Last week Blizzard launched Diablo Immortal, the next entry in its long-running, loot-driven action-RPG franchise. However, unlike previous games, this one is free-to-play, and was built from the ground up to be a mobile game first. While it did also come out on PC last week, the reality is this is a very different…

Tomb Raider's new owners just got $1bn dollars from Saudi Arabia

Embracer Group, the new owner of Tomb Raider and Deus Ex, has received a substantial cash injection courtesy of a $1bn investment from the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund (PIF).

If you aren't already aware of Embracer, it's the Swedish holding company and ultimate owner of a huge range of more-familiar game developers, including Saber, the team behind the Halo Anniversary remaster and the recent Evil Dead game; Gearbox, maker of Borderlands; and Coffee Stain Studios, the developer of, uh, Goat Simulator. That's right. The Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia now owns a percentage of Goat Simulator. There's a sentence I didn't expect to write today.

Embracer issued 100 million shares to a subdivision of the Fund named the Savvy Gaming Group, which aims to diversify Saudi's investment portfolio through gaming and other entertainment companies. This follows Embracer's purchase, in May, of Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, and Square Enix Montreal, the makers of Tomb Raider and Deus Ex. They now sit alongside Saints Row creator Volition and Metro series developer 4A in Embracer's impressive catalogue of studios.

EU says gaming laptops need to use USB C charging by 2027

A new EU law will make USB C charging ports mandatory on gaming laptops, smartphones, and tablets, but the former won't be enforced until 2027. The legislation aims to simply power interfaces across the technology scene, something that will reduce electronic waste and make buying accessories easier.

According to a European Parlament press release, the new gaming laptop law means "consumers will no longer need a different charging device and cable every time they purchase a new device." The upcoming rules will apply to a multitude of devices, including tablets, wireless gaming headsets, and handhelds like the Steam Deck.

While all small and medium electronics will need to use common chargers by 2024, the gaming laptops have been given a 40 month grace period. This should give manufacturers time to adopt USB C 2.1, which comes packed with 240W power delivery capabilities. In other words, you won't need a barrel plug to feed your portable powerhouse the juice it requires.

Back 4 Blood update lets you kick players, and yourself

The latest patch for Turtle Rock and Warner Bros' co-op horror game is out, and Back 4 Blood update 1.08 adds a major feature some players have asked for since the zombie game launched in 2021 - the ability to kick "problematic" players from the team, or yourself if you do too much friendly fire damage.

Back 4 Blood is definitely one of the best co-op games on PC, but despite it launching in October 2021 there has never really been a way to kick useless or uncooperative co-op players from the game. Given that it's a pretty difficult game even with all four players doing their best, having one of those go AFK or run amok with friendly fire is deeply annoying.

The June 2022 update seeks to change that, with a system that "identifies and allows kicking from a mission" when one player is idle for too long or inflicts too much friendly fire damage. The developers explain that this is a "conditional kick feature that will only trigger if someone is playing outside the bounds of the game" - rather than the option for other players to freely vote off anyone, which the team believes "can be exploitable and toxic." Turtle Rock adds that this feature is "not final and we will be monitoring it closely."

Nvidia RTX 4090 performance could more than double RTX 3090

The upcoming Nvidia RTX 4090 is expected to trump the current best graphics cards, but rumours suggest it'll outrun the RTX 3090 by more than double. While previous sources claim the green team's next flagship GeForce card will be at least twice as fast, it looks like the green team's contender could leave its predecessor further behind in the dust.

The latest Nvidia RTX 4090 leak comes courtesy of Kopite7kimi, who claims the next-gen GPU will feature speeds "slightly higher than twice the RTX 3090." While the newcomer's potential performance will likely be matched with monstrous power requirements, an earlier tweet by the leaker claims that the "TGP of RTX 4090 is still a mystery."

If the RTX 4090's rumoured specs are anything to go by, the RTX 4000 series should raise the gaming PC performance bar to new heights. Earlier leaks hint that even the RTX 4060 will feature RTX 3090 levels of ray tracing performance, and the RTX 4070 is supposedly 50% quicker.

It looks like a Minecraft RTS game is coming from Dungeons devs

According to a report, a new Minecraft game is in development and it may be a strategy game from the team behind Minecraft Dungeons. While still only a rumour, it seems like a Minecraft RTS game is coming - could it be revealed at the Xbox Showcase during Summer Game Fest?

In case you missed the news yesterday, games journalist - and conduit for leaks and rumours - Jeff Gerstmann is leaving Giant Bomb and going off on his own, but don't expect that to be the end of his revolving rumour mill. Now, in a video on his own Twitch channel (via ResetEra), Gerstmann states that there's "a new Minecraft spin-off in development."

