We're halfway through the year, and a throughline is clear: Despite a wave of delays and industry upheaval, 2022 has cemented its place as a damn good year for video games. By summer, we're usually bemoaning a lack of must-play games. But this year, so far, is the opposite: There are, somehow, almost too many games…

This Elden Ring mod completely overhauls combat

If you've seen and done everything The Lands Between has to offer, a new Elden Ring mod from Ghost8686 may help ease the pang of waiting for official DLC. Dubbed Elden Ring Augmented, the mod makes New Game Plus significantly less of a grind in the RPG by doubling your Runes and even letting you recover them from anywhere. It also turns Torrent invincible – though not quite the Gigachad-Torrent from another recent mod – and adds a Sekiro-inspired deflecting skill, if you manage to to get the timing right.

Destiny 2 Xur location and inventory this weekend

Looking for the Destiny 2 Xur location? Xûr is Destiny 2's Exotic gear merchant. He appears every weekend to sell the game's most coveted items in exchange for Legendary shards, but if you're a casual player with limited shards to spend, it can be hard to know which items you should purchase from his inventory. That's where we come in.

Xûr provides random rolls and has done so since a change in 2020, so the Exotic merchant is providing plenty of excitement as he might arrive with a god roll. We'll update this Destiny 2 Xur location guide shortly after he arrives each week on Friday, so if you're reading this, you need only read on to learn where he is, and which are the best items he's selling this week.

While he jumps around from week to week, Xur's location has stuck to an established rotation for a while now, so it's easy to figure out where he is.

Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak weapon tier list

Looking for the Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak weapon tier list? Since the dawn of this RPG game series, hunters have argued which weapons are the best. Some prefer the Insect Glaive's high mobility, while others such as the Great Sword, are attractive for their sheer power. Debuting in Monster Hunter Rise, the Wirebugs shook up the status quo with typically slow weapons receiving some much-needed agility.

Of course, if you're a veteran hunter used to any one of these types, a Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak weapon tier list such as this may serve as nothing more than confirmation bias. In fact, there's always going to be a little bit of bias in every tier list. I love nothing more than becoming a whirling dervish with the Dual Blades, stacking status ailments onto even the toughest Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak monsters with every hit. Is it actually the best, though? Probably not, but it's what I'm used to.

That said, perhaps you're a more adventurous hunter seeking to find that perfect weapon for speedruns, or you want to coordinate with teammates to make a perfectly balanced hunting party? If so, look below to see how the very best Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak weapons rank when pitted against each other.

Genshin Impact parody invites you to join the Arataki Gang

If you're feeling a little lost in the world of Teyvat, a new Genshin Impact fan parody video invites you to join the lovable scoundrels of the Arataki Gang in a humorous recruitment video put together by community member genshashin. The video, based on the recent Kuki Shinobu hangout quest introduced in Genshin Impact 2.8, features gang leader Arataki Itto along with his sidekick Kuki Shinobu and several of the gang's other members.

The Arataki Gang Recruitment Video by genshashin is an incredible piece of editing - especially considering the limited tools available to create custom content around the anime game's world and characters. The video opens with narration from Kuki Shinobu, who describes the gang as "a legitimate international organisation" and discusses their various business portfolios in rather entertaining fashion.

Gang leader Arataki Itto himself, labelled as the 'Arataki Gang CEO,' also takes centre stage, showing off his fun-loving side with clips of him engaging in hide-and-seek and beetle fighting. Kuki says that as a relatively new organisation to the region, the gang has run into a "recurring issue" of people misinterpreting their intentions, so they decided to employ a marketing agency to help improve their image.

Overwatch 2 players think Junker Queen should be bigger

Overwatch 2 players in the FPS game's second beta have been spending plenty of time getting used to the new tank hero Junker Queen. However, some of them are concerned that her character model doesn't fit her tank status, with one fan using some basic measurements to demonstrate why her size could be a problem for the multiplayer game's readability.

