PCGamesN Thursday, September 22, 2022 1:22 PM This wasn't the direction we predicted for sci-fi 4X game Stellaris, but colour us intrigued: Ghost Signal: A Stellaris Game is a spin-off of Paradox's grand strategy game, but it's a roguelike action game built for VR, and it's coming to Meta Quest 2 headsets in early 2023. |
PCGamesN Thursday, September 22, 2022 1:17 PM Figuring out a solution for the FIFA 23 First XI SBC isn't an easy task at the best of times thanks to its strict requirements, but that's not the only thing hindering players right now. Unfortunately, at the time of writing, this challenge in the web app for the football game is bugged. So even if you have a squad that matches the criteria, you cannot submit it - the same goes for the FIFA 23 Around The World SBC. When these issues are fixed however, you'll want the cheapest solution possible for the First XI SBC. That's where we come in. The strict requirements for this squad building challenge mean you need to think outside the box, and for our solution, all players hail from Argentina. First XI offers some of the best rewards from the permanent SBCs too, so your chances of netting one of the many FIFA 23 icons or heroes cards are much higher. |
PCGamesN Thursday, September 22, 2022 1:18 PM The FIFA 23 Around The World SBC has launched alongside the web app, but unfortunately there's a problem. The chemistry requirements for this particular squad building challenge are impossible to achieve right now, which is causing confusion within the football game's community. It's not the only one either - the FIFA 23 First XI SBC is also bugged at the moment, so it's simply a waiting game for EA to fix it. These are the squad building challenges that have the best rewards too, so your chance of getting one of the many icons or heroes is higher when the puzzle is eventually fixed. Having a full understanding of the new chemistry system is vital too, as it's vastly different from previous games. |

PCGamesN Thursday, September 22, 2022 12:38 PM Earth: Revival stirs a lot of different ingredients together: there are some systems from survival games, Iron Man flight controls, MMO raiding and housing mechanics, an cannon-toting shiba inu, and some slick shooting. It's a storecupboard cleanout kind of meal, and that comes with good and not-so-good connotations. So let's start with the good. I spend the majority of my hands-on session completing a dungeon, battling back seemingly endless waves of mutant insectoids while dashing between objective nodes, all en route to a boss fight against the hive's queen. It's a brilliant showcase of Earth: Revival's stylish, fast-paced combat. RELATED LINKS: The best MMORPG on PC, Best multiplayer games, Best survival games |
PCGamesN Thursday, September 22, 2022 12:38 PM So you want to know when the next Valorant Night Market is? For those who don't know, the Night Market is another way players can get weapon skins for their favourite Valorant guns outside of the usual bundles or offers. This is a bespoke set of offers on a random set of six weapon skins, so the discounts available will be unique to each player - but they only last a couple of weeks. The Valorant Night Market will feature skins from select, deluxe, and premium collections that released at least two acts prior to the one the market opened in, and it won't feature skins from battle pass or agent contracts. Exclusive and ultra skins are also omitted. Here's everything you need to know about the Valorant Night Market. PCGamesN Thursday, September 22, 2022 12:30 PM The DioField Chronicle, Square Enix's upcoming real-time strategy RPG, has everything you'd want from the masters of fantasy storytelling. On top of the unique, fast-paced combat, there's also an intriguing story full of warring factions, deep betrayals, and wonderfully realised characters with their own motivations, some of which they're keeping to themselves. Oh, and English accents. Lots of those. Before you even get onto the battlefield for the first time, there's already a rich history surrounding the island of DioField and the characters you'll meet, and while you'll learn more about the world and its people just by playing the game, it's always good to know what you're about to step into. Given the strategy element of the game, there's a good chance having some background knowledge is going to be a handy thing. This is where a nice deep lore dive comes in, and fortunately, we're here to facilitate. Without further ado, let's reach into the deep, dark lore of The DioField Chronicle, so you're all ready for the game's launch. First off, we'll look at some of the major locations and factions, the heroes you'll be controlling, and the villains you're going to face off against. |

