The Elden Ring YouTube launch far exceeded what Google expected from its video platform. And yes, the most popular bosses are probably the ones you're thinking they are.

Dead by Daylight Chapter 25 Wesker confirmation: Resident Evil is back

Over the weekend, Dead by Daylight leaks started popping up, seemingly revealing details about the 25th chapter and previously announced Raccoon City PD map rework. Well, thanks to the Behaviour Beyond livestream on August 3, another Resident Evil chapter has been confirmed with Project W coming to DBD in Chapter 25.

Project W will bring another two licensed Survivors, and one new killer, to the popular asymmetrical horror. While some fans will definitely be disappointed by the omission of the oh-so-tall Lady Dimitrescu, others are over the moon at the Albert Wesker news. The leather-clad killer will be able to infect Survivors with the Uroboros virus from his infected arm, significantly slowing their movement speed. While this is similar to Nemesis, there will be differences in the gameplay between the two. However, just how that gameplay will differ remains a surprise, with Behaviour's Mathieu Cote revealing as little as possible during the Behaviour Beyond press briefing.

Halo Infinite open world never had crafting, dev confirms

While the latest Halo game is arguably one of the best open-world games in the last year, developer 343 Industries tried to avoid the trappings of other games in the genre - which is why the Halo Infinite open-world never had a crafting system, hunting, or other survival game features.

While the Halo series features some of the best FPS games around thanks to their open map design, the fact that Halo Infinite was going for full freedom of exploration created some problems, according to 343 head of creative Joseph Staten on the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences podcast.

Genshin Impact Tighnari team – the best team comp

What's the best Genshin Impact Tighnari team comp? There are a few variations of the best team for Tighnari, so if you do manage to snag this upcoming Genshin Impact character on the next Genshin Impact banner, here are your options.

Tighnari is a five-star, Dendro bow-user, who will hopefully be available in the new region, Sumeru, in the upcoming Genshin Impact 3.0 update. We've put together a Genshin Impact Tighnari build based on his abilities datamined on Honey Honey World. It looks like Tighnari's Dendro skills are vital to his build and elemental reactions are key to optimise Tighnari's elemental burst and elemental skill on the battlefield.

Genshin Impact events – all current and upcoming events

Want to know more about the upcoming Genshin Impact events? A new version of Genshin Impact arrives every six weeks, complete with new characters, quests, and events. It's difficult to keep track of which events are currently running and if there are any new ones coming soon, so here's a schedule for all current and upcoming Genshin Impact events.

There are usually a number of Genshin Impact events running simultaneously, and they aren't just in-game events. When a new Genshin Impact character joins the game, the devs launch a web event at the same time - players learn about the latest characters through an interactive story told through a web browser. The rewards for completing different events range from in-game items like primogems and mora, to real life prizes like mouse mats and plushies.

Just like the Genshin Impact banners, most events are only available for a limited time, so it's worth participating as soon as you can. New events are usually added to Genshin Impact after an update, but it's worth keeping an eye out on this page as the devs do like to surprise the community.

World of Warcraft mobile MMO game cancelled by Blizzard

Activision Blizzard and NetEase have cancelled a World of Warcraft mobile MMO game after three years in development, according to a Bloomberg report. The project, which was being developed by a team of over 100 people, has now been canned and the studio disbanded. The game was set to follow in the footsteps of Diablo Immortal in bringing one of Blizzard's major IPs to mobile platforms, alongside the Blizzard-developed Arclight Rumble.

Bloomberg reports that the title, codenamed Neptune, was planned to be an MMORPG in the World of Warcraft universe, but was cancelled following disagreements between the two studios. The game would have been set during a different time period than Blizzard's hugely successful ongoing MMO, which is set to receive its latest expansion, WoW Dragonflight, by the end of 2022.

While Diablo Immortal arrived to much backlash from hardcore fans upset by its microtransaction model, the mobile and PC game co-developed between NetEase and Blizzard has proven rather successful. Recent reports indicate that the RPG game has been installed 30 million times after its launch in China and has raised over $100 million USD in mobile player spending alone.

Starfield art in stylized Arabic is straight out of Dune

While we already know a fair bit about the Starfield world, from the various factions to character backgrounds, we're still a little clueless about how the space game will affect our own. There may be sci-fi Starfield languages that we don't know yet, but one fan's Starfield art of a stylised translation of the title into Arabic looks like it's halfway there already.

User MajidAlammari on Reddit posted their concept of the main Starfield logo and poster art as translated into Arabic typography - then heavily adapted to fit the Starfield style. It reads "ستارفيلد", and if you check it out you can see that MajidAlammari got quite creative with it. Rather cleverly, if you look closely you can see that one of the letters is even incorporated into the circle around the RPG game's logo.