Reddit user WenisDongerAndAssocs posted to the Overwatch subreddit (spotted by GamesRadar+) explaining why they feel Junker Queen's current model isn't 'tank-like' enough. In their own words, "Junker Queen breaks the rules of proportions for a tank." They include an image demonstrating that every other tank in Overwatch is no more than twice as tall as they are wide, with the singular exception of Zarya who clocks in at a height 2.75x that of her width. By comparison, Junker Queen's model is approximately 3.5x as tall as it is wide.

Clocking in at seven feet tall (according to Bizzard senior art supervisor Kacey Helms), it's not that Junker Queen is even close to diminutive - but height can be deceptive, especially at distance. As WenisDonger notes, tanks in Overwatch are designed so that "their wide silhouettes communicate protection and stability." It's not just for aesthetics, though - it's about quickly recognising where certain hero types are located mid-fight, and many players in the reddit thread say they are misidentifying Junker Queen as a DPS hero at a glance.

Earlier this week, I had a real blast from the past moment. Apparently, my ancient LiveJournal turned 18 on Tuesday, a thing I haven't posted in or given a single thought to for at least ten years. Naturally, curiosity got the better of me, so I dipped my toe back in to see what teenage Katharine had been blogging about in the mid to late 00s. Aside from all my custom images having been eaten, probably with the closure of whatever photo upload service I used back in the day, everything else was pretty much in tact.

But man alive. Those OPINIONS. Just terrible. Bad, awful, narrow-minded. In some ways it's quite funny looking back at how angry I was about Nintendo putting trains in a Zelda game, for example (joke's on me, Spirit Tracks would go on to become one of my fav Zelda games of all time), but in many ways I'm just quite glad I've (hopefully) moved on as a person, if only because recent weeks have reminded me there are still plenty of people out there like late 00s Katharine who are in all likelihood the same age I am now. Yes, I'm talking about the backlash to Return Of Monkey Island.

I thought I wanted a gardening game. The few I tried were fussy, though, and too much like the kind of cold scientific procedure that turns growing things into industry. With Lost Nova on my back burner I shrugged, and gave that a go, having frankly forgotten what it was.

It's a gathering game, so almost the reverse of gardening, or perhaps the end point of it. But its relaxed pace, warm tone, and fun dialogue were, it turns out, exactly what I needed. There's no pressure, and not too much to worry about. You can just wander about enjoying the vibe and digging things up with your gentle laser as you go.

disgaea 6 header

About a year after its original release on the Nintendo Switch, the localized version of Disgaea 6 Complete is now on the PS4, PS5, and Windows PC worldwide. I had the opportunity to play the PS4 version and, while this is almost everywhere now, it still feels like a handheld game.

disgaea 6 graphics

The first thing I noticed about Disgaea 6 on the PS4 was that it felt very much like a Switch game. The 3D effect looked rather rough. Also, something about the font made it look quite retro. This combination made the game look a lot older than one released in 2021. At first, I actually thought that it was from the Nintendo 3DS! The 3D animations in combat when you use special attacks are rather lackluster when compared with other native Switch games that came out around the same time.

disgaea 6 fire

However, in saying that, the game definitely feels like a PS4 game. Everything was smooth, from moving the cursor to watching the characters move about on the maps. The graphics aren't breathtaking by any means, but it never felt laggy. Now, my PS4 is fairly old, and there are occasional hiccups with games such as Genshin Impact or 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. But no matter how many enemies were on the map in Disgaea 6, it made no impact on the performance.

