Octopath Traveler. Triangle Strategy. Forspoken. These are just a few of Square Enix's weirder game titles. But today, the Final Fantasy publisher reminded the world of one of its all-time-greats: Various Daylife. The iOS JRPG now has a Switch port. It came out today and it's still called, well, that.      How much have I spent on League of Legends?

Want to know 'How much have I spent on League of Legends?' Riot Games' hugely successful MOBA is a free PC game, but if you ask any avid fan if that's the case, you'll no doubt receive a wry laugh in response. The 160-strong champion pool is diverse and wonderful; each character can be purchased with currency earned while playing. The premium cosmetics, however, are bought with real-world money.

These cosmetics - skins, mainly - can be purchased directly using something called RP, purchasable in bulk using your hard-earned cash. These skins change the base look of the character you're playing, with premium cosmetics adding completely new effects, voice lines, and animations. There's also a battle pass that can be bought using RP, this rewards you the more you play, so may seem like the most efficient way to spend your money. This guide will give you the information needed to find out exactly how much you've spent in League of Legends.

Tower of Fantasy Claire's Dream Machine: all challenges and rewards

The Tower of Fantasy Claire's Dream Machine mechanic will undoubtedly show itself to you before too long if you're the kind of Wanderer that prioritises world exploration. This strange drone projects a hologram of Claire, who is a scientist from Navia, and frequently appears after completing certain tasks in the open-world game. While Claire's invitation to immerse yourself in a dream sounds relaxing, the Dream Machine actually contains one of several challenges designed to test your mettle in a number of scenarios.

The Tower of Fantasy Claire's Dream Machine challenges only take a few minutes to complete, and their objectives are very straightforward – whether that be defeating waves of enemies, or collecting items within a set time limit. Completing these challenges is one of the easiest methods to obtain rare upgrade materials for your Tower of Fantasy character, so we would always recommend completing them at every opportunity. Simply interact with Claire's hologram in order to initiate the challenge.

The best Genshin Impact Dori build

So you want to know how to create the best Dori build in Genshin Impact? Phase two of Genshin Impact 3.0 is here, bringing the new pink-haired Electro user Dori with it. Dori is available as one of the four-star characters on the Ganyu banner and Kokomi banner reruns.

While Tighnari and Collei - the other two characters introduced with 3.0 - were Dendro users, and thus mechanically new to the game, Dori is a little easier to get to grips with as she's an Electro character, an element we already know. Primarily positioned as a support, the below build shows our choices for Dori as a healer.

The FIFA 23 player ratings signal the end of an era. For the first time since FIFA 07, neither Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo sit atop the summit, with cover star Kylian Mbappe standing tall as we head into EA's last 'FIFA' branded sports game before the license expires next season.

In truth, it's been coming. Both Messi and Ronaldo lost a certain spark after their 2021 moves to Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United respectively, despite quality individual returns. Square Enix showed off a trailer for Octopath Traveler 2 during the Nintendo Direct stream on September 13, 2022. It will feature eight new Travelers in familiar roles. It will come out on February 24, 2023.

The eight Travelers you will be able to control in Octopath Traveler 2 are:

  • Hikari the Warrior
  • Agnea the Dancer
  • Partitio the Merchant
  • Osvald the Scholar
  • Throné the Thief
  • Temenos the Cleric
  • Ochette the Hunter
  • Castti the Apothecary

You can watch the trailer here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZ7w5QygJuw

In the first game, a Path Action was a unique interaction each Traveler could do on the world map. For Octopath Traveler 2, each character will have two that change depending on if it's day or night. For example, during the day, Hikari can Challenge people, and at night, he can Bribe them.

The Break & Boost battle system will return. Additionally, you will be able to use Latent Power. When you fill up an ability's gauge, you can use a powerful attack on an enemy. Like the first game, the story will have an intertwining narrative as the various characters meet each other on their journeys.

