I don't think I've ever seen art theft quite like this before. Two days ago, a Genshin Impact fanartist was painting a new creation on Twitch.      FIFA 23 skill moves list

FIFA 23 skill moves are an important part of any match in the football game, as they can give your attacking moves an extra dimension, all whilst adding a little bit of flair into the proceedings. Used to beat players off the dribble in order to manufacture chances, or simply to showboat on your opponent, skill moves are a vital part of anyone's arsenal when playing online or against the AI in career mode.

The ideal candidate for performing skill moves would be a player with 5-star skills and high dribbling stats, someone like the POTM Rashford in Ultimate Team. Knowing the button inputs to perform these skill moves is also only half the battle; with the changes to how players accelerate this year, it takes much more experience to know how to get away from your defender.

All Modern Warfare 2 killstreaks, scorestreaks, and unlock tiers

The Modern Warfare 2 killstreaks are a pretty standard affair, with nothing too surprising to come and throw you off. If you've played any Call of Duty multiplayer games before, you'll likely be familiar with what's to follow. Still, it helps to know what to expect from the progression rewards in the FPS game, and if this is your first foray into the franchise, then we've got all the information you need on these useful support bonuses and how to trigger them.

Call of Duty killstreaks are tactical support items that can only be called in once you reach a certain number of kills without dying. Killstreaks can now be changed to scorestreaks as well, rewarded when you earn a certain number of points between deaths instead. This is beneficial in certain modes in which you earn points for completing objectives - especially good if your kill-to-death ratio isn't always top notch. The rewards themselves, though, remain the same. Thanks to the beta, we already know all of the Modern Warfare 2 killstreaks, and where they are earned in progression rewards.

Since the Gotham Knights release date is almost here, you may want answers on whether or not multiplayer is possible because you're on a different platform to your friend.

More games in recent years have bridged the device gap, allowing anyone to play with everyone. Sometimes there are good reasons for this, as getting these machines to talk to each other can be too tricky.

All Modern Warfare 2 game modes in multiplayer

The Modern Warfare 2 game modes in multiplayer include some familiar faces, plus a third person perspective which harks back to the 2009 game of the same name. With the Modern Warfare 2 release date not far off, there are a bunch of returning game modes including series staples Team Deathmatch, Hardpoint, Search and Destroy, and Domination.

Ground War features larger maps known as Battle Maps, suitable for 32v32 players, where each building and area can be explored, and vehicles populate the open areas. Third-person also makes a return, despite not being hugely popular the first time around. The difference this time is that when you aim down the sights with any gun, it switches to the standard FPS game style. Here are the details on the three brand new multiplayer modes for Modern Warfare 2, along with a list of all confirmed modes, although do keep in mind this doesn't include the previously announced DMZ mode as that won't be arriving until the Warzone 2 release date.

The best Valorant crosshairs and codes

So you want to know about Valorant crosshair codes? Many multiplayer games like to come up with ways for players to show allegiance to their favourite team. For example, Rainbow Six Siege has charms; Valorant has gun buddys, but it also has custom crosshairs.

With a complex-looking string of numbers, letters, and symbols, you can change your in-game sights to match players from your favourite esports teams such as DRX, Fnatic, or The Guard. This feature is relatively recent, with the official Valorant Twitter account posting about it with some initial Valorant crosshair codes in March 2022 - more codes have been shared across other platforms since.

We've collected codes for all of the big teams all in one place, so you don't have to go hunting around too much in order to equip your favourite Valorant characters with your chosen sight.

The Ryzen 7 5800X was a great gaming CPU when it launched in 2020, and it remains one of the fastest options going despite the recent release of Ryzen 7000 processors late last month. The 5800X also has two major advantages: it works on a wide range of cheap motherboards with DDR4 RAM, and it's way cheaper than the 7700X - especially when it's discounted on Ebay US, as is the case today!