The second thing I noticed about the game was that it felt geared towards series veterans. I spent a lot of time in the beginning wondering if I should recognize and know protagonist Zed. While the game does provide explanations for the systems such as Super Reincarnation, the Dark Assembly, and the Item World, they suddenly unlock in between story levels. The way Cerberus casually tells Zed that these functions are now available, with no particular fanfare, definitely feels like these are mechanics players should already be familiar with and itching to gain access to.

disgaea 6 battle

There are some aspects of Disgaea 6 that maybe may feel easier to deal with on the Switch than on the PS4. And this may be where my status as a Disgaea novice rears its head. The game is very grind-heavy and requires repeating maps a lot. This is honestly fine, due to the auto-battle and auto-repeat functions. (Why auto-battle keeps sending my squishiest characters out in the frontline and killing them, I don't understand, though!) In Disgaea 6 especially, the auto functions for grinding are a lifesaver considering the monstrous level cap.

But this part of the game feels like it works better on a portable console such as the Switch, since you could theoretically leave it running while you go and do something else. Manual grinding is a draw for the Disgaea series. After all, previous entries in the franchise were on consoles such as the PS2 or PS3. However, making it automatic begs the question of what the player should do while the characters zoom about. These days, it's not unheard of to play two games at the same time. But I usually consider the mobile game to be the one that you can leave idling. While the grinding itself is not an issue, something about being able to activate auto-battle and auto-repeat on a PS4 gave me an odd cognitive dissonance.

Disgaea 6: Complete is available on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5. Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny is available on the Nintendo Switch.

FFVII Remake Chapter 4

The Square Enix blog is continuing its series of retrospectives on the development of Final Fantasy VII Remake. The latest installment covers FFVII Remake Chapter 4. While FFVII Remake is in large part a retelling of the original FFVII, it takes extra time to expand on Cloud and the party's adventure in Midgar. As a result, the game does feature a significant amount of new content that expands on moments in the first iteration of the story.

The blog delivers insights and comments on the chapter's development from Scenario Design Co-Director Motomu Toriyama, Game Design Co-Director Naoki Hamaguchi, Facial Directo Akira Iwasawa, Music Superviso Keiji Kawamori, Sound Director Makoto Ise, Battle Director Teruki Endo, and Senior Assistant Producer Yuma Watanabe.

Note: The blog entry contains spoilers for Chapter 4 of Final Fantasy VII Remake.

FFVII Remake Chapter 4 is titled "Mad Dash" and is notably all-original to Final Fantasy VII's story. It takes place the night before Avalanche is to destroy Shinra Mako Reactor 5. While Tifa and Barrett rest Cloud is approached by Jessie, who proposes a secret midnight outing to Jessie's parents' house in Midgar proper. Tagging along are Biggs and Wedge. The party gets into a running battle with Shinra's bike soldiers, as well as with Roche, a SOLDIER member.

According to Toriyama, FFVII Remake Chapter 4 was created with the objective of fleshing out the relationship between Cloud and Avalanche. In the original, Avalanche members besides Barrett didn't get much screen time or personality. In FFVII Remake, though, players get to see the characters "private relationships" and better empathize with them and the connection they've built. It also helps illustrate the connection between Barrett's Avalanche cell and the larger Avalanche organization.

Hamaguchi revealed that Roche was originally intended to be a generic Shinra SOLDIER operative that acted as a boss for the G-Bike section of the chapter. However, the team felt it would be fun to have the boss recur for the second major encounter of the chapter, at the 7-6 Annex facility. It was then that the team gave him a distinct personality, integrating him into the FFVII Remake Chapter 4 story. As a result, Roche became a breakout star of that moment, using his flamboyant G-Bike maneuvers and freewheeling personality to steal his scenes and act as a foil to Cloud's taciturn disposition.

The blog contains more detail, including insights regarding the music, summons, cute cats, and Wedge's cheeks. Final Fantasy VII Remake is available on PS4, and its upgraded Intergrade version is available on PS5 and PC. The next installment, Rebirth, is in development.

