Diablo 4 Druid won't be changing anytime soon despite backlash

In the wake of recent beta tests, the Diablo 4 Druid has come under fire from the action RPG game's fanbase, both because its abilities failed to impress, and because the character model was a bulkier, more rugged interpretation of the age-old Diablo 4 summoner. In a recent roundtable, I asked lead class designer Adam Jackson and lead game producer (story and narrative) Melissa Corning whether or not we'll see any changes to the character's physique.

Honkai: Star Rail throws you into the body of an amnesiac protagonist with unknowable hidden powers who has been awakened from a deep slumber by someone called Kafka. This woman is something of a mystery and seems to have a flair for the dramatic as she kicks off the whole game by playing an invisible violin along to the classic Baroque epic Pachelbel's Canon as massive, intergalactic monsters invade a spaceship.

It's an incredibly cool opening, the kind of thing that John Wick would watch to get pumped up before, well, John Wick-ing all over the place. It's pretty clear that Kafka isn't a hero, but they've woken you up, and since you've got no memories, you must be one of the good guys. This setup feels familiar, but there are enough changes to make it feel new and get the blood thoroughly pumping.

Honkai: Star Rail features an in-game currency system that will allow for players to roll on limited-time banners, with the Star Rail Special Pass being one such item players will need. In order to obtain a Star Rail Special Pass, players will need Stellar Jade. This currency can be obtained by going through the story, and by completing objectives and unlock achievements. However, this currency comes in at a fairly sluggish pace. Which means that players will more than likely want to hoard their Stellar Jade in Honkai: Star Rail to obtain the Star Rail Special Pass.

Star Rail Special Pass Honkai Star Rail

Once you have the required Stellar Jade (which is 160 Stellar Jade for a single Star Rail Special Pass), head over to the "Store" menu. From there go to the "Stellar Trade" option and you'll find two different selectable tickets. One is the Star Rail Special Pass, while the other is the Star Rail Pass. The difference between the two is what kinds of banners they can be used on. For example, the Star Rail Pass can be used on any normal banner, which includes the regular "Stellar Warp" option. Whereas the Star Rail Special Pass is exclusively used on limited time banners. These are signified by the "Event" in their title in the Warp section.

There are other ways to obtain the Star Rail Special Pass. One is by rolling on banners. Rolling on banners will allow you to acquire the "Undying Embers" item, which is effectively pity currency. This currency can be used through the Embers Exchange option to redeem for a total of 5 Star Rail Special Passes a month for 90 Undying Ember a piece. You can also get 5 standard Star Rail Passes a month with the currency. But it's best saved for the Star Rail Special Pass.

Finally, there is the Nameless Honor battle pass. If you pay for the Nameless Glory tier, achieving daily, weekly, and patch period goals will earn you experience that lets you hit new tiers. Some tiers include this kind of pass as a reward.

Honkai: Star Rail will come to the PC and mobile devices on April 26, 2023. It will also eventually appear on the PS4 and PS5.

Honkai Star Rail Change Avatar

Honkai: Star Rail features a player character that you will control throughout your time in the game, with a selectable avatar being made available at the tail end of the prologue mission. Players will have the option to pick one of two player avatars as their Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Rail, but you won't be able to change it once you've made your decision. Both options are purely cosmetic and have no impact on the gameplay.

There are male and female player character avatars in Honkai: Star Rail, and before finalizing your selection the game will warn you that you can not change to the other Trailblazer option once you've made your decision. Again, this has little bearing on the gameplay, and will just impact the avatar of the player character. That said, if you're not at all interested in running around as the player character, you can swap between any character in your party and wander around as them instead.

Honkai: Star Rail will come to the PC and mobile devices on April 26, 2023. It will also eventually appear on the PS4 and PS5. A special Twitch drop campaign for the game will run from April 26, 2023 to March 24, 2023. Players can obtain in-game currency and level-up materials by watching participating streams on Twitch.

Should You Beat Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Before Future Redeemed?

The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed expansion is here, and someone might wonder if they should or need to beat the main campaign before playing the DLC. It's a good question! Especially since characters from past Xenoblade Chronicles games, like Shulk and Rex, both appear. Not to mention it references a lot of things people don't see in the third entry until they're well into its story or perhaps even beat it. Nintendo doesn't bar you from starting it if you haven't completed the main Xenoblade Chronicles 3 campaign, so you can select that story right away.

So should you beat Xenoblade Chronicles 3 before starting Future Redeemed?

If you want to, you can. It isn't necessary. However, due to the appearances of certain characters and storyline elements, I'd say at least getting to chapter six in the main campaign first. There are a lot of details about the City and the world's past that are touched on here. That extra context could hel you out a lot.
[caption id="attachment_960776" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Should You Beat Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Before Future Redeemed? Screenshot via Siliconera[/caption]

Do I need to beat Xenoblade Chronicles 1 and 2 before Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed?