Non-native speakers may struggle to make out the seven characters but commenters suggest it's completely readable, despite the simplified characters. It's certainly very cool anyway and looks very sci-fi - almost like something you'd see in Dune.

FFXIV Moonfire Faire 2022 event rewards: new summer glamour

Final Fantasy XIV players after some new summer glamour can look forward to the FFXIV Moonfire Faire 2022 event rewards, which include some casual seasonal fashion along with a new bonfire furnishing for your home. August's celebratory festival for the critically acclaimed MMORPG kicks off in Limsa Lominsa just before Live Letter 72 takes place, and will see players complete quests to earn the new cosmetic items.

Included in this year's Moonfire Faire event rewards are a full set of Summer Sunset clothing, which includes a black and gold headband, a matching loose-fitting open shirt, some knee-length white and blue swim shorts, a pair of ornate, golden wristbands, and some wraparound sandals to complete the look. Also up for grabs is a Summer Bonfire - a rather precarious-looking stack of logs which can be lit up in a roaring blaze to light up the night.

It appears from the preview image that there is some outfit discrepancy between the genders - the male character sports the shorts, while the female Au Ra shown is wearing a simple black bikini bottom instead. Given that an Endwalker patch made more clothing gender neutral in December, we're hopeful that both pieces of gear in question will be made available regardless of your character's gender.

Looking for the best Genshin Impact Tighnari build? The highly anticipated new Genshin Impact character, Tighnari, is the first five-star Dendro character we're likely to see in the Genshin Impact 3.0 update.

As Tighnari wields the Dendro element, he can manipulate nature, using grass and other earthly elements to his advantage in battle. It pairs well with Pyro users, who can already set grass ablaze using their abilities, and the Hydro element to create a Bloom effect, which deals AoE damage after exploding. Dendro can also be used to create elemental reactions with Electro; check out our Genshin Impact Dendro guide on what each reaction does, as this is very important in understanding how to create the best Genshin Impact Tighnari build.

Genshin Impact tier list August 2022: the best characters in 2.8

Looking for a Genshin Impact tier list? There are currently 51 Genshin Impact characters available, so there's no shortage of candidates for your dream team. But with so many different weapon, elementals, talents, ascension bonuses, and constellations upgrades, finding your favourites can be challenging.

Don't let the placement of the characters on our Genshin Impact tier list deter you from pulling on the next character banner. While base stats and elemental abilities are important, the value of a character also depends on personal playstyle, available weapons and artifacts, and team composition. That being said, if your favourite character is in C tier or below, you may struggle to get past some of the more challenging Spiral Abyss floors. Don't worry too much if your favourite character is on one of the lower tiers; you can still make it work with our recommended Genshin Impact builds.

In general, being on a high tier means that the character is the best Genshin Impact character in their role, is not too difficult to build, and performs well regardless of teammates. Being on a lower tier means that there are better alternatives, or the character needs a very specific build or team to shine. Just to note, the characters are not ranked within their own tier, and with that out of the way, let's take a look at our ranking of characters in our Genshin Impact tier list.

Yes, perks are quite a bit more sensible and realistic than you might want from the Saints Row series, but don't fret because Saints Row skills take care of your outlandish needs instead, including the ability to chuck a grenade down the pants of your enemy and yeet them into the horizon. Nintendo Switch has over 100 million annual playing users

Over 100 million users have been playing games on the Nintendo Switch on an annual basis. Nintendo announced the new milestone on the 12th page of its financial presentation for the first quarter of the 2023 fiscal year that ended in June 2022. The company revealed that there were 104 million users who played games on the console between July 2021 and June 2022.

Nintendo calculated the Switch's annual playing users by counting the number of unique Nintendo Accounts that were connected online, consented to provide statistics, and ran at least one game software. It did not include accounts that were only used to access the Nintendo eShop.

This announcement goes in tandem with the ever-increasing lifetime sales amount of the Nintendo Switch. The company had sold over 100 million units as of December 2021, and over 25 million of them came from Japan. Meanwhile, the new presentation's 10th page revealed that Nintendo sold 3.43 million Switch units between April and June 2022. After adding from the previous total of 107.65 million units in March 2022, it has now sold around 111.08 million units of all Switch models combined.

However, Nintendo also noted that it sold fewer Switch units compared to the same quarter in the previous fiscal year, when it sold 4.45 million units. It cited the semiconductor shortage as a reason for the decreased production and sales. The company expects to generate more sales as it will release Splatoon 3 on September 9, 2022, and the Splatoon 3 OLED Switch on August 26, 2022.