Microsoft is apparently "testing it out" right now and Gerstmann says he's seen some screenshots of it that make it look like a real-time strategy game "of sorts." The player apparently controls a single unit on the field and orders units around "in a third-person view," which sounds similar to something like Overlord. It will have "story and cutscenes" too.

DIY Lego OLED monitor looks like a tiny text adventure display

A talented tinkerer has created a tiny Lego OLED monitor, and it looks like something Minifigures would play text adventure games on. Inspired by a computer-style wedge block from the toy maker's iconic space set, the DIY part is armed with a dinky OLED display, complete with a scrolling animation that brings the brick to life.

In a Twitter clip, modder James Brown shows off their Lego OLED monitor and its electronic innards. To replicate the look of the original space-themed part, the screen uses a similar, transparent 3D printed wedge that allows its ridiculously small panel to shine through. Upon popping it onto another brick, the retro-inspired screen springs to life, and it wouldn't look out of place in a Ridley Scott's Alien movie.

It's worth noting that while the DIY Lego brick looks like a vintage gaming monitor, the lines of text on its screen are literal white lines. So, while we'd love to play Rogue (the original Roguelike game) on a display smaller than our eyeballs, you'll have to use a normal sized gaming PC panel to explore the past for now.

This fan-made Starfield trailer eases the wait for the real one

The wait for a Starfield trailer proved too much for one fan, who decided that, rather than creating doors or holding out for the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase, they'd make one of their own. Redditor LexB777 (Jeffrey Boles), a self-proclaimed visual effects artist and video editor, has upscaled Starfield concept art and animated it - adding voiceovers, a few special effects, and some speculative plotting to bring Bethesda's space game to life ahead of its possible appearance at the Xbox Showcase.

The trailer, called "Captain, look at this!" opens with the theft of some documents from Constellation headquarters before veering into galaxy-saving territory and tantalizing us with cruisers in flight above settlements and flights headed to Neon, the pleasure planet. It also introduces characters who may (or may not) actually play a role and speculates on the role of certain players, including Reugen Industries.

It might only be a montage of facts and locations we've poured over already, but the improved artwork - which Boles says they made with "Remini AI upscaling and then a few hours in photoshop" - is particularly impressive, and the addition of animations and music go a long way toward bringing Starfield to life in a way we've yet to really experience.

Roblox music codes June 2022 – the best song IDs

Looking for Roblox music codes? There are thousands of popular songs available to listen to in Roblox, simply by entering music ID codes into your boombox or the radio. Using song IDs, you can play your favourite TikTok songs in games with your friends.

So how do you play music in Roblox? The method varies depending on which game you want to blast your tunes in. Some games allow you free access to the boombox - simply equip and press it to bring up a text box in which you can enter a song ID code. Catalog Heaven is a great place to test the Roblox music codes you find, as it allows you to equip any boombox in the shop and try it out.

In most games, however, you'll need to use the radio to play music. This is usually part of a paid Game Pass - the price of a Game Pass is set by each game developer individually. Once you have access to the radio, you can use it in the same way as the boombox - simply enter the song ID code and press play. Occasionally, tracks are taken down by Roblox, so if a code stops working, you'll have to look for a replacement. Here are the best radio music codes in Roblox that work in June 2022:

ESO High Isle expansion adds a touch of Tolkien to Tamriel

The Elder Scrolls Online High Isle expansion is live now, bringing with it new lands, friends, and a citadel invasion that wouldn't look out of place in J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings. Or perhaps we're just a bit starry-eyed for the land of the hobbits at the moment, seeing as Billy Boyd, who portrayed Pippin Took in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings film adaptations, voices one of High Isle's major new characters.

The High Isle expansion is a first for the MMO game, adding a brand-new location designed specifically for Bethesda's online game. It takes place throughout the Systres Archipelago, an island chain replete with contrasts and intrigue. The Breton's towering fortresses and sprawling towns on High Isle exist alongside volcanoes, majestic cliffs, and even jungles, but the dangers of the natural world are the least of your worries.

The latest expansion picks up the tale of the Bretons begun in March and follows a brand-new storyline of intrigue and conspiracy. This time, your foe is the mysterious Ascendant Lord, an enigmatic figure bent on plunging the world into never-ending war. As usual with ESO's expansions, the full story unfolds over the course of the next year, with several new trials and world events to keep you busy in the meantime.

