A lonely thief looking for revenge. A soldier that held said thief in contempt. A pilot falling for the thief at first sight. PlayStation racing sim Gran Turismo 7 has been offline for maintenance for over a day.      Total Warhammer 3's next update will add Workshop support

Total War: Warhammer III developer Creative Assembly has laid out its plans for the near-term roadmap for the fantasy strategy game, specifically discussing some of the big issues that will be addressed in the next major update, version 1.1, which the studio says should be ready to roll out in early April.

Some key changes are coming to the Realm of Chaos in update 1.1. For one thing, it'll be less difficult to simply operate in those areas, as the strength of negative traits associated with each realm is being roughly halved, and daemon legendary lords will not suffer negative traits associated with their patron god at all. Traits picked up in the Chaos realms will be removed once a character completes the survival battle in that realm.

Update 1.1 will also introduce a new building chain called 'Protection,' which will prevent Chaos rifts from spawning in any province where they're built. That sounds like an interesting new choice: you'll be able to protect a certain area from the spread of Chaos corruption, but that could make it more difficult to reach a rift, and you'll only be able to do it by using up a valuable construction slot in one of your settlements.

You can now get this HTC Vive VR Headset for under $500

The VR experience becomes more breathtaking by the day, thanks to headsets like the Oculus Quest 2 and HTC Vive. While VR tech is gradually becoming more affordable, a complete setup can still come with a hefty price tag - that is, unless you're able to grab a great deal, such as $50 off the HTC Vive Cosmos Elite headset.

The HTC Vive Cosmos Elite Headset is easily amongst the best VR headsets currently available. In addition to an external tracking system which registers all of your movements with precision, it can provide clear, crisp high resolution graphics, which produce minimal screen-door effects.

This headset is compatible with SteamVR 1.0 & 2.0 and can be upgraded as new developments are made available, meaning that you won't be left behind as the VR scene starts to move forward into even more impressive realms. Plus, it has a nifty little flip up design so you can easily switch between virtual reality and actual reality - just in case you ever find yourself needing to escape from a situation where the game becomes a little too realistic.

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin's PC port is a dud

Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin has finally arrived, but it apparently doesn't play nice with gaming PCs. According to disgruntled fans, the RPG is plagued with performance issues, and playing on lower settings doesn't seem to alleviate the chaos.

On the Stangers of Paradise subreddit, players are reporting that the fantasy game suffers from slow down and frame rate issues, even when paired with a high-end GPU like Nvidia's GeForce RTX 3080. Additionally, the PC port appears to come with a grand total of four resolution options, accompanied by specific frame rate caps based on what you choose.

Even with said restrictions in place, Team Ninja's take on the Soulslike formula is allegedly gutsy when it comes to VRAM, which could stress out even the best graphics cards available. Over on Twitter, fans are sharing similar concerns, with HopeWithinChaos claiming the game throttles GPU and CPU utilisation, all while struggling to consistently reach 60fps.

Genshin Impact 2.6 banners include Venti and Ayaka reruns

Genshin Impact is getting Venti and Ayaka banner reruns in update 2.6. We knew that new character Ayato would be joining the anime game, but now Mihoyo has confirmed which other characters will be returning to fill out the rest of the banner spots.

Venti's banner will run alongside Ayato's during the first half of update 2.6, which is likely to last three weeks when the update launches on March 30. As usual, the two banners will be separate, so you're not getting the chance to add both of them to your team through wishing on one banner. Venti is an anemo-based character that excels when built as support. Check out our guide to the best Genshin Impact Venti build here if you're curious.

Ayaka, meanwhile, will be getting her first banner rerun in the second half of update 2.6. If the similar name doesn't give it away, she's the sister of the new chap on the block Ayato. A daughter of the Yashiro Commission's Kamisato Clan, she's a sword user who wields the cryo element. If you want to know the best Genshin Impact Ayaka build, you can follow that link.

Genshin Impact 2.6 release date, livestream, Chasm, and banners

Looking for the Genshin Impact 2.6 update release date? There are plenty of 2.6 rumours out there, but developer Mihoyo has already confirmed one new addition due to arrive in its open-world game with the next update: The Chasm, a mysterious disused mine far beneath Liyue.

