The video, which appeared to show protagonist A2 entering a mysterious church area in the Copied City, is viral marketing for a hefty set of fan-designed mod tools that the team showcased in a short Twitch stream. The developers initially teased the video out under the guise of a random user who had accidentally stumbled across the secret door. While there was certainly speculation that the content could be the result of a mod, the complexity of the room and the scripting involved were beyond what had been seen among the Nier: Automata mod community. This led to hypotheses that perhaps the room was part of viral marketing for the recently-released Switch version of Nier: Automata, for a Drakengard 3 remake, or even for a new game. This speculation was further fueled by the game's producer Yosuke Saito, who tweeted about the initial video with the simple comment, "Eternal mystery," and followed up suggesting that it was something the game's creator Yoko Taro might do. Yoko Taro himself also referenced the video obliquely, without any specific confirmation or denial as to its nature. |

PCGamesN Friday, July 29, 2022 9:26 AM  Looking for the best LMG in Warzone? Warzone LMGs are all too often overlooked when it comes to the best Warzone loadouts. It's not hard to see why, either. In general, they take just as long to down enemies as one of the best assault rifles in Warzone, and they have similar rates of fire and ranged effectiveness, too. However, unlike the game's most popular weapons, LMGs are very heavy and come with some of the worst aim down sight speeds, mobility, and 'gun ready' times in the game. Those stats can make clearing out buildings, re-armouring, and switching weapons very difficult, and we've died countless times simply because we were stuck in the 'gun ready' animation. Thankfully, some of these issues can be fixed with the right attachments, making the best Warzone LMGs surprisingly competitive in the right scenario. Since the time to kill speed changes in previous Warzone updates, LMGs have fallen out of favour compared to other guns. These weapons can still be viable in the right loadouts, so you should definitely give one of these monstrous weapons a try. While several of these characters have been previously rumoured or seen in some of the recent Genshin Impact 3.0 leaks, we now have official confirmation of their existence and appearance. The 'Prelude to Wisdom' teaser released by Hoyoverse follows the developer-led format of the previous Sumeru previews. While this teaser more generally gives an overview of the culture and civilisation of new locale Sumeru, the most interesting part for most players will likely be the rapid-fire reveal towards the end which gives us a proper look at several new Genshin Impact characters who are likely to be joining the playable roster. Leading the charge is Tighnari, a Dendro user and Amurta researcher - and the 3.0 character who we've already seen the most about previously. Next, we get a look at silver-haired Alhaitham, who is from the Sumeru Akademiya and meets the Traveller in Port Ormos. Desertfolk mercenary Dehya appears next, dressed in black and red wraps and sporting gold-tipped hair and wolf-like ears. The Forgotten Saga was announced during the series' 15th anniversary celebrations, and a new video from the RPG game's developer breaks down the nuances of the new expansion. The DLC marks the first time Assassin's Creed has adopted the roguelite format, where players make repeated attempts to get through a challenging set of encounters. Progress is reset upon death but some persistent upgrades carry over between runs, making each subsequent attempt a little more feasible. Forgotten Saga sees the return of Odin as a playable character, as the god descends into Niflheim - the Viking hell - to go up against the minions of Hel. Each run, Ubisoft explains, you'll have to make decisions about which path to take. As you cross the bridges between areas, they will collapse, meaning that you cannot backtrack and change your mind about where to go mid-run. You'll find new weapons and gear as you progress through Niflheim - the weapons are randomised with each new run, but your armour persists, so you'll be able to grow increasingly stronger with repeated attempts. In October 2022, a new accessibility update will go live for Resident Evil Village. This free update will include the choice to toggle subtitle sizes, as well as color and background. The NieR fan community has been in an uproar over the last several days, following the saga of a "secret church" area supposedly discovered five years after the game's release. Now the secret of the NieR Automata church has been revealed. As it turns out, it's neither an elaborate hoax, nor a bit of viral marketing for something new to do with NieR. Rather, it's a bit of both. According to its creators, the whole event was a complex, engrossing stunt designed to show off a powerful new set of modding tools. You can read more about the beginnings of the stunt in this post. But to summarize, an anonymous player going by "sadfutago" began posting videos and screens a never-before-seen church area supposedly found in NieR Automata's Copied City location. Many were left wondering whether the thing was a hoax or actual, newly-discovered content in the game. The case for it being "legitimate" was bolstered by the fact that at the time, NieR Automata modding tools and techniques were widely considered incapable of fashioning entirely new areas as demonstrated in the videos and screenshots posted. Combined with cryptic references to the rest of the NieR franchise, some suggested it was a viral marketing trick to promote the upcoming Switch port of Automata, or even a new NieR game. Things reached a fever pitch yesterday and today, as more and more elaborate screens and videos from the secret NieR Automata church were shown, referencing titles like Drakengard 3 and showing off assets seemingly imported from that game into NieR Automata's engine. By then some, including veteran modder and "Final Secret" discoverer Lance McDonald, had concluded that this indeed was evidence of a "bleeding-edge" modding project rather than anything official. But without definite confirmation, speculation continued. The climactic moment came when sadfutago updated their Reddit profile with a link to a Twitch stream, as well as some broken Japanese promising that the stunt was "not an ARG (Alternate Reality Game)" and "not official". Then they went live, broadcasting themselves playing through a lengthy, newly-constructed gameplay sequence, created with a new set of modding tools. The creators of the NieR Automata secret church were users DevolasRevenge, Woeful_Wolf, and RaiderB. The team thanked the community, and apologized for "misleading everyone". According to them, they were going for "a cut content/secret, not ARG" in their construction of the stunt.
