Rainbow Six Siege just got the first of three new maps

After years without a truly new location in Rainbow Six Siege, the game is getting three new maps for Year 7, and now Emerald Plains, the first of those maps, has arrived. Y7S1.2 just went live on all platforms, and a selection of bug fixes and operator balance changes. Also, Tachanka can no longer kill invincible hostages. A bit less lordly now, eh?

Emerald Plains is now available in ranked, unranked, quick match, team deathmatch, newcomer, and Lone Wolf PVE playlists. It's set in a lovely Irish country club, and features a combo of close quarters indoor fighting locations and outdoor areas with room for gunfights at greater range.

The Year 7 roadmap includes two more new maps, due to launch in Season 2 and Season 3, respectively. Prior to this year, the developers had been focused heavily on reworks to existing maps. Back in Year 5, (now former) game director Leroy Athanassoff told us that new maps would start coming to Siege again "when we reach a point when all the maps have been reworked, and they're interesting, and satisfying."

Assassin's Creed Valhalla update adds new mastery challenges

You may have explored several of the Nine Realms by now as Odin in the Dawn of Ragnarok expansion, but there's plenty left to do in Assassin's Creed Valhalla, thanks to the reliable stream of seasonal content Ubisoft has added to the open world Viking game. A new Valhalla title update has arrived with new challenges, a festival, and a huge slate of bug fixes.

First on the list is the new set of mastery challenges. Pack 2, added in Title Update 1.5.1, adds three new shrines that wrap up with a boss fight. Ubisoft says this battle "tests your abilities in each aspect of combat," so be prepared to mix it up with someone pretty beefy. You'll need to have reached power level 221 to access the challenges, but they include some tempting rewards - there's a new Valkyrie armour set, some new weapons, and some stuff to display back in your settlement.

Starting April 21, the Ostara Festival will offer more new activities, as well as new weapons to earn. The festival runs through May 12, and if it's anything like last year's, it will feature fun activities like egg hunts, decorating Ravensthorpe, and making a crown for the May queen.

The first Tiny Tina's Wonderlands' DLC arrives this week

The dust has only just settled from the launch of Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, but developer Gearbox Software has revealed that the first DLC for the co-op focused shooter game is coming out this week. Coiled Captors, the first piece of post-launch content in the Wonderlands season pass, arrives April 21.

The 'coiled captors' in the title are a nasty bunch of gun-slinging naga warriors, who you'll have to take on in order to free a captured Old God. The naga have this god trapped inside a monster called a seawarg, which they've imprisoned deep within a cold and frozen mountain.

Seawargs, it turns out, are creatures that look like sharks with big, beefy arms. To free the Old God, you'll need to battle the seawarg it's trapped inside, and this fight takes on four different forms that unlock as you play more of Coiled Captors. Each of these is increasingly difficult, making each subsequent trip through the story a steeper challenge. Fortunately, there are plenty of new weapons to pick up, and you'll be able to win some by spending Lost Souls at the Wheel of Fate you find with the fortune teller Vesper.

WoW Dragonflight beta sign-ups are live

If you want to get into the World of Warcraft: Dragonflight beta, you can already take the first step. Blizzard didn't announce a release date or pre-orders after today's expansion reveal, but the studio did put a new official site live with beta sign-ups, so if you want the earliest possible look at Dragonflight, you can get it.

Just head to the official site for Dragonflight, click the 'beta opt-in' button, and sign in to your Battle.net account. You'll simply get a 'thanks for signing up' messages after you do so - don't expect any additional details on when the beta will launch or what it will contain just yet.

Dragonflight is all about dragons, as the winged creatures have returned to the Dragon Isles, the primary setting of the new expansion. The new Dracthyr Evoker is a race and class all in one, using magical abilities to transform back and form between draconic and humanoid forms. There's also dragon riding, which lets you build a customisable drake mount and take to the skies with far more robust controls than previous flying mounts have allowed.

The cinematic Star Wars game EA cancelled is happening again

Years ago, EA cancelled a cinematic Star Wars game under the leadership of former Uncharted creative director Amy Hennig. Now, Amy Hennig is in charge of a new cinematic Star Wars game under Skydance New Media. The company previously announced a triple-A Marvel game in October 2021.