So: let's cut to the chase. The 5800X is down to $229.99 at Ebay, from a list price of $449, meaning it's nearly 50% off. That also makes it $170 cheaper than the equivalent Ryzen 7000 processor, the $400 eight-core Ryzen 7700X. Or, to put it another way, you're paying around 60% of the price for at least 80% of the gaming performance of that newer CPU - not bad, given that you'll also pay way less for a complete Ryzen 5000 system (with AM4 motherboards and DDR4) than a complete Ryzen 7000 one (with AM5 motherboards and DDR5).

Detective games are often about filling in the blanks. A terrible crime will sit at the heart of them, yes, but most take place in the days and weeks that follow, where the bulk of your time is spent gathering clues and building a case to work out whodunnit. Rarely do you get to glimpse the immediate aftermath of the crime itself, where all the major suspects are still in play and their pockets are stuffed with incriminating evidence they'll no doubt be disposing of in the coming minutes.

The prime exception to this rule is Lucas Pope's Return Of The Obra Dinn, which gives you a time-travelling pocket watch to revisit the scenes of its many, many murders and work out exactly what happened to its 60-strong passenger list on its titular, ill-fated ship. Frogwares' Sherlock Holmes games and their mind palace visualisation techniques also warrant a mention here, and maybe even Outer Wilds at a push, if you count its 22-minute timeloop as an investigation scene several millennia in the making. But it's Obra Dinn that Color Gray Games emulate most strongly with their impressive debut in The Case Of The Golden Idol, which gives you a series of 12 murders to solve, each of which is presented as a freeze-frame vignette at the moment of death. You're still filling in blanks here, slotting names, objects and eventually verbs in its various scene scrolls to deduce whodunnit and howtheydunit, but this intriguing tale of 18th century high (and a secret) society, betrayals, backstabbing and murder most foul is a mystery game for the ages.

PS Plus Game Catalog October 2022

If you're paying a bit more than usual for your PS Plus subscription, I hope you're into Dragon Quest. This month's offerings from Sony are led by Japan's most iconic JRPG franchise, with no less than five full Dragon Quest games available. And if you're not into Dragon Quest, I also hope you're into Assassin's Creed. Ubisoft's sprawling series of open-world action-adventures helps bulk up the PS Plus Game Catalog for October 2022.

As a reminder, the Game Catalog is the lineup of downloadable games available to PS Plus Extra and Premium subscribers that goes live midway through each month. Those at the basic Essential tier can already claim their free games, which include Injustice 2, Hot Wheels Unleashed, and SUPERHOT.

Dragon Quest XI S: Echoes of an Elusive Age headlines the PS Plus Game Catalog October 2022 lineup. It's the "definitive edition" of Dragon Quest XI, and puts players on the path to heroism as The Luminary, a chosen one in the new world of Erdrea. Other Dragon Quest titles on offer include both Dragon Quest Builders games. The Builders titles blend familiar Dragon Quest looks, environments, and storytelling with a block-based construction and resource-gathering gameplay style. Players will need to explore a sandbox world and use their powers of creation to build their way to prosperity. Lastly, both Dragon Quest Heroes games fill the action quota for the batch. Developed by Dynasty Warriors luminaries at Omega Force, the Dragon Quest Heroes titles bring mass brawling to the fray.

The already-numerous Assassin's Creed titles on the PS Plus Game Catalog are bolstered even further this month, with the addition of the Assassin's Creed Chronicles trilogy (China, India, and Russia), Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Assassin's Creed III Remastered, and Assassin's Creed Syndicate. Combined with July's slate, that puts the majority of the existing Assassin's Creed franchise at the fingertips of PS Plus Extra subscribers and above. Notably, some of the games, like Assassin's Creed Syndicate, are marked exclusive to PS4, meaning they're not actually playable by users attempting to play them through a PS5. Early in the PS5's launch period, Sony pointed out that Assassin's Creed Syndicate was not "backwards compatible" with the PS5 due to technical issues.