As ever, information on the next Genshin Impact update has been shared via beta testers and dataminers over the 2.6 beta period. There's reportedly a lot more in store, including a new Inazuman festival called the Irodori Festival. However, it's worth remembering that all information shared by unofficial sources is unconfirmed and subject to change when the 2.6 release date arrives.

There's also another new Genshin Impact character arriving in 2.6 to look forward to - and it's none other than Kamisato Ayaka's older brother, Ayato, a blue-haired Hydro sword user. There's a fair bit of info on his playstyle out there already, so if you've got your primogems ready for his Genshin Impact banner, it's worth taking a look at the rumoured Ayato ascension materials so you're prepared to unlock his full potential. Here's everything we know so far about the Genshin Impact 2.6 update.

Genshin Impact Ayato banner and abilities

Want to know more about Ayato, the head of the Kamisato Clan coming to Genshin Impact? Kamisato Ayato is the Yashiro Commissioner and one of the new Genshin Impact characters. Although there are not many details on Ayato, we do know he is a Hydro character that uses swords, is Ayaka's older brother, and is also pals with Thoma.

When Ayaka and Ayato's parents passed away, Ayaka became the forefront of the Kamisato Clan, while Ayato worked within the government. He also leads the Shuumatsuban, the ninja organisation that Sayu belongs to. We haven't seen much of Ayato around Inazuma, as he tends to operate behind the scenes - many Genshin Impact characters comment on Ayato's skills as a fighter, as well as his busy schedule as head of the Kamisato Clan.

In keeping with his position as head of a secret ninja organisation, Ayato is a pretty secretive character, so while we've only been treated to glimpses of his character throughout Genshin Impact so far - here's everything we've managed to glean about Ayato. Although we know of Ayato's existence in Genshin Impact, he hasn't yet been announced by Mihoyo, and this guide is based on datamined information.

     Genshin Impact codes: March 2022

Looking for Genshin Impact codes? MiHoYo's charming open-world game is notoriously addictive, and if you're anything like us, you're constantly on the lookout for more Genshin Impact primogems and other goodies.

Gathering currency in Genshin Impact can be quite the grind - while you can earn mora and primogems by completing quests such as daily commissions, an injection of extra funds will always be gratefully received. Fortunately, the developers MiHoYo occasionally send out free gifts in the form of Genshin Impact codes that can be redeemed online.

These Genshin Impact codes are released periodically. They frequently appear in MiHoYo's special programs that reveal information about future updates coming to the game soon, but are also released to celebrate milestones or to coincide with Genshin Impact events. Most codes also only work for a limited time - so it's a good idea to redeem them as soon as possible in case you miss out. Codes can only be redeemed once per account. Here are all the current Genshin Impact codes for March 2022, and how to redeem them.

What is the current and next Genshin Impact banner?

Genshin Impact banners adhere to a pretty regular schedule. Each update arrives with a new banner that lasts around three weeks, and after it expires, it's followed by a second banner which also lasts roughly three weeks, at which point it's update time once again.

Wondering what the next Genshin Impact banner is? Even though we hear rumours of new Genshin Impact characters arriving in forthcoming updates, we won't know their exact release date until we know which banner they will be a part of, and whether it'll be the first or second banner in the update. Occasionally, banners don't stick to this schedule - most notably, update 1.3 had three two-week banners, so that Hu Tao's banner didn't cross over with the Chinese New Year.

Typically, each limited character banner - or Event Wish - contains a five-star character, and three four-star characters. There's also a Weapon banner - Epitome Invocation - which runs alongside each character banner, and features different weapons each time. Here's everything you need to know about the current and upcoming Genshin Impact banners.

Genshin Impact new characters in the 2.6 update and beyond

Want to know about new Genshin Impact characters? Since its release in 2020, the addictive anime game has seen plenty of regular updates expanding on the game's content - and adding several new characters by way of limited time banners.

New Genshin Impact characters - according to Mihoyo's Genshin Impact roadmap - should release with every major update. If past experience is anything to go by, during each new patch there will be at least one new banner with a new Genshin Impact five-star character, and possibly new four-star characters included as well. That said, several new Genshin Impact characters have been added outside of this schedule, like Genshin Impact's Klee - so we could see new characters arrive unexpectedly, too.