The best Diablo Immortal Demon Hunter build for PvP and PvE

When it comes to making the best Diablo Immortal Demon Hunter build, there are several important factors to consider. The Demon Hunter is an attractive Diablo Immortal class as it's capable of dealing huge amounts of damage, earning a high rank on our Diablo Immortal tier list. A Demon Hunter's main objective is to deal as much damage as possible while herding large groups of enemies with its crowd control effects.

Taking advantage of late-game item drops, Diablo Immortal gems, and several powerful skills is key to making the best Diablo Immortal Demon Hunter build. We've gone for a mix of AoE focused attacks that inflict slowdown effects on foes, alongside a set of gear that greatly enhances the Demon Hunter's ultimate ability.

It's going to take a while to get everything you need to make this build, as one of the skills requires a level 50 character, and there's plenty of legendary gear to collect. Once you have everything, though, you'll be a nigh-on unstoppable monster in both PvE and PvP. This Demon Hunter build works best when playing with friends, but can do reasonably well if you're playing this RPG game independently.

Minecraft Warden: how to spawn, avoid, or fight

The Minecraft Warden patrols the deepest areas of caverns and is the only blind mob in the game. So, what makes the Warden so frightening? Well, lack of sight doesn't mean the Warden can't track you down. Instead, the Warden uses sound to locate the player, which means you have to be very sneaky to avoid a confrontation with this new mob - if you're smart you can throw items like snowballs to get the Warden to head in another direction. However, if you find yourself exposed and with nowhere to go, you will have to take on this powerful beast.

     Diablo Immortal Gems guide

Looking for a comprehensive guide to getting, socketing, and upgrading Diablo Immortal Gems? As in previous Diablo games, gems are absolutely indispensable when it comes to maximising your character's potential and boosting your gear score. Each one grants a passive attribute buff, giving you that much-needed edge to keep fighting through the horrors of Sanctuary just that little bit longer.

While you might be tempted to hold off farming for normal Gems in favour of those coveted Legendary Gems, these are relatively difficult to come by in Diablo Immortal without opening your wallet first, so you might end up waiting for a few hundred hours. The initial benefits of standard Gems might seem negligible at first, but taking the time to upgrade them will make those Elder Rift runs far more manageable.

In this guide, we'll outline the benefits of each Gem type, plus how to find, socket, and upgrade them. Exactly how valuable each Gem is depends heavily on the Diablo Immortal builds you're constructing, so keep your character's base strengths and weaknesses in mind as you decide what Gems will be best for you.

I'm going to do my absolute best to tell you about The Quarry with no spoilers, but it will be hard because a lot of what marks it out as better and cleverer and funner than comparable horrorventure romps is all tangled up in the plot. Broadly, it is the story of a group of camp counselors, one night in a quarry-based summer camp, and how baffling organisational choice can lead to ruin.

Going into my chat with Steve Piggott and Rasmus Löfström of Torn Banner Studios, I thought I had a reasonable grasp of the developer's trajectory up to that point. After finding success in 2012 with their breakout hit Chivalry: Medieval Warfare, Torn Banner had gone on to compose the difficult second album Mirage: Arcane Warfare – an Arabian Nights-inspired take on Chivalry's multiplayer melee combat. Mirage had not been as well-received as Chivalry, yet despite this stumbling block, the studio had found its feet again with Chivalry 2, a souped-up sequel to their earlier work with more nuanced combat, bigger maps, and support for 64-player battles.

It turns out that, while broadly correct, I wildly underestimated Torn Banner's reversal of fortunes. In the five years between the launch of Mirage and Chivalry 2's impending Steam release, Torn Banner has gone from a studio on the brink to being more successful than its leadership ever imagined.

Here's How Splatoon 3 Enemy Octolings Look

People have a chance to see what the Splatoon 3 Octoling enemies look like. Nintendo took to Twitter to share three pictures of the characters in-game. These are the foes that people face during the game's campaign. These enemies tend to be women with similar outfits and hairstyles. This means that their appearance can vary from the playable Octolings we've seen in games like Splatoon 2.

First, here's a general image showing art of Splatoon 3 Octoling enemies. The outfit is similar to the ones in past entries, though the colors and details are slightly different. While the tentacle hair is fuzzier, it also looks similar. They also seem to still use a Splattershot variant. The glasses/goggles look different, however.
Here's How Splatoon 3 Enemy Octolings Look 2

And here are the other two Octoling images. Both of these seem to be in-game screenshots, perhaps taken from cutscenes. Each one focuses on a single Octoling. One of the two offers a closer look at the new "fuzzy" quality of the character's hair.
[gallery columns="2" ids="929497,929498" link="file"]

This isn't the first peek at Splatoon 3 enemies. Nintendo showed off some Octarians before. Over six different kinds of opponents all showed up in those screenshots and pieces of art.