This will be a "richly cinematic action-adventure game featuring an original story in the legendary Star Wars galaxy," according to the press release. Douglas Reilly of Lucasfilm Games says that Skydance's "vision for making inviting, cinematic interactive entertainment makes this collaboration very exciting. We're working hard with their team of experienced and talented developers, and we're looking forward to sharing more with Star Wars fans when the time is right."

The Star Wars game Hennig was leading at EA was codenamed Ragtag, which would be a gritty heist story set in the galaxy far, far away. While fans speculated that EA's aversion to single-player games at the time led to the project's cancellation, insiders have reported a number of production problems at the studio that might have had a larger effect on the end of Ragtag.

WoW Wrath of the Lich King Classic release date set for 2022

The Wrath of the Lich King expansion is coming to World of Warcraft Classic this year, Blizzard has revealed. Wrath of the Lich King was the second expansion released for the MMORPG way back in 2008, and now it's coming to WoW Classic later in 2022.

Blizzard says the expansion will allow all players to create a death knight at level 55, and it will increase the level cap to 80. Players will also get a level boost to 70 that they can use on any character. Using dark magic to boost their strength, death knights are powerful melee fighters who can also wield frost, unholy, and blood magic. Wrath of the Lich King Classic also adds the Inscription profession, which allows players to manufacture enchantments, scrolls, and off-hand tomes.

Wrath of the Lich King is set in the land of Northrend, giving Classic players a chance to return to this frozen island, where the awakened Lich King rules. Blizzard says the Classic expansion will include the "iconic dungeons and raids" featured in the original, so you'll have the chance to experience this entire saga once again when it launches later this year.

Game Pass April games – Assassin's Creed Origins coming soon

Xbox today reveals the remaining Game Pass April games list, which includes one of the best survival games on PC and a quirky and previously PlayStation-exclusive puzzle game. More surprisingly, Microsoft also confirms that one of the best Assassin's Creed games is coming "in the next two months".

The first half of April brought with it some excellent additions to Game Pass on PC, including Life is Strange: True Colours and Panzer Corps 2. Now the games for the second half of April are revealed, and there are a few neat titles on there - including the previously-announced Bugsnax and zombie game 7 Days to Die.

However, the biggest surprise is the announcement of more Ubisoft games coming to Game Pass. Sometime in the next two months, the service will add both Assassin's Creed Origins and For Honor: Marching Fire Edition. You'll need to play both through the Ubisoft Connect app, in much the same way subscribers have to use a separate client to play EA games - but still, a good deal.

WoW Dragonflight's Dracthyr Evoker is both a race and class

The World of Warcraft: Dragonflight expansion has been revealed with a brand new class and race, and they're one and the same - the Dracthyr Evoker. Blizzard officially lifted the veil on the new expansion in today's reveal stream. The devs are billing this as a return to high fantasy, and it'll feature the return of dragons to the realm of Azeroth.

Dragonflight will be set in the Dragon Isles, made up of five zones, four standard leveling zones, and one new starter zone. That zone is built for a new draconic race, the Dracthyr, which also serves as a new class, known as the Evoker. The race and class are directly tied to each other. A preview of the class is available on the official site.

There will be a large emphasis on revamps and reworks to existing game mechanics, like the talent system - the devs intend to spend more time improving features across the game rather than building all-new features that'll get left behind after this expansion cycle. A big UI revamp is on the way, as well. And yes, you can ride dragons, with a new flight system that offers more movement options than traditional flying mounts.

Crusader Kings 3 Fate of Iberia DLC set for May release date

Medieval Spain takes centre stage in the next add-on pack for Crusader Kings III. The feudal grand strategy game's next piece of DLC is called Fate of Iberia, and Paradox has revealed that its release date is set for May 31.

Seasoned Crusader Kings players will know that the Iberian peninsula is one of medieval Europe's most dynamic regions, with internal dynastic squabbles and massive cultural upheavals coming fast and furious over the course of a couple centuries. Fate of Iberia focuses on these, adding a new Struggle system, as well as a heap of new events, decisions, clothing and headgear for the cultures of the region.

Crusader Kings III covers the period of the Reconquista, which historically saw predominantly Christian states wage wars against the Muslim rulers who had claimed most of the Iberian peninsula in the 8th century. In Fate of Iberia, you'll have the option to either attempt to unify the realm under one faith, or broker a peace by dividing the land between the warring creeds.