Yae Miko is the most recent new character to arrive in the Genshin Impact 2.5 update, and we now know that Ayato has been confirmed as the new face for 2.6. There are also a few leaks and some datamined information concerning new characters that may appear in future Genshin Impact updates and beyond. However, until they're officially announced, these characters are not final and may be subject to changes.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 release date

Want to know when the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 release date is? The next season for the popular battle royale game is just around the corner, and we know what might be coming up soon. Epic Games has mostly kept its hand close to its chest, so what little dribs and drabs that have surfaced are either untrue or content that appeared later in the current season.

In fact, the only thing we do somewhat reliably know is roughly when the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 release date is, as the current season ends on March 20. Chapter 3 Season 1 brought Fortnite kicking and screaming into Unreal Engine 5, introducing new mechanics like the braggadocious Fortnite victory crowns and the Fortnite sliding mechanic that gives you a way to descend hills at breakneck speeds.

While we'll miss swinging around the island with the Fortnite Spider-Man web-shooters, it's time to get excited about the future. Here's everything you need to know about Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2.

Stardew Valley is now fully self-published

Eric 'ConcernedApe' Barone has now taken over full publishing responsibilities for Stardew Valley. While Chucklefish was handling the job on Android, Barone has taken over that, too.

The developer has marked the occasion by hosting a question-and-answer session on Twitter, with some decent titbits emerging. Barone reiterates that, yes, there may be more Stardew Valley updates. However, if one does happen, don't expect it to be as large as update 1.5. If you're interested in the publishing side of things, Barone shares that working with Steam is the easiest, as "if your game has issues, that's on you".

Naturally, some people have asked about Barone's next game, Haunted Chocolatier. There is a connection between Stardew Valley and the upcoming PC game, though Barone won't reveal what that is just yet. If you were wondering, the Haunted Chocolatier creator is indeed a fan of chocolate. "I do enjoy [it], but I also think chocolate and candy-making in a dark, snowy town sounded like a fun and cosy thing to do with a lot of room for imagination and magic," he says.

New flagship Intel Alder Lake CPU trumps AMD Ryzen 9 5950X

Intel's Alder Lake Core i9-12900KS has made its way into the wild early, and leaked benchmarks suggest it outperforms AMD's Zen 3 flagship offering. Shared on Reddit by Seby9123 and highlighted by Tom's Hardware, the CPU boasts max boost clock speeds up to 5.5Ghz, while its performance and efficiency cores can reach respective speeds of 5.2GHz and 4.0GHz.

According to the leaked Cinebench results, the Core i9-12900KS achieves 2,162 in single-core tests and 29,164 points in multi-core. Not only does this put it ahead of its predecessor, the i9-12900K, but it also runs rings around AMD's Ryzen 9 5950X chip. This isn't exactly surprising, especially since Intel's new flagship is designed to compete with the upcoming Ryzen 7 5800X3D. However, the fact it's seemingly 29.6% faster than the 5950X boosts its chances of becoming the next best gaming CPU.

Seby's early tests also include CPU-Z data, which confirms that the chip has a TDP of 150W – a 25W increase over the i9-12900K. While this change in power consumption isn't drastic, it could put extra strain on your power supply if paired with an Nvidia next-gen graphics card, especially since the GeForce RTX 4090 apparently guzzles 600W.

The best Elden Ring staff locations

Want to know where the best Elden Ring staff locations are? Staffs are potent tools that you can use to cast sorceries, one of the two types of spells. While you could just use the bog-standard staff that comes with the Astrologer or Prisoner Elden Ring classes, some of the staffs hidden throughout this open-world game are just too good to pass up.

These powerful magical items can amplify the power of your Elden Ring spells to such ludicrous levels that you can melt away even the toughest of Elden Ring bosses with a single blast. One of the best Elden Ring staffs reduces casting times for your more powerful spells, but you can also use Elden Ring spirit ashes to keep enemies away from you while you fling magic attacks at them.

Like the best Elden Ring weapons, you can either find each staff in a set location, buy them from merchants, or pick it up after particular enemies drops it. Unfortunately, they're very hard to obtain, often requiring players to jump across perilous gaps - so to help you out, we've compiled a list of all of the Elden Ring staff locations. You'll also find our recommendations for the best Elden Ring staffs in the game.