There are games for those not into singular franchises, though. Inside and The Medium bring in a touch of horror, while Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker brings some ninja magic. Lastly, Hohokum and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City add whimsy and color, albeit from opposite ends of the ethical spectrum.

Finally, PS Plus Premium tier subscribers see three remastered Yakuza titles, Limbo, and more added to the Classics archive, available via streaming.

Check out the full PS Plus Game Catalog list for October 2022 below.

The list is organized from the lowest subscriber tier to the highest. Higher-tier subscribers get access to everything included in the lower tiers as well. These offerings are for North American PS Plus accounts, and other regional subscriptions may differ.

Steam Mobile

The Steam mobile app has been getting a bit long in the tooth, and it looks like even Valve noticed. The company has revamped Steam Mobile with new features and an updated interface for buying and managing Steam games. The update also includes better account management features.

Check out the brief trailer Valve released to get customers up to speed.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YhYPGltHyI

Though Steam Mobile got the bulk of the major changes, Valve also did work across the whole Steam app ecosystem, including Steam Chat, its social app, and Steam Link, its remote play app. The work ensures greater account security and compatibility with new sign-in methods. One headline addition is QR Code Sign-in: App users can now log into their Steam accounts by using their smartphone or device camera to scan a QR code displayed by the Steam Desktop app. It's a similar process to the QR Code Login used by chat app Discord and others. Previously, users needed to type in their password. If they had Steam Guard (Valve's two-factor authentication method) enabled, they'd also type in a code generated by Steam Mobile. The app also supports authorization prompts, allowing users to tap a simple "Approve" or "Deny" button when a device attempts to log into a connected Steam account.

The Steam Mobile app also features an updated interface, making browsing the store and buying games easier on mobile screens. Users can even manage game downloads from the app, ordering their computer to download a Steam game remotely. Those who want to customize their experience can now use tabs to do that, too.

The Steam Mobile app is updated on iOS and Android devices. Valve is working on bringing some of the new features to both the Steam Desktop Client and Steam's browser version. The Steam Deck will receive QR sign-in eventually as well.

valkyrie elysium header

Soleil Inc. pulled off a bold move when developing Valkyrie Elysium as an action RPG instead of the turn-based RPG previous Valkyrie games were. Unfortunately, this gamble did not pay off. Playing the release build on a PS4, I found that Valkyrie Elysium suffers in virtually all areas you can think of -- from the story to the combat to the visuals. While it still has the unique Norse mythological elements that makes the Valkyrie Profile series stand out, it lacks the previous games' charm. As an aside, the accessibility of this game is pretty bad. Prepare for eye strain when you play.

[caption id="attachment_937160" align="aligncenter" width="768"] This is what almost every battle looks like. Challenge time! Where's Valkyrie?[/caption]

The plot of Valkyrie Elysium follows the eponymous Valkyrie on a mission to purify souls in Midgard. This is to stave off the effects of Ragnarok for Odin's benefit. There is more to the story, but what's there is nothing groundbreaking. Like other Valkyrie Profile games, Valkyrie meets various Einherjar and forges contracts with them. The plot is pretty standard and every twist is predictable even with minimal foreshadowing. Valkyrie's character development has very odd pacing, and her relationships do not feel organic. I had a bad feeling when the game started with a long plot-less tutorial. After I started the story, the game taught me everything again. What was the point of those first, lost minutes?

Unlike previous Valkyrie Profile games, you do not have a huge host of Einherjar to collect and use. You only have four, even though the Valhalla hub world looks big enough for way more. Their interactions with each other are fun until Valkyrie shows up, and then it's all back to business. The only reason Cypher stands out is because Akira Ishida delivers his lines more flamboyantly than the others in Japanese. I had thought that with fewer Einherjar to share the spotlight, Valkyrie Elysium would try to emphasize deeper or more engaging stories over having more of them. But their quests do not really give them much more depth because they are so short. Even their gameplay-related benefits, unlockable skills, don't make a huge difference in combat.

