The next game from Elden Ring studio in

Elden Ring has been out in the wild for several months now, but developer From Software still has more up its sleeve. In a new interview, Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki says From is currently in the "final stages" of development on its next game, which may be a new Armored Core title - or something else entirely.

Speaking with the Japanese language site 4Gamers, Miyazaki says (through a rough Google translation) that at least since From Software was making Sekiro, the studio has maintained around 'three and a half' in-house production lines at a time. One of those was, of course, Elden Ring, and another is currently coming close to completion.

Best SMG Warzone: the top SMGs in Season 4

Looking for the best SMGs in Warzone? Caldera, the new Warzone map, has completely changed the way the battle royale game is played. Compared to Verdansk's large open spaces spread throughout the map, Caldera is much tighter overall, packing each area with unique points of interest to keep things interesting. As a result, long range battles aren't as prevalent, causing weapons types like the best AR in Warzone and SMGs to dominate the meta.

If you're still trying to pick off enemies from a distance using the best snipers, you need to have a reliable secondary weapon like the best SMGs in Warzone to immediately blast any flankers away. Don't forget to check out our best Warzone loadouts guide to see which attachments you need to build these game-breaking setups. The Warzone Season 4 update introduces nerfs to the H4 Blixen and Armaguerra 43, but early signs point to these changes being highly ineffective.

All Diablo Immortal Hidden Lair locations and how to find them

Have the Diablo Immortal Hidden Lair locations been eluding you? If you've been playing Blizzard's mobile RPG game for any length of time, you've probably become very familiar with one particular notification: 'A Hidden Lair has opened in this zone'. Regardless of what Diablo Immortal class you are, they are well worth investigating for the upgrades they can provide.

Best sniper Warzone: the best sniper rifle in Season 4

Want to know what the best sniper rifle is in Warzone? There are plenty of options to pick from in the battle royale game, but there's nothing quite as satisfying as a sniper rifle. While this weapon type used to be a sure-fire pick for players back when Verdansk was around, that hasn't been the case since new Warzone map was introduced. That's not to say sniping is dead, far from it, but you do have to think carefully about your surroundings before calling in the best Warzone loadouts.

The Warzone Season 3 update drastically changes how one-shot kills work. Warzone now uses damage range to calculate each bullet's total damage when it hits an enemy player. As a result, you should avoid picking rifles without any potential for headshot kills with a single bullet, as they cannot compete with the best snipers in Warzone. Season 4 has improved several aggressive sniper rifles by adjusting the flinch settings, making these weapons easier to control.

There are a lot of factors to consider, including which attachments you choose to equip your chosen Warzone sniper with, how confident you are at judging travel time, and what your peeking skills are like. We've analysed the lot to give you the definitive answer on which Warzone sniper is best for your playing style.

How to use a Warzone Golden Keycard to open Mercenary Vaults

Want to open up a Mercenary Vault with a Warzone Golden Keycard? Long time Warzone players won't forget the loot-laden bunkers that were underneath Verdansk years ago. These mysterious bunkers have made their way to Caldera after the Warzone Season 4 update, but this time they're known as Mercenary Vaults and they can only be accessed with a Golden Keycard.

Finding a Warzone Golden Keycard in the battle royale game can be a tricky process, but there are ways to maximise your chances of finding one. Once you have a keycard, all you need to do is travel to the areas on the map featuring yellow circles around them. Opening Mercenary Vaults rewards you with game-changing loot, setting players up perfectly to dominate rival squads with loads of cash, weapons, and equipment.

Blizzard announces changes to stamp out WoW boosting groups

The best (and sometimes worst) part of World of Warcraft is undoubtedly the social aspect. While players of the hit MMORPG can enjoy grinding, questing and exploring solo, it's all the more enjoyable with a friendly face or two pitching in. There are other benefits to having friends, however, one of which being the long-standing practice of "boosting". However, Blizzard is now aiming to clamp down on WoW boosters with new changes.

The concept is simple. A friendly player logs in with a high-level character, groups up with your low-level character, and pulls every dang enemy in an entire low-level dungeon before felling them all with a single AoE. Though the XP amounts will be lower than with a same-level group, a few runs like this can significantly speed up the levelling process.

