Dragon Quest X Offline Release Date Set

We finally have a Dragon Quest X Offline release date for Japan. Square Enix confirmed that version of the game will come to the Switch, PS4, PS5, and PC on September 15, 2022. It also confirmed its The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally Offline expansion will show up in Spring 2023. [Thanks, Gematsu and Game Watch!]

This news comes after multiple delays. Initially, Square Enix said the Dragon Quest X Offline release date would be February 26, 2022. However, that was pushed back in December 2021. At the time, Producer Takuma Shiraishi cited quality concerns. Shiraishi noted a desire for the offline version of the game to appear in "perfect condition."

At the time, the new release window was Summer 2022. Given that the season ends on September 22, 2022, it will just be making the cut-off.

In Japan, Dragon Quest X Offline will appear both digitally and physically. The deluxe edition of the game will include the The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally Offline with it, as well as some other items.

The new Dragon Quest X Offline release date is September 15, 2022. It will show up on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC in Japan. There's no word regarding a worldwide release for it yet.

Final Fantasy XIV Myths of the Realm Soundtrack

Square Enix will release the Final Fantasy XIV Myths of the Realm raid soundtrack on June 22, 2022. Composer and Sound Director Masayoshi Soken revealed that he had been working on putting together the soundtrack behind the scenes. However, he did not disclose which tracks from the raid will appear on the EP. A link to the Apple iTunes store was provided through the announcement Tweet.

[embed]https://twitter.com/SOKENsquareenix/status/1539264123866710016[/embed]

The Myths of the Realm raid in Final Fantasy XIV centers on the mythology surrounding The Twelve, the major deities of Eorzea. The first series of the raid appeared in Final Fantasy XIV Patch 6.1, and featured boss fights against several of these figures. Each of the arenas reflect the iconography of the deities, and have provided a glimpse into how these figures actually appear.

More content concerning the Myths of the Realm raid will appear in the future through subsequent updates, like previous raid content. However, unlike the Final Fantasy Tactics and NieR: Automata raids, this content is completely original. Meaning that the story for this raid content has been made with the greater world of Eorzea in mind.

Final Fantasy XIV is immediately available on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC.

Fate Grand Order Seraph

As the English edition of Fate/Grand Order closes in on its 5th Anniversary, Lasengle and Aniplex are finding ways to help players fill the time as they wait for the celebration to kick off. One of those ways is a new Main Interlude addition called The SERAPH event. Formally titled Abyssal Cyber Paradise, SE.RA.PH, the Fate/Grand Order SERAPH event is now part of the game's Main Interlude feature. That means any player, old or new, is free to replay its story portion and receive its unique reward, which is a 4-Star Mooncancer-class Servant BB.

Main Interludes are a way for FGO players to experience events that have already had a rerun and are thus removed from the game's content schedule. For English-language players of Fate/Grand Order, SERAPH landed first in 2019, and had its rerun in 2021. Without the Main Interlude, players who started playing after February 2021 would never have a chance to acquire BB or see the event storyline. The Main Interlude version of SERAPH is a stripped-down version of the original event. Things like free quests and the event reward shop aren't available, and some of the event's mechanics have been simplified. However, players can still receive BB as a playable Servant if they haven't done so before. Players who didn't finish the event will even have their progress carried over, so they can continue and experience the entire story.

To celebrate the addition, Aniplex is making the Main Interlude version of SERAPH playable to any Fate/Grand Order player that's completed the Part 1 main story campaign. This "special release period" lasts until June 27, 2022, after which the Main Interlude will become unlockable using Rare Prisms. Rare Prisms are gained whenever a player discards a 4-Star or 5-Star Servant, receives the 6th copy of a free event Servant (i.e. during a rerun), or from special campaign rewards.

The update also added Rank Up quests for three Servants connected to Fate/Extra CCC, the Fate subseries that served as SERAPH's source material. The Servants Kingprotea, Meltryllis, and Suzuka Gozen can all have some of their skills upgraded by completing these quests. And for players without them, a special summoning banner has the three Servants, plus the 4-Star Alterego Passionlip on rate up until July 4, 2022.

Fate/Grand Order is available on iOS and Android devices.

