts you in control of Akito, a seemingly ordinary guy who's been fused with a spectral ghost hunter named KK. Akito has a very strait-laced, everyman reaction to all the horrors around him, while KK serves as his cynical mentor, whose world-weary advice is delivered with a dollop of dry irony (KK's also got some things to say about economic morality, telling Akito at one point that "all property is theft, kid"). A strange fog is causing the people of Tokyo to disappear, and the pair are trying to track down the mysterious masked villain Hannya and put a stop to the spirit realm incursion.

     Genshin Impact Ayato release date

Want to know more about Ayato, the head of the Kamisato Clan coming to Genshin Impact? Kamisato Ayato is the Yashiro Commissioner and one of the new Genshin Impact characters. Although there are not many details on Ayato, we do know he is a Hydro character that uses swords, is Ayaka's older brother, and is also pals with Thoma.

When Ayaka and Ayato's parents passed away, Ayaka became the forefront of the Kamisato Clan, while Ayato worked within the government. He also leads the Shuumatsuban, the ninja organisation that Sayu belongs to. We haven't seen much of Ayato around Inazuma, as he tends to operate behind the scenes - many Genshin Impact characters comment on Ayato's skills as a fighter, as well as his busy schedule as head of the Kamisato Clan.

In keeping with his position as head of a secret ninja organisation, Ayato is a pretty secretive character, so while we've only been treated to glimpses of his character throughout Genshin Impact so far - here's everything we've managed to glean about Ayato. Although we know of Ayato's existence in Genshin Impact, he hasn't yet been announced by Mihoyo, and this guide is based on datamined information.

Apex Legends ranked system: Season 12 maps and rewards

Want to learn more about ranked play in Apex Legends? If you want to take your battle royale game skills to the next level, fighting against unranked players isn't going to cut it. First off, you need to earn a rank by playing several ranked matches until you establish your skill level. Once you start to find it difficult to earn points every game, you can use ranked matches to learn how to become a better player.

Apex Legends features two types of ranked play: Ranked Arenas and Ranked Battle Royale, with the points you earn being separate for each and if you reach the highest rank in Ranked Battle Royale, this won't have any impact on your Ranked Arena status. Apex Legends Season 12 isn't going to change the scoring system in ranked, but there are plenty of additions that should have an impact at the highest levels of play.

To go beyond Bronze, the lowest ranked tier, you must reach a ranked points (RP) threshold first. While one streamer managed to go from the bottom to top rank in a single session, this process is going to take most people weeks, if not months to slowly climb the ranked ladder. Here's everything you need to know about the ranked system in Apex Legends, including the ranked tiers, penalties, and rewards on offer.

Steam should soon let you see game sizes before installing them

It looks like there's a neat new change coming to Steam that should improve how you manage your storage on a busy PC. As spotted by The Verge, a small but super helpful update to the platform's client beta means that you can now see the size of a game before you go and boop that install button - so if you're wrangling with some already-stacked storage, this should help you juggle things more easily.

If you're opted into the Steam client beta (which you can find via the platform's settings menu) you'll now see a new UI feature right next to the big blue install button on a game's page in your library. Where the live version of the client currently includes your 'last played' information, in the beta version there's a 'space required' UI element that tells you how big that game is. This information normally only pops up when you've already hit the button and got the thing installing.

It's only a minor change, and the live client doesn't make things too tricky at all, as you can always cancel a game's download as soon as you've kicked it into gear, but it's nonetheless a really handy update.

How to change skins in Minecraft

How do you change skins in Minecraft? There are a lot of cool skins out there, allowing you to roam this popular open-world crafting game looking like anyone you fancy, Spider-Man? There are skins for that. Master Chief? Reporting in. The sky's the limit, and you don't even need any Minecraft mods to get it to work.

