     Elden Ring bosses in order

What are the Elden Ring bosses in order? The most defining moments in any of the Souls-like games are the tough boss fights. They can be tricky for several reasons: some are hard to hit consistently, and others can squash you with just one attack. Despite having hundreds of monsters, you only need to beat 12 Elden Ring bosses in this order to finish the game.

In addition to a list of mandatory boss encounters, our list of the Elden Ring bosses in order includes where you can find them, and what items they drop when you beat them. We've also collated the top five bosses in order of difficulty. It's worth noting that, generally speaking, dungeon bosses are not as hard to kill as the major bosses. However, there are exceptions, so upgrading the Flash of Wondrous Physick with Elden Ring crystal tears can make all the difference in one of the best PC games of all time.

When is the Assassin's Creed release date? We know that Mirage is an homage to the original Assassin's Creed games, bringing back the stealth-focused gameplay in a densely populated Middle-Eastern city. While it's still an action-adventure game with a strong narrative focus, long-time Assassin's Creed players will be reminded of Ezio's adventures rather than Eivor's.

Assassin's Creed Mirage, announced in September 2022, is part of Ubisoft's larger Assassin's Creed series. Following the release of Valhalla back in 2020, it's the thirteenth major installment. Like other AC games, Mirage is all about fascinating historical settings, intriguing characters, and sneakiness - something that will hopefully place Mirage among the best PC games when it eventually releases. If you've been keeping an eye on Stormgate, the upcoming free-to-play RTS being made by former Starcraft II and Warcraft III devs, then its big bads, the Infernal Host, will probably be familiar in name, if nothing else. But during tonight's Gamescom Opening Night Live show, we got our first proper look at this demonic alien faction, as well as three of the units that will be at our disposal on release. And sure, the worker Imp and its long ears will no doubt appease the Grogu fans out there, but my personal highlight is the creepy flesh monster, the Brute. It looks rightly horrific, with its pair of grinning maws and glistening, pale skin, but at the tap of a key, it will rip itself down the middle in a mess of blood and gore so that two Fiends can burst forth Alien-style to continue the assault. It's kinda gross, but also weirdly rad? In any case, I'm into it.

LG's 27GL850 was a legendary monitor, as this 27-inch model was the first to use the Korean chaebol's Fast IPS panels - which combined the extremely fast pixel response times you'd expect to see on TN panels with the wide viewing angles and gorgeous colours of IPS screens. This combination proved popular, and today there's a deal on the modern successor to the 27GL850 - the 27GP850.

The 27GP850 is down to $299.99 at Amazon, versus an original price of $429.99. We saw a lot of sales on the 1440p 144Hz 27GL850 when it reached this price, so seeing an even better 1440p 180Hz model at the same point could result in quite a popular pickup.

Good for moral support with a creepy horror game, although it's online co-op, so don't expect anyone to literally hold your hand. Also, and this is kind of unexpected, but there's a podcast tie-in.

AMD's Ryzen 7 7800X3D is the fastest CPU I've tested (on average across a nine-game benchmark suite), exceeding even the Ryzen 9 7950X3D and the Intel Core i9 13900K. That makes it an awesome choice for a full-fat gaming PC, and today you can pick up this top performer for just $385 at Amazon USA - with a free copy of Starfield included.

If you're keenly awaiting next month's launch of Starfield, Bethesda's new open-world sci-fi RPG, you can skip the new trailer. It's one of those live-action affairs with CG up the wazoo, complete with an 'epic' cover of Elton John's Rocket Man that would bring a tear to the eye of Zack Snyder*, and only Zack Snyder. It does not show the game at all, nor does it capture the thrill of escaping our Earthly bonds to find a load of grey rocks just like we have at home. But you can watch the trailer below.

Glance at a Fort Solis screenshot and you might summarise it as "Dead Space if it were set in a moodier corner of Ridley Scott flick The Martian". The correct bundle of analogies is actually "Tacoma if it was made by Supermassive Games or Quantic Dream - and also, if it were set in a moodier corner of Ridley Scott flick The Martian". If you're unfamiliar with all of those things, here's the translation: this is a creepy but seldom scary mystery-horror game about a couple of engineers exploring an abandoned spacebase full of quick-time events (aka, "push the button before the prompt vanishes") and audio/video diaries from the Project X Proceeds Apace School of Ominous Backstory.

Out of all of Supergiant's games, I feel like Pyre is the odd duck out. Bastion, Transistor, and Hades - all fit nicely into the action-RPG genre (as well as all being absolute bangers) but Pyre is something else entirely. Sure it also has action-RPG elements, but also is a story-rich visual novel and sports game? And they not only work together but also compliment each other?? It's a magical wizardry mix of genres that still feels fresh today, even though it's been five years since it released. It's story following a group of ethereal exiles playing fantasy sports ball in mystical purgatory isn't half bad too (by which I mean it's amazing).

The rules of the sport are simple - two teams are placed at opposite ends of a pitch each with a flame (the titular pyre) they must protect. An energy ball appears on the map and the two teams must grab the ball and dunk it into the opponent's flame until that flame has been snuffed out. Each character has a special ability, movement feels good, and when you pull off a combo you feel fantastic.