Elden Ring Great Runes – locations, rune arcs, and activation

So you want to know about all the Elden Ring Great Rune locations and how to use Great Runes? There are at least ten of these powerful items; six dropped by the main Elden Ring bosses, also known as Demigods, while others are acquired through beating certain quests. Most provide decent buffs for the player, but some are used to unlock new Elden Ring endings, or enable handy game mechanics.

The six main Elden Ring Great Runes are tied to the central story, as you'll need a minimum number in order to access the RPG game's final area. Specifically, you'll need to have collected two Great Runes, and awakened at least one, before you can access the Leyndell, Royal Capital zone. Awakening a Great Rune allows you to equip it and use Rune Arcs to gain its power, but in order to do this you need to seek out that rune's Divine Tower - a special location mentioned on each Great Rune's description before you awaken it.

We've compiled a guide to everything we know about Great Runes - what they do, how you use them, and who drops them. If you want to know where to awaken each one, read our Elden Ring Divine Tower locations guide.

Genshin Impact 2.6 livestream time is soon

March 18, 2022 Here are the Genshin Impact 2.6 banners.

It's nearly time to say goodbye to the era of 2.5, as developer Mihoyo confirms that the Genshin Impact 2.6 livestream time is locked in for today (March 18). The stream will go into detail about everything coming in Genshin Impact's next update, including the new character Ayato and the release date.

As always, Mihoyo has kept the full details of what Genshin Impact fans can expect to see in version 2.6 under wraps, but a few big details have either leaked out or been confirmed. The biggest addition, of course, is Kamisato Ayato, Ayaka's older brother and a blue-haired Hydro sword user. We should hopefully get confirmation of everything we expect to see in Ayato's banner during the stream.

It also looks like Anemo-based support character Venti might get a banner rerun at some point during the 2.6 release, which will be welcome news to any players who missed him the first time around. There are also rumours that YoimiyaKazuha, and possibly Klee and even Ayaka herself may get rerun banners too.

Ghost Song is a gorgeous horror Metroidvania out this year

The Ghost Song release date has been set for 2022, which means we're getting a gorgeous-looking horror Metroidvania to check out pretty soon. Ghost Song has been in development for years - the better part of a decade, in fact - but it seems the end is finally in sight for developer Old Moon.

Ghost Song will launch in 2022 via Steam, courtesy of newly-announced publisher Humble Games. The game was originally Kickstarted way back in 2013, so it's been a long road to release. Today's trailer shows a gorgeous, atmospheric world with just enough creepiness around the edges to give everything a properly unsettling vibe. (Shout out to the guy just using a giant severed robot head as a weapon.)

This one leans toward the Metroid side of the Metroidvania equation, with a sci-fi setting, beam weapons, and a mysterious alien planet to explore. There are also some hyper-specific visual references to Super Metroid, like the ship in the opening and the busted open underground transport pipe.

From the small slice I've played of samurai slasher Trek To Yomi, I'm convinced it's going to be the most Instagrammable game out there. Every frame looks gorgeous, capturing feudal Japan through a grainy black and white lens that evokes classic samurai flicks. Thankfully, there's some substance to match this style too. Combat is elegant and the story seems refined, not bloated, which makes this a ronin romp worth watching out for.

Concerned Ape Discussed Possibility of Stardew Valley 1.6 Update

After Eric "Concerned Ape" Barone announced he'd be self-publishing the Android version of Stardew Valley, he went on to talk about the possibility of a 1.6 update and future game additions. While he began by joking that 1.6 would appear "when 1.5 drops," he went on to discuss things that could show up in the game and how long he might continue to add to it. He didn't guarantee anything, but said there is a chance more content could arrive.

One of the first things Barone said is that there could be more Stardew Valley updates, perhaps like an eventual 1.6 patch, but noted it wouldn't be "as big as the 1.5 update was."

Barone also described one feature that could appear. He said people will be able to move the house and pet area. Currently, in-game they are in an established place when you pick your Stardew Valley farm type. They will always be in the upper right area of the map.

Another response also went over the possibility of more Stardew Valley characters becoming romance options.

Barone also mentioned that platonic versions of the 10 and 14 heart events would need to involve entirely new "friend-only" final events. He noted this would involve "a lot of work."

