WoW Classic Hardcore stats confirm that it sucks to be a Hunter

Let me ask a question: have you died in WoW Classic Hardcore yet? I have and, honestly, it was one of my favorite World of Warcraft experiences to date. Hardcore is about survival, sure, but it's also about going out in a blaze of bloody glory - or, alternatively, yeeting yourself off of something by accident (guilty, as charged). In the wake of Hardcore's launch, Blizzard has unveiled some stats about the MMORPG's latest mode, and trust me when I say it really, really sucks to be a Hunter.

     Starfield Shattered Space DLC

What is the Starfield Shattered Space DLC? Despite Starfield being one of the biggest Bethesda games ever made - if not the biggest - the developer isn't content with leaving it as it is, revealing that there's at least one expansion already planned.

We've not even reached the Starfield release date yet, but Bethesda has already confirmed the space game's first DLC: Shattered Space. Whether or not there will ever be a Starfield sequel, we can probably assume that the world will be broadened with expansions, perhaps in a similar fashion to Skyrim or Fallout 4. So what do we know about Shattered Space, the first Starfield DLC?

     Starfield United Colonies faction guide

Who is the Starfield United Colonies faction? While the release of Bethesda's upcoming epic space RPG is not far away at all, every grain of Starfield information we can gather is vital. From the various developer updates so far, it's become clear that learning about Starfield factions is essential. We know there are several main factions, as well as smaller groups, but for now, we'll focus on the United Colonies.

As a strong military and political force, the United Colonies is the most powerful of the Starfield factions. Their rich history spans intergalactic conflicts, common enemies, and the formation of a web of member colonies. In the faction guide below, we're taking a deep dive into who the United Colonies are, where you can find them, which Starfield companions came from this faction, how they fit into the Starfield timeline and lore, and how you can join them. Let's get going.

Best medieval games on PC 2023

Medieval games are less common than you might think. Rare is a videogame that doesn't feature at least one sword, suit of armour, or roast chicken. Still, they're usually mixed in with bearded hermits slinging magic fireballs, which we're reliably informed your average medieval peasant had very little knowledge of.

To that end, we've assembled a list of the best PC games that eschew all the prophecy and pyrotechnics for good old-fashioned steel-on-steel action. Medieval games come in all different shapes and sizes, with some opting for a more fantasy game style. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is, after all, no basis for a system of government. Similarly, a level ten Necromancer against a blacksmith wearing a potato sack is no basis for a fair fight.

Starfield voice actors and cast list so far

Who are the Starfield voice actors? Bethesda may be returning to the age-old tradition of silent protagonists for Starfield, but that doesn't mean this highly anticipated game won't still feature a universe chock-full of colorful characters with voices to match.

Back in 2021, Todd Howard revealed that over 300 Starfield voice actors had been hired to deliver 150,000 lines of dialogue. However, the studio has been remarkably tight-lipped on exactly who we can expect to hear on the Starfield release date as we journey across the Settled Systems. Here's everything we know about the Starfield cast so far.

Does Starfield have new game plus?

Is new game plus in Starfield? Bethesda is not known for including new game plus modes in their games - Fallout 3 and 4 didn't feature one, and neither did Oblivion or Skyrim, but more games than ever are starting to incorporate new game plus as a way to increase replayability.

Not that you'll necessarily need it here, as there are over 1000 Starfield planets in the space opera, and when it comes to the Starfield length, just the main story will apparently run for 30-40 hours. Chuck in all the side content and exploration you can do and you're looking at hundreds of hours if you want to see anything - if, upon completion, you immediately want to start all over again with new game plus, then you are a more dedicated player than I. However, with that said, new game plus is definitely a mode that will pique my interest after a break, so here's all the information we have on Starfield new game plus.

     Is Starfield Steam Deck compatible?

Is Starfield Steam Deck compatible? Playing Starfield on your Steam Deck should unlock a universe of entertainment from your sofa, but we haven't got the official word from Valve on whether it's Steam Deck compatible. Although you should be able to get the RPG running on your handheld, the struggles of similar games to get decent performance suggests you probably won't be blasting off at light speed.

