In case you weren't already aware, Battlefield 2042 is a game that was released in the middle of a pandemic without anywhere near enough design work or testing being done for such a flagship release.      Wanted: Dead is Bayonetta meets Yakuza with zombies

The upcoming Wanted: Dead zombie game is giving us major Bayonetta vibes with a hint of Yakuza thrown in the quieter moments of its new release date trailer. Wanted: Dead's release date is set for February 14, and developer Soleil Ltd showed off an extensive slice of gameplay in the new release date trailer. The hack-'n'-slash combat might be heavier and gorier than we see with Bayonetta, but there's almost no denying the flash, slick moves, and over-the-top style draw inspiration from Platinum's campy witch, albeit with massive guns instead of hair-fueled demon powers.

Report: After KOTOR remake delay, Saber takes over

Following Bloomberg's report on the indefinite KOTOR remake delay in July, people familiar with the project now tell Jason Schreier Embracer has taken the space RPG from Aspyr and given it to Saber Interactive to complete. Schreier's sources asked not to be named, though Embracer may have referred to the development change in its recent financial report, where the media juggernaut said it was transferring one of its AAA projects to another studio within Embracer Group.

Slightly Mad issued a Project Cars delist announcement on Twitter, citing the expiration of existing car and track licenses as the reason for taking the racing game off storefronts. The team will also delist Project Cars 2 for the same reason, though you have a bit of time before both games disappear off storefronts for good. Project Cars' delisting will take place on October 3, and Project Cars 2 will vanish on September 21.

A new screenshot from the Haunted Chocolatier game, a life game from Stardew developer Eric Barone, surfaced on Twitter courtesy of the developer himself, and it looks quite a bit weirder than we expected. In a good way. Last time, Barone shared a progress update image that highlighted subtle changes in Haunted Chocolatier's approach to graphics and environment design, changes such as lightning, detail, and even how it renders clothes. This time, it's a giant bee presiding over a honeycomb hell complete with spikes and other traps.

All the statistics about the size of the Total War Warhammer 3 Immortal Empires map, about the number of settlements and regions as compared with its predecessor - they're all just numbers. They're inadequate preparation for actually getting your hands on it. After all the time spent in the previous version of this multi-game mashup, I notice the assumption form that, after a few seconds of scrolling, I would be halfway across the map. It's disorientating to find instead that I'm barely a quarter. It just keeps going.

Japanese voice actor Motomu Kiyokawa

Japanese voice actor Motomu Kiyokawa died at 87 years old on August 17, 2022, at 11:10 AM JST due to pneumonia. His agency Haikyo broke the news on August 22, 2022. The agency's board chairman Kouji Asada added that his funeral service was conducted only with close relatives to honor the request from the surviving family.

Motomu Kiyokawa began his voice-acting career in the 1964 anime adaptation of Osamu Tezuka's Big X. Since then, he had voiced mostly elderly men in many titles.

Some of Kiyokawa's most famous roles include Amuro's father Tem Ray in Mobile Suit Gundam, NERV's deputy commander Kozo Fuyutsuki in Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Rachel Alucard's butler Valkenhayn R. Hellsing in the BlazBlue fighting game series. Additionally, he voiced Rain Mikamura's father in Mobile Fighter G Gundam. Kiyokawa's voice also appeared in the Japanese voiceovers for several Square Enix games, such as Louisoix Leveilleur in Final Fantasy XIV and Domino, the mayor of Midgar, in Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Motomu Kiyokawa also had important roles in several anime titles that were included in the Super Robot Wars game series. He was Jose, one of the Eldora Soul pilots from Gun X Sword that had voice appearances in Super Robot Wars T and Super Robot Wars 30. He also voiced Gargoyle, the villain of Nadia: The Secret of Blue Water that appeared in Super Robot Wars X. Despite not being voiced in the games, Kiyokawa also provided the voice for the Izu Base commander Laker Randolph in the anime adaptations of Super Robot Wars: Original Generations.

Yakuza creator game Toshihiro NagoshiEarlier this year, news came out that the creator of the Yakuza franchise, Toshihiro Nagoshi, formed his own development team after leaving Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio in late 2021. Under this new studio, dubbed Nagoshi Studio, the former Sega employee planned to craft a game that exceeded the scope of the already massive Yakuza titles. Of course, he refrained from revealing any specifics about this new project at the time, and he remains mostly tight-lipped about it to this day. Having said that, the Yakuza creator did recently share a few small nuggets of information regarding his vision for this mysterious new game. This news came courtesy of an interview that Nagoshi had with German outlet 4Players. He stated that his upcoming project will feature a healthy mixture of drama, comedy, and intense violence, much like the Yakuza series. Specifically, he wants the game's tone to resemble that of a typical Quentin Tarantino film, which similarly injects humor to lighten the weight...

