Ownership of the Lord of the Rings series has somehow been in the news twice this week. Firstly and most prominently because the rights to the series are going up for sale for the first time since the 1970s. Secondly, and more bizarrely, because this week of all weeks a prominent Lord of the Rings mod was hit with a…

If you made it through the entire series of Book of Boba Fett, you were treated to a terrible finale and a two-episode narrative diversion that derailed the entire premise of this being a show about Boba Fett.      Soulslike metroidvania Salt and Sacrifice launches in May

Salt and Sanctuary was one of the first game to successfully combine some of the odd rules of Soulslike games with the 2D exploration of the metroidvania. Its sequel, Salt and Sacrifice, which was announced last summer, will debut on PC May 10.

"2D Dark Souls" isn't a terrible starting point when describing Salt and Sacrifice, but it's definitely bringing its own ideas to the table as well. You're a marked inquisitor, charged with hunting down powerful elemental mages who are causing death and devastation across the land. You'll pick from one of eight character classes and set out on your journey, finding new weapons and battling huge monsters in demanding, technical combat. Destroying mages' hearts yields materials for creating new, unique weapons to help you on your quest.

You can play alone or in co-op, or engage in a bit of invasion-based PvP if you want to make someone else's journey more challenging. Salt and Sacrifice lets you password protect your game, however, so you can exert some control over who gets to invade your world if you choose.

It also now has a release date: May 10th, according to a new trailer below.

New Atelier Ryza 2 and Atelier Sophie Figures Shown

Two Atelier series figures appeared among the Good Smile Company WonHobby 35 announcements. Both are at different stages of their development. A painted prototype of an Atelier Ryza 2 figure that features Ryza in a swimsuit showed up. So did an unpainted prototype Sophie figure from Atelier Sophie. There's no release date for either one yet.

First, here's the new Atelier Ryza 2 figure. In it, Ryza is wearing a swimsuit that looks a little similar to the Tropical Summer swimsuit available as DLC in the game. There's also a Puni made out of sand at her feet.

Next, here's how the Atelier Sophie figure is looking so far. The Everyday Me version dresses her in her normal in-game outfit. She also is surrounded by books and is holding a pen, as though she's creating a new alchemy recipe.

Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC. Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS3, PS4, Vita, and PC.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Nendoroids Announced

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid Nendoroids are in development. Good Smile Company revealed them during its stream of WonHobby 35 announcements. All three will be coming from Good Smile Arts Shanghai. Tohru, Kanna, and Ilulu will each get their own figures. However, there's no release window for them yet.

Here's the official announcement for the three figures. There's no concept art for them yet. Rather, the reveal included the regular art for Tohru, Kanna, and Ilulu. The three are the among most notable dragons that appear throughout the series and interact with Miss Kobayashi, with Tohru being the "star."

Quite a lot's been going on for Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. In 2021, the second season of the anime appeared. There is going to be a new game based on the series too. Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Burst Forth!! Choro-gon Breath is an upcoming shoot'em up that stars characters like Tohru and Kanna.

Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is streaming on both Crunchyroll and Funimation. The Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid: Burst Forth!! Choro-gon Breath PS4 and Switch game will launch in Japan on March 24, 2022.

Blue Archive Figma and Figure Prototypes Shared

We already knew Good Smile Company was working on a Blue Archive figma and figure. It revealed concept art for the two back in December 2021. At WonHobby 35, it showed off all of the characters' progress. But people aren't just going to see a Shiroko Sunaokami figma and Karin Kakudate figure. An Asuna Ichinose figure is being made too. Unpainted prototypes of all three showed up as part of the event's announcements.

First, here's a closer look at the Shiroko figma. The Abydos character is wearing her normal uniform. The prototype also showed that her assault rifle will be included with the figure.

Next is the Karin scale figure. She's holding her sniper rifle. While her outfit looks like a maid uniform, it is actually her normal Millennium Science School attire.

Finally, this is how the Asuna figure looks. While she's also a Millennium Science School student like Karin, she is wearing the same outfit as her in-game Bunny Girl variant here.

Blue Archive is available for Android and Apple iOS devices worldwide. The Blue Archive Shiroko figma and Asuna and Karin figures don't have release dates yet.

Ramlethal Valentine Guilty Gear Nendoroid is Coming

Good Smile Company revealed its next Guilty Gear Nendoroid will be of Ramlethal Valentine. The character will wear her Guilty Gear Strive attire for the figure. The announcement came up among the company's WonHobby 35 news. However, only a basic announcement with her stock character art showed up.