Stardew Valley is available on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Vita, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices.

Azur Lane - RN Pompeo Magno

The March 2022 Azur Lane event will include a new destroyer shipgirl named RN Pompeo Magno. The Japanese introduction tweet described the character as a shipgirl who often takes on impossible tasks due to her strong sense of responsibility. When she fails the tasks, her mood will drop to rock bottom. Commanders will be able to recruit her by collecting points from clearing event stages.

In history, the Regia Marina originally built Pompeo Magno as a Capitani Romani-class cruiser from 1939 to 1943. After the decommission in 1948, the Italian Navy rebuilt her into a destroyer named San Giorgio in 1955. The Azur Lane personification of this ship will combine the World War II-era name Pompeo Magno with her newer post-war destroyer classification.

The new Azur Lane event will primarily add shipgirls to the Italy-inspired faction Sardegna Empire. When Yostar tweeted a teaser on March 12, 2022, it listed Tower and Lighthouse as keywords for the event. It also teased a new sister to Vittorio Veneto, the faction's flagship known for her radiant authority. The company had since then revealed RN Impero, a sister to Vittorio Veneto, who will appear as a converted aircraft carrier.

Azur Lane is available on Android and iOS mobile devices. A new event featuring Sardegna Empire shipgirls will appear in late March 2022.

Stardew Valley Android Version Now Self-Published by Concerned Ape, Update on its 1.5 Patch Given

Back in 2018, Eric "Concerned Ape" Barone announced an effort to begin self-publishing Stardew Valley on various platforms. Since then, the developer's become the publisher of the game on various platforms, like the PC and Nintendo Switch. Now, another has been added to the list. On March 17, 2022, Concerned Ape confirmed he is publishing the Android version of Stardew Valley and offered an update on its 1.5 patch.

After the announcement, Barone took questions from people on Twitter. He noted that nothing would change for players of the Android version of Stardew Valley. He noted, "It's more just that I'm now fully in charge of the game on Android, including the store page and business decisions." He also brought up how he's wanted to self-publish it "for a long time."

The Stardew Valley Android 1.5 update also came up. Barone confirmed it will still come out on both Android and iOS devices. He spoke candidly about being "demoralized" because of how progress on the Android version of the update is going. He committed to finishing it, though and offered some insight into why it is taking so long.

Barone also mentioned he thought it would be "rude or insensitive" to talk about Haunted Chocolatier before 1.5. He did note there will be connections between the two games.

Stardew Valley is available for the Nintendo Switch, PS4, Vita, Xbox One, PC, and mobile devices.

Genshin Impact Hues of the Violet Garden Event

The Genshin Impact Version 2.6 Special Program broadcast revealed a new Inazuma festival will arrive as part of the update. It is called Hues of the Violet Garden. It will include new and returning activities to take part in. Event participation will reward players with Primogems, level up materials, and Xingqiu. This is similar to the Lantern Rite festivals, in which participating would allow people to earn a free Liyue four-star of their choosing.

This Genshin Impact Inazuma festival will have several different layers to it. A total of four activities will be available for players to participate in during Hues of the Violet Garden. These will include the Theater Mechanicus, Clash of the Lone Blade, an ikebana Floral Courtyard event, and a poetry event. Each of these will have their very own unique mechanics. For example, the Clash of the Lone Blade event will pit players against a swordsman to test their mettle and parry attacks. The Floral Courtyard involves players creating unique ikebana style floral arrangements. Theater Mechanicus is the returning tower-defense game. The poetry activity sends players searching for inspiration.

The Hues of the Violent Garden event won't be the only content that will arrive through the Genshin Impact 2.6 Version update. Players will have access to an entirely new Archon Quest featuring Dainsleif. Players will also get to explore The Chasm. Additionally, Ayato Kamisato will be available to obtain through a limited time banner.

Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Android and iOS devices. It is in development for the Nintendo Switch. The 2.6 update will launch on March 30, 2022.

During the 2.6 Genshin Impact Special Program, three special events were announced. After the update debuts, people will eventually get to take part in Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens; Spices from the West; and Vibro-Crystal Research. While a Genshin Impact event schedule wasn't provided, an overview was offered for each activity. These will show up in addition to a Hues of the Violet Garden Inazuma festival with four activities.