As stated in the Starfield system requirements, you'll need 125GB of storage space if you want to head out exploring new planets. There's over a hundred different solar systems on offer, so it's not exactly a surprise the game takes up so much space. As the Starfield release date draws ever closer, we're thinking about how we want our space adventure to play out. Will we be good, bad, or somewhere in-between? A spy, a leader, or a pirate? Don't let his utilitarian facade and genial conversation fool you; this Lunar Robotics creation is your go-to companion when it comes to exploration. It's no secret that VASCO's our favorite here at PCGamesN, but if you're still on the fence, we've collated all his primary skills and attributes into one handy guide, to help you decide if you should keep him around for the long haul.

A human companion is all well and good, but sometimes you might want to keep a well-oiled machine by your side as you explore everything Starfield has to offer. It's currently unclear where VASCO's construction appears on the official Starfield timeline, but his battered chassis certainly suggests he's been in active service for several decades. Who is the Starfield Constellation faction? Compared to all the other groups in the galaxy, Constellation is the most secretive of the established organizations. They have an almost mythical status among the people of the settled systems and consider themselves the last of the true explorers.

Constellation is the main one of the many Starfield factions that you'll become a member of during the campaign. Joining this faction doesn't mean that you can't also join one of the others, including the pirates of the Crimson Fleet, the megacorp of Ryujin Industries, and the space western members of Freestar Collective. Is Starfield crossplay? Well, technically speaking, no - because Starfield isn't multiplayer. However, if you're searching for this term, chances are you're more likely to be wondering about Starfield cross save and Starfield cross progression functionality, rather than cross-platform play itself.

As Starfield is available on both Xbox and PC, if you pick up the game on both platforms you will want to know whether you can start playing on one and pick up right where they left off on the other. After all, it would suck to have to visit all 1000+ Starfield planets again from scratch, unless you're doing so in the Starfield new game plus mode. A topic we've all been learning a lot about is the Starfield companions system. Unsurprisingly, given Bethesda's strong use of companions in the Fallout and Elder Scrolls series, it appears they're taking what they've already lovingly created and are running further with it in the space game, even bringing back the Adoring Fan, too. As revealed by lead quest designer Will Shen during a developer Q&A, "there are over 20 named characters who can join your crew." One of those characters is Sam Coe, who seems to have the wealthiest of backgrounds behind him. Appropriately for third-person shooters featuring icky electric zombies, Invader's Daymare series has crept up on me. The second game, Daymare: 1994 Sandcastle, launches today. It casts you as Dalila Reyes, a special agent of Hexacore Advanced Division for Extraction and Search, aka H.A.D.E.S., and - wait a minute, I know this vibe! That annoying acronym? The washed-out, cadaver-on-concrete set dressing? The gimmicky ice-gun and scanner mode puzzles? The not-so-subtle undertones of Monolith and Midway? Characters with big glowy gadgets on their backs, so you can track them through poorly-lit warehouses?

For all the 90s setting, this looks to me like a homage to shooters of the early/mid noughties, when every action game took place in an office block, prison or garage, featured some kind of paranormal auxiliary ability, and owed a few cinematic chromosomes to the Matrix. Get a load of that trailer.

And it was hilariously impossible to summarise in the space of a short, sharp 30-minute appointment. While the elevator pitch started off fairly naturally, there came a point where the elevator rocketed up into the atmosphere and spiralled out of control. I won't pretend to completely understand what the exact measure of the game is, but I'm both excited to see more and a tad worried it could end up being a disjointed, overstretched mash of things that don't form a cohesive whole.

The original Destiny storyline opened following the collapse of a vast Terran civilization at the hands of an invading, amorphous Darkness and its various alien accomplices - an advance stymied only by a benevolent Big Dumb Object known as the Traveller. It cast you as an ancient warrior, resurrected by a flying robot to reclaim humankind's old dominions together with their antique, storied weapons and gear. So much of its appeal for me, back in 2014, was the mystique of that reclamation process, bolstered by alternately zany, obnoxious, fragmentary and/or intriguing writing that expanded upon the viral mythological element in Halo.