The additional context helps a lot. All three games are connected, and knowing who Shulk and Rex are and why they matter is a big deal. Especially since both characters play parts in this new storyline. Those are both massive games, however. If you beat them a while back or played some of them, it will help a lot to offer context. But if you really care more about Xenoblade Chronicles 3, want to just jump into it, and are okay with spoilers, it might be wise to read up on what happened in both games first.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the Future Redeemed DLC, and patch 2.0.0 are available for the Nintendo Switch.

Honkai: Star Rail, while visually similar to Genshin Impact, is a game of it's very own. Focusing on turn-based, strategic battles, players will have their skills tested against a wide array of foes. But much like Genshin Impact, Honkai: Star Rail boasts an array of different voice audio options which includes Japanese, Korean and Chinese. Players can seamlessly make the switch between all voice packs at any given time, as soon as they're able to open up their menu.

After completing the first mandatory battle and cutscene, which isn't skippable, you can immediately open up your options menu. From there, click the little gear to bring up the the game settings. The third icon from the left, which you can see in our example below, is where you can change the voice audio in Honkai: Star Rail to Korean, Chinese, or Japanese. Players will need to download the required voice packs to use them, however.

[caption id="attachment_960770" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Change Audio Honkai Star Rail Japanese Screenshot via Siliconera[/caption]

You can also choose to delete any voice packs you're not using to save space by selecting the "Voice Pack Resource Management" option when selecting your audio language of choice. Additionally, you can download it again at a later date if you want to swap back. You also don't need to quit the game for the audio swap to take place.

Honkai: Star Rail  is available on PCs and mobile devices, and it will also come to PlayStation consoles like the PS4 and PS5. Celebrating the release of the game, Twitch drops will be available to obtain through participating Twitch channels until late May 2023.

How to Start the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC

Now that the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed expansion DLC is available, people may wonder how to start the new adventure. Fortunately, it falls in line with past additional stories like Xenoblade Chronicles' Future Connected and Xenoblade Chronicles 2's Torna ~ The Golden Country. You just buy the Expansion Pass, then select it from the main menu.

[caption id="attachment_960764" align="alignnone" width="1200"]How to Start the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC Screenshot via Siliconera[/caption]

How to start and play Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC

First, buy the Expansion Pass for Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It's $29.99 on the eShop. Unlike Torna - The Golden Country, it isn't sold in any standalone form. When you do make this purchase, you'll also get the previous three waves of content that add new heroes, costumes, and challenges to the main game.

Next, after updating your game to 2.0.0 and downloading the DLC, head into the main game. On the starting menu, there's a new banner that tells you to press the cross button to access the Future Redeemed expansion. There'll be a brief warning that explains how greatly it ties into past games, in the event you haven't beaten them. However, you don't need to beat the game and can hop right into that storyline.

Once you're on the Future Redeemed title screen, you can start a new game. It will then let choose the Easy, Normal, or Hard difficult level and begin. (The difficulty can be changed in the options at any time.)

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and the Future Redeemed DLC are available for the Nintendo Switch.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Patch Notes for 2.0.0 Detail Fixed Swimwear Bug

Nintendo updated Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and shared the patch notes for the 2.0.0 update. As expected, it adds support for the new Future Redeemed expansion. However, it also fixes a big issue with the swimwear. Prior to this, it was possible to get an error that would make it say a player had completed the challenges to get the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 swimsuits from a past add-on, but not actually have the swimwear.

The swimsuits were a part of the Expansion Pass' second wave of content. People could complete challenges to earn swimwear for all of the main Xenoblade Chronicles 3 characters, and now everyone who experienced the issue will immediately get the swimsuits. Nintendo noted that anyone who had this happen after starting a new game will find the outfits in their inventory after applying the patch.

Here are the full patch notes for the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 2.0.0 update.

Additions to Spec

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where starting a NEW GAME after acquiring swimwear would make the player unable to receive the swimwear.

    • In the event that this issue is already affecting your game, updating the title will cause the swimwear to already be acquired.
  • Fixed an issue where a character's status display in battle would remain the same as when interlinked.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3, the Future Redeemed DLC, and patch 2.0.0 are available for the Nintendo Switch.

Lost Ark Slayer North America

Smilegate and Amazon Games announced that a new class will appear in Lost Ark in May 2023: the Slayer. As part of the MMORPG's content roadmap, players will have the opportunity to create a Slayer sometime next month. A more concrete date as to when the Slayer will appear will arrive in the future.