First thing's first, you need to know what version of Minecraft you're playing on. The differences between Minecraft Java and Bedrock are subtle, but can be quite profound on how you change skins in one of these. The new unified Minecraft launcher makes changing skins with Minecraft Java a lot easier, but for Minecraft Bedrock skins things are a little different, especially if you're not playing on PC.

You also need to find something to kit out your avatar in the first place. Check out our favourite Minecraft skins to see our top picks of favourite skins, as well as download links as to where to grab the PNG files.      The Nintendo Switch makes the Steam Deck look like a colossus

The Steam Deck is set to be a chonky, portable powerhouse, but photos of the device sitting next to a Nintendo Switch really put its size into perspective. Shared by Carygolomb on Twitter, the images make Valve's handheld look like a goliath compared to the Switch OLED model, and its handles make it substantially thicker too.

Carygolomb's thread also compares the Steam Deck to some of gaming's bulkiest gadgets, including the Sega Game Gear, Atari Lynx, NEC TurboExpress, and the iconically large Wii U gamepad. From what we can tell, it looks like Valve could earn itself the title of "biggest handheld ever", as it's even larger than the original Game Boy's retail packaging.

The size of Valve's Steam Deck shouldn't come as a surprise, especially since it's essentially a small, low-spec gaming PC. Yet, placing the device next to various portables hammers home the fact that it's in a different league. Sure, you could fit the Deck in the pocket of your overalls like a baby kangaroo, but ultimately, the handheld is far too big to be another Game Boy tribute act.

Genshin Impact gets a Raiden Shogun rerun and bartending minigame in update 2.5

While we knew that the new Genshin Impact character Yae Miko would be playing a leading role in update 2.5, we now know what else is coming our way when the next batch of content lands on February 16. Mihoyo has delved into the anime game's new patch in its latest livestream, revealing a Raiden Shogun banner rerun alongside several new story missions and events.

We'll be kicking off update 2.5 with a Yae Miko banner, though the second phase will involve a rerun for Raiden Shogun. The two take a leading role narratively, too, as both of them will get story quests in the new update that flesh out their character.

We're getting some neat events, too. Of Drink A-Dreaming is a minigame that turns Genshin Impact into a bartending sim. You'll take up the role of a bartender in Diluc's Tavern, where you have to craft drinks to the tastes of your patrons. You have up to five ingredients to pick from, and there are several ways you can prepare the drink, too. Some patrons will be pretty straightforward with what they want, though others will require you to get creative. If you manage to create a drink to their tastes, though, you'll unlock special dialogue to get to know them better.

Genshin Impact codes: 2.5 livestream codes

Looking for Genshin Impact codes? MiHoYo's charming open-world game is notoriously addictive, and if you're anything like us, you're constantly on the lookout for more Genshin Impact primogems and other goodies.

Gathering currency in Genshin Impact can be quite the grind - while you can earn mora and primogems by completing quests such as daily commissions, an injection of extra funds will always be gratefully received. Fortunately, the developers MiHoYo occasionally send out free gifts in the form of Genshin Impact codes that can be redeemed online.

These Genshin Impact codes are released periodically. They frequently appear in MiHoYo's special programs that reveal information about future updates coming to the game soon, but are also released to celebrate milestones or to coincide with Genshin Impact events. Most codes also only work for a limited time - so it's a good idea to redeem them as soon as possible in case you miss out. Codes can only be redeemed once per account. Here are all the current Genshin Impact codes for February 2022, and how to redeem them.

Luckily, Secretlab's Valentine's Day sale is now live, meaning you can save up to $130 on some of its most popular gaming chairs, and win some serious relationship points come February 14.

What is the current and next Genshin Impact banner?

Wondering what the next Genshin Impact banner is? Genshin Impact banners adhere to a pretty regular schedule. Each update arrives with a new banner that lasts around three weeks, and after it expires, it's followed by a second banner which also lasts roughly three weeks, at which point it's update time once again.