The NieR Automata church creators also promised that they would make the tools open-source, so the wider modding community can benefit from a set of tools capable of doing things previously available only to NieR Automata's developers. In the end, while the saga of the secret church turned out not to be related to anything "official", it did inaugurate a new era in NieR Automata modding, and provided some excitement around a beloved game. NieR Automata is available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A Nintendo Switch port is due out on October 6, 2022. HoYoVerse has released some information on what players can expect for the Phase II of Version 2.8 of Genshin Impact. As a reminder, this will be the final update to the game before the Sumeru region debuts in Version 3.0. Yoimiya will be one of the limited 5-stars available to pull for. Players will also have a higher chance of pulling Yun Jin, Xinyan, and Bennett from this banner. For those who wish to pull for weapons instead, the weapon banner will feature Thundering Pulse (Bow) and Summit Shaper (Sword) as the exclusive five-stars. There will also be an event story of sorts featuring Yoimiya and Heizou, judging by the official art for the second phase of Summer Fantasia. https://twitter.com/GenshinImpact/status/1552204643534528513 From August 4 to August 15, the game will run the Reminiscent Regimen event. It will take place in the Golden Apple Archipelago, and players will need to first finish the Summertime Odyssey: I quest. This event will be a time challenge using your Waverider. Prizes include the usual Primogems, Mora, and Hero's Wit experience books. From August 12 to August 22, Genshin Impact will run the Evermotion Mechanical Painting event. You will need to restore mechanical parts and then combine them; most likely, there will be a puzzle element to this event. You will get a Furnishing alongside the usual Primogems, Weapon Ascension Materials, and Mora. Genshin Impact is readily available on Windows PC, PS4, PS5, and mobile devices. Version 2.8 Phase II of Genshin Impact will go live on August 2, 2022. Kazuha and Klee will not be available until future re-runs after this date. FFXIV producer and director Naoki Yoshida has announced a delay for the planned NA data center expansion. Originally planned for August 2022, Yoshida revealed that the first phase of the expansion will instead start in November 2022. The schedule for the second phase of the expansion will remain unchanged. Yoshida explains that the main reason for the delay was related to recent semiconductor shortages. Specifically, the company's server vendor had informed Square Enix that it would be unable to deliver the required equipment due to the shortage. While Square Enix had tried to find another solution, it ultimately decided to delay the first phase of the expansion. The planned data expansion will add a total of eight new worlds for North American players to play in. The newly added worlds will arrive in two phases and will fall under a new logical data center. The first phase will add four worlds, with the second phase adding an additional four worlds. Square Enix expects the second phase of the expansion to roll out sometime in the Spring or Summer of 2023. Japanese and European data centers received a similar expansion as part of the 6.18 patch, released on July 5, 2022. That update also added data center travel, which allows players to transfer their characters to new servers. However, Square Enix was later forced to suspend data center travel due to congestion. Think LA Noir, where choosing a certain response could give you far more — or far less — of the emotion you were anticipating. South of the Circle is undoubtedly a fantastically written, absorbing story, but it actually gets the dialogue choices worse. However, it has a striking art style, brimming with memorable moments with events framed in ways that make the game almost akin to digital artwork. Wonderful motion-captured performances seal the deal. South of the Circle is played from the perspective of Peter Hamilton, a Cambridge lecturer who finds himself stranded in Antarctica after his plane goes down. The pilot is injured, so Peter journeys out into the snow to find help. But things are more dire than he realized. These sequences only make up about half the game, however.