Hitman 3 map Ambrose Island guardsDeveloper IO Interactive has unveiled its July roadmap for Year 2 of Hitman 3, and it promises to bring a substantial new feature to the game. This feature will come in the form of a new location called Ambrose Island, which actually serves as the game's first post-launch area. After more than a year of continuous post-launch updates, it comes as a bit of a surprise that Hitman 3 only received a new map now. But, considering the sheer amount of detail crammed into Hitman's maps, it only makes sense that the developers would take their time with this one. Those who already own Hitman 3 will receive the Ambrose Island map for free on July 26. According to IO Interactive's official website, this hidden tropical island houses a fearsome pirate syndicate that conducts its operations in the Andaman Sea. Additionally, the island contains many secrets to discover, but these have little to do with Agent 47's main goal, which is to "help an old friend rectify hi...

The Quarry Online Multiplayer Co Op Patch OutfitsWhen The Quarry launched last month, it included a couch co-op mode for up to eight people. Supermassive Games has implemented some form of co-op in many of its horror titles, ranging from The Dark Pictures to The Quarry. However, a missing feature was the ability to play the mode online, which was delayed due to the servers getting moved out of Ukraine. Supermassive promised a patch, and yesterday it made good on the pledge. The latest patch for The Quarry adds a new online multiplayer mode, plus some '80s-themed outfits for the cast. So yes, The Quarry now has online multiplayer co-op — but not in the form you may expect. Fans of The Dark Pictures Anthology likely imagine some form of co-op, where two players control one character each while making their own decisions. The mode has proven to be a fun and often deadly addition, as you or your buddy could mess up and change which characters live or die. However, the multiplayer is more of a party mode.   The new multip...

Warzone Pacific patch weapon balancing bug fixesCall of Duty: Warzone Pacific Season 4 contained the biggest content drop the battle royale has seen in a while. The release of Fortune's Keep provided a fresh experience, and players got to try out the Marco 5 and UGM 8, and more. Raven Software continues to deploy regular updates in order to improve the state of the game, with the latest Warzone Pacific patch balancing weapons and squashing bugs. Let's begin with the weapon balancing adjustments. So far in season 4, the Warzone Pacific meta has heavily consisted of the NZ-41 assault rifle and the H4 Blixen submachine gun. Both weapons have been nerfed, with the NZ-41 receiving a 20% decrease to its recoil recovery. In addition, the 8mm Klauser 40 Round Magazine attachment's recoil control penalty has increased to -10%. Moving on to the H4 Blixen, the lower torso damage multiplier dealt by the weapon was slightly reduced from 1.1 to 1.0. Despite the adjustments, it is likely that both weapons will continue to be stro...

Diablo Immortal Ancient Nightmare location and boss fight

Looking to find the Diablo Immortal Ancient Nightmare spawn location and defeat the world boss? If you're having trouble, we don't blame you! Like all world bosses in Blizzard's mobile RPG game, the Ancient Nightmare is classed as a zone event, meaning a number of conditions must be met before you can even be eligible to engage it in battle. Once you are able to encounter it, you might end up wishing you hadn't.

The Diablo Immortal Ancient Nightmare is a demonic creature of epic proportion that truly lives up to its name. We would always recommend tackling world bosses as part of a group due to their enormous health pools and punishing difficulty. Taking on the Ancient Nightmare alone would be an impossible feat. It would also be wise to kit yourself out with all the best Diablo Immortal legendary gems, charms, and set items you can get your hands on.

How to get Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak afflicted materials

Want to know how to get Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak afflicted materials? Once you reach the endgame of this massive RPG game, you're going to need to make the best weapons and armour, including Master Layered Armor. Once you've slain the campaign's final boss and completed the urgent quest at Master Rank 10, you can start gathering afflicted materials in Anomaly quests. There are eight types of afflicted materials, each obtained through a specific tier of Anomaly quests.

Now, you may think you're an ace hunter, and even the new Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak monsters stand no chance against you. You should, therefore, be able to get Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak afflicted materials easily. We like that confidence, however, it's worth keeping in mind that you can't capture them to end the fight early. It's an inconvenience, especially since every monster in these Anomaly quests carries a disease in addition to having brand new moves and an extremely high health stat.