There will be a Collector's Edition set available from the Square Enix store. This is for the PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch versions only. Aside from the game, it will come with bust figurines of all eight protagonists, an art book, and an extended soundtrack. If you pre-order the Digital Standard Edition, you can get the Travel Provisions DLC pack. This includes:

  • Healing Grape (M) x 5
  • Inspiriting Plum (M) x 5
  • Revitalizing Jam x 2
  • Gold Dust x 1

Octopath Traveler 2 will come out on February 24, 2023, for the PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe

People's preferred pink puffball is particularly prolific in the present period, it seems. Another Kirby game, the third release in a year (after Kirby and the Forgotten Land and Kirby's Dream Buffet) is headed for the Nintendo Switch this coming Winter. According to the latest Nintendo Direct broadcast, Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is set for release on February 24, 2023.

Check out a trailer for the game below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAQZY2UVcoQ

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a remastered port of the original 2011 Wii game (with the Deluxe descriptor added to the title). The story follows the landing of a mysterious spaceship on Planet Popstar. Kirby meets Magolor, a mysterious alien who begs for Kirby's help. Thus, Kirby and his friends set off on a new quest to help the stranded alien. Kirby will have access to familiar abilities from the original game, such as Sword and Whip. Deluxe adds a new "Mecha Copy" ability that dresses Kirby in a Gundam-like mecha suit, complete with V-fin, mechanical fists, and shoulder beam cannons. The game supports 4-player local play.

The game also brings back the minigames (called "subgames" here), all of which can support 4 players. Additional minigames like Magolor's Tome Trackers are also planned.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe launches for Nintendo Switch on February 24, 2023.

pikmin 4

Shigeru Miyamoto appeared during the September 13, 2022, Nintendo Direct livestream to showcase a very brief Pikmin 4 trailer. At just over half a minute, the trailer mostly consists of the environment that you and your Pikmin will be able to explore. The release window is in 2023, though there is no hint at when exactly.

You can view the Pikmin 4 announcement trailer here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYR3DVFUnyc

In the trailer, you can see the underside of a park bench, what looks like an analog stopwatch, and a sleeping Bulborb. An aspect of Pikmin 4 includes seeing the world from the Pikmin's point of view. Miyamoto did not share any gameplay footage, but he did share a screenshot showing this off. Instead of viewing the Pikmin and a Bulborb from the usual distant angle, the camera was near the ground, closer to where the Pikmin are.

Another aspect the team worked on is "dandori." Miyamoto explains that because it is easier to control things on the Switch, the player can focus more attention on "strategically planning, deploying, and commanding the Pikmin."

Aside from announcing Pikmin 4, there was a brief showcase of Pikmin Bloom. This is the Pikmin version of Niantic's other walking game, Pokemon Go. Miyamoto used his own phone to show how clouds indicated locations he has not gone to yet. He also showed off the special t-shirt he made for Pikmin 4.

Pikmin 4 will come out in 2023 for the Nintendo Switch.

master detective archives rain code header

During the September 2022 Nintendo Direct livestream, Spike Chunsoft showed off a new trailer for its upcoming dark fantasy mystery game, Master Detective Archives: Rain Code. Spike Chunsoft originally announced this game in 2021. However, at the time, the title was Enigma Archives: Rain Code. The writer, composer, and character designer for Danganronpa will come back together to work on this game.

You can watch the trailer for Master Detective Archives: Rain Code here:

https://youtu.be/UJ9Iz7HhU-I?t=3868

Protagonist Yuma is an amnesiac detective, and he is haunted by a ghost named Shinigami. Yuma is a detective trainee at an agency full of Master Detectives. They all have their own unique skills, but in the city of perpetual rain, they seldom solve any cases. This is due to a megacorporation that works to prevent the truth from getting out. Yuma can traverse through 3D environments to gather clues and listen to testimonies. Afterward, Shinigami can take him to a Mystery Labyrinth that will help him to see the truth of a case.

The game has a lot of familiar gameplay elements from Danganronpa. For instance, some of the platformer levels in the Mystery Labyrinth closely resemble the Psyche Taxi from Danganronpa V3 or the Rebuttal Showdown in Super Danganronpa 2. Unlike Danganronpa, you can explore the environment from a third-person perspective.

Master Detective Archives: Rain Code will launch on the Nintendo Switch in Spring 2023.

