World War Z Aftermath zombie hordes are getting even bigger

An update coming this month is making World War Z Aftermath zombie hordes even bigger than they already were. For sheer number of zombies on screen at a time, World War Z already has few competitors - only Days Gone leaps to mind as a possible competitor in undead crowd population. Nevertheless, Saber Interactive has announced that Horde Mode XL is coming to the co-op game January 24, and it'll swell the swarms' sizes to heretofore unseen sizes.

Adding the best MW2 Basilisk loadout into your multiplayer repertoire can put your highlight plays over the top. Doubling up your firepower with the akimbo attachments means that you'll be taking down your opponents as fast as you're able to pull the trigger, and considering just how fast the TTK is in multiplayer, having what amounts to a shotgun in each hand transforms you into a rolling killing machine, especially on smaller maps like Shipment.

FIFA 23 TOTY release date, nominees, and how to vote

FIFA 23 TOTY - Team of the Year, for the uninitiated - is already on the horizon for this, most bizarre of seasons. The World Cup content is now a distant memory on Ultimate Team, and in its place will soon stand a handful of massively overpowered TOTY cards that will cost you a ton of coins to get in your squad if you're not lucky enough to pack one.

FIFA 23 TOTY players are generally the best of the best, and the super rare, overpowered offerings will stay relevant until the very end of the PC game's cycle, so while adding one to your squad may be difficult, it is worth the effort.

Best Warzone 2 loadout drops for Season 1 Reloaded

The best Warzone 2 loadout drops have been officially confirmed, giving players access to their custom setups built in Modern Warfare 2. When the devs first revealed Warzone 2 back in September, players weren't able to acquire entire loadouts from 'The Shop', Warzone's new buy stations. Instead, the shop featured the option to purchase custom weapons for a flat fee, but this decision has been reverted and loadout drops are back once more.

Warzone 2 loadout drops contain both primary and secondary weapons, tactical and lethal equipment, as well as a Warzone 2 perks package. Using Modern Warfare 2's create-a-class system, you can utilise your favourite loadouts on Al Mazrah. Once you call in a loadout drop in the free PC game, you need to keep an eye out for any flankers who may be on the lookout to take your hard-earned reward.

The best management games on PC 2023

The best management games are all about being the one in charge, and we all think we'd do better in charge. Whether it's yelling at the England manager, cursing those clowns in Congress for doing it again, or laughing at Bryce Dallas Howard for running away from dinosaurs in high heels, we all want our shot at being in the hot seat, and the best management games let us do just that.

This explains why the genre remains one of the most enduring and popular in PC gaming. It helps that managing balance sheets, planning cities, and bossing staff around is so easily translated to the keyboard and mouse.      Minecraft Java and Bedrock – what you need to know

Minecraft Java and Bedrock edition launched on PC in 2022, bringing the two main versions of the game to a mutual launcher. But even with the two games living happily as one, it can be a bit confusing as to what the differences are - perhaps more so, in fact. If they're together now, why do we even need two versions?

One of the most popular PC games of all time, Minecraft has come in a number of forms: Xbox edition, Nintendo Switch edition, Pocket edition, Legacy console edition, Java, Bedrock... it's hard to keep up. Essentially, it comes down to console versions being merged over the years, and complications with Windows 1o.

First of all, Minecraft Java is the official name for the original version of the popular crafting game created by Mojang in 2009. It's the version you buy via the Mojang website, although it's also available via PC Game Pass now. Either way, it only runs on PC. Minecraft Bedrock is a new version of the game created by Microsoft in 2017 that simultaneously replaced and unified the console, mobile (formerly known as the Pocket Edition), and Windows 10 store versions of the game.

That means Bedrock is available across multiple platforms, and as PC players we're spoilt for choice as we can choose to play either one of them. Thanks to the recently released Minecraft launcher, we can also manage both installs in one easy place. There are more differences than just what platforms the respective Minecraft versions run on, however, so let's dig into this a little more.

The best sports games on PC 2023

Are you looking for the best sports games on PC? For the longest time, publishers were reluctant to bring their best-selling sports games to PC. Besides EA's annual FIFA release and Sports Interactive's Football Manager series, the sports genre on PC has been pretty sparse up until recently. Nowadays, no matter what sport you're into, you should find something to scratch that competitive itch.

Compared to their console counterparts, the sports games featured on this list usually have smaller player bases, but that doesn't make them inferior. The PC versions of some of these games have a lot to offer, including support for high refresh rates and resolutions beyond 4K. Ever wanted a view of the entire pitch in a football game? That's entirely possible on PC.