F1 22 Austria setup: best car settings for the Red Bull Ring

The best F1 22 Austria setup is essential if you want to contend with the front-runners. This circuit has the quickest lap times out of all the tracks in the game this year, thanks to three consecutive fast DRS sections. It's 71 laps long and in a standard season, will be the 11th race on the calendar.

It goes without saying that these car settings for the best F1 22 Austria setup largely depend on your driving style, car performance, and weather conditions, but this is the rough ballpark you want to be aiming for in one of the best racing games this year. Austria has a couple of slow corners between the fast sections with notable elevation changes, so we advise you to run plenty of practice laps with slightly adjusted camber and ride height especially.

The world of Terraria is packed with secrets and mysteries that enable players to experience their own unique stories - now the crafting game is telling a tale of its own with a new official Terraria graphic novel series. The project is being handled by 50 Amp Productions in collaboration with the RPG game's developer Re-Logic.

The first book in the series is almost finished, according to a post by Re-Logic on the game's Steam news page. Each book comprises four separate issues, with the book one, issue one cover art being revealed in the post - although Re-Logic notes that the Terraria logo used in the artwork is a placeholder and will be replaced for the final product by a brand-new custom logo designed for the graphic novel series.

"Outside of working on Terraria itself, this is maybe the most excited we have been for any project we have been involved with thus far," proclaims Re-Logic in its post, saying that it has "high hopes and big plans here, should these do well enough and meet with the approval of the Terraria community."

Which Outriders class is right for your Worldslayer journey?

People Can Fly's exhilarating sci-fi shooter is back with a new expansion – Outriders Worldslayer. Worldslayer brings players back to the world of Enoch, which has now been ravaged by the Anomaly, vastly changing the landscape to a frozen wasteland. There's a whole new campaign to play through, which – like the original campaign – can be experienced solo or with up to two friends.

In true Outriders fashion, there are masses of fearsome enemies and formidable bosses to take on in Worldslayer, and how you fare against them will depend on how you set up your character. There are lots of variations in how you can set up your Outrider, allowing you to use different abilities and powers to defeat your enemies. How your character progresses will depend on the class you choose – this is also one of the first choices you'll have to make in Outriders, so be sure you're happy with your selection before you get too deep into the game.

Unlike some other loot shooters, Outriders offers clear and distinctive playstyles for each of its classes, with a level of depth available for players who wish to dive deep into speccing their characters in a certain direction. And you get four main classes to pick from, so you don't have to tie your destiny to just one of three classes, and you'll be in the right frame of mind for warring without having to choose between a million different options. Players who want to casually enjoy the game can also choose to simply continue down a predetermined path, so they can focus on the action without getting overwhelmed by choice.

Hitman 3 new map Ambrose Island revealed, releasing in July

IO Interactive has revealed its Hitman 3 July roadmap for the assassination sandbox game, which includes a reveal trailer and release date for the new Hitman 3 map Ambrose Island. The new location, a stunning but dangerous tropical island, is coming in July and will be free to owners of the open-world game. Some returning elusive targets are also on the way, as well as a promise of additional quality of life improvements.

The Hitman 3 year 2 July roadmap lays out the forthcoming month of updates (we may already be a week in but, as IO says, better late than never). Headlining the schedule is Ambrose Island, a hidden cove on a tropical island out in the Andaman Sea, which can be found in the northeastern Indian Ocean alongside Myanmar and Thailand.

Ambrose Island arrives on July 26, and will be available for free to all owners of Hitman 3. It's "home to a dangerous pirate syndicate," and the location reveal trailer is narrated by a rather mean-looking figure in a yellow bandana who appears to be one of the group's leaders. "You rejected us because we were different," says the character over panning shots of the island's jungles, "now you look at us with envy and fear." You can check out the reveal trailer below.