Front Mission Remakes

The Front Mission remakes have been dated for Nintendo Switch. The remake of Front Mission 1st is coming this year, in November 2022. Nintendo also confirmed that developer Forever Entertainment is also working on Front Mission 2 and Front Mission 3 remakes.

The Nintendo Direct showed some gameplay footage from each in-development Front Mission remake. Front Mission 2 is scheduled for sometime in 2023, while Front Mission 3 doesn't have a release window. Prior to this announcement, the remake of Front Mission 3 was not confirmed.

Check out some screens from Front Mission 1st in the gallery.

[gallery columns="2" ids="935434,935436" link="file"]

The remakes are, as might be surmised, 3D recreations of the original SNES- and PS1-era tactical titles. The first game launched back in 1995, while its sequel never launched outside Japan, making this release the first time its story will be experienced by fans officially. Front Mission 3 launched in 1999 in Japan and was the first PS1-based entry. In 2000, it became the first Front Mission title to be localized for sale outside Japan.

The Front Mission remakes arrive for Switch starting in November 2022. However, the Nintendo eShop store page still has the game listed for October 2022. Other remakes will follow in 2023 and beyond.

fatal frame mask of the lunar eclipse switch

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse will appear in the West for the first time in early 2023. It originally came out in 2008 for the Nintendo Wii but was exclusive to Japan. Though it originally debuted with middling sales (30,000 units at launch), it had a very positive critical reception.

This will be a remastered version of the game rather than a full-on remake. You can watch the trailer here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gyAygj4REM0

In Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse, you play as Ruka Minazuki. She has come to Rougetsu Island, searching for her lost memories. Like previous Fatal Frame games, you will use the Camera Obscura to take pictures of spirits to defeat them and protect yourself. Additionally, it follows the series tradition of sacrificial rituals in remote locations, which cause angry spirits to wander the area.

More information on it will appear in the near future. It is unclear as of now if there will be any mechanics that are unique to the Nintendo Switch. However, since the developers need to account for players with a Nintendo Switch Lite (thus, no detachable Joy-Cons), it may be difficult.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse will come out in early 2023. Aside from the Nintendo Switch, it will also appear on the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Windows PCs.

Nintendo announced that it will release a remaster of Tales of Symphonia for the Nintendo Switch. A trailer for the game appeared as part of the recent Nintendo Direct. The game will release sometime in Early 2023. There is no confirmed price.

Tales of Symphonia was originally released in 2003 for the Gamecube. It is the fifth mainline game of the Tales of series. Namco later released the game in North America and Europe in 2004. Back in 2021, Bandai Namco revealed that the game was the best-selling Tales of title worldwide.

Notably, an HD remaster of the game, titled Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, was released back in 2013 for the PlayStation 3. The remaster also included the game's sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. However, the reveal trailer did not indicate if there would be any differences in graphics or gameplay with the Nintendo Switch version.

Zelda Tears of the Kingdom Breath of the Wild 2

The sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has an official title: The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Following a delay in March, it also has an official release date: May 12, 2023.

Nintendo dropped the latest trailer for the next mainline Zelda game during its Nintendo Direct broadcast on September 13, 2022.

Check out the trailer below.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SNF4M_v7wc

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom follows after the conclusion of Breath of the Wild. It opens with shots of ancient artwork depicting a figure that appears to be Princess Zelda. Then, it transitions to Link skydiving out of a temple floating in the sky. A montage of scenes showing Link climbing, wearing new equipment, and using the environment is shown before cutting back to his landing on a flying platform of some sort. Floating islands and structures appear to be a major element of both gameplay and the environment in the new game, which takes place on the same map of Hyrule from Breath of the Wild. It's not quite the same, though, as large portions of the map and entirely new areas can be found hovering in the sky.

Nintendo also launched the official site for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, but other than some new key art and a link to the trailer, there's no other information as of yet. One can expect more will be added as its launch day approaches.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom launches for Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.