Fast-forward nine years, and Destiny 2 has turned the destruction and loss of history wrought by the Darkness into a seasonal - or as it's shortly to become, "episodic" - content "cadence" (a term that stems from the Latin word for falling) of erosion and restoration, with areas, weapons and quests stripped periodically from the game due to a mixture of technical pressures and commercial priorities. It's sort of become the very thing you're fighting, but where the Darkness aims to engulf and extinguish the Guardians of the Light, Destiny wants to keep you engaged.

Far bet it from me to complain about Agatha Christie - Hercule Poirot: The London Case introducing more incongruous eye candy, after my previous conniptions over Hot Hipster Poirot with his ankle-grazer trousers and his sexy egg-shaped head, but tick tock, it's himbo Hastings o'clock. Released on Steam this week, The London Case takes young Poirot to, err, London, charged with protecting a famous painting along with a representative of the insurance firm. Naturellement, the painting is stolen from an apparently locked room under everyone's silly noses, and thus begins Poirot and Hastings' first puzzle caper together (for who else is our insurance representative?).

Technically, of course, they met in The Mysterious Affair At Styles, when Captain Arthur Hastings was on leave from the front during WW1, but one of the things I like about this series is how it takes what it wants and gently buffs away the rest. If you're going to adapt, then adapt! Like The First Cases, which came out in 2021, the game itself is largely a process of pointing and clicking through crime scenes to find clues, and then joining them in a big mind map akin to what you'd find in a Frogwares Sherlock Holmes game. But having Hastings along does make it a bit more fun, because his role is to be a bit of an idiot.

Before Diablo 4 came out, Blizzard had concerns that their latest ARPG would tank the popularity of their most recent entry in the series, Diablo Immortal, Blizzard's franchise general manager Rod Fergusson tells RPS. Immortal, which launched last year as a free-to-play MMO game, left quite a bad taste in our mouths when it launched on PC, especially when it came to the prohibitively high cost of its various microtransactions. Despite this, though, the game's continued to enjoy great success over on mobile, but even Blizzard weren't sure whether its popularity would last once Diablo 4 arrived.

"One of the things that we were kind of nervous about initially was that when Diablo 4 landed it would sort of cannibalise Immortal, and that everyone was just going to be, 'Oh we're just playing Immortal until Diablo 4 comes out'," Fergusson told me at Gamescom. As it turns out, they needn't have been so apprehensive. "In fact, it was the opposite," he says.

When The Lord of the Rings: Gollum was announced a few years back, the general response was "who on Middle-earth would want to play as Gollum". I'm wondering if Atari and Graphite Lab's "creative sequel" to Pong will face a similar reception. Released in the 70s, the original Pong was videogame tennis. In this reinvention - which, confusingly, is also a sequel to Stuffed Wombat's Qomp, with the Pong branding sort of ladled on top - the homely pixel ball has shattered one player's paddle and escaped into an Axiom Verge-esque labyrinth of spikes, energy beams and floating T-Rex heads. Filing this premise somewhere on the "what if" spectrum between the Edge line about talking to the monsters in DOOM and people demanding to land on gas giants in Starfield. It will be $79.99/€71.99/£59.99/¥6,800 per year for the lowest Essential tier going forward. Its excuse for charging more is to "continue bringing high-quality games and value-added benefits."

The base PlayStation Plus Essential tier is going up to $79.99 from $59.99 for a year. The PlayStation Plus Extra tier will cost $139.99 for 12 months. It used to be $99.99. Finally, the PlayStation Plus Premium price will be $159.99 after the change, compared to $119.99 now.

The company also noted that the yearly plans will still be cheaper than buying one or three months of PlayStation Plus at a time. However, it didn't say what the new prices for each tier will be going forward. Before September 6, 2023, it is $9.99 per month and $24.99 per three months for Essential, $14.99 per month and $39.99 per three months for Extra, and $17.99 per month and $49.99 per three months for Premium.

The cost of the three PlayStation Plus plans will increase in price starting on September 6, 2023 worldwide.

The new trailer showcases some of the automatic skills that Futaba can perform in Persona 5 Tactica when her allies are in need of support. Final Guard protects downed allies from an attack. Meanwhile, Active Support recovers a fraction of the party's MP, and makes it easier to increase the Voltage Gauge.
