The most spectacular unveiling at the WWDC 2023 show was Apple's new AR/VR spatial computing headset, the Apple Vision Pro. We were able to give it a test run, and you can check out our first impressions of what this cutting-edge piece of tech has to offer.
The 15-inch MacBook Air also made its debut at WWDC 2023, and we spent a few minutes with the laptop after the show. It's still lightweight and portable, but that extra screen real estate could mean the MacBook Air will attract a host of new admirers.
Apple also told us more about what to expect from iOS 17, from tweaks to Messages to a new mode that turns your iPhone into a desktop clock. The software rolls out later this year, and we've put together a guide to which handsets are going to get the upgrade.
One update that was somewhat overlooked at WWDC 2023 was a new hiking feature coming with watchOS 10 in a few months: it puts topographical maps of the entire United States on your wrist, with a useful new 3D compass view thrown in too.
Something else arriving with iOS 17: a new app from Apple called Journal. It's for keeping a record of what you're doing with your days and how you're feeling, and Apple is promoting it as "a way to reflect and practice gratitude through writing".