     The best Mac VPN 2023

Which is the best Mac VPN for you to use in 2022? Why, what a good question that is. Our personal choice is ExpressVPN, and we've got an overview of the service below.

Skyrim mod turns every NPC into the Dragonborn, and it's chaos

For me, it's the dumber the Skyrim mod, the better. That's not to say silly changes can't completely overhaul the Bethesda RPG game and make it feel fresh - I love seeing what the community does to not only breathe new life into Tamriel, but also make Skyrim the dumbest game alive Luckily both of these boxes get ticked with this new mod, as it makes every single NPC in the game the Dragonborn.

Street Fighter 6 release date, leaks, and more

Want to learn more about the Street Fighter 6 release date? The next evolution of the Street Fighter series is almost here, focusing heavily on single-player elements to ensure there's plenty of content for every level of fighter. Street Fighter 5 was heavily criticised at launch for its lack of playable content outside of versus mode and while this satisfied most high-level players, casual players found there was very little to keep them entertained.

Capcom has taken its time developing Street Fighter 6 to ensure they don't repeat the same mistakes again. It features a brand new single-player story mode which gives players a chance to explore Metro City as a custom fighter. Street Fighter 6 is shaping up to become one of the best fighting games and potentially one of the best PC games overall. The Street Fighter 6 release date has been officially confirmed for Q2 2022.

The best platform games on PC 2023

Looking for a list of the best platform games on PC? Back in the '90s and early '00s, there were countless platformers for console gamers, while the PC had a reputation as a sort of wasteland for this one particular genre. Thankfully, this stigma has lessened since the days of Commander Keen, and we owe that in large part to the explosion of indies that have flooded onto digital platforms over the past decade, meaning our fair platform is now bursting at the seams with solid platform games.

The best platform games have garnered a reputation as requiring mechanical mastery and sublime timing to get into, but developers continue to push the genre forward by introducing gameplay elements from puzzle games and metroidvanias. Platforming can also be a staple mechanic in some of the best story games, as demonstrated in releases like Celeste and Ori and the Blind Forest. Here are the best platform games you can play on your PC right now, which can also extend to the best indie games around.

Tiny Echo by Shelter developers Might and Delight is a real hidden gem. It's very in line with what the studio is known for - creating beautiful handcrafted worlds complete with stories about nature - but with Tiny Echo, instead of making an animal game featuring a group of cute critters trying to survive the brutal wilderness (and that most likely made you cry), the Stockholm team went completely left-field and created a bite-sized ethereal puzzler that deals with ghosts and spirits.

Playing as a one-eyed sprite named Emi, your job is to deliver post to different creatures and spirits that hide within the nooks and crannies of a lush forest. As you join Emi on her rounds, you get to meet the various members of the community as they go about their lives and daily routines in a peaceful, unearthly realm. It's a point-and-click puzzle adventure but in the breeziest of terms. The focus isn't really on brain teasers but exploring this strange world and getting to know its spirit folk.

My main reason for hyping up Tiny Echo is that the vibes are immaculate. It's gorgeous but also eerie, and I'd almost call it spooky, but not in a horror kinda way. With no spoken dialogue or words, Tiny Echo's world is strange and dreamlike, the crisp sound design and Twin Peaks-esque soundtrack adding a slightly surreal and ethereal feel to everything. There's also a lot of emphasis on smoke and shadows, which make the entire world seem like it's about to dissipate with one gust of wind.

6.3 Honkai Impact 3rd Outfits for Carole and Griseo Shown

Whenever a new Honkai Impact 3rd update arrives, that also means new outfits, and Carole and Griseo are getting new costumes in 6.3. To prepare for that, HoYoVerse showed the official art for both looks. Each one appeared in new Honkai Impact 3rd wallpapers.

First, here's how Carole's Sweet 'n' Spicy battlesuit outfit Freestyle Special will look in the first set of Honkai Impact 3rd wallpapers. People can get this costume for taking part in the Bustling Holiday Symphony event. That's the one that involves picking a side and taking on areas and tasks.
[gallery size="full" columns="2" ids="946217,946218" link="file"]

Next, this is the Griseo Starry Impression outfit Maroon Riding Hood people can acquire in Honkai Impact 3rd. Unlike Freestyle Special, you can't earn it. You need to use crystals at Homu's Treasury to get it.
[gallery columns="2" size="full" ids="946219,946220" link="file"]

As a reminder, we also already know the new battlesuit debuting in 6.3. It will be the Herrscher of Truth for Bronya. This is an S-rank suit for her. It is also her second Herrscher one, as she also has the Herrscher of Reason battlesuit that appeared in a past update.