Unfortunately, there's a seedier side. Anyone who's hung out in Stormwind or Orgrimmar knows that crooks selling gold for real money are a dime a dozen, but equally common are those selling dungeon boosting services. Pay someone working in an illicit farming warehouse somewhere a whack of in-game gold, and they'll boost you. More often than not, gold earned by dungeon boosters is then sold on to others for real money. Aside from anything else, the constant ads for boosting gums up chat worse than a political argument breaking out on Trade Chat.

Best LMG Warzone: the best LMGs in Season 4

Looking for the best LMG in Warzone? Warzone LMGs are all too often overlooked when it comes to the best Warzone loadouts. It's not hard to see why, either. In general, they take just as long to down enemies as one of the best assault rifles in Warzone, and they have similar rates of fire and ranged effectiveness, too. However, unlike the game's most popular weapons, LMGs are very heavy and come with some of the worst aim down sight speeds, mobility, and 'gun ready' times in the game.

Those stats can make clearing out buildings, re-armouring, and switching weapons very difficult, and we've died countless times simply because we were stuck in the 'gun ready' animation. Thankfully, some of these issues can be fixed with the right attachments, making the best Warzone LMGs surprisingly competitive in the right scenario.

Since the time to kill speed changes in previous Warzone updates, LMGs have fallen out of favour compared to other guns. These weapons can still be viable in the right loadouts, so you should definitely give one of these monstrous weapons a try.

Age of Empires 4 season 2 adds map preference system in July

Relic Entertainment have further detailed the upcoming Age of Empires 4 season 2 and 3 roadmap, with timelines for several much-requested features including full hotkey remapping and a map preference system. The first details for season two of the RTS game were outlined in March, which has now been announced for July.

Along with fully remappable key inputs and the option to list your preferred maps to influence which locations you are more likely to see in ladder play, season two also brings a new map and a player colour picker. The latter of these means that you can now choose your empire's fashion preferences before a skirmish in both single-player and multiplayer matches (including ranked games).

The Pit is the new map, and is said to be competitively focused with "a mostly open layout." More details on that, and on the work that Relic has done to help resolve any hotkey conflicts, will be coming shortly.

Diablo Immortal fan turns 600 million WoW gold into microtransactions

Maxing out your character in Diablo Immortal can get very expensive - as one player found after spending over $15,000 to get one max rank legendary gem - but one cunning fan has found a rather unique approach, converting over 600 million WoW gold into Blizzard credit to spend on the RPG game's microtransactions. Reddit user daymeeuhn posted about their endeavours, explaining how they sold off a wealth of old BlizzCon mounts to fund their search for gems.

"I had a bunch of leftover loot cards from years ago, when Blizzard gave them out at BlizzCon events," explains daymeeuhn. "Trying to sell them was near impossible as you get scammed on digital sales so frequently. They ended up sitting in a drawer collecting dust for ages." With the arrival of Diablo Immortal on PC, they realised that if they turned these into in-game gold, they could buy WoW tokens from the MMORPG's auction house, which can then be converted into $15 of Blizzard store credit per token.

"I spent the month of May flipping some old codes for Spectral Tigers and what have you in-game for gold," daymeeuhn continues, clarifying that this process is fair game under World of Warcraft's TOS and that they never involved any real-money transactions. "I had no interest in trying to sell any of the gold for USD, as it's very difficult to do and it's quite easy to get banned."

In the giant jumbled word cloud of all my qualities and traits, I'm willing to bet that "pluviophile" would be one of the biggest words. I adore rain. Whenever it starts, I tend to drop whatever I'm doing - work, dishes, significant other - and I'll be out frolicking in the downpour before they've hit the floor.

Because I love rain so much, I hold games to an almost unfair standard when it comes to the simulation of precipitation. How in the world can a videogame come close to emulating that wonderful, transcendental feeling of being outside in the middle of a thunderstorm? The answer is, it can't. Games have to rely on other things, like textures, sounds, and clever little animations to really sell the idea of being out amongst the H₂s and the Os.

