Honkai Star Rail tier list May 2023 – best characters

Looking for a Honkai Star Rail tier list? Judging the best Star Rail characters is tricky. After all, the game's only just launched, and balancing will likely differ between recent beta tests and the first public version. In addition, its gacha mechanics make it challenging to circle in on getting the characters you want in your party. However, there are already some clear front runners to watch at launch.

The real point of a Honkai Star Rail tier list is to rank your pulls against the consensus from the free PC game's already burgeoning community. Players have already begun speculating who will be the top characters overall, who will excel against bosses, and who's great when farming for materials. Of course, with more banners set to arrive in future, similar to Genshin Impact, you'll be looking to redeem Honkai Star Rail codes to get some free pulls. Be sure to check out our Honkai Star Rail review to find out why we think it's one of the finest gacha games out there. Activision knows you love classic maps from Call of Duty history.      How to make and light Minecraft candles

Want to decorate your base with tons of Minecraft candles? Of course you do! The cute item was added to the sandbox game back during the first half of the massive Caves and Cliffs update, which was released in June, and make any base look cool. These colourful decorative items don't give off a huge amount of light, but they certainly help - and, more importantly, they look pretty doing so.

Minecraft candles don't just stop at atmospherically lighting up your world in the crafting game, they can even light up a cute birthday cake - whether you're celebrating with yourself, giving one to a friend on a Minecraft server, or even just celebrating the anniversary of when you tamed that pet wolf. However you want to use a candle in Minecraft though, you need to know how to make one and how to get the resources needed, so here's what you need to know.

CSGO skins versus NFTs – one is a game, the other is a gamble

CSGO skins were ahead of their time. If I had told you ten years ago that gamers could make a fortune by playing an online shooter, opening little digital cases, and selling what was inside, it might have sounded bizarre. But Valve's FPS game was a trailblazer, forming the blueprint for what we now call the 'non-fungible token,' or NFT. Long before the bored apes, CSGO players were trading virtual items. Naturally, then, NFT collectors may be curious about investing in CSGO skins, but though they may seem similar, the two commodities are vastly different.

Want to know what Genshin Impact outfits are available? The outfits system was introduced in the Genshin Impact 1.6 update, following months of pleading from the community. These outfits give you the chance to dress your favourite characters in brand-new clothes.

As Genshin Impact characters are locked behind gacha mechanics in the free PC game, players were initially worried that skins may be sold using the same system. However, there are actually two methods to unlock skins: purchase the skin for 1,680 Genesis Crystals, or complete specific Genshin Impact events to unlock the skin for free.      Genshin Impact tier list May 2023: the best characters in 3.6

Looking for a Genshin Impact tier list? There are currently 66 Genshin Impact characters available, so there's no shortage of candidates for your dream team. But with so many different weapons, elementals, talents, ascension bonuses, and constellation upgrades, finding your favourites can be challenging.

Don't let the placement of the characters on our Genshin Impact tier list deter you from pulling on the next character banner. While base stats and elemental abilities are important, the value of a character also depends on personal playstyle, available weapons and artifacts, and team composition. That being said, if your favourite Genshin Impact character is in C tier or below, you may struggle to get past some of the more challenging Spiral Abyss floors. Don't worry too much if your favourite Genshin Impact character is on one of the lower tiers; you can still make it work with our recommended Genshin Impact builds. Being on a lower tier in the free PC game means that there are better alternatives, or the character needs a very specific build or team to shine.

Kotobukiya Mega Man X Falcon Armor model kit

Kotobukiya revealed a new selection of Mega Man model kits from various entries in the franchise. The new figures include Black Zero, a new Max Armor version, a Falcon Armor, and a revision to the original Mega Man plastic model kit. According to the company, these releases will be made to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Mega Man X.