Developer Sad Cat Studios have delayed their debut cyberpunk platformer Replaced into 2024, because they "can't afford to release a sub-par game." The Belarusian-based studio previously pushed the game from 2022 into 2023 due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, but based on its moody retrofuturist trailers I'm happy to wait until every pixel is perfectly positioned, as long as the teams are staying safe.

"After Replaced's initial announcement in 2021 and its follow-up trailer in 2022 we had this incredibly high bar of community's expectations," the studio wrote in a recent Steam blog. "And at this point, we knew that we can't afford to release a sub-par game. We truly want Replaced to be something special and memorable for everybody. This is our first game, and we want to make every aspect of it the best it can be."

As with Half-Life 2 RTX, Nvidia have taken to Gamescom to make a heap of DLSS announcements. Chief among these is an upcoming new version, DLSS 3.5, which will add to DLSS 3's existing toolkit of upscaling and AI frame generation with a new trick named Ray Reconstruction. And it sounds pretty clever, if currently limited in application.

Nvidia are making an early start on their Gamescom announcements, which include the reveal of Half-Life 2 RTX. This incoming mod for the seminal 2004 FPS will, in the style of Portal with RTX, rejig the original game with modern technical goodies like ray tracing, updated environmental details, and Nvidia Reflex support. DLSS will also be on hand to absorb the inevitably mahoosive performance hit from bouncing all those rays around, and that includes DLSS 3, provided you have a compatible graphics card.

It's being developed by a collective of experienced HL2 modders, Orbifold Studios, without direct input from Valve. No release date yet, as Half-Life 2 RTX – or to use its full name, Half-Life 2 RTX: An RTX Remix Project – is still in the early stages. There is a teaser trailer, though.

Preview: Fae Farm Is Incredibly Accessible

Phoenix Labs is dipping into the farming sim genre with Fae Farm and after spending time in its first few chapters after getting access to the game, it feels like accessibility is a core concept. In many different ways, it feels like the team endeavored to create a game that goes out of its way for players. For example, it means elements to allow you to make an avatar that looks like you. It also involves being clear about who characters are or where you might find some resources. It also cuts out some hassle behind managing your equipment.

Fae Farm's accessibility options when you start creating a character. All sorts of skin colors are available, and you can choose from four body types regardless of gender. You pick your pronouns. The hairstyles are universal as well, with many different options present. If you want dreadlocks, those are there. If you wear a hijab in real life, you can immediately select one for your avatar here. A lot of elements to make your character look like, well, you are right there. You don't need to unlock them.
[caption id="attachment_979073" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Image via Phoenix Labs Image via Phoenix Labs[/caption]
This continues on to the controls. For the main tools you'll use most often in Fae Farm, they're context sensitive. So if you water plants, use an axe to chop, swing a scythe to cut, dig with a shovel, or smash with a pickaxe, you don't need to dig through tools. The only pieces of equipment that do involve tabbing through with the triggers are the net, fishing pole, and wand. This means a lot less fuss and streamlines a lot of the more mundane interactions.

This doesn't mean those tools that don't automatically swap in when you need them aren't also accessible in their own way. The concept still carries over into certain sorts of creature catching interactions. Say you're going to go fishing or hunting bugs. There's a visible rainbow halo around "special" ones, to help signify they are rare on sight. This means you don't have to memorize their appearances. When you're fishing, you clearly see a charged line when you cast. In addition to audio cues, you'll see movements. If the line is in danger of breaking, its color changes to red and you'll see little stress mark signifiers. When stalking bugs, holding down the button to sneak causes little stars to appear around your prey when you would be able to successfully catch it.

Even interacting with people features some accessibility options to aid players. In the map menu, you can go into areas and choose to select a certain location to help guide you there. You can also track specific people. This is a huge help when clearing out the quest list. Also, whenever you speak to someone you'll see not only their name, but a brief summary of who they are and what they do. While the characters who act as shopkeepers don't leave their posts, this is helpful for other NPCs who do move around quite a bit.
[caption id="attachment_979074" align="alignnone" width="1200"]Preview- Fae Farm Is Incredibly Accessible 3 Image via Phoenix Labs[/caption]
I would even say the dungeon diving is accessible. When you head into these areas, which also function as mines you'll head into for ores and gemstones, you can craft seals. These use ores and sometimes gems. When placed in a pedestal at the start of a new floor, you can unlock the door to the next one and open up a fast-travel point that lets you immediately warp to that floor when at that point of the level. The menu will also note which resources will be on that floor and provide an idea of how plentiful they are, in the event you're going in specifically for an item like copper or maybe some topaz.

In its early hours, it feels like Phoenix Labs made Fae Farm the sort of game that is accommodating and easy to play. However, it does that without holding someone's hand too tightly. So there are elements that make it easy and take some extra actions off of your shoulders, while still ensuring you need to think about what you plant and manage your time and resources properly.

Fae Farm will come to the Nintendo Switch and PC on September 8, 2023.