PCGamesN Thursday, September 22, 2022 10:48 AM The Tower of Fantasy Interdimensional Frostfire Dragon is the world boss featured as part of the Tower of Fantasy 1.5 Artificial Island update, and is undoubtedly the toughest in Hotta Studio's anime game to date. This cybernetic leviathan can be located at the Eyrie, a series of floating platforms above Artificial Island. Just reaching the Eyrie is no mean feat, and that's before you've engaged it in combat. Thankfully, this Interdimensional Frostfire Dragon guide contains all the tips you need to both reach and defeat it. If you're still slumming it in Aesperia, check out our guide on how to get to Artificial Island. Like all world bosses, the Tower of Fantasy Interdimensional Frostfire Dragon respawns an hour after it was previously defeated. This can be a source of frustration if you're eager to take it on yourself, but instead of waiting around in the boss area, keep an eye on your server's world chat to get some idea of when it's likely to become available to fight again. The Frostfire Dragon is a popular world boss in the RPG game, so you should have no trouble finding a team to help you slay it once it has respawned. Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, September 22, 2022 12:15 PM The RPS-beloved turn-based strategy game Solium Infernum is back from the dead. Announced earlier today on stage at EGX London 2022, Armello creators League Of Geeks will be resurrecting and reimagining the game in 2023. Originally released in 2009 by solo dev Vic Davis and his studio Cryptic Comet, Solium Infernum cast you as an Archfiend hoping to stake a claim for Satan's empty throne. With a strong emphasis on political intrigue and Machiavellian backstabbing over taking things by force, this strategy game from hell was a firm RPS favourite back in the day, spawning an eight-part diary series of the team's play-by-email multiplayer adventures. Alas, it never quite found the audience it deserved back in the early 2010s, eventually causing Davis to shut up shop completely in 2015 and pursue a career in tabletop. League Of Geeks are here to change that, though, and after speaking with studio director and co-founder Trent Kusters (both at EGX earlier today and during a hands-off presentation of their pre-alpha demo late last week), it's clear the team have taken great care in bringing Solium Infernum up to date for modern audiences. It leans into all the same kinds of mind games as Cryptic Comet's original, and its simultaneous turn structure is still very much intact – just with lusher 3D visuals, and all-new, revamped menu screens. And it looks devilishly good. Read more |
Rock Paper Shotgun Latest Articles Feed Thursday, September 22, 2022 11:49 AM Playing Wayward Strand feels like navigating a detailed clockwork mechanism. It reminds me of those cuckoo clocks where on the hour every hour a tiny door opens revealing two mechanical dolls that come together and have a 'lil smooch. That's essentially how Wayward Strand works but on a bigger scale. Characters are set on strict routines, following predetermined paths and schedules that are often invisible to you. They welcome an interruption - a friendly natter or helpful hand - but whether you're there or not, they'll go about their business regardless. The world keeps on spinning and all that. It's an interesting way of capturing the passage of time, and in Wayward Strand how you choose to spend that time is pretty important in a game that makes a point of not waiting for you. Read more |