This means even though we hear rumours of new Genshin Impact characters arriving in forthcoming updates, we won't know their exact release date until we know which banner they will be a part of, and whether it'll be the first or second banner in the update. Occasionally, banners don't stick to this schedule - most notably, update 1.3 had three two-week banners, so that Hu Tao's banner didn't cross over with the Chinese New Year.

Typically, each limited character banner - or Event Wish - contains a five-star character, and three four-star characters. There's also a Weapon banner - Epitome Invocation - which runs alongside each character banner, and features different weapons each time. Here's everything you need to know about the current and upcoming Genshin Impact banners.

Genshin Impact devs confirm Kamisato Ayato

Mihoyo has revealed another new character for Genshin Impact. This one is called Kamisato Ayato, and he's a hydro sword user who serves as the Head of the Kamisato Clan.

"As the head of the Yashiro Commission, Kamisato Ayato is committed to maintaining the prosperity and stability of the region," Mihoyo says. We also get a comment from Thoma to flesh his personality out further. While the "game of politics is fraught with peril", Ayato apparently takes little joy in it all, as he merely sees it as a matter of duty.

Like a lot of Genshin Impact characters, there are traces of Ayato in the anime game already. He was teased in a trailer focused on big Oni lad called Arataki Itto, and he's also the sibling of Ayaka, who comments on how busy he is in-game following the passing of their parents. "As the head of the Kamisato Clan, brother always has a full schedule of places he needs to be," she says. "I do try my best to share his load, but there is no changing the pressure he is subjected to all year round, and the toll it takes upon him. If you see him, remind him to take care of himself, for his sister's sake."

The best Genshin Impact Yae Miko build and team comp

Looking for the best Yae Miko build? The popular pink-haired priestess is arriving in an upcoming Genshin Impact banner as part of the Genshin Impact 2.5 update.

Based on beta information, Yae Miko looks like a powerful Electro DPS character, capable of dealing substantial damage. However, she requires a lot of energy for her burst, so if you're planning to take on the most difficult content, we recommend running her as a sub-DPS alongside a good "battery" - a character who generates lots of energy for their team.

To help you figure out how to play Yae Miko, we've put together a guide to the best Yae Miko build and team composition. Bear in mind, however, that this is all based on unreleased data and is subject to change when the Yae Miko release date arrives. If you're preparing to pull for her then we recommend checking our Yae Miko ascension materials guide so you can start stockpiling everything we think you'll need to get her levelled up.

Meta's Oculus Quest store rakes in $1bn in VR revenue

Meta has announced that its Oculus Quest store has earned the company over $1 billion in revenue, following a push towards VR and Metaverse related tech. According to its Q4, 2021 earnings report, spending on the storefront has quadrupled, jumping from a monthly average of $12 million to $51.3 million USD in comparison to 2020.

The social media giant didn't break down its impressive store revenue, but the value likely comprises standalone VR games and cross-buy Oculus PC game purchases. The earnings bump is also a testament to the success of the Oculus Quest 2, as the Meta only raked in $150 million prior to its best VR headset's arrival.

Just last week, Facebook's parent company announced that it's replacing its Oculus branding with a new Meta Quest moniker to better suit its metaverse ambitions. This could mean the Oculus Quest 3 will drop its placeholder name and kickstart a new linage, while its mixed reality Project Cambria device will distance itself from the VR gaming brand.

     April is a

We've got a little more of an idea about when Deep Rock Galactic Season 2 should drop. Back in December, developer Ghost Ship Games revealed that it was aiming for the co-op FPS game's second season to "go live sometime between March and April", but now we know it's more likely to be at some point in the latter month.

"Everything is moving along nicely with the content for Season 2," the devs say in a blog post, later adding that, while they don't have a firm release date for the new season just yet, "it looks like April is a likely target". As the studio explains, this means players still have some time yet to polish off the Season 1 Performance Pass - though, if you don't get it wrapped up in time, all unclaimed content will go back into the game through cargo crates, lost packs, cosmetic matrix cores, and the shop, so you won't lose the chance forever.

