Last year, Dr. Dre headlined GTA Online's most recent update, The Contract. However, it took some convincing to actually get him to appear digitally in-game. According to a new interview, he initially declined because he didn't really know much about GTA and thought it was "for kids."

     Satisfactory enters a

First-person factory management game Satisfactory is about to get Update 6, which marks a pretty milestone in the path to the 1.0 release date. The devs say that big content updates are set to slow down from here, as the game enters a "new phase of production" getting it closer to that final, complete launch.

"Satisfactory is coming closer to exit Early Access," the devs say in a press release. "It is entering into a new phase of production where the big content updates we have seen in the past will taper down while the studio focuses entirely on finalising the game for a 1.0 release. The coming updates will shift to have a stronger focus on specific sections of the game."

But first, we're getting Update 6, which is focused on exploration. We'll see overhauls to the Spire Coast and Swamp, new and old creatures with better visuals and improved behaviours, plus a host of new tools to deal with threats and obstacles while exploring the wilderness. You can also expect an array of improvements to the map UI and an overhaul for the Radar Tower.

NLRB finds against Activision in Warzone union hearing

The National Labor Relations Board has declared that a group of 21 QA workers at Raven Software, the Activision Blizzard subsidiary now best-known for its work on Call of Duty: Warzone, is eligible for a union vote. Activision argued that any such vote would have to encompass all of the studio's employees, who number over 200, while union proponents said that would've diluted the vote.

The NLRB will now mail union ballots to eligible employees, as The Washington Post reports, which will include both full-time and part-time QA workers currently employed by Raven. The votes will be counted during a video conference on May 23.

An Activision Blizzard representative tells the Post that the company is reviewing legal options, including an appeal of the decision. "While we respect the NLRB process," the rep says, "we are disappointed that a decision that could significantly impact the future of our entire studio will be made by fewer than 10 percent of our employees. We believe a direct relationship with team members is the best path to achieving individual and company goals."

Indie devs talk making your game idea a reality

W.A.S.D has come and gone, but even if you couldn't join us in person this year, don't worry - you can still enjoy our panels from the event through the magic of YouTube. We've been uploading talks from the event for free, online viewing throughout the week, and today we've got one for the aspiring game devs among you.

If you're here reading an article on a gaming website, you've probably had an idea for a game of your own. Maybe it's even a great one. So what can you do to make that game a reality? 'You've got a great game idea; what next?' aims to answer exactly that question, as PCGamesN editor (and our fearless leader) Richard Scott-Jones chats with a panel of industry experts on the topic.

Those experts are Andres Martin, programmer at indie studio Auroch Digital, Taylor Campbell, CTO of developer Orthors, and Tom Bradstreet, community manager at Into Games, a non-profit group that aims to help people build their careers in the games industry.

Victoria 3's Civil War can begin with the North seceding

The American Civil War ran from 1861-1865, putting it squarely inside upcoming grand strategy game Victoria 3's timeframe. This time around, Paradox Interactive is addressing the pivotal conflict head on, with some thoughtful new mechanics and events that deal with the history of the Civil War as it happened, while letting players decide how they want to handle affairs.

The latest Victoria 3 dev diary lays it all out rather elegantly. Because of the attention that's been paid to systems like interest groups and economics, it seems Victoria 3 will be able to simulate the circumstances leading up to the Civil War without bending the already existing rules. The issue begins with slavery, which Paradox has already discussed in an earlier diary. Slave labour benefits specific pops in your nation, like Aristocrats, and these folks will be interested in seeing it persist.

However, if you begin a game as the United States, you'll have a journal entry for the Slavery Debate active from the start. This will track your progress in managing the conflict between pro-slavery groups and the growing abolitionist movement in the country.

Co-op Minecraft speedrun drops the record under two minutes

Minecraft speedrunning is a world full of rules and chaos, whether you're going for solo or co-op records. The general gist is to try dig through the sandbox game as fast as possible, all while adhering to the rules of whichever category you're going for. There are a bunch of different ones, but all of them have you embodying the Sonic the Hedgehog spirit: gotta go fast.

YouTuber M8use and a team of other players all got together to conquer the game in under two minutes without glitches, and the whole thing is up in a video now. The video is over seven minutes long, but the first five minutes serve as an explanation for the run itself, which begins at 5:10. As M8use explains, this run is built for one specific Minecraft seed on the Bedrock edition of the game.

The video shows the viewpoints of four of the five players in splitscreen. Each of them has a different role to fulfil, and it's a hectic thing to watch. If you want the full experience, it's probably worth picking one side and just watching that one. Watching Minecraft being completed in under two minutes, no matter how many people are involved, is incredibly strange to watch.

The current sweet spot for gaming monitors is simple: 27 inches, 2560 by 1440 resolution, 165Hz refresh rate and FreeSync and G-Sync compatibility. That gives you a sharp image, good fluidity for fast-paced games and the technologies to smooth out uneven frame-rates with little input lag - and all at a reasonable price. These sort of monitors normally cost around $300, but today retailer Antonline is selling the well-reviewed Lenovo G27Q for just $200 - after a mega $150 reduction.

I think it's the best monitor deal I've seen for months, so let me tell you more about it.

Corsair's ML (magnetic levitation) fans are a popular choice for system builders, thanks to their high RPM range, good cooling performance and better durability than traditional designs. The latest edition is the RGB Elite, which offers improved acoustics over its predecessors, and it's this one that's been discounted at Amazon UK today. A triple pack with an iCUE Lighting Node Core normally costs £85, but today that price has dropped to £60 - a 29% percent reduction. I reckon this is a great shout if you're planning a new build or upgrading basic case fans, and in fact I've even placed an order for my own PC.

Chained Echoes trailer release battleNowadays, fans of turn-based RPGs have plenty of options to choose from, but Chained Echoes may still pique their interest. Funded via Kickstarter back in 2019, Chained Echoes represents the vision of Matthias Linda, a developer who has chosen to craft the game mostly by himself. Eddie Marianukroh, the game's composer, and publisher Deck13 serve as the only other contributors to the project. Considering the sheer scale of this estimated 40 to 50-hour title, that represents quite the accomplishment. If you wish to check Chained Echoes out for yourself, feel free to take a look at the recently-dropped trailer, which teases a release window of Q4 2022. According to the Steam page, Chained Echoes functions as a "16-bit SNES style RPG" that takes place in a world filled with both classic fantasy dragons and modern pilotable mechs. Players take control of a band of heroes that travel around and encounter the usual JRPG trappings, including a colorful cast of characte...