There are certain otome games in which the romance is absolutely there, but might not always feel like the main focus. For example, Hakuoki is absolutely romantic, but it also a thriller offering an alternate, supernatural take on the Shinsengumi and Bakumatsu period. Birushana: Rising Flower of Genpei feels similar, due to it being a Heian period piece offering its own alternate take on the events after the Heiji rebellion. There are battles! Its heroine, posing as a man and last member of the Genji, is an incredible warrior! It can absolutely get romantic in routes. It's just that the action and drama can feel just as important.

Rumor has it Yoshitsune Minamoto, the youngest member of the Genji clan, is around and still ready and willing to face the Heike and Taira. And it is true. That individual does exist, training alongside Shungen at Kurama Temple. However, rather than a man, this heir is a woman. She's also about to step into her destiny. That can mean traveling alongside her vassal Benkei Musashibo and dealing with her Heike enemies Tomomori Taira and Noritsune Taira. Depending on the choices someone makes, she might find a happy ending or more violent, tragic ones.

Yoritomo

Birushana is an otome visual novel. As usual, this means lots of text and reading as you go through. The localization feels like it is handled pretty well. The story is interesting. I noticed a few errors made it through the editing process. (For example, you may come across a "you're" instead of a "your.") But I really appreciate how approachable it makes the conflicts. It does so in the same way as Hakuoki did, which is encouraging.

It is also surprisingly complex! There are a number of things being taken into account when you make choices. Choices you make can influence Shanao's stats and her relationships with different characters. The decisions in the introductory shared route determine who you split off with for the larger story. Decisions you make can also increase her strength, knowledge, or kindness instead of bring her closer to another character.

Benkei

While Birushana features the systems you'd expect to track such things, like a flowchart, glossary, and log, there are two additional elements that help keep things clear. Different effects appear after making choices. So throughout the story, red means Shanao got stronger. Blue means she's become more intelligent. Green is connected to kindness. But before that, a Love Catch system is in play. When enabled, as it is optional and on by default, flowers will appear in the common route. Five appear, each in the same shade connected to one of the love interests. When you make a choice, multiple flowers can "bloom" to show you're inching closer to someone's route. The bigger the blossom, the bigger the increase. Considering there's a branch at one point in the common route that locks you out of certain characters depending on the choice, it helps a lot!

As I mentioned before, I suggested how active and dynamic Birushana is for an otome. It's handled very well! Shanao, as a member of the Genji and trained warrior, ends up getting involved in conflicts. She also has an incredible sort of strength that can come up multiple times throughout the tale. I really appreciated how this meant her and her love interests had different portraits so we see them both in relaxed and while in battle. It means things feel more thrilling when we're reading about a conflict, because we'll see more aggressive poses from cast members as they fight foes or each other.

Review Birushana is an Active and Dynamic Otome 4

Also, Birushana feels like a really huge otome game. You have the happy and tragic endings for all five of the main love interests. Which is fairly typical and expected. Then, there are some additional supplemental characters who appear as "if" endings. For example, Shigehira can appear prominently in stories like Tomomori. But he's not a main bachelor. You would need to unlock his "if" smaller storyline. There's a lot to it, which is nice. It offers opportunities to get invested.

I'm genuinely impressed with Birushana: Rising Flower of Genpei. It presents an intriguing take on historical events in an easily digestible way. It presents players with love interests who are interesting both due to their backgrounds and nature as warriors, as well as romantic partners. Shanao is a strong heroine. It looks great. Not to mention with the "if" routes, it ends up feeling even fuller. It's another great Switch otome game.

Birushana: Rising Flower of Genpei will come to the Nintendo Switch on June 28, 2022.

Treasure anniversary Ikaruga max chainThose who enjoy high-octane, challenging action games may remember the developer Treasure. Formed back in 1992 by Masato Maegawa, a former Konami employee, Treasure made itself known for games like Gunstar Heroes, Ikaruga, and Sin and Punishment. All served as incredibly imaginative action titles with a whole host of wacky ideas. But after 2014, the studio appeared to stop developing new projects entirely, instead opting to re-release its classic titles on modern platforms and gaming collections. Now that Treasure has reached its 30th anniversary, however, it seems that the studio aims to reverse this trend, as it has announced the development of an unknown gaming project. Treasure made this announcement on its official Twitter account. Although the studio did not reveal any information regarding what this new game will look or play like, it did say that fans have "highly requested" the project. This will naturally lead to plenty of speculation among fans, who may suspec...