First, Outside the Canvas, Inside the Lens is a photography event. After meeting Asagiri in Inazuma, you'll get assignments to take photos in other locations around the world. This is so she can draw art inspired by them for various authors. In each case, Asagiri will describe the sort of landscape she'd need to see, and then you'll have to go and provide the pictures based on the hints and description. The rewards that appeared during the splash art showed Hero's Wits, Mora, and Primogems.

Spices from the West is a cooking event that will arrive in the Genshin Impact 2.6 update. It will also involve a Sumeru NPC. People will get together ingredients for recipes, then take part in a cooking mini-game to season them. After making some food, you can head to your Serenitea Pot to share it with characters you've unlocked. Each one will have their own preferences, and feeding them can boost your friendship with them. Other rewards from the event include Hero's Wits, Mora, Mystic Enhancement Ores, Primogems, and Weapon Ascension Materials.

Finally, Vibro-Crystal Research is a battling event that will take place near The Chasm. When people head to Liyue, they can set up Transmitter and Receiver Crystals. Doing so will allow for buffs and debuffs while fighting. You'll set up two teams for this "research" for the first and second half, choosing four characters and three Vibro-Crystals. In addition to your own characters, trial characters will also be available to use. The rewards shown during the teaser image included Hero's Wits, Mora, Mystic Enhancement Ores, Primogems, and Weapon Ascension Materials.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch. The 2.6 update will go live on March 30, 2022.

taito egret ii mini review

The Egret II Mini occupies a strange position in the nostalgia hardware market. There's the lower end, which we know well from Nintendo's NES and SNES Classic systems. (As well as the more recent TurboGrafx-16 Mini and the still-running Evercade line.) These are for quick, casual dips into the old library, and focus on delivery quantity at an affordable price point. There's also the high end! Looking to replicate the original experience as closely as possible, companies like Arcade1up are releasing full-on arcade cabinets at nearly the size of the originals.

So where does the Egret land? Its closest peer is the Astro City Mini, the little Sega cabinet that shares a lot of hardware similarities. But the Egret? It's a little larger, a price bracket above (starting at $230 in the West), and built around a screen-rotating gimmick that's hard to replicate.

Turning the screen is easy enough, and more robust and well-built than you might expect. You simply press in the screen piece, and it pops outward to rotate and push back into place. It's a nice nod to the original Egret II, which became popular for its ease to convert to different screen orientations.

taito egret ii mini review

And it's good for these old Taito games! Between the company's early releases and later vertical scrolling shooters, there's a lot in the library to play that way. Still, though, you'd probably also want Bubble Bobble in this thing. The OS is smart enough to detect the screen position and scale any game to fit either screen position, which is a handy touch. (But, you know, rotate the thing anyway. It's sort of the point.)

As the biggest little arcade cabinet out there, the Egret II Mini does come close to acceptable controls size. Is it quite there? Nah, not for the larger hands of the typical Western adults who would be interested in a last-millennium nostalgia piece. The buttons are totally usable, though most of the games not using all six buttons does make us wonder if the aesthetics of keeping all of them there fight against the comfort that a more spread-out configuration could have offered.

Mostly, though, the trouble we had came from the joystick. It's a very good one! And the built-in option to convert from 4-way to 8-way is a nice bonus. But it's a little small, and it's built close enough to the monitor portion that we'd hit our knuckles on the plastic from time to time.

taito egret ii mini review

Optional add-ons for the device offer a variety of add-on controllers, from traditional gamepads to full-scale arcade controls. (And even a trackball! That one comes with a batch of extra titles to support it.) They're not cheap, but they'd likely solve these cramping issues. We didn't have access to those for this review, though, so we can only judge the base unit. We reached out to the Egret's Western distribution team that provided the unit for this review about compatibility with other controller options, but didn't get an answer on that. In our testing, though, no common gamepads seemed to work.

The Egret II Mini also supports HDMI out, which could be useful for those multiplayer sessions or with those special controllers! We could really only test to see if it was functional with the base model, which... hey, it is! And it's honestly a solid implementation. It handles plugging in a cable in the middle of play just fine, though you can also save your state if you need to relocate the thing for TV play. There are options to rotate the screen for full tate mode goodness, and there are even colorful themed bezels for each title.

