What are the best skateboard games? In the past, it was tough to find a skateboarding game on PC, with the genre having its heyday during the PS2 and Xbox 360 console generations. Recently, however, the skateboarding gaming scene has seen a resurgence, with realistic skate sims making the most of the PC platform to deliver the most accurate skateboarding games yet.

Nothing quite captures a moment in time like the years when skateboarding was at its mainstream peak. A mixture of creativity and aggression, skateboarding can be a true expression of style, and the best skateboarding games all manage to capture that in some form. For a niche few, these are some of the best PC games ever. What are Valorant ranks? We've taken a deep dive into the Valorant ranking system, to show you how they work, and what the current distribution is. Looking at these figures, we can glean all kinds of information, like where you sit against the average player, as well as time and energy is being put into the FPS at the moment.

Like all competitive FPS games, Valorant has a couple of different ways it measures ranking progress and the overall rating of players against each other. Each player has an overall Valorant rank, but there's also a dedicated 'Act rank' for each act. On top of that, there's also a concept called 'rank rating', which is connected to MMR. Here's everything you need to know about Valorant ranks, the current rank distribution, and competitive play.

What are the best cross platform games? Crossplay games really are the holy grail of gaming, and they weren't particularly all that common until a few years ago. Nowadays, there are plenty of online experiences you can jump into with friends, regardless of what platform you're playing on. As far as PC and console are concerned, you've got a lot of options, from battle royales, to racing games and more.

The great thing about the best PC games featuring crossplay is that there's a lot less organization involved. We've all experienced how difficult it can be to wrangle a group of friends together to try out a new game, so this way, you won't have to worry about who's playing on what platform. Here's our picks for the best crossplay games on PC in 2023. We've included horror games and FPS games, and other genres for the definitive list of the very best games that you can play with your friends on other platforms.

What are the best sniper rifles in Warzone? There are few things more satisfying in Warzone than a long-range headshot. With that, you're going to need the best kit if you want to perform to your maximum potential, so we've built a list of the best sniper rifles in Warzone.

With Warzone Season 1 about to begin, you don't have long to nail down which sniper rifles you're going to take into the battle royale game. There were few sniper additions with the MW3 release, but the ones we did get are extremely potent, with another deadly option unlocking in the Season 1 battle pass. Want to know what Genshin Impact outfits are available? The outfits system was introduced in the Genshin Impact 1.6 update, following months of pleading from the community. These outfits give you the chance to dress your favourite characters in brand-new clothes.

As Genshin Impact characters are locked behind gacha mechanics in the free PC game, players were initially worried that skins may be sold using the same system. However, there are actually two methods to unlock skins: purchase the skin for 1,680 Genesis Crystals, or complete specific Genshin Impact events to unlock the skin for free. What are the best Western games on PC that you should be playing? It's not an easy decision to make. The Wild West is a time of lawlessness, striking gold, and perilous shootouts - no wonder it's the subject of many top cowboy games. We've donned our stetson and cowboy boots, and set out on horseback to find you the best of the Wild West.

The best PC games based in the Wild West are inspired heavily by the cowboy media that has come before them, and it's fair to say that the humble Western is a cornerstone of American culture. The game studios that decide to take on the challenge of bringing the American Frontier into our lives have a lot of pressure to get it right. Luckily, a number of them have absolutely nailed what being a cowboy is all about, and we've done the hard work of corralling the varmints right here, from open-world games, to strategy games and even vampire games, so here's our pick of the best Western games.

Is Fortnite shutting down? The long-running battle royale shooter has been going through some changes as of late. Price increases to V-Bucks, internal layoffs at Epic, and reports of unmet financial expectations and projections seem to paint a rather volatile picture for Fortnite. Fortnite still receives regular updates, and thanks to the recent launch of new creative mode tools, the community appears to be thriving. Nevertheless, recent news does have industry experts questioning whether the battle royale game has the legs to continue as a top dog in the online multiplayer space. Here's what you need to know about whether Fortnite is shutting down, based on up-to-date information.

With Urzikstan, the new iteration of Warzone, now here, there are more guns to choose from than ever, with existing Warzone guns carried over, plus all-new Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 guns to boot. Each season's Warzone and MW3 Battle Pass brings new weapons, too, so there will be even more to consider as time passes. Well, short of having no official line on a release window for the PC version, I'm refraining from any panic buys at this time, and you should too.

Who could forget that time that Goodfellas star Ray Liotta was cast as the protagonist Tommy Vercetti in GTA Vice City or when Samuel L. By Nvidia's count, there are now 500 games and applications that employ DLSS upscaling and ray tracing visual effects – or "RTX technologies," in GPU superpower speak. While there's arguably some cheekiness behind that count, as ray tracing in particular is not an RTX-exclusive feature, it is nonetheless quite the feat for a set of tools that launched in subjectively auspicious circumstances back in 2018.