The tease is over. D3 Publisher, which recently previewed a new project with a trailer that featured a maiden with a samurai sword, has officially announced its newest project. The aptly titled Samurai Maiden was unveiled alongside a new announcement trailer. The trailer shows off more Samurai Maiden gameplay and sets up its premise.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eqDDcNiffZE

Samurai Maiden puts players in the high school uniform of Tsumugi Tamaori, an ordinary 21st-century girl. Tsumugi is forcibly transported several centuries into the past, waking up in a burning temple. That temple is Honno-ji, the famed temple where Sengoku-era warlord Oda Nobunaga was burned alive. To survive and find a way home, Tsumugi takes up a blade gifted to her by Nobunaga himself, cutting through crowds of supernatural baddies across the underworld.

The game is a fast-paced character action title. Tsumugi slashes at enemies, throwing them around with her blade and performing superhuman sword techniques. Samurai Maiden equips Tsumugi with her own squad, composed of three "Gokage" ninja. Iyo uses an arsenal of shinobi tools, Hagane is equipped with prosthetic weapons, and Komimi uses fearsome jutsu attacks. Tsumugi can call upon the Gokage's abilities to form powerful combos and sweep the battlefield.

The game also has a romantic element. Tsumugi and her Gokage can build their relationships as they barrel through the underworld, unlocking new and powerful techniques. These techniques can be unleashed with a kiss.

Samurai Maiden is in development for PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It's due out in Winter 2022. PS4 owners will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version for free.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land sold over 4 million units

Over 4 million units of Kirby and the Forgotten Land have been sold worldwide. It has also set a new sales record for the entire Kirby series. Nintendo revealed the milestone on the 13th page of the presentation of its financial results for the first quarter of the 2023 fiscal year, which ran from April to June 2022.

The page also compared the sales of Forgotten Land to previous Kirby titles. The 2014 3DS game Kirby Triple Deluxe had over 2 million units sold during its lifetime, while the 2018 Switch entry Kirby Star Allies almost reached 4 million units sold. Forgotten Land set a record in both quantity and speed, as it surpassed all prior entries and hit the 4 million mark in just 15 weeks after its release on March 25, 2022.

Forgotten Land is a new 3D action game where Kirby explores a mysterious world with abandoned buildings while rescuing Waddle Dees. The titular protagonist has a new Mouthful Mode that lets him swallow large objects like a car or a vending machine. The game also supports local co-op multiplayer.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is available worldwide on Nintendo Switch. People who have not bought the game yet can also download and play a demo for free via the Nintendo eShop.

One Piece Film Red crossover coming to Granblue Fantasy and more mobile games

A One Piece Film: Red crossover event will appear in Granblue Fantasy. The collaboration will take place on September 14-25, 2022. Characters from the new movie will make an appearance in the mobile game's collaborative storyline.

Granblue Fantasy will not be the only mobile game to have crossover content from One Piece Film: Red. The movie's website revealed that there will be more collaborations with two more popular Japanese mobile games. The festivities will begin in Monster Strike on August 20-31, 2022, with Puzzle & Dragons following suit on September 1-12, 2022.

Cygames has been adding Granblue Fantasy crossover content from many anime and game titles. In recent months, it held collaborations with Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo in April 2022 and Final Fantasy XI in May 2022. In February 2022, the company announced that the mobile game has over 31 million registered users.

Granblue Fantasy is available in Japanese and English on iOS and Android mobile devices. One Piece Film: Red will release in Japanese theaters on August 6, 2022. Crunchyroll will bring the movie overseas to the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand in Fall 2022.

Logitech G Gaming Handheld

Peripheral maker Logitech and Tencent are hooking up to make some hardware. It's under the aegis of Logitech's gaming-oriented Logitech G branding. It doesn't have a formal name yet, but it's being called the "Logitech G Gaming Handheld" for now.

The companies announced their partnership on August 2, 2022 via press release. According to the announcement, the Logitech G Gaming handheld combines Logitech's hardware expertise and Tencent's software service experience. It's billed as a "cloud gaming handheld".

Cloud gaming is the practice of playing a game via an internet-connected device. The player's device streams inputs to a server, which handles running the actual game, returning feedback via video. Xbox Cloud Gaming, NVIDIA GeForce Now, and the game streaming portions of PlayStation Now (which were folded into PS Plus) are all distinct cloud gaming services. One advantage of cloud gaming is that players need only a compatible device and an internet connection. They won't need expensive consoles or PC hardware to play high-quality games. Square Enix deployed versions of the Kingdom Hearts series to the Nintendo Switch as cloud versions, too. The Logitech G Gaming Handheld will support multiple cloud gaming services.

Beyond the announcement itself, no other details were given about the hardware. Given that it's intended to support multiple cloud gaming services, the final result may be less like a handheld standalone device (like the Switch or Steam Deck) and closer to a specialized smartphone or tablet.

The Logitech G Gaming Handheld is in development.