Here's the reveal that a Ramlethal Guilty Gear Nendoroid is on the way. While occasionally the announcement includes concept art of the character as a Nendoroid, that didn't happen this time. Her greatswords will likely appear with the final figure, though.

This will be the second Nendoroid based on a character from the series. The first was Dizzy. She showed up back in 2021. The figure's design was based on her Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 look. Necro and Undine were also included with her.

Good Smile Company's sold a number of Ramlethal figures in the past. In 2016, two 1/8th scale figures based on her Guilty Gear Xrd -SIGN- appeared. (One was in her Color No. 8 style.) In 2018, a Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator- 1/7th scale figure showed up.

Guilty Gear Strive is available on the PS4, PS5, and PC. There's no release window yet for the Guilty Gear Ramlethal Nendoroid.

Next Hades Nendoroid is of Thanatos

Another character from Hades is being made into a Nendoroid, as Thanatos is in the works. Good Smile Company made the announcement during WonHobby 35. The character is still early in development, however. Rather than showing off an unpainted prototype, only concept art of the upcoming figure appeared.

Here's a closer look at how Thanatos might look. It seems like he'll arrive armed with his scythe. That's his go-to weapon in Hades.

As a reminder, pre-orders for the Zagreus Nendoroid are open until March 9, 2022. That figure comes with the character and his Stygian Blade. He also comes with Nectar.

In Hades, Thanatos is one of Zagreus' possible love interests. (Provided he spends time with them and gives them Nectar.) His other relationship options are Dusa and Megaera. However, it is unknown if either of them could also end up appearing as figures. Good Smile Company did confirm it is working on a Pop Up Parade figure of Zagreus.

Hades is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC. The Zagreus Nendoroid is expected to ship before the end of 2022. The Thanatos Hades Nendoroid doesn't have a release window yet.

3 Tsukihime Remake Nendoroids Announced

Tsukihime Nendoroids based on the characters' looks in the remake Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon are in development. Good Smile Company announced Arcueid Brunestud, Akiha Tohno, and Ciel are in development. As all three are still early along, only concept art of the three showed up as part of the WonHobby 35 event.

First, here's an idea of how the Arcueid figure will look. She's wearing her usual top and skirt.

Next is the Akiha Nendoroid.

Finally, this is how Ciel might look. She will apparently be wearing her glasses for her figure.

While there have never been Tsukihime Nendoroids before, there were Nendoroid Petit figures of some members of its cast. There was a Type-Moon Collection released back in 2013. Arcueid and Ciel both appeared among the 11 available characters. (Arcueid was actually there twice, as she showed up as Phantas-Moon too.)

The Tsukihime: A Piece of Blue Glass Moon remake is available on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Japan. The three Tsukihime Nendoroids don't have a release date yet.

Silent Hill 2 Bubble Head Nurse and Pyramid Head Figures Teased

Good Smile Company is working on more Silent Hill 2 figures of the Bubble Head Nurse and Pyramid Head. These will be more affordable, as each one is part of its Pop Up Parade line. Each figure in this series costs $39.99. At WonHobby 35, it showed unpainted prototypes of both for the first time.

First, here's the Bubble Head Nurse. She's wielding a lead pipe.

Next, here's Pyramid Head. He's got his knife in hand.

This isn't the first time Good Smile Company made figures of both the Silent Hill 2 Bubble Head Nurse and Pyramid Head. However, last time they were both articulated and more expensive. It previously released figmas of both characters. Both were rereleased in 2021. Like the static figures, each one included weapons so you could pose them as though they're ready to attack.

They'll join some other recent Silent Hill merchandise. Pre-orders are open for the upcoming Silent Hill 3 Robbie the Rabbit Nendoroids.

More Helltaker Nendoroids and a Lucifer Figure are in Development

A bevy of Helltaker figures appeared at WonHobby 35, with one being a Pop Up Parade figure and the other three being Nendoroids. Though technically, you could say there are five Nendoroids. A Lucifer figure is coming, for one. There will also be Nendoroids of Justice, Modeus, and Cerberus.

First, here's the Helltaker Lucifer Pop Up Parade figure. This will mark Good Smile Company's second one. In 2021, it released a Nendoroid of the character.

Next is the Justice Nendoroid. She is the furthest along of the three, as an unpainted prototype of her appeared. As expected, she has her sunglasses on.