As for what's coming with Season 2, the devs have now revealed the first of the four new secondary weapons coming to the game - a crossbow-like contraption called the Nishanka Boltshark X-80. You can check out the reveal clip for this below. Another secondary will be revealed in the devs' next weekly stream on Twitch on February 10.

League of Legends patch 12.4 notes – New champion Renata Glasc, Shockblade skins

It's that time again, League of Legends fans. Patch 12.3 has made the leap from the MOBA game's PBE to live servers, which means it's now turn for a new testing cycle to kick into gear. League of Legends patch 12.4 has now arrived for its fortnight-long round of testing and tinkering, and there's already plenty to check out.

The big news this patch is the arrival of yet another new champion. Hot on the heels of Zeri's release with League of Legends patch 12.2, Renata Glasc has now made her debut on the PBE. Known as the Chem Baroness, she's a powerful figure with "an advanced technological heritage" from Zaun, who has risen through the ranks to become the region's wealthiest chem baron - "a business magnate who built her power by tying everyone's interests to her own". Mysterious, persuasive, and with what sounds like a bit of a ruthless streak, Renata Glasc is being launched as a support champ. You can check out all of her abilities, stats, and skins in the notes below.

Elsewhere this patch, we've got some new Shockblade skins on the way for champions Kassadin, Shen, and Qiyana, and the new-and-improved Firelight Ekko - which was previously delayed - is now on the way.

Genshin Impact 2.5 livestream time confirmed – here's when it starts

Genshin Impact's current round of fresh content is drawing to a close. We got a new area called Enkanomiya and two more characters - Shenhe and Yun Jin, if you missed them. Now, though, it's time to look towards what's next. Mihoyo has revealed that it's hosting a livestream to dip into Genshin Impact's next update.

The devs have kept their cards close to their chest regarding what we'll see, though we have a few titbits to keep us going. The developer revealed a new character called Yae Miko to round out 2021. She's the Grand Narukami Shrine's head shrine maiden and a "descendant of Kitsune lineage". When not serving as a religious figure, though, she busies herself as the "intimidating" editor-in-chief of Yae Publishing House, which publishes light novels. Mihoyo typically teases characters one patch before they're set to arrive, though we also see Yae Miko in the art for the upcoming livestream. Basically, it looks like there's a good chance Yae Miko will have a banner in update 2.5.

The devs have also just revealed Kamisato Ayato - a hydro character who is the head of the Kamisato Clan. If you think his name is oddly similar to Ayaka, that's because they're siblings.

Eight years after the launch of Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar Games have finally confirmed yes, they really are making a new GTA. For eight years they've focused on adding new content to the MMO-y GTA Online mode, which seems a licence to print money by selling in-game cash for real cash. This has made some fans ornery, wondering if they'll just keep on plugging away at GTAO forever, especially with GTAV coming to next-gen consoles this year. But no, really, Rockstar say they really have been making a new one.

It's not that easy, you know, hating everything. Deckbuilders are bad, I repeat, while enjoying one against my will. D&D can go to hell, I screech, in between weekly sessions. Corporate saturation crushes better games, I insist, alt-tabbing out of Vermintide.

This week it's the FTL-inspired The Last Bastion that's making things difficult. You're the leader of a defeated army regiment, retreating across a series of regions to a stronghold where your king plans to make a last stand. It's sort of roguelike, with a hint of something like Reigns in balancing your forces and reputation, with light interactive fiction parts. I'm a little bit annoyed that I like it.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is an upcoming action-adventure game from Tango Gameworks (aka the folks behind The Evil Within), which means it has ghosts and ghost-adjacent monsters in it. Last night Bethesda showed off a bit more of the game with a streamed showcase, with a ten minute breakdown of the game in action. I, however, was privy to a hands-off presentation that comprised a whole half an hour of Ghostwire Tokyo being played. What luxury!