[gallery ids="937157,937158,937159" link="file"]

The combat also fell short for me. I consider myself to be a patient gamer, but I was ready to throw in the towel within the first hour. Playing on the PS4, Valkyrie's movements feel very slow and it almost feels unfair how many times enemies can strike you from the blind spot that locking onto an enemy will create. It feels like you have train your sixth eye to figure out your location and what is happening, because half the time, foliage or enemies will block your view of Valkyrie. Dodging and parrying have a very severe timing, but you barely get a major advantage for pulling it off. It is excessively irritating to see an attack coming but you can't cancel Valkyrie's combo, so she gets hit and loses a huge chunk of HP. The description for the game says it has "speedy, three-dimensional combat." It did not feel that way.

Battles can be surprisingly satisfying when in an open field with no foliage and up to three enemies. If you miss any one of those conditions, combat is a drag. But even under these ideal circumstances, the issues with the camera and Valkyrie's animation locks persist. Every wonky camera movement or unexpected attack ate at my tolerance threshold. But once you reconfigure the camera to your liking and get more used to the timing of Valkyrie's combos, the combat goes a lot smoother. It never quite becomes enjoyable, though, since the whole combat system lacks real depth and feels slow. It just becomes less frustrating.

combat
So, the story is not the selling point and the combat needs work. What about the look of the game? Well, it looks outdated. The particle effects of combat lag on the PS4, which makes me think they optimized it for next-gen consoles. Aesthetically, the thick black outlines on all the objects are way too thick, for one thing. They overcompensated on making the characters stand out when they're in a dark room. The physics for Valkyrie's hair don't play well with her shoulders in cutscenes, either. Like the Einherjar, there is only small handful of maps you explore. And also like the Einherjar, they're all of them are dull, with too few variations when they're reused for the chapters.

[gallery ids="937162,937163,937164" link="file"]

Valkyrie Elysium had potential, but is bogged down by its attempt to execute on its new ideas. Much in it feels like it needed more thinking through. Some mechanics are straight up unnecessary, while others need more tuning to become memorable. The Soul Chain gives a sense of speed and movement the combat desperately needs, but  a smarter implementation would've avoided making the mechanic a recipe for disaster over water. The huge and empty hub world feels like it should be teeming with your otherworldly army of Einherjar, but the handful you get make that grand space feel that much lonelier. The combat implies fast-paced action elegancy, but Valkyrie's slow movements and inability to take hits drain the fights of their dynamism. With a surface-level story, draining combat system, and unoptimized visuals, this game just doesn't feel ready to take up the Valkyrie franchise's mantle. Valkyries should choose the slain, not slay themselves.

Valkyrie Elysium is available for the PS4 and PS5. A Windows PC version will come out on November 11, 2022. This review is based on a PS4 version code provided by the publisher.

Kingdom Hearts Cartoon

Despite the involvement of many well-known Disney characters in the Kingdom Hearts series over the years, Square Enix and Disney have kept the relationship between the two franchises relatively distant. Kingdom Hearts characters tend not to appear in Disney parks, for example, outside of the rare costumed appearance. But there was once a time when Disney itself intended to more directly involve Sora and other Kingdom Hearts characters in its media empire. Animator Seth Kearsley has revealed an animatic sequence once meant as a pilot for a Disney-produced Kingdom Hearts cartoon.

