PCGamesN Thursday, August 4, 2022 6:45 PM  Terraria 1.4.4 update Labor of Love plans to end your corrupted jungle woes forever, with one major quality of life change set to make a huge difference to players of the crafting game. No longer will players have to spend hours carving out their jungle to insulate it against evil, or resort to Terraria mods to rescue biomes otherwise lost to corruption in the co-op game, and it's all thanks to the addition of a new block type. As the Terraria 1.4.4 update release inches ever closer, developer Re-Logic has finally revealed "the thing" that it has been teasing for a while - the introduction of infected mud grass tiles. That may not sound exciting, but veteran Terraria players will be aware of the nightmares caused by evil biomes encroaching upon your jungle tiles. The change, allowing mud tiles to become infected without turning into dirt, makes evil biomes much less of a threat to the long-term health of your jungle. When in hardmode (the latter half of Terraria's world progression), tiles affected by the corruption, crimson, or hallow will slowly spread their infection to nearby blocks. This means that, if left unchecked, the biomes can slowly take over your whole world. While the jungle is immune to the effects of the hallow, it is susceptible to whichever evil biome (corruption or crimson) happens to be present in your world. The record held by Eiichiro Oda's One Piece in Guinness World Records has received an update. The long-running manga series has generated even more copies when compared to the first time it received a world record in December 2014. Hiroyuki Nakano, the editor-in-chief of Weekly Shonen Jump, displayed the new Guinness certificate on the official One Piece staff account on Twitter. It shows that there have been 416,566,000 copies of One Piece books circulated between December 1997 and July 2022. Japanese press releases noted that the number contained in the certificate only counted the number of books published domestically in Japan. The Twitter account added that the manga series has over 500 million copies in print worldwide. That means around 84 million copies have circulated outside Japan. In June 2022, Eiichiro Oda took a month-long hiatus from publishing new chapters. He wanted to recharge and prepare for the final arc of the long-running series. The hiatus did not dampen the popularity of the series, which resumed publication in the July 25, 2022 issue of Shonen Jump. Besides the original manga, the anime and game adaptations of One Piece are also flourishing. The One Piece Film: Red movie will release in Japan on August 6, 2022, and in the West in Fall 2022. Meanwhile, Bandai Namco is working on One Piece Odyssey, an RPG that will appear on the PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2022. The long-teased Hollywood live-action movie adaptation of Root Letter has appeared, and it will launch in American theaters on September 1, 2022. A one-and-a-half-minute-long trailer for the movie is available to watch on YouTube. While the Hollywood movie will change the characters and locations from the Japanese visual novel, the storyline will still be similar. Danny Ramirez will play the role of Carlos, a teenager who used to exchange letters with his distant pen pal Sarah (performed by Keana Marie). The Japanese game publisher initially worked with Akatsuki Entertainment USA to produce the live-action movie. Koch Media is rebranding itself as Plaion, a move it believes will "better portray who we are and the journey we are taking." And maybe it'll also prevent people from erecting any more crude jokes. I sure have, and it made for some chunky gameplay in spots. Thankfully, that may be a thing of the past now. TMNT: Shredder's Revenge got a pretty hefty stability patch, which targets online desync and performance issues, among other changes. The desync fixes coming to TMNT: Shredder's Revenge are likely ones I welcome the most out of the stability patch. I played the game co-op with our own Andrew during the review process, and there were some shaky moments. Overall it was still enjoyable, but desyncs, such as during boss fights, weren't unusual. The patch, however, fixes this by preventing bosses from snapping around after getting hit by the client. Issues that kept the game from detecting Ready players have been addressed as well.