However, Flashback 2 is sadly going to miss its 30-year anniversary, as the game is delayed until 2023. Well, it should be a happy 31st birthday. The unfortunate news was shared earlier this morning on Microids' Twitter account. After thanking fans for their support, the company wrote that it made "the decision to push the game release back to 2023. A more accurate launch date will be shared at a later time."   Microids didn't specify the reason for the delay, nor a release window. The publisher also didn't do the usual thing and explain it'll take the time for polish and squashing bugs. WoW Dragonflight is set to release at some point late this year, around two years after the launch of the most recent MMORPG expansion. But that's just in the real, meat-based world. In the digital world, the Warcraft universe also advances the passage of time, and not always in line with meat space.

Looking for the best KG M40 loadout in Warzone? The KG M40 boasts the second highest damage per shot in the assault rifle category, yet it's surprisingly accurate when fired from mid to long range. With a fire rate above 600 RPM, you might struggle to control the weapon's recoil at first, but this can be managed with enough practice.

I love it when a bit of internet rumour mongering gets instantly squashed by the powers that be, don't you? This time, it's in relation to a Blade game that Ubisoft are definitely not making. Rumours started circulating online yesterday when a YouTuber posted a video speculating about what possible games will be shown at the Disney and Marvel games showcase taking place next month. Ubisoft making a game based on Marvel's sword-wielding vampire Blade was one of them, and because the internet is the internet, everyone went wild. Today, though, Ubisoft have already killed the rumour dead in a single tweet.

Not to paint them as particularly fierce open-world rivals, but jumping into Saints Row after a week spent with Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered felt like being hurled backward in time. While Deep Silver Volition's "what if millennials, but crime" reboot is colourful and often quite pretty, you can tell it's not nearly as interested in cutting edge visuals or contemporary PC tech trappings as the Spidey remaster is. Ray tracing? Yes but only for ambient occlusion. Upscaling? Never heard of it, officer.

The upside - besides Santo Ileso being a generally nice place to visit, as Alice Bee found in her Saints Row review - is that it's playable on low-end and luxury hardware alike. And, to its credit, there's a healthy list of customisable graphics options too. I've therefore embraced the past, and spent hours in testing to find out how you can tweak Saints Row's settings for the best possible performance.

There's a long-standing theory among the Warhammer community that the chaos wastes at the globe's south pole house a peculiar breed of beastmen in the form of evil, monstrous penguins. The theory is based on a world with similar geography to our own, and the tendency of the ruinous powers to morph local fauna into mockeries of their previous forms. No ping-gors show themselves as I trawl the southern wastes as stealthy chameleon-skink Oxyotl, but I find myself thinking about them all the same. Noot for the noot god, the blasted crags seem to whisper. Fish for the fish throne.

Evil penguins or not, all things seem possible with Immortal Empires, the combined landmass of the Total War: Warhammer trilogy into a single sandbox map, vast and varied in its climates, landmarks, and inhabitants. Creative Assembly have already dug deep into dusty stacks of White Dwarf to flesh out footnotes into full factions, and as the list of obvious additions dwindle, things can only get wilder and more creative. For now, we have one very big map stuffed with each faction and lord from three massive strategy games, creaking and occasionally buckling under the weight of its own promise. But it works. There's a breadth of technical and balance issues still to solve, but the Immortal Empires beta is substantially more stable, playable, and enjoyable than I dared to hope it would be for at least another six months.

The Saints Row series started off as a sort of rival to Grand Theft Auto, an action-adventure crime sim about working your way up the ranks of a street gang to become the boss. It quickly diverged to become less realistic and more impossibly bombastic, and niched down into giant dildo bats, aliens, reincarnation, and so on. The series has gone to outer space and to hell, so if you're rebooting the series that doesn't leave you many places to go except... backwards.

Saints Row (2022 edition) is back to being a sort of Saints Row again, but also still trying to appeal to people who loved the characters and dick jokes and cartoon carnage of the Saints Row of 2013. If I was being reductive, I'd say it's Saints Row by way of Watch Dogs 2. It isn't bad. It's fun, in fact, but it isn't really doing anything new, either, and I think that's a shame.

The last of us HBO

HBO has released new footage of the upcoming The Last of Us TV series, featuring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie. The 30-second teaser gives fans a first glimpse at the TV adaptation's take on the PlayStation exclusive. The teaser also features side characters such as Bill, and Joel's daughter Sarah. The series will release on the HBO Max streaming service in 2023.

The TV adaptation of The Last of Us features a cast of prominent actors, with the game's director Neil Druckman writing and producing. The cast includes The Mandalorian star Pedro Pascal, as well as Game of Thrones actor Bella Ramsey, among many others. The TV show adaptation will reportedly follow the events of the first game.

HBO included the teaser footage as part of a showreel of upcoming shows appearing on the HBO Max streaming service. Genshin Impact Collei

The 3.0 Update for Genshin Impact lands in a matter of days. When it does, most players will probably want a character who can use Dendro, the new element being introduced alongside Sumeru. Chances are, their first will be Collei, Genshin Impact 3.0's initial 4-Star Dendro character. That's because 4-Star characters are much less rare in the game's Wish gacha system. Additionally, update's first event will reward players with their own Collei, free of charge. To that end, HoYoVerse gave players a look at Collei's talents and abilities via a post on the official Twitter account.