Fans make Minecraft build of Carl & Ellie's house from Up

A Pixar fan has created a lovely Minecraft build of Carl and Ellie's house from Up. It's fan-made creations like this that make Minecraft the ultimate sandbox game. Whether you're looking to play it as a hardcore survival game, a horror game, or just mess around and see what cool things you can build, it's all possible in Minecraft. It's the freedom to build that makes the community so wonderful because there's just so much to see online.

Today we're bringing you a build from Gamer's Guild of Carl and Ellie's house from the film Up. We won't spoil the Pixar flick for those who haven't seen it, though be warned that the film has one of the most objectively heart-breaking opening sequences of all time. Thankfully, though, the main attraction of the build is the house that can fly due to an obscene amount of balloons, which makes it much nicer to check out.

It's all done in creative mode, of course, because building something like this in survival would take ages. It's a great video to have in the background thanks to its chilled nature, and the full reveal near the end of the video is beautiful.

Prowler quests hint at a Fortnite Miles Morales skin

It seems like a line of text in the new Prowler skin challenges hints at a Fortnite Miles Morales skin possibly coming to Epic's battle royale game, which - if it happens - will be the game's third Spider-Man skin since Chapter 3 began last year.

Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 2 has already gone heavy on the Marvel collaboration, as along with Doctor Strange in the season pass there is also Spider-Man villain Prowler - who players can earn starting with the release of update 20.20 today by completing his various in-game quests.

However, players have spotted that some of those challenges contain quotes from Prowler from other sources. The most important quest, the one that unlocks Prowler himself, is accompanied by the quote, "you're on your way, just keep going". This is an important line from the animated movie Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse - which marked the first appearance of Miles Morales in a film - as it's the last line spoken by Prowler to his nephew Miles.

Intel Arc Alchemist GPUs might not show up until late Summer

Intel Arc Alchemist laptop GPUs have arrived (sort of), but the blue team's best graphics card contender has apparently been delayed. According to reliable leaker Enthusiastic Citizen, the company's gaming PC solution might not arrive until early Q3, placing doubt on its initial early Summer 2022 release date.

Spotted by Wccftech, the latest Intel Arc Alchemist leak isn't all bad news, as it also reveals a bunch of potential specs. Enthusiastic Citizen's rumour relay pairs the A770, A750, A580, and A380 with performance guesstimates, all while suggesting what the top-end GPU's limited edition status might actually mean.

The leaker says that the A770 may be comparable to an Nvidia GeForce RTX RTX 3060 Ti, but suggests the limited release card could feature enhanced specs. In terms of memory, the non-limited model seemingly packs either 8GB or 10GB, which could mean it'll wield less VRAM than the mobile variant. That said, specs for the A770M could still change, especially if it's delayed alongside its desktop counterparts.

'Local' means local to Bath, where you'd be expected to come in to our recently and swankily refurbished office at least two times per week. If you'd rather work remotely, you can be based anywhere in the country, with occasional visits once per month - don't worry, we pay for the trip and expenses if you have to travel in.

You'll be able to write confidently and authoritatively on games across all genres, producing clean, thorough copy promptly enough to compete in today's fast-paced online media environment. You should understand SEO, and understand PC gaming and its communities well enough to identify trends and promising guide leads among the latest games. You'll also need to keep track of the latest updates and in-game events so our evergreen content remains current.

Dishonored x Divinity: Original Sin 2 in this new sandbox RPG

There's a new stealth game out now on Steam that's basically a Thief: The Dark Project RPG game, or Dishonored meets Divinity: Original Sin 2. Winter Ember is the first game from developer Sky Machine Studios, and it's an isometric RPG where stealth is the focus rather than combat.

Winter Ember is now available on Steam and is described as "immersive stealth action" and a sandbox game where players are tasked with sneaking around the world and getting revenge on the people that wronged them. The closest recent comparison is probably Weird West, which is from a few of the creators of Dishonored.

With the Victorian aesthetic, Winter Ember is clearly influenced by Arkane's classic immersive sim, with a viewpoint and ability to manipulate the environment that calls to mind Larian's Divinity: Original Sin games. However, the closest comparison is probably the Thief series - what with the stealth focus, character in a black hoodie sneaking around rooftops, and a protagonist who really sounds like Stephen Russell (who admittedly also played Corvo in Dishonored 2).