Doom scrolling social media looks to have replaced the age-old pasttime of watching TV in GTA 6, which has prompted feelings of alternating despair and increasing irrelevance in me this morning. I barely understand how TikTok works in real-life, let alone a video game pastiche of it, and oh god, how did I get so old and craggy? I'm just here for the nice-looking flamingos, Rockstar, not a 24/7 twerk stream I can access from the palm of my hand. Of course, TV watching may yet have been preserved beyond what we've seen so far in the first trailer for GTA 6, but even if it's been consigned to the bin of modern history, there might yet be one light in the TikTok-esque darkness to make GTA 6's in-game social media network worthwhile.

Upon closer inspection of the account names seen in the trailer, it's "PlanetLeonidaMan" that gives me hope, because if this isn't a riff on the Florida Man meme, I'll take a dump on a dead possum during rush hour traffic, hurl Oreos at Matthew as we argue over our empty coffee maker (teapot, come on), and try to cross the Atlantic in a hamster wheel vessel to demand some answers.

Even better than that: it's some kind of spin on vintage Ninty RPG Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door, except that instead of being made of paper, the main character Loaf is made of living dough... but kind of looks like he's made of paper, this being a 2.5D game with flat character art. Look, just watch the trailer while I make myself a sandwich.

More Free Beat Saber Songs Arrive in OST 6

There is a new pack of free Beat Saber songs, with players able to access Original Soundtrack 6 (OST 6) now. There are five songs total in it, though one is a "surprise" and unavailable yet.

Here's the full list of four known songs being added to the game. The developer only noted that the fifth one is "coming soon" and offered no hints as to its identity.

  • "Heavy Weight" by Lindsey Stirling
  • "Lift Off" by Far Out
  • "Power of the Saber Blade" by DragonForce
  • "Tempo-Katana" by Camellia

There's also a trailer for the new, free Beat Saber songs. It only focuses on showing under a minute of the Expert-level difficulty version of the song "Heavy Weight." It shows some of the note patterns people can expect from that track.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zDW9k6KKIRI&ab_channel=BeatSaberOfficial

Beat Saber OST 6 arrives over a year after OST 5, which showed up in March 2022. As a reminder, that update added "1.78," "Curtains," "Final-Boss-Chan," "Firestarter," "I Wanna Be a Machine," and "Magic." This update arrives after a Black Friday 2023 sale on the game and DLC.

Beat Saber is on the PSVR and PSVR2, Meta Quest 2 and 3, and other VR headsets via Steam. Four of the Original Soundtrack 6 songs are available now.

Disney Dreamlight Valley may largely be a single-player experience, but there are a few systems in the game that require you to have an online connection. At times, then, you may be hit with an 'Online Request' that states 'This action requires you to be connected to online services. Do you want to connect.' The problem is, you might already have an online connection when this arises, so what gives?

What the Disney Dreamlight Valley Online Request Means?

As noted, the online request will appear when you're performing an action that requires you to be connected to the internet. The example, I've stumbled upon when playing through the game is when trying to open specific chests that will contain Moonstones, such as the blue chests scattered throughout the magical world. These aren't your ordinary chests that contain Star Coins though, so don't stress too much. Your money-making methods can continue, uninterrupted from connection woes.

Can You Fix 'Action Requires You to Be Connected to Online Services' Error?

If you're connected to the internet then chances are that there's nothing you can do to fix error from popping up. Especially if there's a major update or expansion dropping, there's a good chance that the DDV servers are just being overloaded and struggling to handle the strain.

You'll also want to try restarting the game and your console, PC or device to ensure that there's not just a bug in the system somewhere.

If your internet connection has a tendency to be a little bit unreliable, then try restarting your router and ensuring that your console or PC is connected. It might even be worth trying to play another online game and making sure that runs correctly. If that's working fine, then you'll at least know that the issue is on the server side and your internet connection is all good.

Last but by no means least, make sure that Disney Dreamlight Valley's servers aren't down. Any server status reporting is done through the official Disney Dreamlight Valley X (formerly known as Twitter) account page.

At least one of these things should be the answer to your online request woes in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Should you still be having issues, let us know down in the comments below.

Mobile Suit Gundam Bonds of the Battlefield II going offline

Bandai Namco will cease online services for Mobile Suit Gundam: Bonds of the Battlefield II on March 28, 2024. The arcade first-person shooter game will still be playable as long as arcade centers have not removed it, but it will no longer receive new content updates and gain access to online-exclusive modes after the date.

When the game enters Offline mode, players will still be able to access the single-player Score Attack mode and the 4v4 local versus. However, they will no longer be able to make payments with electronic money sources or record their progress into IC cards.

This end-of-service announcement comes in a different way that brings the arcade game series' continuity into question. Bandai Namco first revealed the title in early 2020 and eventually launched it in July 2021; all while the original Bonds of the Battlefield was still actively ongoing. The company ensured a smooth transition to the sequel by shutting down the original game later in November 2021.

Bandai Namco did not reveal a new sequel for the series when it announced the online shutdown for Bonds of the Battlefield II. It has two other Gundam arcade games with ongoing online services, which are the Extreme Vs. series of 2v2 arena fighters and the card-based real-time strategy game Mobile Suit Gundam: Arsenal Base.

Mobile Suit Gundam: Bonds of the Battlefield II is still available to play in Japanese arcades.