You could get 150 free Hearthstone packs for not playing

If you haven't played Hearthstone in a while, you might find that Blizzard comes knocking with armfuls of free Hearthstone packs to try and tempt you back into their Warcraft-themed card game. This might not sound too surprising, as returning player bonuses have been awarded in Hearthstone previously, but the number of packs on offer here is quite frankly astronomical - with some users receiving as many as 150 free packs.

Multiple players on the game's subreddit reported that they were offered this rather generous "welcome back gift" bundle, which consists of 75 classic packs and 75 packs from the game's newest expansion, Voyage to the Sunken City. Others were sent a smaller number, such as 20 packs split across the two sets. Nevertheless, this is still quite a tempting offer - especially as the potential cost of getting back into a card game can often be off-putting.

Speaking to PC Gamer, a Blizzard spokesperson confirmed the deal, saying that the promotion is "a region-specific test for Hearthstone in the UK and France for a subset of relevant players who were first randomly sorted into groups before being assigned a corresponding offer between 20 and 150 packs."

How to clean a laptop screen – spring clean your portable machine

Taking the time to clean a laptop screen is essential, especially if you want to keep your portable powerhouse in tip-top condition. Even careful gaming PC enthusiasts can end up with a mucky display, as even momentary touches leave stubborn smudges and marks.

It's worth checking how to clean a laptop screen, as it's easier than you think to permanently damage your panel. Using a damp cloth to tackle smudges is tempting, but it more often than not makes things worse. You'll also want to avoid using any old liquid cleaner, as this could ruin your panel's coating and leave irreversible blemishes.

Of course, you could just leave your display the way it is, but if you're rocking a portable rig with a high-resolution panel, you'll want it to look its best. So, to help keep your on-the-go experience crystal clear, here's how to clean a laptop screen and prevent gunk from obscuring your view.

Genshin Impact tier list July 2022: the best characters in 2.7

Looking for a Genshin Impact tier list? There are currently 50 Genshin Impact characters available, so there's no shortage of candidates for your dream team. But with so many different weapon, elementals, talents, ascension bonuses, and constellations upgrades, finding your favourites can be challenging.

Don't let the placement of the characters on our Genshin Impact tier list deter you from pulling on the next character banner. While base stats and elemental abilities are important, the value of a character also depends on personal playstyle, available weapons and artifacts, and team composition. That being said, if your favourite character is in C tier or below, you may struggle to get past some of the more challenging Spiral Abyss floors. Don't worry too much if your favourite character is on one of the lower tiers; you can still make it work with our recommended Genshin Impact builds.

In general, being on a high tier means that the character is the best Genshin Impact character in their role, is not too difficult to build, and performs well regardless of teammates. Being on a lower tier means that there are better alternatives, or the character needs a very specific build or team to shine. Just to note, the characters are not ranked within their own tier, and with that out of the way, let's take a look at our ranking of characters in our Genshin Impact tier list.

Madison is a fun game to write about. It's a puzzle horror game set in your traditional haunted house, aiming at a P.T. or Layers Of Fear vibe down the viewfinder of a Polaroid camera. Said camera was a second-hand gift for Luca's (that's you!) 16th birthday. It is also possessed by a demon, which is where the fun comes in, "fun" here meaning jump scares and hallucinatory clocks. Let that be a lesson to anyone thinking of getting their son something that was evidence in a murder as a present. This is one of many bad choices characters in Madison made. They are mostly now dead.

The game itself sometimes makes very good choices, though it's about 50/50 that it goes a bit too weird and ends up being silly. This makes for an intriguing mixture, especially with a complicated story of murder and neglect spanning decades, and by the end I was extremely fond of the way the sublime and the ridiculous sat side by side. The main let down isn't that Madison sometimes makes you giggle by accident, but that its multi-stage puzzles become so drawn out that you stop jumping at creepy angels and terrifying violin squeals. You've got numbers to write down and candles to move, and you don't have time for any demonic antics right now, godammit.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 dual audio

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 will support both English and Japanese-language voice tracks upon launch. However, unlike Xenoblade Chronicles 2, players won't need a separate download to install their preferred voice track. Instead, the initial Xenoblade 3 game install is dual audio. This means it contains both voice tracks, and will let players choose their preferred voice language from the outset.