The Black Zero model is based on the upgrade version of Zero that appears from Mega Man X 4 onwards. Most notably, this new figure will include both blue and red parts for the forehead so as to also replicate the appearance of Fake Zero from Mega Man X2.

https://twitter.com/Kotobukiya_EN/status/1656298054436237312?s=20

The new Max Armor will be based on the Triad Thunder weapon iteration with matching colors. In addition, it will be released with thunder effects and accessories to add the original version of the armor to change its aspect.

https://twitter.com/Kotobukiya_EN/status/1656300557907427328?s=20

For the Falcon Armor, Kotobukiya shared photos of the unpainted Mega Man X model. This version of X's armor features the armor's iconic bird-like details such as the robotic wings and the chest plate resembling a beak.

https://twitter.com/Kotobukiya_EN/status/1656320846754107398?s=20

Finally, the last new model kit is a revision of the classic Mega Man based on its appearance from the 11th game. This is the only one of the lot with a planned released window, set for Autumn 2023, the rest are yet to be determined

https://twitter.com/Kotobukiya_EN/status/1656299300375207938?s=20

With these new releases, Kotobukiya will have developed model kits for all of the main armor sets from Mega Man X1 to X6. Most recently, in November 2022, the company released a Blade Armor model including the Z Saber. As for the new batch of figures, Kotobukiya has not yet shared the price or any specific release date.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom new commercial shows an older player

Nintendo released a new The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom commercial featuring an older adult man playing the game in his free time. The video shares a few parts of gameplay, mainly showcasing the new fusion ability, combat, and exploration elements.

Check out for yourself this new The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom commercial. It was shared by the Nintendo of Australia YouTube Channel.

https://youtu.be/wIJODMsYbkc

As you can see, the commercial shows what appears to be a fragment in an older player's life. The man plays the new The Legend of Zelda game in his spare time, be it at night after arriving from work or during his early commute on public transport. The whole video is full of ambient noises and under-the-breath dialogue accompanied by mostly cold color undertones, a style very different from the usual funny and family-friendly kind of advertisements Nintendo used for the Switch before.

The reception online appeared to be mixed. Some stated that this new ad is presenting a gloomy scenario. Some others praised it for showing a more "human" side of gaming as an adult player.

As another part of the advertisement campaign for this new entry in The Legend of Zelda series, Nintendo released a special Snapchat Lens that shows a countdown to the game's launch. The company also released a multi-part interview series with many of the game's developers, including Producer Eiji Aonuma and Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be arriving on the Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.

Best Hook Relic and Lightcone Build in Honkai: Star Rail

Hook is a four-star in Honkai: Star Rail, and she happened to be one of the first "focus" characters on the Seele Butterfly on Swordtip Event Warp. This means between that and her appearance in the always-available pool of character, there's a good chance she joined your party. While Hook is not one of the "best" characters in Honkai: Star Rail, she is easy to build and use due to her working with a lot of commonly found Relic sets and Light Cones.

What are the best Light Cones for a Hook build in Honkai: Star Rail?

Okay. So yes, you could put a five-star Light Cone on Hook. I'd say On the Fall of an Aeon, so you can take advantage of using her to break an enemy's weakness while also getting an attack buff for every attack.

But really, there are so many good four-star Light Cones that boost her attack and help her that you should consider and stick with those instead. Woof! Walk Time!, one featuring Peppy that you can get for free, increases her attack and damage dealt to enemies affected by Burn. Which she can inflict, due to her being a Fire-type character. The Moles Welcome You, which is inspired by her, lets her get up to five stacks of Mischievous to boost her attack after every attack, Skill, or Ultimate use. Under the Blue Sky increases her attack in general, as well as boosts her critical hit rate every time she defeats an enemy. But really, any attack-boosting Destruction four-star Light Cone works.

As for three-star options, Collapsing Sky is best. It increases her attack and Skill damage. Mutual Demise is fine for her critical rate boost, but I don't like how it requires you to keep her health up. Shattered Home is fine too for the extra damage, but again the enemy HP requirement is limiting.

What are the best Relics for a Hook build in Honkai: Star Rail?

Once again, Hook is a character whose best Relic set in Honkai: Star Rail for any build is probably Musketeer of Wild Wheat. It boosts attack by 12% for two pieces. Get four pieces and attack damage is boosted by 10% and speed by 6% too. You can get it from the Jarilo-VI Cavern of Corrosion: Path of Drifting at the Corridor of Fading Echoes, but it comes up so often in chests and as rewards that you probably won't even need to hunt for pieces for her.