Wow Dragonflight Release World Of WarcraftSince its launch in 2004, the ever-famous MMORPG World of Warcraft has received a new expansion roughly every two years. The last one, Shadowlands, launched for the game in November of 2020. Naturally, this should lead most fans to believe that the next expansion, Dragonflight, will release for WoW this year. Apparently, Blizzard also believes this to be true. In a store listing for the expansion, it's mentioned that Dragonflight should arrive "on or before December 31, 2022." This isn't an official announcement, mind. And there's a good chance Blizzard may change this. Generally, a release date of "December 31" is accepted as a placeholder, and not a promise. Still, saying that the game will come out "before" that time does lead us to believe we'll see Dragonflight soon — likely during the winter. Shadowlands did drop in November, after all.   Obviously, this bit of release info was only revealed as Blizzard was de...

Far Cry 5 Pc Game Pass June 2022 FeatPossibly due to the hustle and madness of the 'non-E3' showcases, Microsoft is a bit delayed on announcing the next slate of games coming to Game Pass. And that may just explain the arguably less impressive offerings too. Microsoft has revealed that Far Cry 5 is the next Ubisoft game to hit PC Game Pass on July 1. But after the news that Hollow Knight: Silksong and Riot Games titles are on the way, perhaps I'm not as enthused for Naraka: Bladepoint as others may be. Regardless, that is the beauty of Game Pass. If you want to play the games, you can. Otherwise, there are plenty of other options available.   PC Game Pass titles for June 2022 gets started with Total War: Three Kingdoms. In a developer preview today, the Phasmophobia team unveiled its plan for an updated in-game shop and shed some light on the new asylum map.      Ark Fjordhawk: spawn locations and how to tame

Curious about what exactly an Ark Fjordhawk can do for you? As the name suggests, the Fjordhawk is a tameable creature native to Fjordur, the region featured in the free expansion of the same name. There are plenty of Ark dinos to tame across Fjordur, including the Andrewsarchus with a mounted turret upon its back, but few will grant you the level of utility that a Fjordhawk can provide.

Once tamed, an Ark Fjordhawk becomes a shoulder pet that will retrieve your inventory for you when you die. Never again will you have to worry about running back to your corpse to collect your dropped items, making the Fjordhawk invaluable for a survival game where hours of gameplay can hinge on stuffing your satchel with as many materials as you can find. It will also mark lost satchels and wounded or dead creatures in the environment, which is helpful for both item collection and taming.

Neon White system requirements – speedrun with low specs

Neon White system requirements won't stop you from speedrunning the afterlife, and they're unlikely to send your gaming PC to the grave. The FPS game features vibrant visuals and fast-paced demon-slaying shenanigans, but you won't need the best graphics card to enter the gates of heaven.

According to Angel Matrix's Neon White system requirements, you don't even need a GTX card to run the game, as it'll work on an Nvidia GeForce GTS 450 – a card that dates back to 2010. If you'd rather boost fps and play with higher settings enabled, the developer recommends using either a GTX 750 Ti or an AMD Radeon HD 7850, both of which pack 2GB VRAM.

In terms of memory, you'll only need 6GB to meet Neon White's gaming RAM requirements. You'll also only need to free up 6GB on your SSD or hard drive, which might be a blessing if you've got chonky shooters like Call of Duty: Warzone clogging up your storage.

Fortnite new map – Chapter 3 Season 3

Want to know about the new Fortnite map for Chapter 3 Season 3? With Doctor Slone and her Imagined Order seemingly banished from the island, it's time to celebrate in style. A new festival area, complete with a theme park built on the remains of IO's headquarters is now available for you to explore.

Meanwhile, there have been plenty of Fortnite map changes to keep track of for Chapter 3 Season 3, not to mention new Star Wars-themed Fortnite skins and the ability to ride Fornite animals for the first time. The Fortnite developers at Epic Games aren't afraid to change the map between seasons, so we've put together a guide to all of the major changes you need to take into account if you're looking to come out on top in the popular battle royale game.