Nintendo confirmed the inclusion via a Tweet.

https://twitter.com/NintendoEurope/status/1545392286049222658

The tweet included a video comparing both voice tracks, allowing players to experience Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in dual audio and contrast the characters' lines and delivery in either language.

Earlier videos also confirmed the English voice cast for Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

  • Noah - Harry McEntire
  • Mio - Aimee-Ffion Edwards
  • Eunie - Kitty Archer
  • Taion - Olivier Huband
  • Lanz - Jack Bardoe
  • Sena - Rebecca LaChance

Additionally, here's the Japanese voice cast.

  • Noah - Ryohei Arai
  • Mio - Minami Tsuda
  • Eunie - Megumi Han
  • Taion - Ryohei Kimura
  • Lanz - Kosuke Tanabe
  • Sena - Miyuki Satou

It's beneficial for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 to have dual audio options for voice acting. After all, not every user has unlimited access to internet bandwidth. They may not be in a position to visit the eShop to queue up an added download.

Xenoblade Chronicle 3 will release on the Nintendo Switch on July 29, 2022. Check out Siliconera's preview of the game's first hours. Graham called the early hours of the game "a familiar, robust adventure" and "a comfort for those who use games like this as long-term companions."

The Diofield Chronicle

The DioField Chronicle will launch on September 22, 2022 in Japan and overseas. After confirming the news last week, Square Enix and developer Lancarse released a launch date trailer for The DioField Chronicle. It shows a mix of gameplay and narrative footage. It highlights characters involved in the story, as well.

Check out the trailer below, via the official DioField Chronicle YouTube channel.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LD6weq_KVU4

The DioField Chronicle launch date trailer highlights the game's aesthetic. The game world blends magical fantasy with early-industrial elements. Soldiers wield spears, bows, and swords and wear armor, but also fight with firearm-style weapons and enter battle on metal ships bearing artillery cannon. Amidst the chaos of war, a band of elite, independent mercenaries called Blue Fox arises, their deeds entering legend.

Characters like Andreas Rhondarson, Fredret Lester, Iscarion Colchester, Waltaquin Redditch lead The Blue Fox. They're shown questioning their actions and making decisions about how to involve themselves in the war that grips the land of The DioField Chronicle.

The distinctive "diorama"-style battle systems are shown off in The DioField Chronicle launch trailer. In-game graphics are shown in "tilt-shift" style, a camera technique designed to make large-scale objects look like miniature models. Battles will take place in real-time, and players can assign units to move along pre-planned waypoints to flank enemy forces.

Non-battle footage from the trailer also shows a strategic-scale map, where players can move their forces on the map, like generals on campaign.

The DioField Chronicles launches on Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 22, 2022. Japanese digital storefronts will host a playable demo on August 10, 2022.

genshin impact heizou

HoYoVerse has released some information on the upcoming new 4-star character, Heizou, in Genshin Impact. He will be part of the first Version 2.8 banner, alongside returning 5-star Kazuha. Heizou will be the game's first male Catalyst user, and he will be of the Anemo element.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mp-u0LmUikU

Though he is a Catalyst user, Heizou's combat animations utilize a lot of martial arts moves. In his character video, he discusses what his beliefs are as a detective, as well as how useless resorting to violence is against him. His Elemental Skill, Heartstopper Strike, can charge up to four stacks for increased damage. Meanwhile, his Elemental Burst, Windmuster Kick, deals AoE Anemo damage.