It reminded me much less of The Evil Within than I expected. It has a lot of horror elements, don't get me wrong, but Ghostwire: Tokyo is much more of an action game using the language of horror to convey its themes than the other way around. Rather than spending most of your time on the back foot, creeping around in the hope you can get past a lumbering ball of dead lady limbs with most of your health intact, time in Ghostwire: Tokyo is more likely spent one-shotting headless demon schoolgirls with a bow and arrow. The general vibe, if not the specifics, reminded me a lot of classic, thundering 90s and 00s action films like Blade. So, in other words, Ghostwire: Tokyo looks rad as hell. Even better, it's also unashamedly strange.

If you're opted into Valve's Steam client beta, you may have noticed a couple of small but potentially very helpful UI updates that rolled out in the past few hours. Changes that are available on desktop but could be even more helpful, methinks, on the upcoming Steam Deck.

The first appears on the Library page of games you own, but haven't installed yet: a new "Space required" string that lists how much hard drive or SSD space it will need. As it stands on the main Steam client, you can't normally see this info without clicking the Install button, so that's a click saved whenever you're trying to find out if a new game (or nostalgic re-install) will fit onto stuffed storage.

When you become a game designer, you are handed a big book of antagonists to use as guilt-free bullet fodder. First among them is the reliable, stinky zombie. (Also found in this repertoire are Nazis and Slimes. They are beyond the scope of this listicle.) The zombie is a preternaturally killable being. mitsuri demon slayer figure

Good Smile Company opened pre-orders for a Pop Up Parade figure of Mitsuri Kanroji from Demon Slayer just in time for Valentine's Day. Pre-orders will close on March 3, 2022. For Japanese buyers, she will cost ¥3,900 and release within June 2022. Customers in North America can pre-order the figure for $38.99, and she'll ship out in August 2022.

The Demon Slayer Mitsuri figure stands at around 16 centimeters in height. This makes her slightly shorter than the normal 17 to 18 centimeters, but it shouldn't be noticeable. Despite her alert expression, she stands in a rather relaxed pose. You can also see her Nichirin Sword, though she is not holding it. As this is a Pop Up Parade figure, you cannot pose or move her in any way.

Here are some more pictures of the Mitsuri figure:

Mitsuri is one of the Hashira and the master of Love Breathing techniques. She appeared briefly at the end of Demon Slayer season 1, showing her shy but jovial demeanor. She does not fight in the show, and she does not appear as a playable character in Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles.

The Demon Slayer Mitsuri Kanroji Pop Up Parade figure will come out in Japan in June 2022 and in North America in August 2022. She is available for pre-order until March 3, 2022.

Preview: Ghostwire: Tokyo's Gameplay Loop Involves Shrines and Spirits

Ghostwire: Tokyo is going to be a game that dips into two worlds. It is grounded in reality, set in Shibuya. However, yokai and ominous characters from Japanese folklore lurk around every corner. An ominous person named Hannya lets chaos loose on the city. Fog turns people into spirits. Gates open. An exorcist that could have helped deal with it all is killed, but bound to a young man. More importantly, a recent hands-off preview event offered enlightening details about how Ghostwire: Tokyo's gameplay works.

Things began quite early in the game. It hasn't been long since Hannya attacked the city. Akito fused with KK, an exorcist who described himself as "one of the country's guard dogs who ran with a pack of strays." This is represented visually as a sort of black fog over Akito's right eye. (It also means that, in certain situations, you can leave certain actions to KK instead of handling it yourself.) Things began with the "duo" heading to Yugenzaka to start handling the city's issues.