WoW expansion announcement time – watch the reveal here soon

Blizzard has confirmed the WoW expansion announcement time, so we now know exactly when to tune in in order to see the reveal of the next big addition to World of Warcraft. The devs haven't officially revealed much, but as previously confirmed, April 19 will serve as the date for all the initial details on the MMO's next expansion.

The WoW expansion reveal time is set for today (Tuesday, April 19) at 9am PDT / 12pm EDT / 5pm BST. You'll be able to watch it on both YouTube and Twitch. As Blizzard says in the official announcement, "with the story in the Shadowlands coming to a conclusion, the time is at hand to get a sneak peek at what's next for the heroes of Azeroth."

While there are no official details on the expansion yet, the title - World of Warcraft: Dragonflight - appears to have leaked via a recent update to Blizzard's own website. The update also noted Base, Heroic, and Epic pre-order options, so it's a pretty safe bet that pre-orders will be available immediately following the reveal, meaning that a release date is likely, too.

Gal Gun Double Peace Sticks to Its Guns on the Switch

Gal Gun is one of those niche Japanese series with a small, particular, fanservice-loving audience. An average high school male suddenly finds himself the object of all the girls' attention when an angel of the Cupid variety stumbles into his life. Now, seven years after its debut, Gal Gun Double Peace joins its predecessor on the Nintendo Switch.

Gal Gun Double Peace introduces a new lovelorn character, his guardian angel, and a plethora of googly eyed classmates and teachers all vying for his love. Houdai Kudoki's day starts off on the wrong foot when his estranged friend Shinobu approaches him to let him know her sister Maya is back in town. He's shocked to see Maya, and confused as to why Shinobu hasn't spoken to him in years. Throw in angel Ekoro overcharging her Pheromone Shot and a demon in training wreaking havoc on campus. With all this chaos, it's up to us to steer Houdai into true love's path before he loses his chance forever.

Gal Gun Double Peace Switch

Even though the original release of Gal Gun Double Peace was ages ago, this Switch port holds up pretty well. Rails shooters aren't generally my thing. A lot of the time, they move a little too quickly and motion blur hurts my eyes. I was surprised at how fluid the camera movement was. Whether Houdai is crawling or climbing to avoid admirers or moving through the halls of Sakurachi Academy, a blurry screen was never encountered. Even when I was surrounded and had to manually change camera direction!

Getting Houdai's aim down pat could be a bit of a challenge. If you want a little more of a challenge, the camera speed can be adjusted in the options menu. I've found the the mid-range levels to work best for my style of play. Since I'm not focused on wooing any of Houdai's newly acquired stalkers, I haven't been too particular about exploiting their weak spots. If I hit them, great. My aim was to blast my way through each level, earn angel feathers, and pick answers I think may convince Shinobu (my pick) to be my girlfriend.

Gal Gun Double Peace tiny demons Switch

There's another plus for utilizing a slower reticle. Most scenarios contain hidden items. Some of these are easy to spot, such as student files. Turning down the reticle speed means fewer fleeting glances as I swing around the screen, blocking my attackers. This includes the mini-demons infecting the girls with dark aura. And they are sneaky. You really need to investigate the young women with these auras sometimes to spot the demons. Getting them away from the girls not only cleanses them, but makes it so you can leave them weak in the knees.

It's not reinventing the wheel, features a mediocre story, and I'm not keen on the touchscreen elements. But if you are itching for an on-rails shooter experience, Gal Gun Double Peace on the Switch could be a good fit for your library.

Gal Gun Double Peace is available now on the Nintendo Switch, as well as PC, PlayStation 4, and PS Vita.

Tales of Luminaria Gets Waist Equipment Slot for Attachments

There's a new Tales of Luminaria update, and this one offers a new Attachments equipment slot. When you go to get your character set up, you'll now find they can wear items around their waist. This appears alongside a new Character Look feature that lets someone change a character's pose in that status screen.

First, the Tales of Luminaria means there are now four Attachments slots when you change equipment. The one for the waist is at the very bottom of the line. It has the shadow of a pair of pants on it. Bandai Namco noted to celebrate the occasion, everyone gets a free Ecru Tail.

Next is the Character Look update. That lets you essentially change their poses to make it look like they are performing Artes. This can be done both when the UI is hidden or showing. When you're on the Character Screen, you can select Look and then choose the arrows at the bottom of the screen to see different possible poses. You can then tap the pose to see someone perform it. This lets you get better looks at people from different angles. Someone could also use this to get screenshots.