Mumei's announcement was a very brief one. She didn't offer any update on what the break will entail or how long it will last. However, it seems that it will be a short one, as she did mention it will only last for "a bit" and that she will offer more information "soon."

https://twitter.com/nanashimumei_en/status/1731805528995598716

It isn't uncommon for a Hololive Vtuber to take a brief break due to things like health or personal reasons. For example, Holostars EN member Gavis Bettel took a brief break in November 2023. He's since returned and uploaded a new schedule on December 4, 2023 going over upcoming activities.

Nanashi Mumei has been a Hololive EN Vtuber since August 2021. She started out as a Hololive EN Council member alongside Ceres Fauna, Hakos Baelz, Ouro Kronii, and Tsukumo Sana. Korone Inugami Sonic COmic

The official Sonic the Hedgehog social media account posted a comic created by Hololive Vtuber Inugami Korone. Korone was announced as an official Sonic ambassador back in 2022 and has since been involved with several collaborations with Sega.

The comic appears as part of the "Fast Friends Forever" segment, which presents comics drawn by notable Sonic fans followed by short segments where they talk about their relation to the franchise. The segment has previously featured voice actress Yuuki Aoi (Shuten Douji in Fate, Madoka Kaname in Puella Magi Madoka Magica), and VOFAN (Illustrator for the Monogatari light novels).

In her question segment following the comic, Inugami Korone stated that her first experience with Sonic the Hedgehog was in 2021, when she played the original game on Mega Drive/Genesis. She also noted that her favorite character is Knuckles, citing his cool name and gloves as reasons.

You can find Korone's comic, as well as the Q&A segment, in the tweets below:

Shinjiro Aragaki Persona 3 Reload Trailer

The latest character trailer for Persona 3 Reload features Shinjiro "Shinji" Aragaki. He's considered the "lone wolf" party member for a number of reasons. This was uploaded to the official Atlus English and Japanese YouTube channel.

In this new trailer, we can see how Shinjiro tries to save face with the other S.E.E.S members save for Koromaru, with whom he lets his guard down. His Persona, Castor, was also briefly previewed. With its help, Shinjiro can cast "Bloody Charge." That's an ability that increases his critical rate and physical strength.

Justice Slocum is Shinjiro's new voice actor in Persona 3 Reload. You can hear his new performance for the character in the English trailer. This is one of his major breakout roles, as he has not voiced too many video game characters just yet. He did provide the voice of Tetsuro Kuromazaki in Lost Judgement in 2021.

Physical copies Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Apparently Needs a Day-One Patch to Play a

While Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora launches on December 7, 2023, some people already got physical copies and are reporting they allegedly need a patch to play. On both Reddit and Resetera, reports about being unable to play the PS5 version and its box art appeared bringing up the issue. [Thanks, Reddit and Resetera!]

The reports first came in on Reddit, with user Interesting-Squash81 showing a photo of the PS5 version. It showed that there would be a black screen with the game's logo in white and the December 7, 2023 release date. That user reported their physical copy arrived early and was apparently unplayable. That person also noted that changing the console date and playing offline didn't work.

https://www.reddit.com/r/FrontiersOfPandora/comments/18aq8d3/my_physical_copy_arrived_early_for_a_second_i_was/?ref=share&ref_source=link

The following Resetera thread by RedbullCola included an apparent photo of the PS5 physical game box for Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which included a note suggesting a patch would be needed. It says on the front, "Internet required to install the game."  To compare, the preliminary box art showing up on retailers like Amazon doesn't include this note on the cover between the ESRB rating and note about the Aranahe Warrior Pack.

Here's the RedbullCola photo of the game box next to the Amazon preliminary image.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora will come to the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC on December 7, 2023.

Astral Chain easter egg in Bayonetta 3

Nintendo published a new Bayonetta 3 blog post detailing some of the game's hidden trivia, such as rare combat techniques. One of the segments in this post focused on easter eggs from Astral Chain, which just like Bayonetta 3, was developed by PlatinumGames.

The newer game's Shibuya stage features an indestructible statue of Lappy, the mascot dog of Astral Chain's police force, which can drop Halos when attacked. However, the stage also has more easter eggs from the same title other than just that.

One of the advertisements that appear in the Shibuya 101 building features the fictional jewelry brand Ilyndho. The same brand and items also appeared in Astral Chain, as shown on the right side screenshot.

The Bayonetta 3 Shibuya stage also features a branch of the Larger Burger restaurant chain, although it is closed and inaccessible.

Nintendo also shared footage from the office battle cutscene. It briefly shows the vending machine's smiley face on a monitor blown away by the enemy attack.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nT_X0Y98HmE

At the end of the segment, Nintendo's blog writer reminded readers that Bayonetta 3 features a Multiverse where multiple worlds run in the same time axis. They even wondered whether the Astral Chain world could also be part of the Multiverse.

Astral Chain and Bayonetta 3 share a good number of similarities. PlatinumGames developed both games, and Nintendo published them exclusively on the Switch. Astral Chain came out first in August 2019. Bayonetta 3 followed suit later in October 2022.

Bayonetta 3 and Astral Chain are both available worldwide on Nintendo Switch.