Here's the Modeus Nendoroid announcement.

Finally, this is the Cerberus Helltaker Nendoroid announcement. While Cerberus consists of three people, the trio always appears at once in-game. Good Smile Company didn't note how it will handle the figure of them.

The new Helltaker figure and Nendoroids are in development. The Lucifer Nendoroid appeared in Japan in December 2021.

There won't just be two Undertale Nendoroids. A third one is on the way. In addition to Sans and Papyrus, an Undyne Nendoroid is in the works. She appeared for the first time at WonHobby 35. The two boys showed up two, as painted prototypes were shown for the first time.

First, here's the Undyne Nendoroid announcement. Only concept art for the upcoming character appeared. She will be wearing her full suit of armor for the figure.

As for Sans and Papyrus, both are painted for the first time. When Good Smile Company showed them off in December 2021, only unpainted prototypes of both were available. The latest reveal also didn't show any possible accessories or additional face plates for them.

There's no word yet on when any of these Undertale Nendoroids could appear. The Sans and Papyrus figures should appear ahead of Undyne, given that they're already painted and have been in development since September 2021. No other Undertale figures appeared as part of the WonHobby 35 announcements.

Next is the Maya Nendoroid from Persona 2: Eternal Punishment.

Danganronpa Junko Enoshima Nendoroid Announced

It's been almost 10 years since the last Danganronpa Nendoroids appeared, and now Good Smile Company announced a new figure. One of the more familiar faces is coming to life. A Junko Enoshima Nendoroid is in development. There's no release window for her yet, though.

Here's the official announcement. Only the Junko Nendoroid concept art is available, and it is based on her Danganronpa 1 and 2 Reload appearance.

The original Danganronpa Nendoroids were figures of Makoto Naegi and Monokuma. Those came out in 2013. The Monokuma one ended up getting a rerelease, which also appeared in 2013.

This is the second recent Danganronpa figure of Junko. In 2021, a Pop Up Parade figure of her appeared. As that is part of the company's budget line, it was a static figure.

The Danganronpa series celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2020. As such, a number of entries were rereleased on various platforms. Most recently, Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc Anniversary Edition made its Xbox debut back in January 2022.

The Danganronpa Junko Enoshima Nendoroid is in development. The original Danganronpa is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PSP, Vita, Xbox One, PC, and Android and Apple iOS devices.

Subnautica project m sci-fi strategy game unknown worlds reveal early accessSubnautica developer Unknown Worlds is working on its next game, which was teased in its parent company's recent financial report. As spotted by PC Gamer, 'Project M,' as it's currently codenamed, is a sci-fi-themed turn-based strategy game, and is scheduled for Early Access… this year. For fans of Subnautica, the move to a new genre may come as a surprise. However, Unknown Worlds already had the idea long before revealing Project M as its next game. Following the release of Subnautica: Below Zero, Unknown spoke of what was on the horizon. In an interview with our sister-site, The Escapist, David Kalina, Subnautica project lead, offered some details. He said that the team wanted its next venture to be "totally different" from Subnautica. As far as the genre hop is concerned, Unknown didn't want to become a "one-trick pony."   Project M is definitely a departure in that regard. In the report, it won't be a surviva...

Microsoft Flight Simulator Pc Payware Addon Collection Volume 1 CoverMicrosoft Flight Simulator has been steadily amassing a growing collection of add-ons over the last several months.      Blood West Worth It 1We need as many immersive sims as we can get, as far as I'm concerned. Blood West is a new stealth-horror action FPS about carefully navigating and dealing with foes, all while trying to stay alive. It entered Early Access today, and is set to spend another half a year or so in development, as well as receive two large content updates. The game's first section is already in place, which should last most players a few hours or so. But the question stands: is Blood West worth it in Early Access? Or are you better off stalking prey elsewhere? Blood West places you in the undead shoes of an undead man who has been recently resurrected by the Totem of Souls. This 'being' brought you back to supply it with energy from cursed items, or something.      Resident Evil 4 remake clawsRumors of a Resident Evil 4 remake have circulated for quite some time now. It would only make sense for Capcom to reinterpret this beloved classic, as it has already done so with the first three Resident Evil games. Regardless, such a project will likely come to fruition sooner or later. And according to a recent report by Fanbyte, development on this remake may have already started, and it will supposedly contain some significant changes to the original. Apparently, a studio by the name of M-Two initially handled the development of the remake, and this studio consists of former Capcom and PlatinumGames employees.