However, Firesmith of Lava-Forging is your other best option for Hook in Honkai: Star Rail. That's in the Xianzhou Luofu Cavern of Corrosion: Path of Conflagration at Stargazer Navalia. Two pieces equipped means a 10% Fire damage boost, which helps her a lot. If you get four pieces, it increases general Skill damage and boosts Fire damage after every Ultimate she performs.

Honkai: Star Rail is available for PCs and mobile devices, and PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.

Resident Evil 4 Monster Hunter Record Profits

Capcom announced another year of record profits in its Consolidated Results for the Year Ended March 2023 report. It attributed this to many factors, although both the remake of Resident Evil 4 and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak are mentioned by name.

Capcom's net sales for the past financial year were 125.9 billion yen (roughly $936 million), an increase of 14.4% from the previous year. Operating income increased 18.4%, ordinary income was up by 15.9%, and net income was up 12.9%. This marks Capcom's sixth consecutive year of record profits at all levels and a record high for net sales.

Resident Evil and Monster Hunter continue to be huge successes for Capcom. Resident Evil 4 reached sales numbers of 4 million units as of April 7, 2023 while Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak has sold 5 million units as of January 18, 2023.

In addition to Resident Evil 4 and Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Capcom attribute the company's success to sales of older digital titles and the use of their brands in movies, merchandise and esports. They aim to keep this up for the next financial year, with predictions of 140 billion yen in net sales.

The remake of Resident Evil 4 is available now for the PC, PS5, PS4 and Xbox Series X/S. Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is out now for the Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Armored Core 6 - Official Image

Kotobukiya announced it will be releasing a new plastic model kit based on the upcoming Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon. This release would join the list of plastic models based on the Armored Core franchise by the company. However, not much information has been revealed yet about this new arriving model. There's also no silhouette or preliminary art.

Check out the official announcement for the new Armored Core 6 model kit from the Kotobukiya Twitter account here below.

https://twitter.com/Kotobukiya_EN/status/1656104012666798080?s=20

If you check on the official Kotobukiya site, you can find an image announcing the project. As for the information segment, the product name is listed only as "Armored Core 6 New Plastic Model Kit". On the same note, the release date and scale appear as to be determined. Nonetheless, the company has already clarified that it will share more information in the near future.

It may come as a surprise that Bandai Namco is not in charge of producing this new model, as the company is the distributors of the game and are also the creators of the official Gundam model kits. However, Kotobukiya has been the one releasing the games' official plastic models, such as the CO3 MALICIOUS R.I.P. from Armored Core: Verdict Day, and the Rayleonard 03-AALIYAH from Armored Core 4.

It's also worth remembering that the Armored Core VI Collector's and Premium Edition will also feature a special figure based on one of the mechs to appear in the game. It is not yet known whether Kotobukiya's model will be based on the same machine or another one that has not yet been revealed.

Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon will come to the PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and PC on August 25, 2023.

Tears of the Kingdom Dungeons Feature

Nintendo released yet another The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom interview, and this one features a discussion about its dungeons. In Breath of the Wild, people could head to the four Divine Beasts. Here, Director Hidemaro Fujibayashi, Technical Director Takuhiro Dohta, and Art Director Satoru Takizawa offered details about what people can expect.

The discussion about The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom dungeons noted that they'll feel more like the traditional ones in the series, rather than Breath of the Wild's Divine Beasts. Both Dohta and Takizawa referred to them as offering a "wide variety" of differences. Takizawa specifically noted how this differed, due to the previous entry's looking a bit alike. Dohta said, "We've made dungeons unique to their respective environments, so we think you'll be able to enjoy the wide variety of regional characteristics."

Fujibayashi teased even more details about what to expect from The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom dungeons and discussed one specific one that is underground.

Yes, we haven't talked about the dungeons yet. They've changed from the previous game. For example, there is a dungeon that connects directly from Hyrule's surface. If you dive from the sky straight into the dungeon, you'll trigger an event. We think this will be a new experience that wasn't possible in the previous game.

As a reminder, the past interviews discussed use of past The Legend of Zelda sound effects and that the newest game was intended to be a sequel from the start. Two more will appear on May 11, 2023.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will come to the Nintendo Switch on May 12, 2023.