Heizou is a detective for the Tenryou Commission, and various existing Inazuma characters mention him in their voice lines. In Japanese, Yuichi Iguchi will voice him, and in English, Kieran Regan will. Previous roles from Iguchi include Genshiro Saji from High School DxD and Hotarumaru from Touken Ranbu. As for Regan, he previously appeared as Rio in Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles and Cub in Akedo: Ultimate Arcade Warriors.

Aside from Heizou's debut, Version 2.8 will also have the new Summertime Odyssey event. Finishing the event will give players a free Fischl. Fischl will be one of the characters getting a new outfit, with Diluc getting one as well.

Genshin Impact is available on PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. A Nintendo Switch version is still in development. Genshin Impact Version 2.8 will go live on July 13, 2022, with Heizou on Kazuha's banner.

Custom Robo Nintendo Switch

Nintendo announced two new games coming to the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass library, including Custom Robo and Custom Robo V2 for the N64. However, Custom Robo and its sequel will only be available to Expansion Pass subscribers in Japan. Instead, global subscribers will receive Pokemon Puzzle League. Both games will be available starting July 15, 2022, at no additional cost to subscribers.

Custom Robo is a sci-fi RPG originally released in 1999 for the Nintendo 64. Players would control a small robot and battle against other robots, collecting parts that could be used to customize their character. Many of the series' games were exclusive to Japan, with the international releases being Custom Robo: Battle Revolution for the GameCube and Custom Robo Arena for the Nintendo DS.

https://twitter.com/Nintendo/status/1545212433035595776?s=20&t=8TBnBS7ToNTIeZyt2bW2tw

Both Custom Robo and Custom Robo V2 will support local and online multiplayer on the Nintendo Switch. Custom Robo will support up to two players, while Custom Robo V2 will support up to four players at once. Furthermore, much like last month's Pokemon Snap N64 release, players will be able to customize their button bindings if they do not have the N64 controller.

On the global side of things, Expansion Pack subscribers will receive Pokemon Puzzle League. Released in 2000 for the N64, the game mechanics function similarly to Tetris Attack or Panel de Pon games. The game notably features the characters from the original Pokemon anime series.

https://twitter.com/NintendoAmerica/status/1545213151091867648?s=20&t=8TBnBS7ToNTIeZyt2bW2tw

Custom Robo and Custom Robo V2 will be available for Japanese Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pass subscribers starting July 15, 2022. Pokemon Puzzle League will be available for global subscribers on the same day. All three games are also available to play on the N64.

Meta Quest FacebookThe Meta Quest 2 (formerly known as the Oculus Quest 2) raised some small controversy (or frustration) in its initial release. It forced all users to log into the system with their Facebook accounts. I'm pretty sure the one and only Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg already knows everything about me, even though I don't use Facebook (Twitter makes more sense nowadays). Regardless, the privacy issues are pretty obvious, virtual reality and social media and all. The concerns seemed loud enough, though, as Meta has relented. Starting next month, you don't need to log into your Meta Quest with a Facebook account. News of this broke through an official post on Facebook by Zuckerberg. The Meta CEO revealed that players could instead make separate Meta accounts that can be used for the VR headsets. According to Zuckerberg, this will "give everyone more choice about how you show up in the metaverse." Zuckerberg has been pushing hard on the "big new thing" that...

Vampire Survivors boss piano books damage numbersPatch 0.8.0 of the popular action rogue-lite Vampire Survivors just dropped today on Steam, and this one will definitely excite longtime players. Most patches up to this point introduced elements like a new playable character or item of some sort, but this one adds something arguably more important than those: an actual conclusion to the game. More specifically, this update, dubbed "The Winged One," implements a final boss that Vampire Survivors players can now challenge. Those itching to experience this new boss encounter can find it at the end of the newly added final stage. The area takes the form of an altered version of the fifth stage. Once players successfully triumph over this fearsome foe, the final stage "will revert to a simpler version" in future playthroughs. We won't spoil anything concrete about what the final boss will entail, but can say that it sports about as much visual chaos as one would expect.   Anything else in the patch? ...