Is there some weirdness along the way? Certainly. There's an option in the menu for stretching the screen but maintaining the aspect ratio, and it's called "wide." The wallpapers include rounded corners that obscure a bit of gameplay sometimes. And while it holds up well, the interface definitely seems designed for a small screen and feels a bit stretched and fuzzy on higher-definition displays. (Of course, so does the Switch.)

i like playing volfied, but it is quite tough

The 40-game Egret II Mini lineup is nearly evenly split between horizontal and vertical releases. It starts with 1978's Space Invaders, as you'd expect from a Taito device. It ends with a handful of Bubble Bobble and Puzzle Bobble releases from the mid-'90s. Obviously, a console built with vertical play in mind is a big draw for fans of shoot-'em-ups. You'll find a lot of them here! The other main category? Classic arcade action, with games like Volfied and Rainbow Islands. There are a few outliers, like soccer title Hat Trick Hero and the 1980 licensed Lupin The Third game, but mostly the selection sticks to core Taito experiences. You can check out the full list of games at ININ's site.

Two decades of releases lead to wildly different play experiences, of course, but the Egret hardware handles them all well. (We would suggest going into the menu and turning the filter setting to "on," though, which strangely turns the filter off. That'll mitigate some in-game delay issues, in addition to just looking a lot better.) The system's software feature list doesn't stop at filters and save states, though those are certainly nice. You can access each game's dip switch settings, customizing them to your taste or matching the nostalgia for your local arcade manager's particular whims.

The Western version of the cabinet, besides swapping button color from purple to blue, seems identical to the Japanese release. Games in our review unit still occasionally showed Japanese text, though most arcade games were at least half-English in that era anyway and playability wasn't an issue. The selection menu has multiple language options, and works well.

taito egret ii mini review

Its cost will price it out of a lot of players' range, but for those who want it? Taito's Egret II Mini executes on what it promises to do fairly well. The screen rotation works. The device feels sturdy and secure. It's a luxury item, for sure, but it could be a display centerpiece for dedicated Taito fans.

The Egret II Mini was developed and released by Taito, and distributed in the West by United Games Entertainment, ININ Games and Strictly Limited Games. It's available in different configurations through Gamesrocket and Strictly Limited's store.

Genshin Impact Version 2.6 Archon Quest Dainsleif

A new Archon Quest will appear in Genshin Impact Version 2.6. The developers shared information regarding this new Archon Quest during the Genshin Impact Version 2.6 Special Program presentation on the game's official Twitch channel. This included the focus characters for the quest.

Dainsleif will take center stage in this new Genshin Impact Archon Quest, which will focus on the mysteries surrounding the twins. Additionally, it will tie into The Chasm, which was also covered in the video. A brief glimpse into the narrative of this Archon Quest was shown during the trailer for the upcoming version update.

The Chasm will feature several different areas for players to explore. These areas were briefly shown through the Genshin Impact Version 2.6 trailer. Alongside the implementation of this new area, players will have access to a Domain.

Players can obtain unique rewards through completing The Chasm, one of which includes a new name plate. The Chasm will also feature several unique gameplay mechanics, which will have them upgrading an item to progress.

Previous Archon Quests have focused on characters like Ningguang and Shenhe. Those specific Archon Quests arrived through the Version 2.4 update.

Genshin Impact is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, and Android and iOS devices. It is in development for Nintendo Switch. The 2.6 update will launch on March 30, 2022.

Here are 2.6's 2 New Genshin Impact Artifact Sets

During the 2.6 Special Program, miHoYo revealed that two new Genshin Impact artifact sets will appear. In the Chasm area, people can visit the new Lost Valley domain. After completing its challenge, people can get pieces from the five-star sets Echoes of an Offering and Vermillion Hereafter.

The 2.6 Special Program revealed two and four-piece set bonuses for both of the Lost Valley Genshin Impact artifact sets. In the case of each one, you get an ATK+18% bonus if you equip two of them on a character at once. Once you get to the four-piece set, the additional effect varies.

Here's the official description for the Echoes of an Offering four-piece set bonus.

When Normal Attacks hit opponents, there is a 36% chance that it will trigger Valley Rite, which will increase Normal Attack DMG by 70% of ATK. This effect will be dispelled 0.05s after a Normal Attack deals DMG. If a Normal Attack fails to trigger Valley Rite, the odds of it triggering the next time will increase by 20%. This trigger can occur once every 0.2s.

