If you've noticed more Escape From Tarkov cheaters than normal, you're far from alone. The "hardcore story-driven MMO" from Battlestate Games might be one of the most influential survival games in recent years, inspiring modes such as Warzone 2 DMZ, an addition to the latest Call of Duty game. However, the community is awash with complaints in recent months, with comments calling the current wipe "the worst so far for blatant cheaters."

hu tao ascension materials

Hu Tao has been in Genshin Impact for a while now as one of the game's more desired Pyro DPS characters, and she will make a return in Version 3.4. For those who do not have Hu Tao but plan on pulling for her, it's good to start farming for her ascension materials now. Fortunately, since she debuted in 2021, even newer players should be able to access everything she needs.

Here are the Ascension Materials and Mora to set aside for Hu Tao:

Ascension 1:

  • 20,000 Mora
  • 1 Agnidus Agate Sliver
  • 3 Silk Flowers
  • 3 Whopperflower Nectars

Ascension 2:

  • 40,000 Mora
  • 3 Agnidus Agate Fragments
  • 10 Silk Flowers
  • 15 Whopperflower nectars
  • 2 Juvenile Jades

Ascension 3:

  • 60,000 Mora
  • 6 Agnidus Agate Fragments
  • 20 Silk Flowers
  • 12 Shimmering Nectars
  • 4 Juvenile Jades

Ascension 4:

  • 80,000 Mora
  • 3 Agnidus Agate Chunks
  • 30 Silk Flowers
  • 18 Shimmering Nectars
  • 8 Juvenile Jades

Ascension 5:

  • 100,000 Mora
  • 6 Agnidus Agate Chunks
  • 45 Silk Flowers
  • 12 Shimmering Nectars
  • 12 Juvenile Jades

Ascension 6:

  • 120,000 Mora
  • 6 Agnidus Agate Gemstones
  • 60 Silk Flowers
  • 24 Shimmering Nectars
  • 20 Juvenile Jades

You can get Silk Flowers in Liyue Harbor and around Wangshu Inn. Also, you can farm Juvenile Jades from the Primo Geovishap, which is in the Minlin area of Liyue. In total, you will need 420,000 Mora, 46 Juvenile Jades, and 168 Silk Flowers. This is on top of the Agnidus Agate materials and Whopperflower materials.

As for Hu Tao's Talents, she takes Diligence books. You can farm Diligence from Taishan Mansion on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Her Weekly Boss drop is Shard of a Foul Legacy, which you can get from Childe. Childe is in Liyue, just like all the other Ascension Materials Hu Tao takes.

To fully level up a single Talent, Hu Tao needs:

  • 1,652,500 Mora
  • 3 Teachings of Diligence
  • 21 Guides to Diligence
  • 38 Philosophies of Diligence
  • 6 Whopperflower Nectars
  • 22 Shimmering Nectars
  • 31 Energy Nectars
  • 6 Shard of a Foul Legacy
  • 1 Crown of Insight

While you do not need to push her all the way to Level 90, I do recommend fully Ascending Hu Tao. This is because her special stat when leveling up is her Crit DMG. A lot of Hu Tao's usefulness comes from her Charged Attack and the nuke DMG from her Burst. So having a high natural Crit DMG is beneficial.

Genshin Impact is readily available PS4, PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices. Hu Tao is a limited 5-star character, so you cannot always pull for her unless she is on a re-run banner.

The mouse market is a confusing place filled with equally confusing terminology and numbers. There's so much choice out there, from established brands to a myriad of newcomers offering insanely light mice designed for people who have sacrificed thousands of hours upon the altars of competitive multiplayer. So when I went hunting to replace my Logitech G403 I was greeted with so many choices that my brain immediately displayed a 404 error and refused to do anything for a few hours. After a lot of searching, I settled on one of Razer's latest mice, the Basilisk V3, their updated version of a mouse I actually reviewed back in 2017. Three revisions later, how is it holding up?

Monster Hunter Rise Palico Support

When it comes to Monster Hunter, your Buddies are your best friends. I'm talking about your in-game assistants, the Palico and Palamute. Of the two Buddy types you have available in Monster Hunter Rise, the Palico is the one veterans will be most familiar with. Felyne friends have been essential hunting companions in the series for years, while the dog-like Palamute is a new addition to the squad for Rise. Every Palico has a variety of stats and attributes you'll need to consider when deciding how to choose and build them out. So if you've been wondering which Palico Support type to pick in Monster Hunter Rise, this quick guide is here for you.

Monster Hunter Rise Palico Support Types

From the first Palico you create at the start of the game to the new ones you can hire from the Buddy Plaza, every Monster Hunter Rise Palico has a support type. These support types are assigned at random from a pool of five.