Check out the Kingdom Hearts cartoon animatic below. An "animatic" is essentially a "concept art" stage for animated and live-action productions. It's typically made to give production staff a rough look at how a given sequence will flow when in motion. Animatics are often created by shooting storyboard frames in sequence and setting the result to music or dialog readings. More modern productions sometimes use rough CGI animation or placeholder models and preexisting assets.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Iyg6gQZFhc

The 11-minute pilot takes place in medias res, plotted as if it were an episode taking place somewhere after the series had already begun. It uses narration by Jiminy Cricket to lay out the basic premise of Kingdom Hearts, as well as recapping briefly its interpretation of Sora, Riku, and Kairi's relationship. In the Kingdom Hearts cartoon, Sora would be traveling the universe searching for his lost friends, while Riku would be stuck cooperating with Maleficent for the same reason. Meanwhile, Donald and Goofy would be acting as guides and mentors for the young traveler, as they're tasked with finding a prophesized hero to beat back an invasion by the Heartless. The trailer shows a rough synopsis of Sora, Goofy, and Donald's adventure in Agrabah.

Kearsley, who worked as Executive Producer on the project, found a VHS recording of the animatic late last month. It was originally produced in 2003 to pitch the Kingdom Hearts cartoon to executives at Disney and Square Enix. Though the project was initially greenlit sometime in 2002 (after the launch of the first game on PS2), it was eventually scrapped.

In a video on his YouTube channel, Kearsley explained his motivation for sharing the content despite not speaking much about it for nearly 20 years. In addition, he showed off more production materials that had been almost never seen publicly. One interesting point of trivia: Actor Haley Joel Osment wasn't available to voice Sora due to scheduling commitments, though much of the game's voice cast did reprise their roles.

Though the Kingdom Hearts cartoon was canceled before it could be produced, the games are available on various platforms. Kingdom Hearts 4 is also in development.

Snowrunner Season 8 Grand Harvest Ofc1The world of SnowRunner expands ever more with the arrival of Season 8. This new release brings with it a new expansion, three new vehicles, and more. Dubbed "Grand Harvest," this latest season of the off-road driving sim will have you bringing the failing farms of a countryside settlement back to life. With Season 8, SnowRunner now attains its second big expansion so far. Grand Harvest is a return to form of sorts, taking the series back to the rural, rugged areas. There are four "massive" maps laden in the summertime heat. Your task is to bring the farming infrastructure back up to par so the surrounding fields can finally start yielding some crops. What makes this new season so interesting is that, rather than just simply restoring the rundown infrastructure, players will actually get down into the grime and put in some field hours themselves.   New gameplay features such as sowing seeds, plowing fields, and more are all a part of this new content pack...

Sonic Frontiers combat trailer Ares Island energy spheresThe public reception to the pre-release material of Sonic Frontiers has improved quite a bit in recent months. Although there still exists certain aspects that warrant concern, fans generally feel much more optimistic about the game now than they did when the initial gameplay demonstrations surfaced in June. This sentiment extends to the combat, which Sega showed more of in a new trailer uploaded this morning. The trailer explains many of the combat features we have heard about in recent months in a bit more depth, so those who see the combat as one of the more promising aspects of Sonic Frontiers will definitely want to watch it. The trailer provides an official look into the game's skill tree system, which we already saw glimpses of in a few images that have surfaced online. One of the skill tree abilities shown off goes by the name Phantom Rush, and it comes in the form of a meter that Sonic can build through landing combos. Once the meter fills up completely, Sonic'...

Elden Ring Malenia 1.0Japanese developer FromSoftware has made a name for itself by creating punishing but rewarding RPGs, and Elden Ring is arguably the studio's finest work to date. Since its release earlier this year, it has had numerous updates that have changed how weapons, side quests, and other features work. Now, it appears that a ray tracing update to Elden Ring could be on the way. Looking into the underlying code of a game has become a common method of unearthing new information, and a prominent figure in this area is Lance McDonald. McDonald believes to have found "menu strings related to ray tracing features," in Elden Ring's code after the latest 1.07 update. He provided some screenshots as evidence, which contained text that could be potential menu settings for a ray tracing mode in the future. One such phrase was: "Will lock performance settings to prioritize quality."   There's more where that came from The addition of ray tracing to the Lands Between could add a subs...