Like the Destroyer and Berserker, the Slayer is a two-handed DPS class in Lost Ark. This is more or less Smilegate's answer to gender-locking both the Destroyer and Berserker, which means the Slayer will be a female-exclusive class. Players will also need to create an entirely new character to create their very own Slayer once it arrives. The Slayer is already available in the Korean version of the game.

You can see more of the second part of the Lost Ark content roadmap below.

[embed]https://twitter.com/playlostark/status/1650896316657176576[/embed]

Lost Ark has seen several major content updates appear since it's Western release in February 2023. This has included the addition of several high tier raids, and the inclusion of the Artist and Reaper as new classes. The game has also received some overhauls concerning its gold system. This was done in an attempt to help solidify the in-game economy in both the North American and European servers, due to the high amount of gold sellers in the game itself.

Lost Ark is available on PC through the Steam storefront.

Honkai Star Trail Twitch Drops

HoYoVerse announced there will be a Honkai: Star Trail Twitch drops event. It will begin once the game launches on April 26, 2023. It also went over the steps to start earning items, noted which streams will reward items, and offered a hint as to what people can collect for watching other people play. Once you do that, all you need to do is watch streams of the game. The company didn't specify any specific streamers or streams.

Here are some of items that will be sent to your in-game inbox after watching and claiming items at your Twitch Drops rewards inventory page, as well as what they do.

Wild Hearts Wo Long Sales

Sales for Wild Hearts and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty are strong according to Koei Tecmo in an April 2023 financial report. While exact numbers were not disclosed, the developer revealed that due to the success of both titles, it achieved record high sales. Koei Tecmo may potentially reveal more concrete information concerning the sales of both Wild Hearts and Wo Long at a later date. [Thanks, Famitsu!]

Wild Hearts, made in collaboration with EA, was off to a somewhat rocky start in PC, with multiple performance issues reported after its release. However, Koei Tecmo has continued to support the game with post-launch content. This includes new Kemono, massive fearsome beasts players are tasked with slaying, rolling out through scheduled updates.

Similar to Wild Hearts, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is another new Koei Tecmo action title. While it draws some comparison to Nioh in terms of visuals, it boasts it's own unique spin on the already established Koei Tecmo IP.

While both titles are attributed to record high sales for Koei Tecmo, sequels for either titles have yet to be announced. Currently, Koei Tecmo has plans to release Rise of the Ronin, another historical action title. Helmed by Team Ninja, the title was formally announced in September 2022 at a Sony State of Play broadcast. Wild Hearts is on the PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC. Wo Long is on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.

Best Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp COs Sami

As you play Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp, you'll eventually unlock COs and the ability to use these characters in different maps. Especially if you head into versus. However, due to the way the game is executed, it isn't like there's one overall "best" person. Depending on the situation, some may be better for that particular fight. So here are some you may want to prioritize for certain situations.

Best Advance Wars CO for capturing headquarters: Sami

When you're first starting out and don't have many COs available, Sami is one of the most solid Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2 characters. You can't underestimate her infantry. She'll capture faster, and they'll be stronger. If you have, say, an APC, it'll be able to carry an Infantry or Mech unit further too. Her Double Time CO Power increases infantry units' range, attack, and defense. Victory March, her Super CO Power, offers even greater boosts to all three areas. It means you can get in there and take things over quicker.

[caption id="attachment_960723" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Nintendo WayForward Intelligent Systems Image via Nintendo[/caption]

Best late game Advance Wars CO: Eagle

Eagle is a big deal because any unit in his army that doesn't fall under the Infantry category can act again when he uses Lightning Strike. It's classified as his CO Power in the original Advance Wars, then becomes his Super CO Power in the sequel. His regular Lightning Drive power increases aerial units' strength and other units' defense. Being able to continue your assault and basically take two turns at once can do a lot to break the game.

Best Advance Wars CO on maps with pre-deployed units: Kanbei

Kanbei's whole gimmick is that his troops love him, so they over perform. They'll be more expensive than usual, but will also have higher offense and defense. Both the CO Power Morale Boost and Super CO Power Samurai Spirit increase every unit's attack and defense even further. You also deal more damage during counter attacks when Samurai Spirit is in effect.

[caption id="attachment_960724" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Best Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp COs Colin Image via Nintendo[/caption]

Best Advance Wars CO to use when you need to stretch or know you'll get lots of money: Colin

Both Colin's CO powers in Advance Wars 2 have to do with money, which can be very helpful in situations where you'll accrue a lot of it or if you have a limited number of funds you need to work with. Yes, all of his units are going to be 20% weaker than everyone else's. They are cheaper, though! Also, you can increase his money by 1.5 times with Gold Rush and the amount of money you have stockpiled will increase the strength of all his active units with Power of Money. So if you have a lot of money coming in from allied cities, he becomes one of the most broken characters in the game.