Babylon's Fall Shutdown

Square Enix announced that Babylon's Fall will shut down early next year. Starting today, September 13, 2022, all sales of the game's premium currency have been suspended. Sales of the digital and physical version of the game itself will be wound down, as well, though the game is still available as of this writing. The final shutdown of Babylon's Fall is set for February 27, 2023. The game first launched on February 28, 2022, making it almost exactly a year old when it ends service.

Given that the Babylon's Fall team was proclaiming as late as May 2022 that the game wasn't about to go away, it seems that the game never really recovered from a negative early perception, with few players returning to the game after the initial launch bubble. Though its initial crossover event with NieR Automata went off as scheduled in March, the team put a hold on its content plans to "re-evaluate" the future of the game.

As for what will happen from here on, the official site's notice (web archive link here) announcing the Babylon's Fall shutdown says that the team has abandoned plans for "large-scale updates". Instead, the ongoing Season 2 of content will run through November 29, 2022 as scheduled. It'll then give way to the Final Season, where the remaining players can earn their Season 2 ranking rewards. The team intends to implement as many of the remaining events and content initiatives as possible before the final day. According to a calendar on the site, at least three more waves of Event Missions will go live prior to the end of service.

Babylon's Fall is available on PS4, PS5, and PC. It will shut down on February 27, 2023.

fire emblem engage box art

During the Nintendo Direct for September 2022, Nintendo revealed a trailer for a new Fire Emblem game, Fire Emblem: Engage. It will come out on January 20, 2023, and feature past characters from the series such as Marth and Celica. It will return to the tactics element of classic Fire Emblem, as it is part of the mainline series and not a Warriors game like the one that came out before it, Three Hopes.

You can watch the trailer for Fire Emblem: Engage here:

[embed]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ExaJIB5Phk[/embed]

It takes place on Elias, which is a continent that is four realms with a holy land in the center, similar to the setting of Fodlan from Three Houses. From the prologue, past characters such as Lyn and Micaiah are visible as well. The protagonist has awoken from a thousand years of sleep. Visible elements from the trailer include stores, a farm, and some sort of combination move where the characters fuse with legacy units to power up.

There will be a Divine Edition of Fire Emblem: Engage. It will come with an art book, art cards, a SteelBook, and a poster. More information on the game will appear in the near future.

One Piece Film Red Box Office

Just over a month after its debut, Toei Animation announced One Piece Film: Red has surpassed 10 million tickets sold at the box office. This officially makes the film the most watched movie of 2022 in Japan so far. In celebration, Toei Animation will be publishing additional copies of the limited edition One Piece Film: Red comic, which will appear in participating theatres in Japan starting September 17, 2022.

One Piece Film: Red debuted on August 6, 2022, quickly becoming the most successful One Piece film of all time. On the 20th day of showing, Toei announced that the film made over ¥10 billion in ticket sales, or about $70 million. The film's main theme song "Genesis" also reached the top spot on Japan's Apple Music charts.

Azur Lane Queen's Orders OVA - HMS Queen Elizabeth

The long-teased anime adaptation of Azur Lane: Queen's Orders have received a new trailer, and Yostar confirmed that it will appear as an OVA (Original Video Animation). The new trailer for the anime adaptation appeared at the Azur Lane Japanese 5th Anniversary live stream. The same stream also revealed a new major event for the mobile game and an upcoming crossover with Koei Tecmo and Gust's Atelier Ryza 2.

Queen's Orders will star the shipgirl adaptation of HMS Queen Elizabeth, the dreadnought battleship that the Royal Navy launched in the 1910s and named after the 16th-century monarch Elizabeth I. In the original manga, the character acts as the personal secretary for the unnamed Commander, who represents the game's player. However, HMS Queen Elizabeth will take over the Commander's duties of managing the fleet after the latter collapsed from overwork.

Three out of the five Queen Elizabeth-class battleships launched and commissioned in history—HMS Queen Elizabeth, HMS Warspite, and HMS Valiant—have appeared as shipgirls in Azur Lane. All three of them will become main characters in the Azur Lane: Queen's Orders OVA, as shown by the official character trailer that you can watch right below.