As for Vermillion Hereafter, here's the official description for its four-piece set bonus.

After using an Elemental Burst, this character will gain the Nascent Light effect, increasing their ATK by 8% for 16s. When the character's HP decreases, their ATK will further increase by 10%. This increase can occur this way a maximum of 4 times. This effect can be triggered once every 0.8s. Nascent Light will be dispelled when the character leaves the field. If an Elemental Burst is used again during the duration of Nascent Light, the original Nascent Light will be dispelled.

Genshin Impact Artifact Sets 2.6

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch. The new artifacts will appear in Genshin Impact's Chasm domain in Liyue after 2.6 appears.

Genshin Impact 2.6 Release Date Announced

As expected from the Genshin Impact 2.6 Special Program, a release date for the update appeared. Though as usual, people keeping up with the banners probably had an idea of when it will show up. Zephyr of the Violet Garden will launch on March 30, 2022. As expected, it will bring Ayato to the game as a playable character. It will also mean the debut of the Chasm area in Liyue.

Genshin Impact 2.6 Will Include Ayato Banner, Ayaka and Venti Rerun Banners

As part of the 2.6 Special Program, the Genshin Impact Ayato banner and Ayaka and Venti rerun banners were confirmed. This means both Kamisato siblings will be featured. In addition, there will be a story quest for Ayato called Cypressus Custos Chapter: Act 1. Ayato and Venti will appear in the first phase, while Ayaka will appear in the second phase.

Ayato is the new five-star heading to Genshin Impact, and his banner will be the first in 2.6. Like his sister, he's a sword user. However, while she's a Cryo type unit, he is a Hydro character. He will be the first Hydro swordsman. (While Childe uses two swords for his Elemental skill, he is an archer.) Alongside him will appear a new five-star sword on the weapon banner. It is called Amenoma.

Ayato is voiced by Chris Hackney in English. He also played Dimitri in Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Athrun Zala in Gundam series, and Asura in Naruto Shippuden. He is voiced by Akira Ishida in Japanese. Ishida also voices Athrun Zala in Japanese and played Gaara in Naruto Shippuden.

Kamisato Art: Kyoka is his Elemental Skill and creates a watery illusion. It also can deal AOE damage to foes. His Elemental Burst is Kamisato Art: Suiyuu causes bloom water blades to fall in a field around him for a brief time, while also providing boosts to allies.

As for the returning characters, both Venti and Ayaka will be back. Venti is a five-star Anemo archer, and his banner first debuted when Genshin Impact launched back in September 2020. His first rerun appeared in March 2021.

As for Ayaka, this will be five-star Cryo swordswoman's first Genshin Impact rerun banner. She debuted in July 2021 when Inazuma launched. However, she was the second playable character from the region to appear in the game. Kazuha, the first, showed up in June 2021.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. It will also come to the Nintendo Switch. The Genshin Impact Ayato banner and Ayaka and Venti rerun banners are on the way.

The event will run from March 17, 2022 to March 29, 2022.

A total of three different banners will appear during the collaboration event. The main banner will feature eight new SSR costumes for various characters resembling those from Shinobi Master. SSR costume pull rarity is 3.3%. Players can also exchange 200 Trend Gacha coins to select an SSR costume of their choice.      Trek To Yomi Preview 1Flying Wild Hog is really putting out a lot this year. The developer already released the extremely short, yet mostly enjoyable Shadow Warrior 3, but it's also got Evil West and Trek to Yomi on the radar for release. I got to play the first hour or so of the latter game, which covers the initial couple of chapters. And I'm fairly impressed by the game's style and general presentation. Old-timey samurai adventures aren't necessarily too hard to find. But this is a fairly unique game with interesting mechanics that has me interested to see where the rest of the adventure leads when it arrives later this year. Trek to Yomi starts off as games like this often do: the protagonist, Hiroki, is a child training under his sensei, Sanjuro. The opening minutes focus on a tutorial teaching you the basics of the game's combat. But, naturally, bandits attack the town and Sanjuro has to run out and deal with the threat. After some prodding from Sanjuro's daughte...