Tales of Luminaria is available for Android and Apple iOS devices, and its 1.5.0 update is out now. Past updates did things like add Japanese voice acting and a Nightmare multiplayer boss difficulty.

New Monster Hunter Rise Small Monsters Include the Boggi and Gowngoat

Capcom's regularly been sharing new details about the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak expansion. The latest insight involves some of the creatures you'll see. But these aren't big, intimidating ones. Rather, the new Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak video focuses on two new small monsters called the Boggi and Gowngoat.

First, the Boggi seems like a Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak wyvern along the lines of a Baggi or Jaggi. It is described as "mischievous." In the in-game footage, we see a few show up in a pack and willingly attack a hunter.

As for the Gowngoat, it looks like a herbivore like Monster Hunter's Moofah or Popo. Its portions of the video show the slow moving creature eating and sleeping. When it does sleep, it curls up with its tail around its body.

Here's the full Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak teaser.

Past videos focused on a number of other topics. For example, Capcom showed off different kinds of Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak armor sets. It also showed off players' rooms.

Monster Hunter Rise is available for the Nintendo Switch and PC, and the Sunbreak expansion will arrive on June 30, 2022.

A Famous FFXIV NPC is Really in the Azure Elephant Suit

As part of the 6.1 update, the new FFXIV Ishgard Empyreum housing district has an Azure Elephant mascot. People paying attention in-game might know who the character might be. Especially since the person still has their trademark sword. However, if someone uses mods they can remove the Gaja Head and find that person is actually inside the outfit. Zimpo/Ren did that and shared proof the person is inside the Gaja Suit. [Thanks, Zimpo/Ren and Audrey!]

Editor's Note: There are spoilers regarding the FFXIV Azure Elephant's identity below.

So here's how this all started. Aymeric asked Estinian to come work in Ishgard's Empyreum district. Estinian then references Thavnair's Devout Pilgrims vs. Daivadipa FATE. Someone can get Daivadipa's Beads from it and trade them for a Gaja Head and Gaja Suit. Estinian said he was considering getting one for Aymeric to wear when he acts as a guardsman there.

Well, Estinian not only did so, but used dye to turn Aymeric into the Azure Elephant. (These items are actually dyeable, though the default versions are grey.) While the game does imply it is Aymeric and shows his sword Naegling on the model, it turns out the team went a step further. Zimpo/Ren used a mod to remove the Gaja Head from the NPC to reveal Aymeric's character model is actually inside the suit.

This isn't always the case in FFXIV. For example, Ashe pointed out that a generic Elezen model is in the suit "Gaius" is wearing for Hatching-tide.

If you haven't seen the Azure Elephant in FFXIV yet, he's pretty easy to find. He's wandering around the Empyreum. There is also a group of NPCs around dedicated to "finding" Aymeric in costume. They are often saying things like, "The rumors were true!" They might also say, "Look, look! It's the Azure Elephant!" The Azure Elephant, guardian of Empyreum!"

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. If people visit the Ishgard Empyreum housing district after the 6.1 update, they can see FFXIV's Azure Elephant.

Honkai Impact 3rd Aponia Elysian Ream Fight Detailed

MiHoYo's been talking a lot about Fire Moth 13 Flame-Chasers characters lately. For example, it revealed a full list of all members. Not to mention Pardofelis became playable in 5.6. Now people can learn what will happen when they face the Flame-Chaser Aponia in Honkai Impact 3rd's Elysian Realm.

Editor's Note: There will be spoilers for Aponia and her Elysian Realm encounter in Honkai Impact 3rd below.

First, Aponia is a MANTIS and the third in command of the 13 Flame-Chasers. She's known as Discipline and has a butterfly motif. Which is fitting, because to get her you need to go through Discipline, a Predestined Death. If you do, then go through Sequence: Dangerous in Shallow Sequence or Deep Sequence, She'll be on the 17th floor of the Elysian Realm.

Like Kalpas, Aponia has two forms in Honkai Impact 3rd. Her attacks change depending on which form she's taken. So when you start a fight, she'll be in her normal form and use use her butterflies for targeted and AOE attacks. The one named in the update is Mind Your Manners, Please. That is a four-hit combo that holds you. As for the AOE attack, it involves the Remorse status effect. That changes your skill buttons' inputs temporarily.