Atelier Marie Remake Key Art

It's not been that long since Gust released the most recent game in the long-running Atelier series. With Atelier Ryza 3 still fresh in people's minds, Atelier Marie Remake is now ready to take the series back to where it all began.

Until now, Western Atelier fans needed to rely on fan translations to experience the origins of the series. Atelier Marie: The Alchemist of Salburg originally released in 1997 for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn. It later got a slightly improved re-release for Dreamcast and PS2, although this also never left Japan. However, the game is now coming to the West in the form of a remake, now with a chibi art style similar to the Switch remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening.

[caption id="attachment_962265" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Atelier Marie Remake Barrel Screenshot via Siliconera[/caption]

The premise for Atelier Marie is a simple one. You play as Marlone, aka Marie, who is a student at the esteemed alchemy academy in Salburg. The problem is, she has the worst test scores in the history of the school. Marie now has five years to prove herself as an alchemist, and it's your job to help her.

Much like other Atelier games, the game revolves around gathering materials and crafting items for quests. However, this system is notably more barebones than in the more recent titles. While the Atelier Ryza games featured bustling towns full of NPCs handing out quests, Atelier Marie has a single tavern in a town consisting only of places required for your needs.

It's not surprising, of course. This is a remake of a much older title that's been iterated on countless times, and so it feels stripped back as a result. However, it might feel a bit disappointing to newer fans of the series whose experience is with those larger, more complex titles.

[caption id="attachment_962266" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Atelier Marie Remake Crafting Screenshot via Siliconera[/caption]

Crafting is similarly simple, as you just need to gather ingredients, head to your atelier, then combine them. Unlike later titles which featured materials with varying traits, the most complex Atelier Marie gets is asking you to buy additional tools to improve crafting. And those are one-off purchases, not something you need to consider each time you craft.

Where the game does get complex is through time management. Marie has five years to prove herself, and different actions advance your time towards that inevitable goal. Returning to the atelier costs a day, and each gathering location in the overworld requires a certain number of days to travel to and from.

This is where the biggest change for the remake comes in. In the original, gathering spots were static screens that handed you random materials for each day you chose to spend there. In the remake, they're now full maps you can explore, and items are visible. However, picking up these items also spends your days with each haul, and this is where things get surreal.

[caption id="attachment_962267" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Atelier Marie Remake Gathering Screenshot via Siliconera[/caption]

The original mechanic likely gave the impression that Marie and her friends were scavenging and coming up with a haul of items from a long day of searching. In the remake, it inexplicably feels like it takes Marie a whole day to pick up a single bundle of loose branches.

Clearly the change was made to remove randomness from the equation, but the replacement feels awkward early on. Sure, it's easier to find exactly what you need, but each day gives you a smaller material reward, and it disincentivises exploring the new maps too much so you don't eat up all your days. Hopefully this is something that can be adjusted for the final release, perhaps advancing a day for every three or four materials you collect, instead of just one. Or maybe it could be based on how many steps you take while walking around the map. In its current form, it feels both mechanically and narratively nonsensical.

That said, Atelier Marie definitely has some old school charm so far. Its simple barebones structure makes it easy to dip in and out of and feels like a game that will thrive on the Switch. I just hope that some of its weirder issues can be ironed out by the final release.

Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg releases on July 13, 2023. It's releasing for the PC, PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch.

Tears Of The Kingdom Dungeons Cave Stone TalusFans of Breath of the Wild and the Zelda series as a whole no doubt still have many questions about the upcoming Tears of the Kingdom. One particularly important question for many is how Tears of the Kingdom will handle the series-staple dungeons. Although Breath of the Wild did feature something akin to dungeons in the form of the Divine Beasts, many longtime fans took issue with how Nintendo structured them. Overall, the Divine Beasts had much smaller layouts and simpler puzzles than the dungeons of yore, and their visual designs lacked distinction. Many have hoped that Tears of the Kingdom will improve upon its predecessor by including more traditionally designed Zelda dungeons. So does the game deliver on this? Will there be more traditional dungeons in Tears of the Kingdom? Fortunately, the developers have confirmed that Tears of the Kingdom will boast dungeons more comparable to those of past games.
