Tchia's island is a marvel to behold. Not only is it gorgeous, but it's bursting with things to do: sailing, climbing, totem carving, gliding, pearl diving, sharpshooting, tree hopping, treasure hunting - the list goes on and on. Not only that, but there's a 10-hour story to follow, quests to complete, and baddies to tussle with. It's a lot, but Awaceb seem to take it all in their stride. Never once does Tchia feel like it's bursting at the seams; its balance of activities, exploration and story make it feel perfectly whole. The game's incredible scope doesn't feel like the debut of a nine-person team, but astonishingly, it is. We've had a good run of Bestest Bests on RPS this month, and I'm more than happy to extend it because Tchia is an absolute triumph. |

At the beginning of chapter two in Tchia, the first quest is to find two pearls for Tre for coutume to show appreciation for his help. However, you're on a home floating in the middle of the ocean and, if you didn't pick up the stamina-increase near Tchia's home island, you might have drowned trying to find these items. While it can be a bit tricky, since the game doesn't tell you how to find them, it isn't too difficult. You want to have Tchia jump into the ocean and dive to get the pearls for coutume. When she's in the water, press X to descend and hold it until you reach the bottom. You're looking for a big, pink clam. One is under Tre's house, in the middle of the ocean floor. When you get close, you'll see a white, circular indicator. The name "Clam Pearl" will also show up above it. Press the square button on a PS4 or PS5 controller to get it. In Paranormasight, you experience the story of three different curse bearers who are involved in a battle royale over the Rite of Resurrection. While the story unfolds over their differing perspectives, one of them perfectly exemplifies the game's themes and what it wants to say. Harue is, even though she is perhaps not the main protagonist, definitely the strongest of all the characters in Paranormasight. Editor's Note: This article will involve spoilers for Paranormasight's characters and story.Let's quickly go over the three main playable characters in Paranormasight. Tsutsumi is a police officer who wants to stop the Rite of Resurrection. So he goes around collecting curse stones from everyone. Yakko is a high school student whose former best friend recently committed suicide. Her discovery of her friend's tragic secrets makes her want to use the Rite of Resurrection to try and bring her back. However, her friend Mio and Tsutsumi both convince Yakko not to go through with it. Harue is a mother whose family is distant and her son was recently murdered. She hires private investigator Richter to find out who killed her son and then, after she gets her curse stone, to track down fellow curse bearers. [gallery columns="1" size="full" ids="956132" link="file"] There was never any question as to whether or not Yakko and Tsutsumi would use the Rite of Resurrection. Though Yakko felt tempted, Mio convinced her to avoid using the Rite. The narrative also went out of its way to establish that Yakko and Michiyo had drifted apart. Harue, on the other hand, has a story that is highly relatable. Even if you're not a mother yourself, you can understand the pain and grief that a mother would go through if she lost her son in a manner as tragic as murder. What's worse for Harue is that she feels the death could have been prevented if the police hadn't prioritized their reputation over the life of her son. Unlike the other two, there was some real narrative tension behind Harue and the Rite. How far would you go for your child? In fiction, parents usually go fairly far. But despite "How far would you go?" being one of the questions in the game's tagline, what Paranormasight is really asking is: "What would you do if the power to resurrect someone exists?" And the answer to this question is that you should destroy it. You really shouldn't use it at all and it shouldn't exist to begin with. All of the tragedies in Paranormasight stem from the idea of bringing someone back. In Harue's conversation with Ayame, Ayame points out that Harue's desire to resurrect her son is for herself. Harue wants her son back but does her son want to return? How would her son feel if he comes back and finds out that his mother killed people for him? Even if Harue accomplished her original goal and stole someone else's curse stone, his revival would still be on the deaths of others.