Preview: Ghostwire: Tokyo's Gameplay Loop Involves Shrines and Spirits

It's here that a sort of gameplay loop begins to form for Ghostwire: Tokyo. As Akito explores Shibuya, he will come across shrines and Torii Gates. These gates will need to be cleansed. After he does, he'll gain access to shrines. These can contain things like katashiro that can be used to save spirits or new abilities. For example, during the preview session Akito started with a wind-based attack, then gained a fire-based one from one shrine. Gaining access to the shrine will also open up areas on the map. Which means he's growing in strength and helping to take back the city.

But what happens with a katashiro? These are paper dolls that can be used as talismans. In Ghostwire Tokyo, people might come across spirits of folks who encountered the fog. By using a katashiro, their spirits can be collected and preserved. (You can get them from shrines or your friendly neighborhood nekomata in a convenience store.) Once you have one, heading to a pay phone can provide an opportunity to send them "outside" the barrier around the city. KK's associate Ed set up the system. The game even keeps track of how many folks you saved. For example, during the preview session about 200 had been collected of the 240,000.

While heading to shrines, collecting spirits, and fighting visitors along the way are one part of Ghostwire: Tokyo gameplay, exploring locations seems to be too. For example, during the session Akito headed back to KK's former apartment. There he collected a bow KK had found before things went awry. However, while there another being with ill intent set up a barrier around the building. It could crush everyone inside, as well as alter reality within it. Akito needed to head around to find barrier stones. This meant exploring both the inside and outside of apartments there. When indoors, things would shift. Even some mild platforming was shown as a place's dimensions would shift and furnishings like couches would be suspended in midair. Once the barrier was dealt with, Akito could use Spectral Vision to follow the shadow of the offender and attempt to track them.

Preview: Ghostwire: Tokyo's Gameplay Loop Involves Shrines and Spirits

While the Visitor enemies and Akito were definitely around, they weren't the only residents of Shibuya shown during the session. Early on in the footage, a Shiba Inu appeared. It was barking at something unseen. It served as a warning that a Visitor lurked in an alleyway. When wandering the streets, tengu flew above. Akito could grapple onto them to reach a building's roof. One side quest on the way to the Shiroyama Shrine involved the spirit of an old woman concerned about her zashiki-warashi. Akito could take on the quest to save zashiki warashi, exorcise the corrupted person holder her hostage, and then gain her power as a reward.

So for now, we know of a handful of the tasks Akito (and KK) will tackle as part of Ghostwire: Tokyo's gameplay. Eliminating Visitors will be a regular occurrence. So will cleansing shrines and saving citizens' spirits. There will also be occasions where you'll investigate areas to take down barriers, as well as cleanse and purify corrupted areas or people. However, this is only a portion of things to come. More will likely come up as its 2022 draws nearer.

Ghostwire: Tokyo will come to the PS5 and PC on March 25, 2022.

Square Enix Third Quarter FFXIV

Square Enix released several financial statements concerning its third quarter results. While sales for the company's general game sub-segment went down, sales for its MMO sub-segment rose in comparison to the previous year. Square Enix largely contributed its success in the third quarter to Final Fantasy XIV. The game saw a sharp increase in subscriptions during that period. Final Fantasy XIV's Endwalker expansion also released within the third quarter. As mentioned, Square Enix noted that its general game sub-segment went down in comparison to the previous year. This was largely due to a title like Final Fantasy VII Remake not releasing within that period. [Thanks, 4Gamer!]

Additionally, Square Enix noted that performance within its mobile sub-segment was fairly weak within already existing titles. However, overall net sales within its mobile division rose in comparison to the previous year.

Leading up to the release of Final Fantasy XIV Endwalker, Square Enix saw a massive increase in players. In July 2021, the FFXIV Complete Edition had entirely sold out on PC and PlayStation 4. While players could eventually purchase the title again, it remained congested due to the sudden influx of players. Additionally, in October 2021 Square Enix announced the player base for Final Fantasy XIV officially exceeded 24 million players.