So, pull up a chair and grab your best map-reading glasses; here's your handy guide to the new Fortnite map for the latest season. Just what are those new red and blue lines about, anyway?

Fortnite Darth Vader boss location and how to get his lightsaber

Want to know where the Fortnite Darth Vader boss location is? The latest update for the long-running battle royale game brings a new area to the Fortnite map, rebalanced weapons and vehicles, along with new quests. However, it's the Sith Lord's appearance on the island that most people will be talking about; at least, he's supposed to be Vader, though he could be an NPC wearing a convincing Darth Vader Fortnite skin.

Either way, if you fancy trying to eliminate this Fortnite Darth Vader wannabe, we recommend you team up with at least one other person. One person should focus on taking down the Stormtroopers, while everyone else in your squad should shoot at Darth Vader. You'll need to face him at some point anyway because you need to wield a Star Wars weapon to complete one of the Vibin' challenges - and the Darth Vader lightsaber is certainly the best option. To give you a fighting chance, we'll go over where to find the Darth Vader location and how to beat him below.

Total Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires map is twice as big as the last

It's been quite the wait for Total War: Warhammer 3's hotly anticipated Immortal Empires mode, which is set to stitch together the landmasses of all three Total Warhammer strategy games into one giant sandbox. Now Creative Assembly has drawn back the veil on the complete map, and it's large enough to require the addition of new sea lanes that allow armies to sail back and forth between its eastern- and westernmost edges.

Stretching from the Ironfrost Glacier in the northwest corner down to the Jade Sea in the southeast, the Immortal Empires sandbox map includes a whopping 554 settlements and 278 starting factions. Creative Assembly says it's the biggest map that any Total War game has ever had, weighing in at nearly twice the size of the Mortal Empires map that combined the areas of Total War: Warhammer and Total War: Warhammer II.

How to complete Fortnite Nindo challenges and earn Naruto rewards

Want to know how to complete the Fortnite Nindo challenges? In addition to Darth Vader's appearance on the island as part of the battle royale game's latest update, a new website has gone live with a list of challenges to complete. You can get some cool Naruto-themed rewards by catching fish, surviving storm circles, and eliminating opponents.

To start the Fortnite Nindo challenges, go to the official Fortnite Nindo website and sign in with your Epic account. It should automatically enrol you into the challenge page, and you can track your progress by clicking the Check My Stats button. However, while all the information is on the website, its presentation is a bit confusing. Important information, such as which game modes are eligible for getting each badge, isn't as easy to find as you might think.

Street Fighter 6 release date speculation, leaks, and more

Want to learn more about the Street Fighter 6 release date? We've known it exists for some time now,, but we finally had a chance to look at some Street Fighter 6 gameplay at Sony's State of Play event. Street Fighter 5 was heavily criticised at launch for its lack of playable content outside of Versus mode and while this satisfied most high level players, casual players found there was very little to keep them entertained.

Capcom has taken its time developing Street Fighter 6 to ensure they don't repeat the same mistakes again. It features a brand new single player story mode which gives players a chance to explore Metro City as a custom fighter. The Street Fighter 6 release date isn't set to launch until next year at the earliest, but it's clear the fighting game is in a good place at this point in development.

Classic Fortnite map POIs are 'infecting' Season 3

The new Fortnite update for Chapter 3 Season 3 is live and it features a number of cool changes, including the second season of Naruto skins, a Fireworks Gun, Darth Vader - and the next step in the story, as classic Fortnite map locations have started 'infecting' the map, thanks to the spread of the Reality Tree.

As initially spotted on Twitter by user Nanxss, areas of the current map are warping into variations from Fortnite Chapter 1 and 2. Logjam Lumberyard in the northwest seems the most affected right now, as players report that it actually changes themes every game - with styles ranging from Roman, Atlantean, Western, and Pirate just warping in, such as the pirate ship from Lazy Lagoon in Chapter 1 Season 8. Tilted Towers also appears to be undergoing a renovation.

