     Apex Legends new guns

The CAR SMG is among the best Apex Legends guns, and one of the FPS game's developers has spoken about the team's intent that Apex Legends new guns "should be fun" in response to a claim that the weapon is overpowered. Respawn's live balance designer John 'JayBiebs' Larson replied to a comment about the CAR's strength with a lengthy post explaining some of the design decisions that go into bringing new weapons to the battle royale game.

In a Reddit thread discussing the CAR SMG, which is the newest Apex Legends weapon and was added in season 11, user Sairizard says they feel the gun is an example of power creep and claim that "Respawn are definitely not playing their own game." In response, Larson jokes, "1v1 me bro," before going into detail about the Respawn team's approach to new weapon balance.

Larson begins by saying that "it makes sense to lean towards the strong side" when tuning new gear for release, explaining that the "hype new thing should be fun, and if it's fun to use, players get more reps in with it sooner," which makes assessing what makes a particular gun fun, strong, or frustrating for players much easier for Respawn's balance team. "Would rather release strong and nerf than release weak and buff," he adds.

Most of Sony's State of Play games are coming to PC

If you're a PC gamer who watched the announcements at Sony's State of Play games showcase and were excited by the offerings, you're in luck - outside of the PSVR offerings, almost everything shown including the formerly Sony PlayStation exclusive series Spider-Man is coming to PC. We also have a Resident Evil 4 remake release date, some Street Fighter 6 gameplay, and a Final Fantasy 16 release window announcement and flashy new trailer.

Sci-fi horror game The Callisto Protocol, from the original creators of Dead Space, got a brand new trailer and is set to release on December 2. Roller skating arena bloodsport game Rollerdrome, announced for an August 16 release, already has its own Steam page - as does 'dating action' anime game Eternights, which features a Persona-style calendar system that tasks you with deciding if you should spend your Fridays dating or dungeon crawling.

We also got a Stray release date - the Cyberpunk cat adventure game was previously announced for PC, but we now know we'll be wandering around rain-slicked city streets and hiding in cardboard boxes as a kitty on July 19, courtesy of the Stray gameplay trailer. Atmospheric cycling road trip adventure Season: A Letter to the Future is also on Steam, with an autumn release window.

The best Diablo Immortal Necromancer build for PvP and PvE

If you're wondering what the best Necromancer build in Diablo Immortal is, it's little wonder. It seems like a self-explanatory class on the surface – dark mage summons dead people for battle – but Diablo Immortal's Necromancer class has a surprising amount of flexibility in how you send your foes into the great beyond. Despite being burdened with low mobility, the Necromancer excels in PvE and PvP combat.

The Necromancer's skills cover a broad range of areas, including distance attacks and support skills. There's a good deal of flexibility in how you approach these skills too. You could opt for a support Necromancer, for example, or a master of summons who destroys all in their path. If you're playing with a Clan, make sure to consider how your build may complement your party members as well.

This guide covers the best skills for your Necromancer and what kind of combat style to focus on for both PvE and PvP modes. We'll also cover which gems you should prioritize to boost those skills and get the most from one of Diablo Immortal's most unique classes.

Diablo leveling gude – how to gain levels in Diablo Immortal

What's the secret to Diablo Immortal leveling? Obviously, the name of the game is to soak up as much experience as quickly as you can in order to unlock more skills to do more damage and gain even more XP. But since Diablo Immortal is structured as a mobile game, there are some additional sources of experience you'll want to look out for regularly, especially as you make your first steps in the RPG game.

At its core, Diablo Immortal is similar to its predecessors in the way you develop your characters: killing monsters gives you experience, gold, and loot, and you'll use this to advance in levels and gain additional power.

Leveling up itself is a cinch: you'll gain a boost in power through some background stat gains automatically. The only thing you'll have to manage when you gain a level is your Diablo Immortal skills loadout. As you progress through the initial experience levels, you'll unlock new skills for your Diablo Immortal class, and these skills will in turn gain upgrades every few levels after that.

Final Fantasy 16 release window announced, here's a new trailer

The Final Fantasy 16 release date has narrowed to summer 2023, according to PlayStation's most recent State of Play livestream. We also got to see an exciting new trailer for the RPG game, and it's clear that developer Square Enix is going big on duels between the series' famous summoned monsters.

The trailer, which you can view below, shows some of Final Fantasy's most enduring pocket monsters - called 'Eikons', this time round - facing each other in both cinematic sequences and new gameplay. In the latter, they sport health bars and the camera angle flits between side-on and dramatic third-person perspectives. At times it looks like something between a fighting game and a hack-'n'-slash action RPG, but with enormous, dramatic monsters. Ramuh, Ifrit, Phoenix, Shiva, Garuda, Odin, and Titan are all confirmed so far.

Scurrying around beneath the stomping boots of all these giants are the humans of the story, who get much less airtime by comparison, but it's clear there's going to be a "child of fate" and at least one callous emperor who cares nothing for collateral damage.

Sword Art Online Arcade: Deep Explorer final update

Bandai Namco announced that it will release the final update for Sword Art Online Arcade: Deep Explorer on June 7, 2022. The company also announced that the game's Japanese Twitter account will no longer post regular tweets after June 21, 2022. However, the arcade game itself will still be available to play for the foreseeable future.

The new update will add the All-Star Season Match and Infinity EX Tower as new permanent game modes. It will also re-arrange the character collection list to show blank spots for characters that players can still obtain in the game's gacha pool.

After the final update, Deep Explorer will no longer have time-limited gacha, shop, and events. However, players will still be able to access the permanent story episodes and towers. The regular gacha pool will also allow players to collect characters in the game's roster.