HoYoVerse has released some information, as well as a trailer, for the Judicator of Secrets. He is a supervisor for the researchers of Akademiya, and in gameplay, he will work as a main DPS. He will appear in the Phase I banners alongside new 4-star Candace and returning 5-star Venti. Cyno's Elemental Skill, Invoker's Spear, deals up to four consecutive spear strikes. When you use it while he is in the Pactsworn Pathclearer state, he will instead deal AoE Electro DMG. It will also extend the duration of his Burst. https://twitter.com/GenshinImpact/status/1572799598795448320 His Burst, Sacred Rite: Wolf's Swiftness, works in a way similar to Razor's. He enters the Pactsworn Pathclearer state and all of his attacks deal Electro DMG. He also becomes immune to Electro-Charged DMG and his interruption resistance will increase. During this state, Cyno occasionally enters the Endseer Stance and he can deal AoE Electro DMG with Duststalker Bolt. Though he can only use it during his Burst, it counts as Elemental Skill DMG. https://twitter.com/GenshinImpact/status/1572805724098666496 Cyno's Genshin Impact trailer is more about his lore and character. It shows the fear that Akademiya researchers have for him, as well as the clinical way he approaches his duties. You can watch his trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2bNgDa4nApQ In English, Alejandro Saab provides his voice. Saab has also voiced Yuri from Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Cheng Xiaoshi in Link Click. Cyno's Japanese voice is Miyu Irino. Irino's previous roles include Sora and Vanitas from Kingdom Hearts, as well as Ritsu in Mob Psycho 100. Genshin Impact is readily available on PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Siliconera Thursday, September 22, 2022 11:00 AM ![penny blood new characters header](https://d3fd5j8wprxn3h.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/pennybloodnewcharacters921header.png) Studio Wildrose has shared some new updates on Penny Blood in regards to its characters and SP (Sanity Points) systems. Players familiar with the Shadow Hearts series will recognize SP, but there are some changes to how it works in this game. You will still be able to control your character, with both merits and demerits. [Thanks, Famitsu!] When you lose all of your SP, your character becomes berserk. Again, you will still be able to issue commands, but the Psycho Sigil will go faster and with smaller hitboxes. While your character's ATK will go up, their DEF will go down and they will not be able to defend themselves or escape. However, when insane, they can use hidden abilities. Prior to this update, Studio Wildrose showed off Emilia and Suseri along with Matthew. This time, we have information on over six new characters. [gallery columns="5" link="file" ids="936148,936147,936146,936145,936149"] Luca is a ten-year-old Inheritor from western Ukraine. He was taken away from his parents and lived alone in a castle on a cliff, and has unnatural powers. For example, he can heal wounds with a touch and cause shockwaves when angry. He joins Matthew in order to search for his parents. In battle, he can turn into a wolf, and he uses his small claws and fangs. Vito is from Sicily, and is a fake magician who now resides in Monte Carlo. He is an immoral alcoholic and gambler, but when he uses his real power, he can create illusions and confuse people's hearts. Vito doesn't like to talk about his past associations with an underground organization and he lives in fear from his pursuers. But for some reason, he is kind to Luca and shows off a caring side in his interactions with Matthew. Instead of using weapons, he can copy an enemy's skills and create an identical illusion with his Visualize technique. His C design will appear in-game. Candy Nation is from Eureka Springs, Arkansas, but attends a prestigious school for girls in New York. She is a passionate activist and suffragette, and dreams of becoming the first female American President. Candy Nation is quick to jump to conclusions and has a habit of rampaging on her own. Goliath is a homunculus that Doctor Frankenstein created over a hundred years ago. An explorer found him in the Arctic, and then he was sold off to slavers afterwards. He worked loyally for his various owners, but time has taken its toll on his body and he has lost over half of his original strength. Goliath is scared of others due to misunderstandings from his appearance, but he is very kind at heart. He tries to help Candy after she saved him, but she often ends up lecturing him. He uses a round object in battle. [gallery columns="2" ids="936151,936150" link="file"] There are also some characters who do not appear as party members in Penny Blood. However, they play a part in the main plot, as well as star in their own side stories (Japanese only). Roxane Archambeau is a dhampyr jazz singer who works as a vigilante at night. She is also one of the survivors of the Titanic disaster. The Hellhounders is also a group who plays an important role in side stories. They are a group of assassins who murdered politicians and millionaires after the end of World War I. Penny Blood will come out on PS5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC around Spring 2025. They will come and go as you progress through the story. As well, there are no voice actors yet for anyone. The team plans on implementing them but that will depend on how much money they can get. Party members who aren't actively in the battle will be able to provide support. Director Kaneko has noted that he wants the last boss to be one where all characters are necessary in some way. Alicia Fairhead - She is the only daughter of the former leader of the Order of the Sacred Key, and she is also a part of the group. She only recently got a promotion, and believes in the justice and ideals of the Order. Despite her status as a noble, she is a bright and amiable person. She uses tall spear-like ARMs in battle, and her Gadget is unknown. She likes to play basketball and she is the center. Despite that, she is only 162 centimeters tall.
Euclid Sturges - Euclid is Ingram's childhood friend but they briefly lost contact when his parents moved. In order to fulfill a promise, he returns as a Pathfinder. He is a sarcastic realist, but he is also a bit of a romantic, seeing how much he treasures his childhood promise. He uses staff-like ARMs and his Gadget is unknown. In his spare time, he likes to mess with machines, and then take a long bath, and then read books, and then fall asleep.
Mercedes Rosenberg - Mercedes is from an ancient line of alchemists, which has even more history than the Order of the Sacred Key. Though Mercedes had a bright future, she lost her entire family and townspeople in a massacre that left her as the sole survivor. Underneath her sophisticated exterior, she bears a strong desire for vengeance. She is self-righteous and approaches everything as something to do after her revenge but somehow, she unconsciously does things that end up helping others. Alicia uses cannon-like ARMs that can hit multiple enemies or focus on a single target. She is so into tall and handsome men she could kill them.
Sigurd Geiermeier - Sigurd is formerly from the Order and worked to hunt down heretics who used ARMs for evil. However, a certain incident made him part ways from the church and there is now a bounty on his head. He always gives off the air of an injured animal, and he avoids associating with others. However, he is secretly hot-blooded towards people he trusts. He uses sword-like ARMs, with a fighting style that focuses more on speed and technique. Sigurd is best in one-on-one fights. He likes to eat salmon ochazuke with a bit of wasabi and doesn't like sour dried plums.
Soleil Ainsley - Soleil is part of a group of monster hunters who lives in a hidden village on the outskirts. She just wanted to live a peaceful life but her uncle sent her out into the wilderness to make her see more of the world. She has a careful and introverted personality. In order to avoid conflict with the party, she does not say a lot. But when she wants to say something difficult, she says it under the pretense that she is translating for Strisc. She uses gauntlet-type ARMs and martial arts, and she can apply status ailments. Soleil likes jelly beans and marbled chocolate.
Strisc - An Izuna, which is a species commonly found in this world's forests. It does not really get along with people, but it is friends with Soleil and they are always together. It understands human speech but can't speak it. Strisc can get items or activate distant switches on Soleil's orders.