HoYoVerse uploaded a new Genshin Impact Collei character demo video, too. Collei is a rookie Forest Ranger, and is voiced in English by Christina Costello, who plays Acai in Cosmic Wonders and WA2000 in Girls' Frontline's anime adaptation. In Japanese she's voiced by Ryoko Maekawa, who plays Tenka Osaki in Idolm@ster Shiny Colors and Hanabi in Bottom-Tier Character Tomozaki.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J-nGm9BmKtE

Unlike her mentor Tighnari, who's kitted out as a burst damage dealer, Collei is more of an off-field support damage dealer. She specializes in creating zones of Dendro energy to hurt foes even when she's not physically present. Her Elemental Skill throws out a boomerang-like Floral Ring that travels forward and returns to Collei, damaging enemies in the path with Dendro. Her Elemental Burst, Trump-Card Kitty, throws out the doll Cuilein-Anbar, which creates a zone of constant Dendro damage. Her doll is like Amber's Baron Bunny, which taunts enemies and then explodes for Pyro damage.

Collei debuts in Genshin Impact 3.0 "The Morn A Thousand Roses Brings", which launches on August 24, 2022. She'll be on both Event Wish banners, and also obtainable as a reward for completing the "Graven Innocence" event. The game is available on mobile platforms, PS4, PS5, and PC.

identity v netease panda

NetEase has issued an apology after users criticized an Identity V promotional video raising awareness about panda conservation. The issue was related to a specific cut in the video (now removed) about how red pandas have become endangered due to poaching. The cut featured artwork of a man with a red panda's head raising his arms with the words "Don't shot" [sic] underneath. Users online noticed that the cut was edited from a poster by artist Micah Bazant. The poster created for Forward Together in relation to 2018's March for Our Lives campaign. The reference was apparently made without permission.

NetEase removed the video and issued the apology below. In it, NetEase apologized to players, and said that the "inappropriate texture stickers" were not detected due to a "less rigorous" review.

https://twitter.com/GameIdentityV/status/1561229744829386752

The video is no longer available on Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, or any other social media platforms it originally appeared on. Though the video disappeared from accounts in other languages,  as well, only the English-language Identity V Twitter account acknowledged the removal through the apology.

Users online criticized NetEase not just for editing an original piece without permission, but also for misappropriating the art's purpose. The original post was intended specifically to protest gun violence. Bazant did state that they "wanted to honor Black youth who have been fighting gun violence, not just from school shootings, but from the police & white supremacists."

This video was part of NetEase's ongoing collaboration with the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. As part of the campaign NetEase will release two Identity V skins – one for Gardener and one for "Little Girl" – that are panda-themed. Proceeds from the Gardener skin will go to the Chengdu Research Base, though those the "Little Girl" skin will not.

Identity V is available on mobile devices and Windows PC.

pokemon cyclizar header

A trailer appeared during the 2022 Pokemon World Championships that showcases Cyclizar, which is one of the new Pokemon that will appear in Scarlet and Violet. It is a Normal/Dragon type, and you can use it like a mount in-game. Like the name implies, it is a combination between a reptile and a bicycle or motorcycle.

https://twitter.com/Pokemon/status/1561382137638551554

In lore, Cyclizar has lived with people since ancient times. It has always served as a mount, especially since it enjoys the warmth that riders provide. The fastest it can go with a trainer on its back is 70 mph. There has been speculation online that Cyclizar is a pre-evolution of Miraidon and Koraidon, which are the new legendaries in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

A new move that Cyclizar has is Shed Tail.  Shed Tail sacrifices the user's HP to create a substitute and then switches place with another party Pokemon. It is unknown if Shed Tail is a signature move to Cyclizar and any Pokemon that may be in its evolutionary line.

[gallery columns="2" ids="934071,934070" link="file"]

Aside from a new Pokemon, the trailer also shows some new items that you can use in battle. These items are:

  • Mirror Herb: This herb allows the holder to mirror an opponent's stat increases once.
  • Covert Cloak: This protects the holder from additional effects of a move.
  • Loaded Dice: If a Pokemon holding this item uses a multi-strike move (ex. Fury Swipes), it increase the chances of it hitting more often.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet will come out on the Nintendo Switch on November 18, 2022.

The official announcement comes from EA, Codemasters, and Slightly Mad, who posted the announcement on the official Project CARS Twitter. The reason for the delisting is not out of the ordinary. The game launches for both Steam and Stadia on the same date of September 29. The game is a solo and co-op twin-stick shooter, though clearly the major draw here is going to be the co-op. As a result of its all-ages aesthetic, From Space should make it an accessible title for a family gathering. I can imagine this playing very well on the Steam Deck, if you are lucky enough to have gotten your hands on one of those.   Cute apocalypse Visually, From Space is quite charming with its bobble-headed characters and the neon color palette of the enemies. It is reminiscent of Alien Swarm if it had been made for a younger audience. The gameplay looks decently engaging with a variety of characters and weapons to choose.