Bandai Namco launched Sword Art Online Arcade: Deep Explorer in March 2019. The franchise's first-ever arcade game has a Diablo-like dungeon crawler gameplay system with a 3-player co-op. Before this final update, the company used to hold time-limited gacha and events that often featured exclusive versions of series characters, such as Kirito, Asuna, and Sinon.

Sword Art Online Arcade: Deep Explorer is available on arcades in Japan.

Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War will have a vinyl soundtrack in September 2022

A vinyl soundtrack of Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War will appear in late September 2022. Bandai Namco is working with Universal Music Japan to release a double vinyl set containing tracks from the 2006 PlayStation 2 game. The webpage detailing the soundtrack on the Japanese website also has an English segment.

The package will contain two 12-inch black vinyl records and an 8-page full-color booklet. The latter will include commentaries from the game's composers in Japanese and English. Keiki Kobayashi, Tetsukazu Nakanishi, Hiroshi Okubo, and Junichi Nakatsuru comprised the Ace Combat Zero soundtrack team.

A partial track list on the page confirms that the Ace Combat Zero vinyl soundtrack will include "Glacial Skies," "Contact," "The Round Table," "Hresvelgr," and "Zero." The last song, known for its combination of orchestra and flamenco guitar, is played during the game's climactic battle.

Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War originally appeared on the PlayStation 2 in 2006. In early 2020, Bandai Namco released the game's soundtrack on digital platforms, such as Spotify.

The latest title in the series to date is Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Bandai Namco released a DLC pack for the game containing crossover content from Top Gun: Maverick in late May 2022.

The Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War vinyl soundtrack will be available on September 28, 2022. The double vinyl set will cost 6,050 yen (~$46.50) in Japan.

Final Fantasy XIV Lyses Leadership Attire

Square Enix announced that Final Fantasy XIV players will now have the opportunity to obtain Lyse Hext's attire from Final Fantasy XIV Stormblood through the online store. Players can purchase Lyse's Leadership Attire through the Final Fantasy XIV Online Store for $15.00. It will come not only with the vibrant scarlet outfit, but also with Lyse's hairstyle as it first appeared in the Stormblood expansion. However, there are some caveats to the outfit.

Firstly, the outfit will only be available to redeem on a single character per purchase. This means that if you would like to have the outfit on multiple characters, you will need to buy the outfit multiple times. Additionally, Lyse's Leadership Attire is gender-locked. Only female characters will be able to wear the outfit and use the hairstyle. The store page also mentions that the gear may appear differently depending on the player character's race and that clipping may occur when worn with certain other gear.

Resident Evil 4 Remake Reimagined Storyline

During a PlayStation State of Play, a remake of Resident Evil 4 was announced. This featured a brief look at recreated environments, like the village seen at the start of the game, and character designs. However, Capcom has opened an official website for the Resident Evil 4 remake, which reveals that the game will also see a "reimagined" storyline. While it's clear that certain character designs have been modified for the remake, with Ashley, Ada, and Luis appearing briefly in the trailer, this won't be the only change made. [Thanks, AestheticGamer/Dusk Golem!]

The website states that the Resident Evil 4 remake will see a reimagined storyline, it will also feature more modernized gameplay elements. However, Capcom has yet to reveal how any of this will manifest. The trailer simply provided a glimpse into how the iconic starting area in Resident Evil 4 has been slightly modified for the remake.

You can take a look at screenshots of the Resident Evil 4 remake below.

On Twitter, the official Japanese Resident Evil account stated that the trailer shown at the State of Play was just a teaser trailer. This means an extended version of the trailer will potentially appear in near future.

The Resident Evil 4 remake will release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC on March 24, 2023.

DNF Duel Launcher

The latest DNF Duel trailer focuses on Launcher, a new fighter set to join the game's roster on launch. The character is a long-range fighter capable of attacking opponents from a distance using a variety of weapons. The trailer also gives fans a glimpse at the character's move sets and playstyle.

The character was previously teased back in March 2022, towards the end of the DNF Duel release date announcement trailer. As with all previous DNF Duel characters, Launcher was originally in Dungeon Fighter Online. Interestingly, Launcher's character design bears a close resemblance to that of Mechanic, another Gunner-type character from DFO.

Despite the change in appearance, Launcher shares many of the same moves as her DFO counterpart. In addition to Gunner moves like BBQ and Marilyn Rose, Launcher will also be able to use her Quantum Bomb, Flame Pillar, Steyr AMR, and the X-1 Extruder. Furthermore, her finisher appears to be her DFO Awakening skill Ancient Trigger, where she uses a large cannon that shoots several laser beams at the enemy.

You can check out the DNF Duel Launcher gameplay trailer below:

https://youtu.be/kTbz8Ouj6z0

So far, Arc System Works has revealed 12 playable characters, including Berserker, Inquisitor, and Striker, among many others. Last month, the developer also revealed the game's story mode, gallery, and glossary.

DNF Duel will release for the PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 on June 28, 2022.

Going through the cave was probably a mistake. War was declared and by the suggestion of the King's right-hand sorcerer, the shining paragon of heroism, Brigard, took his forces through a cave system in a bid to surprise the enemy, but a cave-in leaves the army stranded underground with no hope of rescue. Salvation appears in the form of a Valkyrie who descends from the heavens to inform Brigard and his loyal soldiers that they are dying and that she is here to lead them to the promised land. Instead, you all get trapped in Terragaya, neither dead nor alive but somewhere in the middle. The solution is to find the Guardian, solve the mystery of your alleged death and maybe get the lyrics to I've Got Soul But I'm Not A Soldier by The Killers out of your head. Or is that just me?