This appears to be caused by the giant Reality Tree to the west of the map, as its roots and saplings continue to spread and are apparently warping reality. Expect it to start infecting other areas of the map very soon.

It's a special day for fans of one of the best battle royale games on PC, as the long-awaited Fall Guys free-to-play version launches at last - but only on the Epic Games Store. Now, developer Mediatonic wants to reassure fans that Fall Guys Steam support will continue - but the Steam version itself is now gone from the storefront.

In May, Mediatonic confirmed the long-suspected news that its colourful multiplayer game would become a proper free-to-play game on June 21, which is now imminent. However, a few questions remained regarding Fall Guys on Steam, which have lingered since Mediatonic was purchased by Epic in March 2021.

In a new post on the Fall Guys Steam page, Mediatonic confirms that the Steam version will "continue to receive full support and all the tasty updates that land on other platforms, including crossplay and cross-progression support" - the latter of which Epic just added support for. However, the Steam version will not go free-to-play and has now been pulled from sale altogether.

Since The Cycle: Frontier is having its second (???) launch tomorrow, June 22nd, I thought I'd knock together a performance and settings guide to mark the occasion. This would involve, as they always do, a bunch of benchmark tests: repeatable runs through a specific area or sequence that would give an accurate indication of how different settings and hardware affect performance. In most games these are either quick and easy or time-consuming and easy, but not The Cycle: Frontier. Oh no.

See, without a dedicated benchmarking tool, running these kinds of tests requires a certain controllable environment, where variables are known and parameters can be reset in a click. This is not the case for The Cycle: Frontier, whose environment is usually trying to fucking kill you, particularly though the unavoidable presence of other players. I've never sat down to record some average FPS values only to spend half my time cowering behind a tree, fearful of being shot, robbed and – worst of all – forced to start work over again.

So, you went and flubbed a Reservoir Dogs type of deal, and now you're a dead'un. Those demons become your problem when god decides to give you a chance to earn your place in Heaven by committing murder - stylish, speedrunning, parkouring demon murder. It's perdition with extra steps, then, but is it any fun? Dear reader, Neon White kicks ass.

The game opens with an extremely anime narrative sequence and we're introduced to the lovable (and less so) doofuses we'll be shooting up paradise with. This is where most folks will stop and squee at the fact that player character Neon White is voiced by the incomparable Steve Blum, perhaps known best for his role as sonorous space cowboy Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop. White is joined by his fellow demon-slaying Neons including Yellow (best boy), Violet (sucks), Red (mysterious), and Green (bad guy).

Last week Intel published a "quick start guide" for their upcoming Arc A-series graphics cards, including a "Supported Hardware Configurations" section that only specifically namechecked their own 10th, 11th and 12th Gen Core CPUs. Cue a heady mix of confusion and perturbation – surely Intel weren't suggesting that Arc GPUs would only function when paired with an Intel CPU, and a relatively new one at that?

No, they weren't, though the guide's vague wording isn't doing it – and worse, potential Arc users – any favours. Parts of the guide appear to conflate support for Resizable BAR with support for the Arc A-series in general, which further muddies things as Resizable BAR works on AMD Ryzen chips as well as those three Core CPU generations. I asked Intel directly for clarification and essentially, Arc GPUs won't have such super specific CPU requirements just to run - though they'll apparently perform better in systems that do support Resizable BAR.

Capcom shared a new video looking at all the new Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak photo made features coming in the expansion

Among the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak teases include details about additions to existing features. For example, Capcom went over the dango hopping skewers in May 2022. Now its latest video shows some of the additions coming in the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak photo mode.

Three new features are specifically highlighted in the teaser trailer. First, there will be a Buddies: Face Camera option. If someone presses a button, any Palamutes and Palicos with you will turn to face the camera. On the Switch, this will be the left trigger.

Next, the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak photo mode will allow people to hide the UI. The video shows what it looks like with and without the UI there. The example features a hunter standing with Chichae, the new quest damsel for the expansion.

Finally, the video shows off the ability to have characters in the photo face the camera. On the Switch, pressing the - button will cause your hunter and any NPCs around to turn and pose.

Here's the full Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak photo mode video.