Harvestella Gameplay Details

Square Enix updated the official website for Harvestella, its upcoming farming and life sim RPG, with new screenshots and gameplay details. In addition to information on the game's farming, fishing, and relationship mechanics, the website features a host of new images depicting Nemea Town, the Town of Spring. Harvestella will release for the PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch in November 2022. [Thanks, Game Spark!]

One of the four main locations that players in visit in Harvestella will be the town of Nemea. Located near the Seaslight of Spring, flowers blossom all year long in the town. The town's questline revolves around a large, mysterious egg that appears on the Seaslight of Spring. There, players can meet characters such as Asyl, and Istina, a teacher of the town's orphanage.

Players can then increase their relationship level with characters through character quests. Improving your relationship with characters can unlock new combat abilities, as well as provide reward items. It's still unclear whether the player character will be able to date other characters.

Furthermore, Square Enix revealed the Skylancer job type, which focuses on wide-sweeping physical wind attacks. It also detailed the game's farming and fishing mechanics. As with most farming RPGs, players will have access to both year-round and seasonal crops. Spring crops will include tomatoes, peaches, a "zucchini-cucumber", and strawberries. Along with fish caught at various fishing points, players can choose to use them in cooking, process them to make more expensive products, or sell them for money.

You can get a better look at the various crops, quests, and gameplay details of Harvestella in the screenshots below:

Meet Your Maker Reveal Trailer Feature ImageBehaviour Interactive, the developer behind Dead By Daylight, had a few surprising announcements today. One of which was the reveal of a new game titled Meet Your Maker. It seems to offer a fairly different experience from Dead By Daylight. Thankfully, the five-minute-long announcement trailer shows off plenty of different features. Meet Your Maker is a first-person shooter at its core, with a post-apocalyptic skin. However, it goes a bit deeper than that. Players are tasked with entering an outpost to raid its contents and avoid nasty traps and enemies. But what sets Meet Your Maker apart from other games like this is that the each level is made by the players.   Outsmart other players Meet Your Maker seems to have a pretty standard approach to first-person gameplay at first glance. In fact, Doom Eternal's bombastic, fast-paced gameplay comes to mind. But beyond that, it looks like Meet Your Maker is going for something more unique, which the reveal trailer shows off nicely...

Crypt Of The Necrodancer Secret Announcement 1Curse of the NecroDancer hit the dance floor with style and panache back in 2015. It quickly flew up the charts, amassing a strong following due to its enthralling core gameplay loop and incredible soundtrack by Danny Baranowsky. The game was a massive success, earning praise from players and those watching from home on Twitch. Developer Brace Yourself Games later followed up with the city builder Industries of Titan. However, it appears the team is preparing something new for the game that put it on the map. Crypt of the NecroDancer is getting a "super-secret announcement" tomorrow in the form of a YouTube livestream. The "secret" announcement is set to begin on August 4 at 1 PM ET. No, I don't have a clue what it'll all be about — but I do have a curious thought. The description in the livestream pave reads: "A super-secret announcement related to the Crypt of the NecroDancer franchise. Stay tuned!" Brace Yourself Games considers ...

Multiversus Battle Pass TiersThe first season for MultiVersus is coming very soon, and with it comes a new battle pass. Priced at 950 Gleamium, or a $9.99 USD, this battle pass looks to follow a similar trajectory to the one introduced in the technical test for the game. MultiVersus is live now for its open beta, and according to steamDB there is over 80,000 players average playing the game at any given time. There has been ample feedback on the battle pass, and many feel that it does not offer enough reward for the amount of time and effort put in. The game director for MultiVersus, Tony Huynh has addressed this concern in a tweet, saying: "I think it's 950 gleamium, but has 50 tiers." So while there is a price increase for the battle pass, it will contain 35 more tiers. Shades of the MultiVersus technical test The technical test for MultiVersus offered a 50 tier battle pass as well, which indicates the team has likely known how much content the battle pass would contain. Season one of MultiVer...

Sonic Triple Trouble remake 16 Bit Tails first levelAlthough quite a few Sonic the Hedgehog games came out during the 1990s, the classic trilogy of Genesis Sonic titles, as well as Sonic CD, tend to receive the most attention from fans. This isn't unwarranted, as those games remain incredibly fun to play and laid the groundwork for the entire series moving forward. But many fans would argue that the Sega Game Gear received some worthwhile Sonic games in their own right, particularly 1994's Sonic the Hedgehog: Triple Trouble. Well, thanks to devoted fan Noah Copeland, you can experience Sonic Triple Trouble in a whole new way. Specifically, Copeland created an ambitious 16-bit fan remake of Sonic Triple Trouble that PC players can download for free. With this remake, Copeland sought to answer this question: "What if Sonic Triple Trouble had been originally released on the Sega Genesis / MegaDrive, after Sonic 3 & Knuckles?" Upon looking at gameplay footage, you can tell that Copeland went all in on rea...