  • Assist - Prepares traps to disable and ensnare monsters
  • Bombardier - Uses bombs to attack monsters
  • Fight - Fights alongside the hunter with their weapon, inflicting damage
  • Gathering - Gathers rare items when exploring the map and fighting monsters
  • Healer - Provides healing assistance to hunters

A Palico's type determines which Equipped Moves they get at level 1 and level 20, determining their general behavior during hunts. That means any Palico with, say, the Assist type will have an Assist move at level 1, and will get an Assist move at level 20. The rest of their moves - gained at levels 5, 10, and 15 in the Monster Hunter Rise base game - are assigned randomly from across the whole pool, ensuring a level of variation.

As you advance through the game, spend a bit of time at the Buddy Plaza looking at different Palicos to find one with the right combination of moves and Support Type to suit your play style.

Monster Hunter Rise Palico Support Type

Which Palico Support Types to Choose in Monster Hunter Rise

As mentioned, a Palico's support type determines their behavior during a hunt. Thus, you should choose which suits you best based on how you want to play. Keep in mind that Palicos have at least three of their moves assigned at random, which means Fight-type Palicos may get Healer moves, Assist-types may get Gathering moves, and so on. As you gain experience, look at a Palico's moves as well as their skills when deciding which to pick. Thus, the first and last moves on any Palico's list are the ones you should be looking at when deciding which support type to pick for a hunt.

As general advice for a beginning Hunter, you can't go wrong with a Healer-type Palico. Healer Palicos will get a Healing move at level 1, Herbaceous Healing, which grows a small healing plant you can hit to deploy a healing cloud. Healer Palicos can provide some critical support as you learn how best to use your chosen weapon and gain experience fighting monsters. Also, since Palamutes cannot using healing moves, Palicos are the only source of in-combat healing besides yourself during the early game. Palicos that get healing moves can also give you some much needed breathing space as you learn a monster's attack patterns.

More experienced Hunters can pick Assist-type Palicos to make their hunts go faster. Monster Hunter Rise has a robust multiplayer component, but in the absence of other players, Assist Palicos can help disable monsters, allowing you to focus on dealing damage. Even a first-level Assist Palico can use its Felyne Silkbind to hinder a monster's movement. More advanced Assist moves can drop shock trap and pitfall traps. The "Shock Purr-ison" move is particularly useful, since with the right timing you can disable a monster completely for a brief period.

Meanwhile, the Fight-type Palico can be a bit underwhelming if you expect it to do a lot of damage. While the Fight line of moves has some useful distracting maneuvers, ultimately you will be the source of most damage to a monster, not your Buddy. The "Power Drum" move from level 10, though, is a great-to-have Palico move, as a Palico can use it quite often, giving you a damage and defense boost with high uptime.

The Bombardier and Gathering Palico support types in Monster Hunter Rise are a little more specialized. Bombardier Palicos can throw bombs to damage and stagger monsters. The level 15 move "Flash Bombay" has the same effect as a flash bomb, and can blind a monster and make it vulnerable.

Gathering Palicos can, at high levels, steal materials from the monsters themselves. Gathering Palicos are useful as you start "farming" monsters to make up armor and item sets you want, as they increase your material intake with the Level 20 move "Pilfer". You'll start to see a handful of extra parts per hunt, including some pretty rare drops. The Gathering type's Level 1 move "Endemic Life Barrage" can also be quite useful, but a little inconsistent, as the endemic life that hits the monster has varied effects. A Gathering-type Palico with a healing move in Level 5 or 10 and a trap or power-boost move from the Assist/Fight line is a wonderful "general purpose" hunting companion.

All in all, the best Palico Support Type in Monster Hunter Rise is the one that most suits your personal play style. Make sure to find the right combination of type, moves, and skills to find the perfect buddy for your hunting career.

Monster Hunter Rise is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The Sunbreak expansion launches for PlayStation and Xbox platforms in Spring 2023.

These Can Be Some of the Best Fire Emblem Engage Characters Alear

As in many Fire Emblem games, there are really no "best" characters to use in Engage. Due to things like Second Seals to change classes, Master Seals to reach advanced classes, and Emblem Ring skill inheritance, everyone can end up being useful! Your best characters can be the ones whose design, personality, or general gameplay value you prefer. However, there are a few units that I found exceptionally useful while playing. As such, I'd recommend keeping them on-hand when fighting your battles.

Editor's Note: There will be spoilers below in this list of potential best Fire Emblem Engage characters.

Alear

Alear is great! Which is good, because you're forced to use them in major battles! Their unique weapon Liberation is a fantastic sword with great Str and Hit that also can fill the Engage meter. Divinely Inspiring ensures allies right next to them deal +3 damage and take 1 less damage. Divine Spirit also ensures the Engage meter fills one step faster. Meanwhile, their general stats shape up pretty well.