The time has come, fellow pluviophiles. It's time to grade the very best rain that PC gaming has to offer. Below you'll find our eight worthy contenders. Each has been chosen for their spectacular rendition of one of nature's greatest phenomena. Each one shall be marked according to my patented and cutting-edge WIPERS grading system for digital rain. So drop what you're doing. It's time to frolick. No umbrella required.

FFVII Remake Development Team Discusses Sephiroth Early Appearances

In honor of the Final Fantasy VII 25th anniversary, Square Enix's released a number of announcements and new details about the entry and its games. Most recent is a FFVII Remake official interview discussing Sephiroth and various design decisions. Most notably, it talks about design decisions relating to his appearance visually and in the story.

Editor's Note: There are spoilers pertaining to Sephiroth and FFVII Remake chapter two below.

The interview with development team members went over various parts of Sephiroth's appearance in FFVII Remake chapter two. For example, it goes over the lighting for the scenes, him showing up earlier in the story than expected, and the early Nibelheim flashbacks. Scenario Designer Co-Director Motomu Toriyama first explained it was to show Sephiroth's prominence in this retelling and Cloud's life.

Here's Toriyama's statement.

There was the intention to show the effect that a most likely imagined Sephiroth had on Cloud's mind at an early stage, but his earlier appearance was also because his existence had a massive influence on the world of Remake itself.

Additional commnts went over their appearances. Graphics and VFX Director Shintaro Takai noted special shaders for the Nibelheim flashbacks were designed to make "memories are distorted" and "feel like an illusion." The Lighting Director Iichiro Yamaguchi also noted the use of lighting with the flames to create tension and make sure Cloud and Sephiroth "did not look too flat."

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available for the PlayStation 4. FFVII Remake Intergrade is available for the PlayStation 5 and PC. FFVII Rebirth will appear on the PS5 in 2023.

dragon ball super super hero movie header

For a limited time, the first five minutes of the upcoming Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie is available on YouTube. It will be available until June 26, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. JST. That would be 7:59 a.m. PT/10:59 a.m. ET/4:59 p.m. CET on the same day. However, the video is only available in Japan. This means viewers will need to physically be in the country or use a VPN. [Thanks, ryokutya2089!]

The movie starts with a recap of when Goku annihilated the Red Ribbon Army, as well as the creation of the Androids. It also very briefly summarizes events from the Cell Games Saga before it begins in earnest. The rest of the scene focuses on the Red Ribbon Army's attempts to find and recruit Doctor Hedo, who is a descendant of Doctor Gero. Unfortunately, Doctor Hedo is in prison, and they must wait three months before he is free. The video then ends.

This scene gives viewers a good look at some of the new characters from the Red Ribbon Army who will appear in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. The majority of the scene features Magenta and Carmine, as Doctor Hedo is in jail. The movie will introduce two more characters, Gamma 1 and Gamma 2, though they are not in the scene.

Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero is available in theaters in Japan, and it will release in most international countries in August 2022. Those in Hong Kong, Macao, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, and Thailand will be able to watch it in September 2022.

Splatoon 3 Pearl Marina

Off The Hook is back for more. The musical duo of Pearl and Marina has a new Splatoon 3 track on offer for fans. The track was released by Nintendo through the official Splatoon Twitter account, along with some art of the characters.

Known as "Off the Hook" ("Tentacles" in Japan), the pair were the hosts of Splatoon 2's in-game show, Inkopolis News. After the events of Splatoon, Pearl and Marina took over as hosts from the Squid Sisters Callie and Marie. Players who logged into Splatoon 2 would see updates from Pearl and Marina about maps in the daily rotation and other ongoing events. They also performed during Splatfests, and even appeared in real life to hold virtual concerts in Japan and around the world. It has yet to be confirmed who will be the hosts of Inkopolis News for Splatoon 3. Whether Pearl and Marina will return for the gig or if the role will transition to new characters (or if there will even be an Inkopolis News segment, for that matter), it seems like Off The Hook is at least part of Splatoon 3's game world.

The new single from Pearl and Marina for Splatoon 3 is called "Busy Vacation feat. Off The Hook." It's the first single off their album "Taking That Back" ("Zengen Tekkai" in Japanese).  The promotional tweet reveals that the pair have been scouting out members for their band while on a world tour.

Check out the track below.