Siliconera Thursday, September 22, 2022 7:00 AM ![team sonic logo](https://d3fd5j8wprxn3h.cloudfront.net/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/sonicanimatedlogo.png) Sega has a new animated logo for Sonic Team. According to the Creative Director, Kazuyuki Hoshino, this is due to Project Sonic '22. Other than Sonic Frontiers and Sonic Origins, there is going to be more of Sonic on merchandise and social media, as well as collaborations with artists and influencers. He states that he wants fans to know that "when they see this logo, they are guaranteed to get a good game from Sonic Team" and they are working towards that as their goal. Speed is, of course, a key emphasis in the new logo. Yota Suzuki and Taiyo Yamamoto of flapper3 Inc. also note that the design started from the abstract image of Green Hill Zone. This is one of the most famous and iconic Zones in the Sonic franchise. Sega provided the assets for the rings in the logo. You can see the logo, as well as the production process version of it, here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBiXYBt3jKU&t https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yoyKoaFEQa4& The camera work helps to portray a sense of speed. Akira Ito of Marza Animation Planet Inc. also states that speed is a key element in both the logo and the Sonic franchise. So this logo animation combines speed with blue to create one that is very obviously "Sonic." The designers hope that the logo will instill a sense of excitement for a new adventure. Sonic Origins is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch and Windows PC. Sonic Prime will premiere on Netflix in Winter 2022. Lastly, Sonic Frontiers will debut on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC on November 8, 2022. This included a full multiplayer reveal, a first look at Warzone 2, confirmation of a DMZ mode, and more. Shortly after, the Modern Warfare 2 beta went live. This allowed fans to dive into some of the maps, game modes, and the unique third person perspective feature. During the beta, one player encountered something a little different. They found a glitch which took them to the Warzone 2 menu while in the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer beta. While playing the first weekend of the beta which was exclusive to PlayStation users, Reddit user Sybrun found themselves outside of multiplayer. Instead, they were greeted with a screen, which seemed to give them the option to join a Warzone 2 private match. It appears that the Warzone 2 screen remains the same with the new social tab, weapons, operators, and the store. The Warzone 2 menu bug could tell us more about the game Another pla... |

Atlus has stated that the upcoming Super Live P-Sound concert will only be used as a venue to allow fans to reminisce on the funky tunes of Persona, and no major game announcement will be made. Atlus had made some announcements regarding the 25th anniversary of the franchise, but so far, not much in the way of new games. Some fans were expecting the concert to bring to light some of the promised announcements Atlus made, but the official statement indicates that no new reveals or updates will be made at all. The year is wrapping up, and fans are itching for a potential Persona 6 announcement (the original Persona 5 was released nearly six years ago, so it's about the right time). Sadly, they will have to wait a little while longer for some news regarding a sequel. Not time to make history So far, Atlus has only re... |

The PC version's Metacritic score sits at 79, and the Steam user score is at a solid "mostly positive." While fans do not feel positive about every aspect of the game, it has still, by all accounts, turned out a success, especially from a commercial standpoint. And now, Gearbox Software has made it clear that it absolutely sees Tiny Tina's Wonderlands as a success. The company has already started referring to Tiny Tina's Wonderlands as "a new franchise," which means that players can expect to see "new experiences" involving the IP going forward. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford discussed the game's performance and franchise potential at a meeting held by Embracer Group, Gearbox's parent company. He stated that Gearbox "'achieved a major victory'̶... |

Shovel Knight Dig doesn't have the amount of run variation that the previous puzzler had, but there are a ton of level chunks, considering the length of the game. If you just want to see the ending, the developers made it surprisingly easy to blow through the game, even without utilizing the included accessibility features. Unlike the previous title, this does play more like classic Shovel Knight. It might not last you all that long, but there's a high-quality title here all the same. Shovel Knight Dig kicks off with Drill Knight using his titular tool (a drill. By titular I mean his name, not the name of the game. I didn't put enough effort into that bit of alliteration. Apologies.). In the process, he steals Shovel Knight's bag of goodies, so our armored blue bestie jumps into the hole to... |