Honkai Impact 3rd is available for the PC and mobile devices. The 6.3 update will appear on January 12, 2023.

Gundam Aerial

With the next season of Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury coming in April 2023, Bandai is getting ready to sell some model kits. A new trailer showed off a kit based on the Gundam Aerial Rebuild, the upgraded version of Witch from Mercury's main mobile suit. Aerial Rebuild was first seen in the 12th episode finale season 1. It spent some time in the shop to repair damage sustained in episode 10 [Thanks, Dengeki!].

Check out the preview trailer for the HG Gundam Aerial Rebuild kit. "HG" stands for "High Grade," the most common and popular grade of complexity used for Bandai's model kit lineup.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QC2913jhuFg

The trailer recalls the closing battle of episode 12, where Suletta in Aerial fought against two other mobile suits: Lfrith Ur and Lfrith Thorn. Though the preview only shows CG, some of the highlights from the Gundam Aerial Rebuild design can already be seen. Compared to the basic design of Aerial from the show, the upgraded model mounts a pair of powerful wing-like boosters on the shoulders, which also feature more prominent pauldrons colored in blue. The yellow parts from the original design are gone, and overall the suit has a bulkier, more armored look. Additional V-fins on the head also give Aerial's "face" a more aggressive appearance.

Gundam Aerial Rebuild also retains the same abilities the original designs had. Its Bit Staves can operate independently, firing beams or coming together to form the Escutcheon shield. Its improved Beam Rifle can also be combined with the Bit Staves into a GUND-Bit Cannon, allowing Aerial to discharge massive firepower. These abilities are used in conjunction with Suletta herself, who has a unique relationship with Aerial and its systems. In the prologue short story, it is revealed that Aerial is intelligent, and that it and Suletta can communicate somehow. They consider each other family, and both call Suletta's mother (and Aerial's creator) Prospera Mercury "Mom".

The Gundam Aerial Rebuild model kit goes on sale in March 2023. Other kits based on mobile suits from Season 1 are available at various retailers.

Splatoon 3 Spicy/Sweet/Sour Splatfest Results Confrimed

Nintendo revealed the winner of the fourth Splatoon 3 Splatfest, which asked players to pick between spicy, sweet, and sour flavors. This one marked Frye's first win, as Team Sweet won the first event of 2023. Shiver's Team Spicy came in second. Big Man and Team Sour placed third.

This means that now each Deep Cut member's team won at least once. The ahead-of-launch Splatoon 3 Splatfest saw Shiver and Team Rock win in the Rock-Paper-Scissors match. Shiver's team also took first place the second time around with a deserted island question asking if people would bring along gear, grub, or things to have fun. Big Man's team ended up getting its first win with the Pokemon starter Splatfest. The people who supported picking water-type starters won that one.

As a reminder, ahead of the event, Nintendo released official art of the three Splatoon 3 Deep Cut characters. It featured each one with the type of food they were representing. So in the picture, for example, Frye was eating cake and other desserts.

Splatoon 3 is available for the Nintendo Switch, and there's no date for the fifth Splatfest yet.

Disgaea 7 Fuji

Disgaea 7 is approaching release in Japan, and Nippon Ichi Software is releasing a series of character trailers to introduce players to the game's cast. The first of the trailers deals with Disgaea 7 protagonist Fuji. Future trailers from Nippon Ichi will cover characters like Piririka, Weyasu, and others introduced in previous reveals.

In Disgaea 7 Fuji is a demon from the Hinomoto Netherworld. Despite the Netherworld's reigning crisis, in which the Demon Admiral Opener has robbed the Hinomoto of its "Bushido", Fuji hates the concept. Fuji instead chooses to "Go Bad," in battle, sticking to his motto "Win, and you're a hero; Lose, and you're a lackey." Thus he aims to win, no matter what he has to do. Even if that means cowardly ambushes and dirty tricks, Fuji will do it all if it means he wins. He was taught swordsmanship from Hinomoto's greatest swordsman, Higan Zesshousai, who was introduced in November 2022.

Fuji's also got an almost physical allergy to human emotion. Whenever he feels things as a human might, like feeling gratified when a person thanks him, he's so pained that he coughs up blood. In the story, the Bushido-hating Fuji must team up with Piririka, a Bushido fangirl to save the Netherworld.