[tnm_video layout="mnmd-post-media"]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=luPwi3iTxf4[/tnm_video]

Queen's Orders will not be the first Azur Lane manga series to receive an anime adaptation. The first honors went to Azur Lane: Slow Ahead! in 2021. The latter debuted as a series of four-panel manga chapters published frequently on the mobile game's Japanese Twitter account. The anime show was also available to watch in the West via Crunchyroll.

The anime adaptation of Azur Lane: Queen's Orders will release in an OVA format. The original manga series appeared in the Monthly Comic REX magazine since late 2018, and it is still under active publication as of this writing. The series has generated five tankobon volumes to date, with the newest sixth volume slated for release in Japan on October 27, 2022.

New upcoming hunting game from Koei Tecmo Omega Force and Electronic Arts

Koei Tecmo and Electronic Arts have announced that the companies will work together to develop a new hunting game. Koei Tecmo's Omega Force brand team will develop the AAA-tier game with a fantasy feudal Japanese setting. Electronic Arts will publish it under the EA Originals label.

In the press release, Koei Tecmo Games' executive vice president Yosuke Hayashi noted that Electronic Arts will offer support in both development and publishing. The latter will also help promote the new game with its global resources. This is not the first time Koei Tecmo and Electronic Arts had worked together though, as the latter helped the Japanese company publish the Western releases of the first Samurai Warriors for PlayStation 2 in 2004.

Omega Force had previously made several hunting action games with a feudal Japanese setting, namely the Toukiden series. It first launched Toukiden: The Age of Demons for PlayStation Portable and Vita in June 2013 in Japan and in February 2014 in the West. The team would then release an enhanced edition titled Toukiden Kiwami and a full-fledged sequel taking place on an open-world map. Both Toukiden Kiwami and Toukiden 2 are currently available on PlayStation 4 and PCs.

In 2018, the Toukiden series creator Kenichi Ogasawara revealed his team's desire to produce a Toukiden 3. However, Ogasawara would later move from Omega Force to Kou Shibusawa's team to work on Nobunaga's Ambition: Shinsei. The new press release mentioned that this new game will be an original IP, so it is yet to be known whether the new title will continue the path from the Toukiden series or not.

Koei Tecmo's Japanese press release noted that the companies will reveal more details about this new collaborative game in the latter half of September 2022.

Babylons Fall Shutting Down Feature ImageOut of all of Square Enix's releases in the last few years, Babylon's Fall was perhaps the strangest. A collaboration between Square Enix and Platinum Games sounded great on paper, and by all rights, it should have produced an excellent game. However, earlier today Square Enix announced that it would shut down the servers for Babylon's Fall on February 28, 2023. This comes only six months after the game's release, which is certainly a sad ending for the title. It's no surprise that Babylon's Fall is shutting down, though. After underwhelming reviews from critics and an extremely low amount of players, this was guaranteed to happen at some point. But it's strange that neither Square Enix nor Platinum Games didn't decide to steer the game in a better direction post-release, especially since Square Enix asked fans for their input via a survey. The best example of post-launch support is No Man's Sky, which was able to fix most of its is...

Food Truck Simulator Review 1I love cooking games. There's already a fantastic food truck game, courtesy of Cook, Serve, Delicious! 3, but that series obviously isn't very hands-on. Food Truck Simulator sets out to offer the full experience and, early on, it seems like it might actually make a surprisingly good dish. Driving out to spots and selling the food of your choosing is quite an alluring prospect indeed. But after a few hours, it becomes obvious just how barren and lacking this game is despite some of it appearing to be quite a treat at first. Food Truck Simulator has a surprising amount of narrative elements early on. You play as the son of a food truck pioneer that has left this mortal coil. You inherit his truck, and set out to follow in his footsteps. You're aided by a trio of individuals that give you the pushes you need to make your way in the world, but tragedy strikes early when you piss off a rival food truck operator, and he sets your garage on fire. Despondent, you have to st...

The sequel to Square Enix's exceptional 2019 pixel graphics JRPG was announced at the recent Nintendo Direct. Much like its predecessor, Octopath Traveler 2 will follow the journey of eight adventurers who come together to complete their epic quest.