Monster Hunter Rise is available for the Nintendo Switch and PC, and the Sunbreak expansion will arrive on June 30, 2022.

Street Fighter 6 Modes Revealed

A new Street Fighter 6 video from Jeff Gerstmann shows all of the modes in its Fighting Ground area. The very beginning of the video briefly shows all areas in the main menu as of the 0.1000 Trial Version. It also shows off Chun-Li, Jamie, Luke, and Ryu's movesets ahead of matches. [Thanks, The Jeff Gerstmann Show!]

People don't need to wait long to see the list of modes in this build of Street Fighter 6. Gerstmann's over 20 minutes of footage begins with a look at the Fighting Grounds main menu. The Arcade mode only has Story underneath it. Its description states every character has their own storyline. The Practice section has Character Guides, Combo Trials, Training, and Tutorials under it. In Versus, people can play One on One or in a Team Battle alone against the CPU or against another person. The Special Match option will apparently have "special rules and mechanics." Only the Extreme Battle mode appeared in the menu in this build. Finally, the Online area mentions league points and clubs. It lets people choose either casual or ranked matches or lets them make a custom room.

The only mode available in the Street Fighter 6 0.1000 trial is One on One under Versus. Here's the full Gerstmann showing off the menus and matches.

Street Fighter 6 will come to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC in 2023.

FFXIV Japanese and European Data Center Expansion Details Confirmed

The FFXIV Japanese and European data center expansion details are here. Square Enix announced both will take place in patch 6.18 following the July 5, 2022 maintenance. It then went over what can expect from moves to the new FFXIV Meteor logical data center in Japan or new European worlds Alpha, Raiden, Phantom, and Sagittarius.

First, there will be the typical two-week grace period for FFXIV Home World Transfers following the Japanese data center expansion and European data center expansion. As usual, the service will temporarily be down due to maintenance and to ensure it is working. Once it is back, people have two weeks to make a move for free.

People on the Japanese data center with residences will get bonuses for going to a new world. If they owned an apartment, they'll get 500,000 gil for their old place and 500,000 gil for furnishings they can't remove and take with them. Those with an estate get 100% of its cost and 3,000,000 gil for any furnishings that would have to be left behind. Just don't vacate or relinquish before you move. Square Enix said in the FFXIV Chaos and Light data center new worlds, housing will temporarily be unavailable.

There are also some new world bonuses connected to the FFXIV European data center expansion. Existing characters can move for free, will get double EXP for 90 days, get 10 gold chocobo feathers, and will get gil for moving from their apartment and estate. People who make new characters will get double EXP and 10 silver chocobo feathers right away. If you reach level 30 in a class, you also get 15 days of free play time and 1,000,000 gil.

As for the FFXIV Japanese data center expansion regrouping, details about what happens to Deep Dungeons, Fellowships, Linkshells, and PVP teams came up. People's Deep Dungeons save data won't transfer. Fellowships will transfer with masters, but members not moving will be removed. Linkshells will transfer, with a new one being created with the same members. Finally for PVP teams, it will transfer over and be created, but members who aren't on that data center will be removed.

Final Fantasy XIV is available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. FFXIV patch 6.18 will bring with it the Japanese data center expansion with Meteor as a logical data center and European data center expansion with Alpha and Raiden on Light and Phantom and Sagittarius on Chaos. Data center travel will also come in 6.18.

Persona 5 Royal Alchemy Stars Event Starts in July

On June 16, 2022, the official Alchemy Stars Twitter account teased a Persona 5 Royal event. Now it's confirmed. In July 2022, the crossover will begin.

Details about the Persona 5 Royal Alchemy Stars crossover are rather vague. It's known this will be a limited event only available in-game for a brief time. While it runs, there will be a new storyline with characters from the JRPG. People will also be able to get a few folks from Persona 5 Royal and use them in-game. The announcement noted that some of the event-related items will require purchases. Apparently some could be unlocked by playing.

Alchemy Stars often hosts events with other properties. For example, at the beginning of January 2022, there was a crossover with Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid. People could add Tohru, Kanna, Lucoa, Elma, and Fafnir to their rosters during it.