Best Advance Wars CO to use with ranged units: Grit

If you want to focus on using indirect units, Grit is your man. His Artillery, Battleships, Carriers, Missiles, Rockets all get increased range and power. So you'll be able to use Snipe Attack and Super Snipe both to increase his range and strength of those units. Granted, you'll also need to first save up for them and place them, but it's worth it.

[caption id="attachment_960725" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Best Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp COs Grit Image via Nintendo[/caption]

Best Advance Wars CO to use in a city: Sensei

Sensei is another CO that is generally good in Advance Wars 2. However, he's at his best when you're in an urban area. This is because of his CO Power Copter Command and Super CO Power Airborne Assault. The former puts an Infantry unit in every one of his cities, with each one having 9 HP. His helicopters will also be stronger than usual that turn. The latter adds a 9 HP Mech in each city and, again, makes all of his choppers stronger.

Most "generally broken" Advance Wars CO to use: Hachi

Hachi floods the market in Advance Wars 2. Literally. It costs 10% less for him to buy every kind of unit. It's a huge help. His Barter CO Power and Merchant Union Super Power both make it easier to add even more units of any kind to the map. The price drops to 50% off for everything with each. Meanwhile, Merchant Inion makes any city basically into a factory for ground units.

Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp is available for the Nintendo Switch.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC Rinka

Nintendo revealed more information about Rinka, Rex's apprentice and a new character that will appear in the upcoming Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC expansion. Rinka is a cautious and sensitive individual, as well as being an intelligent soldier and important member of the Liberators.

Rinka respects Rex a lot, and in a video shared by Nintendo she calls him her teacher. However, this doesn't stop Rinka from scolding Rex for acting too rashly or impetuously. She bears a Core Crystal in her chest, indicating that she might be a Blade. She resembles Pandoria, Zeke's Blade that appeared in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. In addition, Rinka shares her Japanese voice actor with Pandoria.

https://twitter.com/XenobladeJP/status/1650743208748683265

In the original Xenoblade Chronicles 3, Rex's pupil was the founder of House Cassini. This means that Rinka might go on to have a larger role in the foundation of the new City during the events of Future Redeemed.

https://twitter.com/XenobladeJP/status/1650742534090657793

Ryo Hirohashi lends her voice to Rinka in the Japanese dub of the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC. She is well known for her roles in voicing Miles "Tails" Prower, Cheese, and Chocola in the Sonic the Hedgehog franchise, alongside voicing Pandoria in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC releases on April 25, 2023. Nintendo recently showcased Panacea, Shulk's apprentice and another member of the Liberators that will appear in Future Redeemed.

The game's development team shared this teaser during the latest PSO2 NGS headline stream. In addition, Series Producer Yuya Kimura explained that the team planned this new major update since the release of New Genesis and it will greatly overhaul the players' experience.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC Rex

Nintendo revealed more gameplay information about Rex, one of the two leaders of the Liberators in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC, and a powerful Driver that wields two massive greatswords. Rex is the protagonist of Xenoblade Chronicles 2, and alongside Shulk he formed the Liberators to fight back against Moebius. Rex lost his left eye during a battle a long time ago.

Rex's class is Master Driver, and Attacker type class that focuses on dealing a lot of damage quickly and build up critical hits. He wields two Flaming Twinswords in battle. Nintendo shared a video showcasing Rex in battle, and you can watch it below.

Rex's Talent Art in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC is Infinity Blade. It nullifies enemy guard and deals damage that ignores enemy defenses. During the animation for Infinity Blade, Rex combines his two greatswords into a massive and powerful sword. All three swords are reminiscent of the Aegis swords in Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

In addition to quickly dealing a lot of damage, Rex's move set seems to benefit from critical hits by recharging Arts cooldown, and also by toppling and launching enemies for powerful combo finishers.

The Xenoblade Chronicles 3 Future Redeemed DLC will release on April 25, 2023. Nintendo also revealed a relationship chart for some of the main characters that will appear in Future Redeemed.

Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus and Butterfly is the next addition to Toge Productions' cozy café simulator and visual novel crossover.  If you want an intimate, relaxing game with a hint of fantasy and pixel art, you've found the right game. Even three years later, the return to Coffee Talk is lovely as ever. But of course, this is far from a perfect game, and lacks at times features that could make it stellar. Overall although, I had a good time coming back to my favorite late-night café in this alternate version of Seattle. If you don't know the premise, the world of Coffee Talk brings you to a version of Earth where other fantasy races live amongst humans. While set in modern-day, there is a history to this world that unravels throughout your time running the café. You play as the owner of this establishment, anonymous except for...

Although the game does incentivize multiple playthroughs thanks to the six selectable characters, you will need to reobtain your weapons and mods all over again. However, this does not mean that the developers won't add a...