Genshin Impact Animated Video Shows Ayato, Yae Miko

As part of the 2.5 update stream for Genshin Impact, a number of new videos appeared. While many of them showed gameplay, one was a bit different. Instead, it was a new animation. The latest Genshin Impact animated video featured the Inazuma region, with upcoming playable characters like Yae Miko and Ayato Kamisato appearing.

The brief segments after show Kokomi Sangonomiya at Watatsumi Island and Raiden Shogun in Tenshukaku. The video ends with Yae Miko again, though this time she is standing in front of the Sacred Sakura Tree.

Release Date Set for Genshin Impact 2.5 Update

During the February 4, 2022 Genshin Impact Special Program, the release date for update 2.5 appeared. People will be able to pull for new characters, take part in new quests, and engage in new activities starting on February 16, 2022. It will also mark a return to Enkanomiya for new story segments.

This follows the typical pattern for Genshin Impact updates. Typically, the new one begins the day after some of the current gacha banners and events expire. The Ganyu and Zhongli rerun banners both end on February 15, 2022. Not to mention the Aftermarket Stage Event Shop for the Fleeting Colors in Flight Lantern Rite closes on February 14, 2022.

Among the many new additions in 2.5 will be the debut of a new character and return of past units. Yae Miko, a five-star Electro unit who uses a Catalyst, will be the update's new character. Among the rerun characters will be Raiden Shogun, an Electro polearm-wielder. Both factor heavily into the Archon Quests set in Inazuma. They'll each get their own story quests, which will appear immediately after the update drops. However, you will need to beat Raiden Shogun's first two story quest chapters to unlock Yae's.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. It will eventually come to the Nintendo Switch. The release date for Genshin Impact update 2.5 is February 16, 2022. People will be able to watch a reply of the February 4, 2022 Special Program on the official YouTube channel sometime after its debut today.

Yae Miko Banner Confirmed for Genshin Impact 2.5

As expected, thanks to earlier teases, a Yae Miko banner will be part of the Genshin Impact 2.5 When the Sakura Bloom update. The new five-star unit will be the lone new character following the patch. The other banners will be rerun ones for Raiden Shogun and Sangonomiya Kokomi. All three will feature prominently in the new story. Yae Miko will show up first, then the two rerun banners will appear in the second phase.

Yae Miko will be an Electro character. She'll wield a catalyst in battle. She's very closely tied to fox spirits, which feature prominently in her Elemental Burst and idle animation. Her Elemental Skill will summon lightning down to damage enemies. The first chapter of her Story Quest will appear in 2.5 too.

Here's a quick peek at her in-game.

As for Raiden Shogun, she'll be returning in a rerun banner for the first time since her September 2021 debut. As a reminder, she's another Electro five-star. Her weapon of choice is a polearm, though for her Elemental Burst she uses a sword. The second chapter of the Raiden Shogun Story Quest will appear in 2.5 too.

Kokomi also first appeared in Genshin Impact back in September 2021. She's a five-star Hydro catalyst user. She's known best for her healing abilities.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. It will eventually come to the Nintendo Switch. However, Ayato does appear to be a sword user like his sister. That said, more details regarding Ayato Kamisato will appear in the future. For the time being, miHoYo released a total of two images featuring the character. Additionally, the Japanese Genshin Impact Twitter account shared who will voice him in the Japanese version of the game.

Nintendo announced that sales for Pokemon Legends: Arceus surpassed 6.5 million units within a week of the game's release on January 28, 2022. The company did not specify whether this number combined physical and digital sales. However, the announcement tweet confirmed that this figure came from worldwide sales.

This sales figures came not long after Famitsu reported that Pokemon Legends: Arceus sold 1,424,657 physical copies in Japan from January 28-30, 2022. The Japanese outlet also confirmed that the new game outsold prior Pokemon releases on the Switch during the same length of time.

In its October-December 2021 financial report, Nintendo announced that Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl had surpassed 13.97 million units sold worldwide as of December 2021. It remains to be seen whether Arceus will also break new sales records in the long term.