Alchemy Stars is available for Android and Apple iOS devices, and the Persona 5 Royal event will appear in July 2022. Persona 5 Royal is available on the PlayStation 4. It will come to the PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC on October 21, 2022.

King of Fighters NFT

Multiple SNK social media accounts including the SNK Global Twitter account are teasingKing of Fighters NFT project titled CryptoKOF. However, there is only a short trailer and a Twitter account, which has since protected its tweets, dedicated to the project at the time of the announcement. Though details are scarce, the project will involve SNK and a Shanghai-based NFT marketing firm.

The 1-minute-long trailer shows clips of a futuristic city with seemingly no connection to the King of Fighters universe. Towards the end of the video, it closes in on a retro-style arcade with several arcade cabinets showing a "King of Fighters Crypto" logo. The video then shows the phrase "Remember Every Time You See The Moon" in Japanese. This could be a reference to the King of Fantasy spin-off novel and manga adaptation.

You can see a screenshot of the announcement tweet below.

CryptoKOF Announcement Tweet

Oddly, the now locked CryptoKOF Twitter account has only a handful of followers and no other tweets, despite being "officially authorized." Aside from SNK, Shanghai-based NFT firm Metawave is also collaborating on the project. However, there is little to no information on the company's past crypto-related projects. The company also appears to be unrelated to the previously announced Netmarble King of Fighters Arena NFT project.

SNK has already been selling KOF NFTs for some time now. The company holds a partnership with OnBuff, an NFT marketplace where it sells NFTs of popular fighters from KOF and its other franchises. All of this is part of a larger trend of Japan-based video game publishers breaking into the cryptocurrency industry. Recent examples include Square Enix, Konami, and Bandai Namco.

The King of Fighters CryptoKOF NFT project is in development. There is no release date.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak Gaming Mouse Mats

Capcom and Cafe Reo will release a series of Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak gaming mouse mats. A total of three versions will be available, with each mat featuring the Malzeno, the flagship monster of Sunbreak. The Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak gaming mouse mats will cost 3,300 yen (about $24) and will release on June 30, 2022, to coincide with the release of the expansion. The mats will be available at Cafe Reo locations. [Thanks, Gamer!]

The dimensions of the mouse mats are H 400mm×W 800mm×D 3mm. As mentioned previously, each mat features the Malzeno. However, one of the mats includes renders of the Garagolm and Lunagaron. This is the first time these two monsters have appeared in a Monster Hunter game. The other mat designs primarily focus on the Malzeno and are pieces of promotional artwork that have been used for Sunbreak.

Capcom Fighting Collection Review 1The title 'Capcom Fighting Collection' holds a hell of a lot of promise. The publisher/developer has released some of the greatest fighting games in existence. Street Fighter II was the game that basically made the genre what it is. There was an awful lot of that game included with Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, which released back in 1998. But barring the versus titles, there aren't actually that many 2D Capcom fighters left to fill out a collection such as this. Capcom Fighting Collection is a good anthology of games outside the mainline Street Fighter series. Although it does surprisingly have a more complete version of Street Fighter II than the aforementioned collection for that series. Truth be told, Capcom Fighting Collection, as my review title implies, would have been better off being called "Darkstalkers and Friends" or something similar. This is basically a Darkstalkers collection with some odds and ends added in. All five ...

Evil West Gameplay TrailerThe video game industry could always pull more from the Westerns genre, and Evil West is the latest game that's happy to oblige. Evil West, from developer Flying Wild Hog, was initially revealed back at The Game Awards in 2020. It's a third-person action game where players take on the role of vampire hunter Jesse Rentier. Flying Wild Hog is also known for other rough and tumble shooters like Shadow Warrior and Hard Reset. The new Evil West trailer gives us an extended look at various aspects of the game. Some light exploration allows players to swing to new areas and find extra coins, and there seems to be plenty of variety to combat. Encounters are fast and let players use a mixture of guns, melee attacks, and satisfying environmental kills. Unlockable perks should also make this more enjoyable as the game progresses.   The Evil West trailer also shows off a variety of locations, including a more typical Western town, as well as a darker and more supernatural underground sect...

The Capcom Fighting Collection is an all-around excellent collection of lesser-known Capcom fighters that fighting game fans and retro enthusiasts will love.