When Aponia changes her form in Honkai Impact 3rd, she gets wings and four more arms. There are three skills to watch out for during this phase. If she uses Inevitable Fate, she will dash to where you are and attack. This can paralyze. Judge Your Crimes places "Sin" illusions on the field. While in place, Sins inflict Remorse. Finally, Purge Your Demons is another sort of AOE attack. Multiple lightning strikes appear on the field. However, there will be red circles showing the places where they will hit, so players can plan accordingly.

Honkai Impact 3rd is available for PCs and mobile devices.

Blue Destiny Unit 1 in Mobile Suit Gundam Bonds of the Battlefield II

Mobile Suit Gundam: Bonds of the Battlefield II will get two new mechs from The Blue Destiny side story. Players of the arcade game will be able to add the Blue Destiny Unit 1 and Efreet Custom into their in-game collection while customizing the colors. Bandai Namco will add both units as playable Mobile Suits on April 29, 2022.

Mobile Suit Gundam Side Story: The Blue Destiny originated as a trilogy of shooting games released on Sega Saturn between 1996 and 1997 in Japan. Bandai Namco added The Blue Destiny's storyline into the 2014 PS3 compilation Mobile Suit Gundam Side Stories and multiple SD Gundam G Generation games that feature the Universal Century timeline. Units and pilots from the title also appear in other Gundam crossover games, such as the Extreme Vs. series.

Bonds of the Battlefield II launched in July 2021 with 22 Mobile Suits. Bandai Namco has since gradually added more playable mechs in pairs, including those from Universal Century side stories and games. In September 2021, Gundam Ez8 and Gouf Custom from The 08th MS Team OVA joined the roster. In late March 2022, the company added Gundam Pixy and the original Efreet from the 1995 SNES game Cross Dimension 0079. The arcade game will have 32 playable Mobile Suits in total after Blue Destiny Unit 1 and Efreet Custom join the roster in late April 2022.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Bonds of the Battlefield II is available on arcades in Japan.

El Shaddai Switch

It seems that Sawaki Takeyasu wasn't kidding in those tweets from 2021 seeking recruits to help port El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron to Nintendo's platform. An El Shaddai Switch port is indeed coming. The announcement came courtesy of an upload to Michael's Hand, the official channel of Sawaki's studio Crim, Inc.

Check out the full video below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnDzHlMgcXo

The El Shaddai Switch port announcement itself comes closer to the end of the brief production. As development is ongoing, no gameplay footage was available, though Takeyasu promised more information on April 28, 2022. That day is the 11th Anniversary of El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron's first release on PS3 and Xbox 360 in Japan. Though initially met with lukewarm reception, the game went on to become a cult favorite of sorts, receiving a PC port in September 2021.

Other El Shaddai announcements besides the Switch port were on hand in the broadcast. The 9th volume of the El Shaddai light novel series goes on sale on April 28, 2022. The light novel series tells the backstory of the world of El Shaddai. According to Takeyasu, there's enough backmatter in El Shaddai's setting that the game itself (Ascension of the Metatron) is essentially just the fourth chapter of the overall story.

El Shaddai: Ascension of the Metatron is in development for the Nintendo Switch, with no release window set. The game is available on PS3 and Xbox 360, as well as PC via Steam.

FFXIV Housing Lottery Issues Found, People Can Safely Buy Plots

Over the weekend, Square Enix addressed the FFXIV housing lottery issue that kept some folks from getting new plots due to errors. Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida confirmed he's involved working on a solution and explained what was going on. Now the latest updates explained why things happened how they did, confirmed people who didn't get an error can safely buy plots, and noted folks who are experiencing issues won't need to re-enter a lottery.

First, Square Enix urged people who did win a FFXIV housing lottery plot to buy it. This is to ensure they get their house, for one. If you don't claim it when the lottery's second phase ends, you don't get the land. Second, it said it should be done because any fix the team sends out won't undo the results. The company promised "no adverse effect from the lottery data restoration."

Yoshida then explained exactly what went wrong and the team's plan. He blamed processing and server-side issues for the FFXIV housing lottery plot bugs. In situations where the winner was "0," Yoshida explained what happened.

After investigating this issue, we discovered that, while the server responsible for conducting the lottery is functioning as intended, the results are not being properly relayed to the servers responsible for managing housing-related data.