Though Harue is the one who is the most desperate for the Rite, she lacks the determination others do. This is because she needs to remain alive and free to take care of her son once he returns. In the story, Nejima and Ayame are also characters who actually plan to go for the Rite. Nejima has no qualms over murdering people. Meanwhile, Ayame manipulates others around her to use the curse, as well as actively uses it herself. Ayame is essentially Harue's foil; she does everything that Harue stated that she would do, but for reasons that are far less sympathetic. But a good reason doesn't excuse what Ayame does. I mean, Nejima kills people for his lover and he comes across as a monster. The game does not glorify the idea of killing in someone else's name. It shows it for what it is: selfish, brutal, and barbaric. While Tsutsumi's career and paranormal knowledge allows him to move the plot in a way that sets him up as something close to the main protagonist, Harue is the most important of the playable characters due to her arc being so close to the game's themes. In fact, I'd say that she could be the only playable character in Paranormasight and the game would remain good. Of course, they would need to rewrite some parts of it since Harue remains separate from the majority of the main conflict. Most people would indeed want to use the power of resurrection. But the game's message, as well as Harue's ultimate lesson, is that only misfortune lies beyond such a pipe dream. Paranormasight is readily available on the Nintendo Switch and Windows PC. Square Enix once again took to Twitter to discuss details about Final Fantasy. This time, it went over the weapons Yuffie and Sonon wield in the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intermission storyline. It showed concept art of all four of Yuffie's and the three Sonon can end up using. In the case of Yuffie's, it also showed how the Kisaragi emblem ends up featured on them. First, here's a closer look at the Yuffie Final Fantasy VII Remake Intermission weapons. From left to right, there's the 4-Point Shuriken, the Steel Reaper, the Boomerang, and the Cacstar. The 4-Point Shuriken is her starting weapon in the side-story. The appearance of the Kisaragi Emblem is especially clear in the 2D concept art. It appears on one of the shuriken's blades, in the center of the Steel Reaper, in the center of the Boomerang, and on the Cacstar's "belt." Next, here are Sonon's Final Fantasy VII Remake weapons. From left to right, there's the Marshalist's Staff, Indurate Staff, and Djinn Staff. The Marshalist's Staff is his starting equipment. Square Enix often shares these details. Like with a good majority of support characters in Genshin Impact, you really only need to prioritize a few certain factors when choosing a weapon for Yaoyao. You can either choose to focus on how often she can use her Burst or how efficient her Burst is per use. This guide will give you a few options on what spears would work best for Yaoyao as a support. Before we begin, let's quickly go over how Yaoyao works. Both her Skill and her Burst deal Dendro DMG while simultaneously healing her allies. This makes her a wonderful support for the large majority of DPS characters due to Dendro's powerful Elemental Reactions. Since her Elemental Bust is fairly expensive for a support character, Yaoyao needs weapons that can help her with her Energy Recharge. Some Polearms you can consider are: Staff of Homa This is kind of ridiculous because Staff of Homa is a great spear for your DPS but hear me out. Yaoyao's healing scales off of her Max HP, and Staff of Homa boosts that by 20%. To make the most of her Elemental Burst, Yaoyao also needs to remain on the field. This is because swapping her off will remove the Yueguis that she summons. Staff of Homa makes Yaoyao far more versatile. You can either keep her on the field during her Burst as the main DPS or you can just enjoy the 20% HP boost and keep her in a healer role. Staff of the Scarlet Sands Staff of the Scarlet Sands is for a Yaoyao with a more offensive play style. It grants bonus ATK based on 52% of her Elemental Mastery, and this bonus increases whenever you hit an opponent with your Elemental Skill. Yaoyao is a Dendro character and Dendro characters all generally need fairly high EM. This Polearm is really more for if you want your Yaoyao to have more on-screen presence to take advantage of her Burst. Favonius Lance If you don't have anyone else who needs Favonius Lance, this can be a fairly good weapon for Yaoyao. As mentioned earlier, her Burst is expensive and her natural ER is not fantastic. So anything that will allow her to spam it more is good. This is if you want the Burst either to heal your whole party or if you want to actually use Yaoyao as an on-field attacker. Moonpiercer Moonpiercer is essentially a free weapon that you can get once you finish all of the Aranara quests. So it's a fairly good choice for F2P players. This is good for support Yaoyao. Not only is the sub stat for this Polearm EM (which is always fantastic for Dendro), its effect also focuses on Dendro Elemental Reactions. Every time you trigger one, you get a Leaf of Revival. This will grant an ATK boost to the character who picks it up. You will likely have to play Yaoyao as an off-field Skill support to make the most of Moonpiercer. Kitain Cross Spear/Dragon's Bane Like the above Moonpiercer, the Kitain Cross Spear and Dragon's Bane are Elemental Mastery stat sticks. Which one you want to use depends on how your Yaoyao will operate, as well as her team comp. The Kitain Cross Spear increases her Elemental Skill DMG by 6%. Every time she hits someone with her Skill, she loses 3 Energy but regenerates 3 Energy every 2 seconds for the next 6 seconds. Dragon's Bane's effect mostly comes into play if you run her in a Bloom or Burning team since it increases damage against enemies affected by Hydro or Pyro by 20%. As for which one you should use, the Kitain Cross Spear is better if you plan on actually using Yaoyao. For example, you want her to remain on the field to make the most of her Burst or as an actual sub DPS. The Dragon's Bane is more if you want to use her as a Dendro enabler and applier. Black Tassel Finally, the Black Tassel is for people who don't really have better options and just want her for her healing. Its passive ability is kind of useless because it only affects Slimes. But its main sub stat boosts her HP. It naturally has a low ATK because it's a 3-star weapon but for healer Yaoyao, that's just enough. Genshin Impact is readily available on the PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. As a 4-star character, Yaoyao is always in the gacha pool.