The Splatoon series has a history of coming up with various fictional in-universe bands and pop acts. Besides the Callie and Marie and Pearl and Marina duos, Splatoon bands like Front Roe and C-Side are credited with various songs and musical tracks.

Splatoon 3 is in development and will launch on the Nintendo Switch on September 9, 2022.

Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse

A total eclipse is coming in just under a month's time. More specifically, visual novel Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse is landing on PC. The announcement comes courtesy of aNCHOR, which developed this version of the game. Formally titled Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse Remastered, the game lands on July 20, 2022. This will be the first time Total Eclipse is made officially available in English.

Check out the game's opening below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o9NN9Uwk1g0&

Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse Remastered is an enhanced rerelease of the titular spin-off, which is based on the world and storyline of Age's Muv-Luv series. Though typically framed as a trilogy, Muv-Luv's three story arcs: Extra, Unlimited, and Alternative are more like counterparts to each other rather than direct continuations. Extra is framed as a romantic comedy, with protagonist Takeru struggling to choose between the women in his life. Unlimited throws Takeru into an alternate timeline from Extra, where Earth is at war with mysterious aliens called the BETA. There he joins the military and pilots a Tactical Surface Fighter (TSF) mecha against the invaders. Alternative is a sequel of sorts to Unlimited, involving time travel.

Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse was originally a novel series, but it received an anime adaptation in 2012 and a visual novel adaptation in 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The visual novel was then remastered for this release on PC. It tells a standalone story, focusing on different characters and a different perspective of humanity's war against the BETA. Written by series creator Yoshimune Kouki, the story takes place in Project Prominence, a TSF development initiative based in Alaska. It's centered around Yuuya Bridges, a hotshot test pilot who is reassigned to Argus Flight, a joint American/Japanese team. The team is tasked with building and testing a new next-generation TSF for Japan. However, personality clashes within the team, particularly between Yuuya and his superior, Yui Takamura, turn the atmosphere tense.

Muv-Luv Alternative Total Eclipse Remastered launches on PC via Steam on July 20, 2022. A free-to-play mobile spin-off called Immortals: Muv-Luv Alternative launched in Japan on March 17, 2022. An action-based spin-off called Project Mikhail: A Muv-Luv War Story is available in early access on Steam.

Vampire Survivors patch blue fire hordesIf you have recently felt an itch to experience new content in developer poncle's indie hit game Vampire Survivors, then you will likely appreciate the new patch that just dropped. It adds a decent amount of features, including a new weapon, two new Arcanas, six additional achievements, and language support for both Brazilian-Portuguese and German. Arguably the most significant addition to Vampire Survivors comes in the form of a new character who the patch notes refer to as "the Posh one." Interestingly, neither the patch notes nor the new teaser trailer describes much about this new character, but those who try and unlock them will find quite the surprise. As it turns out, a tree named Peppino serves as Vampire Survivors' 24th character. And no, this tree does not have a face or limbs like the ents found in The Lord of the Rings. It is literally a stationary tree that cannot be moved by the player. A bizarre inclusion to say the least, but Peppino seems to pe...

Nirvana Initiative Review 1 (copy)AI: The Somnium Files is an insanely tough act to follow. I consider it to have one of the best narratives in all of gaming. I honestly didn't expect its sequel, nirvanA Initiative, to be able to catch that lightning in a bottle again. Truth be told, I wasn't completely sold on it even after putting a substantial amount of time in.  Kotaro Uchikoshi (the writer for both games) is as fallible as the rest of us, after all. He can't keep surprising us forever. Or maybe he can, as this game seems to demonstrate the further into it you get. It might not equal the story of its predecessor, but AI: The Somnium Files – nirvanA Initiative at least comes very close. NirvanA Initiative picks up shortly after the first game's epilogue. This creates some plot discrepancies, but they're not a big deal. You don't have to have completed the first game to play and enjoy the sequel, surprisingly, although I'd certainly recommend it. In the very first sce...

Riot Games has introduced an entirely new rank in VALORANT Episode 5 to help the skewed rank distribution in-game. Tactical FPS games are generally very competitive, where players try their best to squeeze every bit of skill, tactic, and strategy to gain the upper hand on the opponents. Unfortunately, the high-risk, high-pressure environment in these […]