Once this issue has been resolved, and lottery results can be relayed to the housing data servers without issue, it will be possible to confirm the lottery winners. Furthermore, players who registered for the lottery at the affected plots will not be required to register a second time. We ask for your patience as we work to recover data containing the results for these plots.

The means by which gil may be collected from those who have already received a gil refund prior to learning that they have won the lottery is under consideration. Details of this process will be announced at a later date.

Yoshida also explained the next course of action. The team is currently using development servers to reproduce the FFXIV housing lottery plot problem. Then, it will create a fix and make sure it works. After verifying, it will restore the data, conduct maintenance, and hopefully get people who won the plots experiencing errors their new homes.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PS4, PS5, and PC. Square Enix didn't announce when the next housing lottery will start. This first one's end was postponed due to the ongoing issue. However, the company did recently shared the list of all items added in patch 6.1.

World Of Warcraft Dragonflight Expansion Reveal BetaBlizzard went for a one-two punch with World of Warcraft announcements today. Other than confirming the existence of Wrath of the Lich King Classic, World of Warcraft is getting bigger with its next expansion, Dragonflight. As you can already surmise, the expansion's main draw is that you can now fly dragons as mounts. But that's not all, friends. You can also play as a dragon, kind of, with the introduction of the Dracthyr playable race. The Dragonflight expansion doesn't have a solid release date yet, but a beta is on the way. Playing as a Dracthyr will likely be what brings players back after their disappointment with Shadowlands. The scaly dragonfolk can be played in two forms. One is your basic humanoid, complete with colored forehead scales and curved horns. The other, however, is more draconic, covered in scales and claws with dragon-like facial features and even wings. There's also a Dracthyr Evoker hero class, which starts at level 58, and is able to al...

Minecraft movie Jason Momoa actorMinecraft remains one of the most popular games in existence, so it should come as no surprise that Warner Bros. wants to make a movie adaptation based on the IP.  Much like the casting of Idris Elba as Knuckles, this new Minecraft movie plans to bring some unexpected talent on board. That talent comes in the form of Jason Momoa, the actor who starred in films like Aquaman and will also star in the Minecraft movie. The company has little reason not to cast the former Aquaman, especially since the recent Sonic the Hedgehog 2 film proved movie adaptations of games can both perform well at the box office and earn a positive reception from fans.   Popular IPs need popular faces According to The Hollywood Reporter, Momoa has entered "the final negotiations" for his starring role. In regards to the film's other credits, Jared Hess, who worked on the cult classic Napoleon Dynamite, will serve as the movie's director, with Mary Parent and Roy Lee of Dune f...

AMD RDNA 3 releaseIt sounds like AMD's RDNA 3 graphics card lineup plus release dates could be revealed near the same time as Nvidia's rumored RTX 4000 Series reveal in September. The information comes from hardware leaker Greymon55, who says that "the next generation of new products are basically concentrated in September." If this does end up being the case, it could certainly be an interesting end to Q3. AMD's new lineup of Radeon GPUs will be built with the RDNA 3 microarchitecture. Alongside its upcoming Zen 4 CPUs, AMD may have some seriously powerful hardware up its sleeves. We aren't sure what to expect from RDNA 3 just yet, aside from an early leak about high-end models and a more recent leak that went into specifics of the GPU design for the mainstream Navi 33 chip. The more recent leak indicates that the performance of the RX 7700 XT could be comparable to that of the RX 6900 XT. Judging from this, AMD may finally be able to shake up its place in the GPU ma...

AMD RDNA 2 Radeon RX 6X50 series refresh graphics cards releaseOne thing gamers always want is more performance. So it comes as no surprise to learn AMD may have one last trick up its sleeve for the current generation of Radeon cards. According to recent rumors from WCCFTech and a leak from VideoCardz regarding the 6550 XT, the AMD Radeon 6X50 Series refresh may outright replace the existing lineup. We know some basic info from previous leaks, and it appears the refresh will be mild in terms of revisions, and the only replacements coming are the 6650 XT, 6750 XT, and 6950 XT models. The main alleged upgrade to note is faster GDDR6 memory, but it's also likely we'll see faster GPU clock speeds for all models, something that's noted in the 6650 XT leak.   Based on the leaked info for the Powercolor 6550 XT Hellhound, the refreshed model will feature about a 4.4% game clock boost and 3.7% boost clock increase along with VRAM that's about 9.5% faster. This should result in an overall performance increase of about 3-5% base...