Check out the first Disgaea 7 character trailer below.

Disgaea 7 arrives on the PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch on January 26, 2023 in Japan. Currently no international release plans have been detailed.

My Best Buy Reward Points Soon Require a Best Buy Credit Card

Best Buy is altering its My Best Buy program to remove the ability for all members to earn reward points. The company announced that, starting on February 14, 2023, it will not allow standard members to earn points. Rather, this will be reserved as a bonus for people who hold the My Best Buy Credit Card. It also announced free shipping for people who are members, but don't have the credit card. [Thanks, Wario64!]

The announcement did explain what Best Buy will do for existing My Best Buy members who still have reward points or earn them before the cut-off date. By April 15, 2023, people will get a reward certificate that can be used to pay for items with points. As a reminder, this program allowed people to use earned points to get things like $5 rewards with points.

The rewards program involved various benefits. In addition to the soon-to-be-ended reward points and the free shipping, people would be able to get exclusive offers. Things like tracking and "home experts" for troubleshooting or assistance are also a part of it.

This comes after Best Buy eliminated another reward program in recent years. It shut down Best Buy Gamers Club Unlocked, which involved discounts on games and My Best Buy points, in 2018. It then removed the program completely for those who stacked membership subscriptions in March 2021.

Regular My Best Buy members can continue earning reward points until February 14, 2023.

Genshin Impact Account Security Reminder Issued After Phishing Issues

HoYoVerse shared a warning about Genshin Impact phishing attempts and reiterated security measures players can take when playing the game. The company noted people reporting phishing sites, which led to accounts being compromised. As part of its advice for avoiding such situations, it reminded people to always check to ensure it is an official HoYoVerse and Genshin Impact site and to avoid plug-ins or unofficial sources.

Here is HoYoVerse's official statement and advice on Genshin Impact account security to combat phishing, which it shared on the game's website.

Recently, we have received feedback from Travelers through community and customer service channels that some Travelers have logged in to phishing sites from unknown sources, resulting in problems such as unauthorized logins and account theft. We take all feedback of this nature extremely seriously and will promptly investigate and follow up on each case based on the information provided by Travelers.

In the process of checking accounts with security risks, we found that many of these accounts have logged in to third-party websites and applications from unknown sources. While we continue to crack down on illegal phishing websites and enhance account security through technical means, we hope that Travelers:

  1. Do not rely on information from unofficial platforms or log on to pages from unknown sources, such as: pages for topping up Primogems, selling accounts, etc
  2. Do not use external or third-party plug-ins.
  3. Do not provide sensitive security information such as account passwords, SMS, and email verification codes to others. Do not share your account with others.
  4. Please verify the official domain name when logging in and downloading: hoyoverse.com, hoyolab.com, genshinimpact.com, hoyo.link.

If you have exposed your account to any of the above risks, we recommend changing the password as soon as possible to ensure account security.

If you discover any other security-related issues with your HoYoverse account, Genshin Impact, and other products, please contact us via various channels (including but not limited to the HoYoLAB App, the Genshin Impact Customer Service email address genshin_cs@hoyoverse.com, or other means). We are ready and willing to resolve any and all issues that may arise. Thank you for your support!

As a reminder, there is 2FA account verification for Genshin Impact as a security member. That feature appeared back in May 2021. That is only available for people playing on a PC or mobile device.

Genshin Impact is available for the PS4, PS5, PC, and mobile devices. The 3.4 update will arrive on January 18, 2023.

Hololive English Vtuber Ninomae Ina'nis Returns from Her Break

A Hololive English Myth Vtuber returned to streaming activities. Following a break that began in October 2022 for health reasons, Ninomae Ina'nis is once again active. She returned for her first stream of 2023, which aired on January 8, 2023.

Ina'nis isn't the only Hololive English Myth Vtuber on break as of late. Gawr Gura announced in December 2022 that she'd be suspending streaming activities while she recovered from health issues. However, she did participate in the annual Hololive Mario Kart New Year Tournament alongside Ouro Kronii and Amelia Watson.

As for the other three members, they've all been rather active lately. Kiara Takanashi recently did some streams with Hololive members like Inugami Korone. Calliope Mori released the album Sinderella. Amelia recently celebrated her birthday, which involved a special stream and merchandise.

