Total War: Warhammer III had its highs and its lows, but one thing it got right throughout was its visuals, with a vibrant colour palette and imposing unit design truly doing the source material justice. So it's a pleasure tonight to showcase some of the illustration and character work that went into the game.

First kicking off in 2016, Electronic Arts has traditionally used the week of E3 in early June to hold its own EA Play Live event, during which the publisher would make many of its biggest announcements for the year. That's coming to an end in 2022.

PC Game Pass gets three more day one indie games in March

Microsoft has just announced a pile of new additions to PC Game Pass, including a selection of day one indie game launches for the service.

The highlight of this month's lineup is certainly Weird West, an isometric immersive sim led by the co-creator of Dishonored, due to launch on March 31. We've also got snowboarding sim, Shredders, on March 17, as well as southern gothic cyberpunk adventure game Norco on March 24. Some older games are making their way to PC Game Pass this month, too. We're getting the comedic fantasy RPG game, The Dungeon of Naheulbeuk: The Amulet of Chaos, on March 17, and the mind-bending visual novel collection, Zero Escape: The Nonary Games, on March 22.

While PC Game Pass is still a heck of a deal, the app that delivers those games continues to be a headache for many players. Another app update is in testing for Xbox Insiders, which will make navigating the program a bit smoother, and that will launch for everyone this month.

I like devlogs, those scrappy blogs where game creators crack open the egg of videogames to show you the yolk of development. The mistakes, the dead ends, the iterations; they illuminate the hardships of creation, and they're entertaining to boot.

I like dogs, too. I wrote as much when writing about the horrific rectangular dogmorphs of a particular devlog - doglog? levdog? - back in 2016. Those early GIFs would become Wobbledogs, a pet simulation in which you breed mutant dogs. It has now left early access.

The "occasional stunning oil-painting backdrop" was about the only nice word Ed had to say in his Babylon's Fall review. PlatinumGames first foray into making a live service is otherwise a mess, with repetitive missions, dull combat, confusing stats and loot, and more problems besides.

Publishers and co-developers Square Enix aren't giving up, however. They've launched a survey asking how they can deliver a "better game experience", but it's the graphics they're focused on.

In addition to Dragon Ball Super, people can now find Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon Ball Z on Crunchyroll.

Crunchyroll is now home to more Dragon Ball series. The company announced that Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon Ball Z are all available on the streaming service. Depending on the show, either dubs or both subs and dubs will be available.

The original Dragon Ball anime first began airing in 1986. 153 episodes will be available on the service in both English and Japanese with English subtitles. Dragon Ball Z began its run in 1989. While 291 episodes will be there, only the English dub will be available. Finally, Dragon Ball GT showed up in 1996. There will be 64 dubbed and subbed episodes to watch via the service.

There is already one Dragon Ball series on Crunchyroll. People can watch Dragon Ball Super there. 131 episodes of it are there now.

Here's the official trailer for the shows' Crunchyroll debut.

This is part of the continued merger between Funimation and Crunchyroll. Following Sony's acquisition, it announced that Crunchyroll would absorb the other service. As a result, shows previously only available on Funimation are gradually migrating over. This change also means that the Crunchyroll apps and subscriptions will be the dominant and remaining ones.

Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball GT, and Dragon Ball Z are on Crunchyroll as of March 15, 2022.

Mass Effect Andromeda ea play live 2022Due to the ongoing pandemic, last year's series of monthly game events was a mishmash of random shows put on by publishers and organizers. Without E3 holding it all together, we looked toward companies like Microsoft and Electronic Arts to host its own showcases. E3 2022 is still an unknown at this point. In fact, we don't exactly have a solid list of events for the year. But if you were expecting Electronic Arts to return with an EA Play Live 2022, then we have some unfortunate news. EA isn't planning on a show this year. A company representative reached out to IGN, saying that the giant publisher is skipping out. Instead, it looks like the company is planning on simply revealing information on upcoming games the normal way.   "We love EA Play Live as it's our way of connecting with our players and sharing what's new with all of you," EA told IGN. "However, this year things aren't lining up to show you everything on one date. We ...

Pc Ssd Performance directstorage windows gamesOne of the staple features of the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles is the full integration of PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs. Not only do these systems use SSDs to house data, the OS design takes full advantage of the SSD bandwidth, thus enabling rapid loading times; near instantaneous, in some games. Although the PC market is no stranger to the world of SSDs, squeezing out such breakneck performance the way next-gen consoles do  has not really happened yet. That is, until now with the arrival of DirectStorage. Microsoft has officially released its API for the new technology, and it will allow developers to implement it, thus giving PC players enhanced loading times.   Data speedway How DirectStorage works is that it allows SSDs, specifically NVMe drives, to transfer several gigabytes of data per second. Due to the way that gaming workloads have changed over the years, the existing data transfer processes were not designed for how the workload flows now. Think of it like a literal highway in...