Crimson Desert Gameplay Trailer

A new gameplay trailer for Crimson Desert appeared at Gamescom 2023 Opening Night Live. It showed off a wide range of gameplay mechanics that suggest a massive game is on the way.

The new Crimson Desert gameplay trailer showed off combat against both human and monstrous foes, including a giant crab. There also appear to be large enemies that must be climbed to defeat, similar to Shadow of the Colossus. While much of the game appears grounded in reality, the trailer did show off a few magical portals to an alternate dimension of sorts. This also seems to include a set of sky islands that can be jumped off, not too dissimilar to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It wasn't all action though, as fishing, dog-petting and sheep rescuing all featured too.

You can see the full trailer here.

It's been a while since we last got an update on Crimson Desert. A gameplay trailer for the game was previously featured at The Game Awards in 2020, but not much has been heard since.

Crimson Desert is an open-world action RPG from the developers of MMO Black Desert Online. The story will focus on a mercenary named Macduff as he battles mythical beasts in the land of Pywel. It was originally intended to be a prequel to Black Desert's story, but during development it moved in a different direction. It's not clear if the two games are in the same universe.

Crimson Desert is in development for PC and console.

FFXIV Chips

Koikeya, a Japanese chip brand known for producing the KARAMUCHO chip series, as well as the Polinky series of crispy snacks, shared a teaser image on its social media account that suggests an upcoming collaboration with the MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. The post and image included the hashtags #FF14 and #popotochips. A date is also included: August 25, 2023. It is likely further information about this collaboration could be revealed on that date.

In the game, the popoto is described as "a starchy tuberous vegetable originally introduced to Eorzea by explorers from the distant western continent." It's safe to say that given its description and image, it is Final Fantasy XIV's version of potatoes from the real world.

Square Enix announced many other Final Fantasy XIV collaborations with real-world brands in the past. In 2020, the Japanese convenience store chain Lawson held a event where Final Fantasy XIV chocolates were sold, along with a an in-game mount with every purchase. These were Bikkuri Man Chocolate sweets, a brand produced by Lotte. In August 2023, Square Enix announced a tie-in with Vogue Japan to celebrate the game's 10th anniversary. During this latest event, players could submit screenshots of their characters wearing outfits that pertained to the chosen theme of "future adventures."

JoJo Sono Chi No Sadame Opening Song

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime composer Kohei Tanaka shared on social media some anecdotes about the creation of the anime's first opening song, "JoJo (Sono Chi no Sadame)." Tanaka often shares information on his social media about projects he worked on, like Overman King Gainer or Sakura Wars. [Thanks, Game Watch!]

Tanaka said that, due to unspecified circumstances, he received the request to work on the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime opening theme song approximately two weeks before the deadline. After accepting, the composer then asked famous lyricist Shoko Fujibayashi to write the lyrics for the song.

Fujibayashi managed to finish the request within a week. Afterwards, Tanaka finished a demo for "JoJo (Sono Chi no Sadame)" in two days and sent it to composer Kow Otani to have it arranged.

Tanaka also talked about adding the backing vocals of the song that sing "JoJo JoJo." At first, the director asked Tanaka not to include it, but the composer went against their wishes. Once the director heard the demo, they changed their mind and asked Tanaka to keep it.

The most difficult aspect of creating the song for Tanaka was finding a singer. The composer remembered working with Hiroaki "Tommy" Tominaga once before, and managed to offer him the opportunity right on time.

You can listen to "JoJo (Sono Chi no Sadame)," the first opening song of the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime, here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW4H15rK6iI

Kohei Tanaka is a renowned Japanese composer that has worked on a multitude of anime series, including One Piece, Gunbuster, as well as the the Sakura Wars video game series, and the PlayStation exclusive Gravity Rush series. The original anime is streaming on Crunchyroll and Netflix, and Viz Media is handling the manga outside Japan.

Final Fantasy VII Rufus Outfit Details Revealed

Square Enix used the official Final Fantasy VII Remake Twitter account to show off a real-life recreation of the outfit Rufus wears. The tweet also included insight into the costume design of this particular outfit. It was described as being the most difficult outfit to picture the structure of, what with its heavy use of embellishments, accessories, and pockets.

Square Enix noted that in order for the recreation to be successful, small details such as the position of each pocket, as well as the size of the collar itself, had to be fine-tuned many times over. The Final Fantasy VII Remake Rufus outfit was described as having more details and decorations than other characters' in the game. The entire recreation is made up of seven layers, which includes the undershirt, belts, gloves, more belts, the necktie, hakama-style pants, and then the jacket on top of everything.

[embed]https://twitter.com/FFVIIR_CLOUD/status/1693910885717221380?t=xYBdp-WtyW7E3hWQCGHDTA&s=19[/embed]

Rufus is an antagonist in Final Fantasy VII Remake. Being the vice president of Shinra and son of the president himself, he opts to wear a battle-ready ensemble that allows easy movement through a western-style hakama in the lower half. The traditional Japanese hakama is worn by both men and women, and they were introduced as a means of allowing easier movement compared to more standard, traditional Japanese clothing.

Final Fantasy VII Remake is available worldwide on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The sequel, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, is set to release worldwide in early 2024.