Splatoon 3 will come to the Nintendo Switch on September 9, 2022.

fate/grand order moriarty don quixote

James Moriarty (Ruler), Don Quixote, and Zhang Jiao are now available in the Japanese version of Fate/Grand Order. This is the second banner for the Traum Lostbelt. Charlemagne and Kriemhild were the poster Servants for the first one. While Don Quixote and Zhang Jiao will be available even after the banner ends, Moriarty is limited. The banner will be available until June 15, 2022.

The Ruler version of Moriarty is younger than his Archer counterpart. Kento Itou (Hypnosis Mic) provides his voice. His Noble Phantasm, Mathematical Malignant Annihilate, deals extra damage against enemies with the Good alignment. It also seals their skills for a turn, and applies the Evil alignment for three turns.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nyOKQuFtmF0&feature=emb_logo

Don Quixote (and Sancho) is an SR Lancer Servant. Her Noble Phantasm, Valiente Asalto Dedicado a la Princesa, is a single target anti-Giant Quick attack that deals 1000 damage to herself when she uses it. However, it will also increase the party's attack for three turns. Nobuo Tobita voices Sancho while Satomi Arai voices Don Quixote. Tobita is known for his role as Kamille in Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam, while Arai voices Fa in the Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam: A New Translation trilogy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6n0sGirdgM

The final new Servant is Zhang Jiao, who hails from the Three Kingdoms era of China. Shigeru Chiba (Yu Yu Hakusho) provides his voice. His Noble Phantasm, The Blue Sky is Dead and the Yellow Sky Must Rise, deals damage and applies a situational debuff depending on the field. For example, if the field is by water, then it decreases the enemies' Arts resist by 20%.

Tomorrow Children Phoenix Edition

Q Games announced that The Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition will release in 2022 for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. The game is an updated re-release of the original The Tomorrow Children, with enhancements for the PS5. Notable additions include new islands, features, and items, as well as rebalanced gameplay. Unlike the original's free-to-play model, The Tomorrow Children: Phoenix Edition will be a premium title.

Kyoto-based developer Q Games released The Tomorrow Children in partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment in 2016. The free-to-play PS4 title put players in charge of building a town in the Void, with the help of other players online. Less than a year after its release, Sony announced it would shut down the game's servers in 2017. This made it impossible for players to continue playing the game after the shutdown.

However, in late 2021, Q Games announced that it had struck a deal with Sony and acquired The Tomorrow Children IP. Q Games founder and director Dylan Cuthbert stated that the team would begin developing the game for the PS5, with new features planned. Some key changes include the removal of microtransactions and "reverting the game back to its intended design." Furthermore, multiplayer will be peer-to-peer to ensure the game is playable indefinitely.

Soul Hackers 2 Collector's Edition

As Soul Hackers 2 approaches its global release date in August 2022, Atlus West has dropped more details on the premium goodies available for fans willing to shell out for the Soul Hackers 2 Collector's Edition. The company unveiled the package in a Tweet, encouraging interested fans to subscribe to Atlus West's email newsletter for instructions on how to pre-order.

Atlus West also included a photo breaking down the included bonuses in the Soul Hackers 2 Collector's Edition pack.

Soul Hackers 2 Collector's Edition

The pack costs USD $199.99 and is limited to one item per buyer. It differs somewhat from the 25th Anniversary Edition available for pre-order in Japan. There are some similarities in the offering, though. The Soul Hackers 2 Collector's Edition comes in a branded box and includes the full game on the platform of the buyer's choice. The game will be protected by a steelbook case with custom art of Ringo. The 3" Ai-Ho figure from the 25th Anniversary Edition is included, but toy lovers will get an extra on top: A plushie of Mimi, a little drone belonging to Figue. A shark keychain, a set of character art cards, and five pins round out the physical offerings.

A soundtrack is part of the package, too, but is contained on a custom USB drive rather than CDs. It is unconfirmed if the soundtrack matches the tracklist seen in the Japanese 25th Anniversary Edition, or if the Ai-Ho and Maid Outfit DLC is included in the package. The 100-page booklet is also not included in the Collector's Edition.

According to Atlus West, supplies of the Soul Hackers 2 Collector's Edition are "extremely limited," and the pack will be sold exclusively through the Shop Atlus website. Pre-orders open on June 10, 2022.

Soul Hackers 2 will appear on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on August 25, 2022, in Japan. It will appear worldwide on August 26, 2022.