Here is the first Ninomae Ina'nis stream of 2023. It is purely a chat stream going over recent events and things she'd done. She mentioned her encounters meeting other Hololive English Vtubers like Calliope and IRyS, spending time with other Hololive Japan Vtubers like Houshou Marine, and capybaras.

FFVII Cocktails Seventh Heaven

January 9, 2023 is "Coming of Age Day" in Japan, and the official Final Fantasy VII Remake account dropped some trivia about Seventh Heaven to celebrate. In FFVII and its Remake, Seventh Heaven is the establishment run by heroine Tifa Lockheart. It's a secret base for Barret's Avalanche cell, but also an operating bar and eatery. There she serves a variety of drinks, including a few FFVII cocktails, which the account identified, helping to fill out the growing menu of Midgar.

https://twitter.com/ffviir_cloud/status/1612283152038301697

According to the post, two of the more popular FFVII cocktails that "invigorate the Sector Seven Slums" are the "Cosmo Canyon," the green-colored "Lifestream," and one named after the bar itself, the "Seventh Heaven." The post also goes on to encourage the young people celebrating Coming of Age Day to have their first drink in the slums responsibly.

In Japan, Coming of Age Day celebrates turning 20 years old. From 1876 until 2022, the official age of adulthood in Japan was 20, and was the age when people could legally drink, smoke, bet on various public gambling pastimes, and enroll in the National Pension Plan, among other rights. In April 2022, the Japanese government adjusted the age of maturity for certain rights (such as marriage without parental consent, obtaining a credit card or cellphone contract without parental consent, and petitioning for gender reassignment) to 18 years old. However, the drinking age remains at 20.

Final Fantasy VII Remake contains various scenes of Cloud Strife and other characters having a drink or two, including one of Cloud's first interactions with Tifa at the beginning of the game. Tifa even serves Cloud an FFVII cocktail, the red-colored Cosmo Canyon in Chapter 3. In that scene she calls it the house special. Cloud is 21 years old, and Tifa 20, placing them both above the drinking age, though it is unknown if Midgar's age of maturity is the same as Japan's.

FFVII Remake is available on PC, PS4, and PS5. Its sequel, FFVII Rebirth, is in development. You can also try the non-alcoholic Banora White Juice from Crisis Core.

Mobile Suit Gundam Witch from Mercury Season 2

The continuation of Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch from Mercury has been set. The twelve episode and finale of the first season of the show aired on January 8, 2023 on most services. Following the conclusion, the official Twitter account for the series announced a broadcast window for the next batch of episodes. Gundam The Witch from Mercury season 2 will air in April 2023, a break of about three months.

In Japan, the series will air on the MBS and TBS networks, as well as 28 other channels throughout the country.

https://twitter.com/g_witch_m/status/1612004473324589058

For international markets, release plans have not yet been announced. Streaming services including Crunchyroll, Netflix, and the Bandai-run GundamInfo YouTube channel all carried The Witch From Mercury season 1 in various regions. Bandai even expanded the distribution for the GundamInfo-hosted version to new countries, though on a stagged schedule.

For those who've yet to catch up, Mobile Suit Gundam The Witch From Mercury season 2 promises to pick up on the cliffhanger that closed out season 1. Suletta Mercury is the pilot of the Aerial, and a student at the Asticassia School of Technology. There the children of elite solar system corporations settle conflicts in mobile suit duels. At the outset of the story, Suletta and Aerial are guarding a secret: Aerial is a Gundam, a mobile suit incorporating forbidden "GUND" format technology. The users of Gundams and the developers of GUND tech are called witches and persecuted by the world under the orders of Delling Rembran, head of the Benerit Group of companies and one of the most powerful men in the system.

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury will air its next season in April 2023. The first season is available from various services.

Dead Space Remake SequelThe Dead Space remake is finally releasing in just a few weeks. And there's currently a sweet deal for players who pre-order the game on Steam before its launch on January 27. These players will receive a free copy of the sequel alongside the Dead Space remake. That means that you'll be able to continue Isaac Clarke's storyline immediately after beating the first game. It's quite a nice treat, especially since Dead Space 2 is often regarded as the best game in the franchise. It does bring up some interesting questions for the future of Dead Space, though. If the Dead Space remake sells and performs well with fans, then it stands to reason that its sequel would get the remake treatment too. Perhaps giving Dead Space 2 away for free is the best option to get new players to experience the original version of the sequel. And then these players can better appreciate the changes that a Dead Space 2 remake would bring. Of course, that's looking pretty far into t...