Alcryst

Alcryst

You'll probably want an archer around at all times, and I think Alcryst should be that archer. Mine ended up with both higher Str and Dex than Fogado, your other great archer option. He also gets the Covert benefit that doubles his Avo from terrain. He comes with the Get Behind Me skill, which gives him +3 Str if an ally within two spaces is attacked. Once he becomes a Tireur d'elite, he can learn the Fire Emblem staple Luna, which can ignore half of a foe's Def/Res based on Dex percentage.

Pandreo

Pandreo

I hate Pandreo's howls, but I can't deny his versatility. He ended up being one of my best Fire Emblem Engage characters. This is because while you'll get healers who can use magic and vice-versa, in my game he ended up being both one of the best healer and magic damage units. His Mag, Dex, Res, and Lck all skyrocketed. His High Priest Self Healing let him use staves on himself, which is fantastic for survivability. Party Animal checks to see how many allies and enemies are within two spaces, giving a 3x bonus to Avo and Hit as a result. Plus his Mystical class status ignores foe terrain Avo bonuses. He's fantastic, and I sort of hate him for that!

These Can Be Some of the Best Fire Emblem Engage Characters Diamant

Diamant

Alcryst isn't the only Brodian prince you should keep around. Diamant ended up being one of the best Fire Emblem Engage characters in my game too. He's a "Backup" type, which means if he's within range of an ally attacking, he'll join in for a chain attack to help deal more damage. Mine ended up with amazing Str and Def stats. Fair Fight, which gives him and an enemy +15 hit in an encounter if he initiates the attack and the enemy could counter attack, comes in handy. He also learns the Fire Emblem staple Sol as a Successeur, which looks at his Dex stat to determine the odds of him recovering 50% of the damage he dealt to an enemy as health. He's basically a strong tank!

These Can Be Some of the Best Fire Emblem Engage Characters Ivy

Ivy

Units that can pull double duty by being good damage dealers and healers are incredibly handy throughout Fire Emblem Engage. Ivy is that. She can hit S-rank with tomes easily, her Mag stat is fantastic, and she's probably going to be among your first flying units who can heal, making it easy for her to reach allies. She starts with Single-Minded, which means she gets +20 hit when facing her most recent opponent again. As a Lindwurm, she will also learn Grasping Void, which looks to her Dex to determine the odds of her dealing extra tome-based damage based on half of her enemy's Mag stat.

These Can Be Some of the Best Fire Emblem Engage Characters Jean

Jean

Jean is Fire Emblem Engage's "villager" character, which means he essentially has endless potential thanks to his starting skill expertise. It guarantees enhanced stat growth when he levels up. Since he starts as a Martial Monk like Framme, his advanced class would be High Priest. So like Pandreo, he gets the great Mystical bonus and Self-Healing. But since he does have Expertise, you can play around with Emblem Rings to build proficiencies, have fun, and turn him into some really cool class.

Yunaka

Yunaka

Personally, I preferred to keep Zelkov around as my thief, but I must admit Yunaka is the more valuable unit. That's because of her first skill, Trained to Kill. If she gets an Avo bonus from the terrain she is standing on, her Crit rate will also go up by 15. Consider that mine's Crit rate was already admirably high (it passed 20 at level 25) and she has the Covert benefit doubles her terrain Avo bonus, and she's just too useful.

These Can Be Some of the Best Fire Emblem Engage Characters

Veyle

It's probably not surprising that Veyle is another one of the generally best Fire Emblem Engage characters. Mine had a tendency to almost die often, due to infuriatingly low HP. However, she comes with two great unit-exclusive weapons, which are the Misericorde dagger and Obscurite tome. Her Mag and Res are great, though! She also comes with Fell Protection, which grants adjacent allies +1 damage and -3 damage, and Fell Spirit, which fills her Engage meter by one each turn.

These Can Be Some of the Best Fire Emblem Engage Characters Panette

Honorable Mentions: Citrine and Panette

These two are my "your mileage may vary" picks. Citrine I like a lot for Generosity. If she uses a healing item, every adjacent ally also gains that same amount of health, which makes her your only non-Micaiah AOE healer right away. As a Sage, she also gets Spell Harmony, which benefits her being around other allies by granting Atk equal to adjacent ones when she uses a tome.

As for Panette, give her a Steel or Silver Greataxe. Let her Berserker Smash+ skill push enemies two spaces away with the greataxe's Smash attack. Put her in harm's way so her base Blood Fury skill gives her +10 Crit as long as her HP isn't at 100%. Take advantage of her "Backup" nature to help build up allies' chain attacks. Profit.
